In 1990 Lilith Sternin became a bestselling author. The manuscript she was working on before she met Frasier was finally complete. She called it “Good Girls, Bad Boys,” (Cheers S8E18 Severe Crane Damage)2. Much like his father - who in 1974 went through a midlife crisis, he dyed his hair black and bought a motorcycle (Frasier S1E20 Fortysomething)3. He met a number of famous and notable personalities including Alex Trebek ((Cheers S8E14 ‘What is Cliff Clavin'), Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers (Cheers S8E16 Finally: Part 2) and Celtics' great Kevin McHale. (Cheers S9E2 Cheers Fouls Out)4. [P]er the results of a test, Frederick Crane only had an average intelligence. (Cheers S9E7 Breaking In is Hard To Do)5. It didn't help when Frederick's first word was “Norm!” (Cheers S9E7 Breaking In is Hard To Do)6. All the way back in Seattle, a Jack Russell terrier gave birth to a litter of puppies. One of those little creatures would later be adopted by Marty and named Eddie (Frasier S3E24 You Can Go Home Again) (NOTE: This makes Eddie around 2 years old in S1 of Frasier))7. On this November day in particular, he had lunch with his partner Frank and somehow ended up with a goldfish. He named it Eddie. Frank, Marty and fish Eddie ended up driving around Seattle while Marty unloaded his familial woes on his partner. Frasier was once again staying in Boston for Thanksgiving. This bothered Marty more than he let on, but Frank knew. They stopped at a convenience store like they had many times before. Marty didn't get anything, but Frank picked up a slushie.  Before they left, Frank decided to go back inside: the frozen concoction wasn't to his liking.  (Frasier S9E4 The Return of Martin Crane) This decision brought him face to face with a man named Hicks who was holding up the store with a .38 special. (Frasier S8E23 A Day in May) Frank got lucky: Marty Crane intervened. He stopped the robbery and saved Frank, but for this good deed, Marty took a bullet to the hip. (Frasier S8E15 Hooping Cranes) As he lay bleeding out on the ground, the ever stoic Marty didn't shed a tear. (Frasier S4E8 Our Father, Whose Art Ain't Heaven)  8. Marty was taken to St. Bartholomew's Hospital and Frasier left Boston right away to tend to his ailing father. (Frasier S2E6 The Botched Language of Cranes)  9. Marty was brusque with his son, almost cruel, this moment of vulnerability showing a mean streak in the patriarch. (Frasier S9E4 The Return of Martin Crane)10. He was terrified. He never wanted to take a risk, he never left the house, he'd duck for cover every time a car backfired. (Frasier S10E9 Don't Go Breaking My Heart)11. Frasier always had problems talking about death. He thought that if you talked about it, it would happen. (Cheers S10E11, I'm OK, You're Defective)12. After his father was shot, Frasier finally drew up a will (Cheers S10E11, I'm OK, You're Defective)13. Lilith and Frasier took Frederick to see popular children's entertainer Nanny G on his birthday.  (Cheers S10E16 One Hugs, the Other Doesn't)14. In April of ‘92 Lilith began working on a study with renowned scientist Dr. Louis Pascal. He was developing a subterranean dwelling called an Eco-Pod and Lilith was assisting him. (Cheers S11E7 The Girl in the Plastic Bubble)15. “The Crane Train to Mental Well-Being” lecture tour and video cassette. (Wings S3E16 Planes, Trains, and Visiting Cranes)16. Frasier attended Seattle's prestigious Bryce Academy, a preparatory school with an impressive legion of alumni. (Frasier S6E2 Frasier's Curse)3. Frasier's class alone gave the world a heart transplant specialist, a cancer researcher, and a computer software magnate. (Frasier S6E2 Frasier's Curse)4. He was an unathletic, bookish sort and was still a target for bullies. (Frasier S4E2 Love Bites Dog)5. His nickname during his Freshman year was the “Bryce Academy Crier, (Frasier S6E2 Frasier's Curse)6. He made some attempts to remedy this, like joining the football team ((Frasier S5E8 Desperately Seeking Closure) or the woodworking club, ((Frasier S5E10 Where Every Bloke Knows Your Name)7. He never fit in