Have you ever found yourself pondering the deeper questions in life, such as your purpose and the nature of existence? My latest conversation ventures into the realm of Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotisha, and its profound connection to these existential inquiries. We unravel the tapestry of Vedic philosophy and how it positions Jyotisha not as mere fortune-telling, but as an enlightening guide to understanding and manifesting our highest potential. Through this system, we're invited to view our birth chart as a vision, one that aligns us with our inherent purpose, transforming every learning experience into a step towards self-realization. Join my group coaching program to dive more into Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology): https://drkatyjane.com/2024visionquest
We delve into the contents of the Vedanga Jyotisha, the earliest Indian text to deal explicitly with astronomy. Then we turn to early Hindu cosmology and their explanations for various celestial phenomena, from the phases of the Moon to solar eclipses. Lastly, we briefly cover the unique cosmology of the Jains.
Join me for Part 2 of my discussion with Sachin Sharma about the therapeutic use of Vedic Mythology and Vedic Avatars. In this episode we cover topics such as the Shadow Work of Mars - when Mars thrives on stealing innocence rather than protecting. We also dive deep into the archetypal themes of the "Rebel" and the "Fallen Hero". And we address the importance of finding an Astrologer with an empowering philosophy who will help you engineer the perfect action to defeat any Hiranyakashipu in your life.Sachin's childhood encounter with Jyotisha resurfaced in 2014, prompting him to study under renowned astrologers. Now focused on understanding the Self, his pursuits include Jyotisha, meditation, philosophy, and psychoanalysis, seeking integration across disciplines. Embracing diverse viewpoints, Sachin explores sacred texts and contrasting perspectives, driving his quest for comprehensive understanding.
No worries, dit is heel normaal. ;-)
A pañchāṅgam is a Hindu calendar, which follows traditional units of Hindu timekeeping, and presents important dates and their calculations in a tabulated form. Pachangam are used in Jyotisha. The study of Panchāngams involves understanding Rasi phala the impact of the signs of the zodiac on the individual. Astrologers consult the Panchāngam to set auspicious dates for weddings, corporate mergers, and other activities as per their religion. A typical Panchāngam may state tabulations of positions of Sun, Moon, and other planets for every day of the year on a fixed place (longitude, latitude) and time of day.The users calculate the remaining data using their relative difference from this fixed place and time. There are three popular meanings of panchāngam: In Vedic astrology, meaning "five attributes" of the day. They are: Tithi - Ending Moment (EM) of elongation of the Moon, the lunar day, the angular relationship between Sun and Moon ( Apparent Moon minus Apparent Sun). One Tithi equals 12 degree difference between Moon and Sun. Nakshatram - EM of astarism of the day, that is, the stellar mansion in which Moon is located for an observer at the center of the Earth. One Nakshatra equals 13 degrees:20 minutes. There are 27 Nakshatra in 360 degrees. Yoga - EM of the angular relationship between Sun and Moon( Apparent Moon plus Apparent Sun). One Yoga equals 13 degrees:20 minutes. There are 27 Yogas in 360 degrees. Karana - EM of half of a Tithi. One Karaṇa equals 6 degree difference between Moon and Sun. Var weekday the seven weekdays. Panchānga-pūjan, which is a part of Ganesh-Ambika-pūjan.

Hello everyone! I hope that you're all having a beautiful week and staying inspired. This week I decided to create a segment that gives information on Venus when placed in all 12 zodiac signs. Venus is the karaka (significator of) relationships, partnership, love, and romance. Venus represents finer things, luxury, indulgences, art, expression, and creativity. Wherever our Venus is placed, we can better understand how we give and receive love and what is important to us in relationship. Please keep in mind that just like everything in Vedic astrology - this topic is vast and we must consider the house, aspects, and dignity of the planet to truly understand it's nature. This segment is to share information simply on Venus through the 12 signs. I hope you find it entertaining, helpful, and supportive on your astrological journey!
