In this episode of Pad Wives Unfiltered, Sophs and Kirsha read out real listener experiences of military housing, and what you sent us stopped us in our tracks.Mould growing on walls and ceilings. Leaking roofs left unrepaired for months, 34 weeks pregnant and falling through the kitchen ceiling?! Contractors coming out, doing the job wrong, and having to come back again. And again. Families living in conditions that would be unacceptable anywhere else — while the MOD continues to spend money patching problems that a proper repair would have fixed the first time. This is not a new problem. You've been telling us for years. This episode we're finally saying it out loud — with your stories, your names if you wanted them used, and the receipts. We also talk about: the complaints process and why so many families feel it goes nowhere, the financial cost of repeated botched repairs versus doing it properly, and what the new Defence Housing Service announcement actually needs to mean for this to change. If you have lived in military housing, this episode is for you. If you haven't, this is the conversation that needs to be louder.Share this episode. Send it to someone in the MOD. Post it everywhere.

The conditions service members live in directly affect Military readiness and national security. It's the responsibility of Congress to authorize military funding to ensure the warfighter has what they need in combat and at home. Every decision impacts the strength of the force and their families. In this episode, Fran Racioppi sat down with Representative Mike Levin, who serves California's 49th District and sits on the House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans Affairs to discuss the policies and decisions shaping today's military bases. From investments in infrastructure at Camp Pendleton to broader oversight of Veterans Affairs, Congressman Levin outlines why improving living conditions, facilities, and support systems is essential to maintaining a ready and capable force. Our conversation explores the responsibility of leadership to develop a culture where reporting substandard conditions is encouraged. We also discuss the broader role of Congress in overseeing military operations, and the importance of transparency, strategy, and accountability when American forces are deployed.Congressman Levin shares his perspective on the war with Iran, his views on the need for checks and balances, and the growing divide that has made bipartisan governance more difficult. He emphasizes that strong institutions require leaders willing to put mission over politics and to ensure that the constitutional framework guiding military action is upheld. This is a conversation about leadership, accountability, and the systems that support those who serve. It is about ensuring readiness not just on the battlefield, but across the entire force.Highlights:0:00 Introduction1:53 Welcome to the Jedburgh Podcast3:19 California's 49th District6:34 Improving Military Housing14:25 Status of the Iran War19:37 Is Iran A Direct Threat To The US?22:08 Iran's State Sponsorship of Terrorism25:20 Negotiating with Iran28:41 Bridging the GapQuotes:“It is imperative that we treat our veterans and military families with absolute respect.”“We've got real issues with barracks.”“We're not looking for the Ritz Carlton. A new survey finds that nearly every service member living in privatized military housing has experienced serious problems in their home and many of those issues go unresolved. The Change the Air Foundation recently launched the Safe Military Housing Survey, one of the most comprehensive efforts yet to collect data the Defense Department has never been able to track accurately. The nonprofit found that three quarters of respondents were dealing with mold and microbial growth, which is extremely hazardous to a person's health. For more, Federal News Network's Anastasia Obis spoke with Erica Thompson, a military spouse and the military families' liaison for the Change the Air Foundation, and Brandon Chappo, director of public policy at the foundation.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Robert's story begins in a century-old farmhouse, where phantom footsteps echoed upstairs when no one was there. After his parents divorced, the activity grew stronger, as though the house fed off loneliness. But the true horror came years later, when Robert was deployed to Afghanistan. In 2008, he dreamed he was struck by a roadside bomb in exact, terrifying detail—only for the vision to come true two weeks later. Life after war didn't bring peace. At Fort Campbell, Robert and his wife encountered a nursery that was always unnaturally cold. Their baby would sit up screaming in his crib, staring into a corner at the ceiling as though someone unseen was watching. At Fort Knox, activity intensified—paintings fell from walls, shadows shifted across ceilings, and his wife and mother-in-law witnessed a ceiling fan's shadow spin while the fan itself stood still. Robert later learned that many military bases sit on top of hundreds of old cemeteries, their graves unmarked and disturbed. Was the paranormal activity tied to the land itself, to the grief of soldiers and families, or to something darker that follows him? This isn't just one haunting—it's a lifetime of encounters that blur the line between war, memory, and the paranormal. #RealGhostStories #HauntedMilitaryBase #FortKnox #FortCampbell #MilitaryGhosts #AfghanistanPremonition #ParanormalActivity #TrueHauntings #SupernaturalEncounters #GhostStoriesOnline Love real ghost stories? In this episode, the hosts discuss the controversy surrounding Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who is reportedly living rent-free in military housing. They argue that this move was a necessary security measure after her Washington D.C. apartment was doxxed by the media and she began receiving death threats from terrorist groups, cartels, and what they refer to as "deranged lunatic leftist." The hosts criticize The Washington Post for publishing her location on a military base, calling it a "sick" and dangerous act that reveals a "lack of basic humanity." They assert that Democrats and their allies in the media are trying to undermine the Trump administration and intimidate potential recruits for government jobs like ICE. The hosts connect this incident to a broader pattern of political targeting and violence, referencing past attacks against ICE agents and suggesting that the left is willing to go to extreme lengths to stop the administration's agenda. They conclude that the situation is a sign of a "civil war" and a new low in American politics.