with the popular kids, his only friends were the nerds, students in the debate club, or that exchange student from Abu Dhabi. (Frasier S7E14 Big Crane on Campus)8. He took Spanish and learned the language fluently; (Frasier S2E21 An Affair to Forget)9. [H]e went on to serve as the Grand Panjandrum of the Vocabulary Club (Frasier S4E11 Three Days of the Condo)10. He even began tutoring other students (Frasier S8E21 Semi-Decent Proposal)11. His role in The Dream led him to mount and direct his very own backyard production of Hamlet, where the star of the show was a skull Frasier stole from one of the Bryce Academy classrooms. (Frasier S9E19 Deathtrap)13. For the trouble, Frasier wrote a short story about the experience that he published in the high schools' literary magazine. It was called, “Through the Clown's Mouth Darkly,” and it went on to take the silver medal in the All-City Fiction contest in 1968.  (Frasier S8E6 Legal Tender Love and Care)14. He also started writing a society column for his school's newspaper using the nom de plume Alastair Mowbray, (Frasier S6E19 IQ)15. 1968 had another important milestone for Frasier: his first kiss. It was with Jill Solomon in one of the science labs at the Bryce Academy. Jill was not thrilled about the experience, and in response she hurt Frasier in such a way that he had to visit the nurses' office. (Frasier S8E17 It Takes Two to Tangle)16. [H]is sexual frustrations became so unbearable that in order to distract himself from them, he constructed a replica submarine big enough to sleep six over the course of six months. He would often play pretend in it, shouting “Fire one! Fire two!” (Cheers S7E2 ‘Swear to God')  17. In one memorable incident, Frasier received a standing ovation night after night for his role as Conrad in Bye Bye Birdy. One student did not enjoy the performance, writing in the Bryce Academy Crier, that “Mr. Crane's attempts to gyrate his hips as Conrad the teen idol in Bye Bye Birdie made this reviewer say, ‘bye bye breakfast.' (Frasier S3E23 The Focus Group)18. Frasier wrote a musical to be performed by the other students and made sure that Niles had a good part. (Frasier S7E13 They're Playing Our Song)19. They even collaborated on the spring musicale, writing cheeky songs that somehow got past the keen eyes of teachers and faculty. (Frasier S1E22 Author, Author)20. [I]n addition to theater, he also joined the Existentialist Club, where he was named “Most Likely to Be,” (Frasier S1E18 And The Whimper Is…)21. [H]e graduated second in his class (Frasier S9E14 Juvenilia)22. Frasier made sure to push himself out of fear that he'd be bested by brainy little Niles. (Frasier S6E19 IQ)  23. On Prom night,  Frasier and his date arrived at the dance in a horse drawn carriage. His date was Niles. The quote-unquote official story was that both of their dates canceled at the last minute and they decided to go stag together. (Frasier S7E23 Something Borrowed Something Blue: Part 1)  24. After renting their house for ten years, the owners of the property - a Mr. and Mrs. Lasskoph- asked the Crane family to vacate. (Frasier S9E19 Deathtrap)25. That summer, Frasier lost his virginity. After four years of unwanted chastity, he began an illicit affair with an older woman - his piano teacher, Miss Clarice Warner. (Frasier S2E1 Slow Tango in South Seattle)26. Many years later, Frasier relayed this story to some drinking buddies in Boston. One of them, Thomas Jay Fallow, would turn it into a bestselling romance novel, “Slow Tango in South Seattle.” (Frasier S2E1 Slow Tango in South Seattle)27. First up, Scottye makes a roll of the dice to send Martin Crane away from Seattle and maybe to a Cheers in space? It's complicated. Then, Jim combines the excitement of answering live radio psychology calls with the sheer boredom that is a state fair Tornado attraction. Don't worry, it's only slightly longer than the American Adventure in experience length. We end, somehow, with stunts, lightsabers, and the hit tv show Wings, you know, just to go out of the season on a real high note. See you for Season 9 in two weeks.
