A.K.A - Everything ends and is sad. Jake + Mitch go existential as they grapple with the close of Netflix's Jessica Jones. A legit prestige TV title and delicious 21st Century noir; JJ gave us a three season run that rarely fell short. Naturally, the last run presented a few questions:- Is s3 the last vestige of "bloated" Netflix series?- How do Killgrave, Cotton Mouth, and Fisk stack-up to MCU's villain arsenal?- Is Jessica Jones the best of the Marvel TV titles? They also get a little side-tracked with some scalding hot Star Wars takes. It makes sense...mostly. Bottom line, Jessica Jones ranks among the best of the bunch. Now it's time to re-watch the whole series, because we can't believe it's over. Be sure to give a listen, rate and review!https://www.watchingcomics.com/TWITTER: @WatchComixPodHOSTS: @MitchRoush + @Thatjakeowens
Jack and Joe take a look back at the three season run of Netflix's Jessica Jones and talk about what they'll miss now that the show has ended.
I can imagine the elevator pitch for this one now, and it reads similar to the start of the bible… or something like that: “In the beginning, there was a devil and angel who realized their actions cancel each other out and they become best friends.”Good Omens is six part adventure about how the demon Crowley, played by David Tennant and the angel Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen kinda save the world from Armageddon. This show is packed with talent: Frances McDormand, (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo) and John Hamm (Mad Men, Baby Driver). Whoever the casting director was here deserves a bonus. Every character was played perfectly. Sheen’s and Tennant’s subtle nuances and their heavenly bromance make their performances shine.Good Omens doesn’t make you think, doesn’t try to be more than it should, and ended before it got boring. Every episode is filled with twists, turns and jokes; especially the flashback episode. It was sad that it was so short, but oh it was it satisfying. The last episode did set up a possible second season so, we’ll see what happens.A holy (unholy?) recommendation from me.Jessica, Jessica, Jessica. When you look at the Marvel Cinematic universe, you have three types of films and shows. You have the films like the Avengers, designed for a mass audience, you have the television shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that hint about powers and the reaping, but never go as far. Lastly, you have what Netflix has managed to do with Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones (I like to pretend Iron Fist isn’t a thing… The Hand?? give me a break). Marvel’s Netflix partnership managed to connect the real world consequences of “powered humans” with the slight fantasy of super heroes. No easy feat. And out of all the series that have been floating around over the past decade, Jessica Jones has shined tremendously. Why? Because if someone actually had super strength, Jessica Jones would be your “hero.”The final(?) season of Jessica Jones is a marvel (ha, get it) to observe. Jessica (played spectacularly Krysten Ritter) has grown tremendously over the past three years, even at the point of caring about the people around her. Marvel and Netflix’s Jones has always tried to mix horror and super human abilities over the course of the series and manages to do this well. Heck, we don’t even get bored as we did in episode 1 of Iron Fist or Season 3 of Luke Cage (let’s be honest tho Alfre Woodard is brilliant as Mariah Stokes… err… Dillard).Season 3 of Jessica Jones has them fighting against a crazy smart sociopath. He’s killed a lot of people and unlike past villains actually manages to give Jessica a run for her money. #StillWaitingforKillgraveToShowUp

Popcorn Talk Network, the online broadcast network that features movie discussion, news, interviews and commentary proudly presents “I Could Never Be.” Raelle Tucker is a Emmy-nominated Hollywood showrunner, producer, and writer. She is currently the executive producer and showrunner for Sacred Lies, on Facebook Watch. She also played significant roles in Netflix's Jessica Jones as well as HBO's True Blood. For someone responsible for so much content on television, it may come as a shock to hear Tucker actually grew up without a television in Spain. But that wasn't a detriment, as it forced her to use her creativity to come up with amazing stories. At 17, she moved in LA to start her Hollywood career, but it wasn't glamorous, as she had to work random jobs to pay the rent. From waiting tables to exotic dancing, she found enough inspiration for countless stories and her career has taken off ever since. Keith and Aaron discuss Terry Crew's willingness to speak up on the sexual assault personally experienced in Hollywood to members of the Senate. Crews has not been easily embraced as part of the #MeToo movement. The hosts debate why the split has occurred and if sexual predators are any closer to being held accountable. Before the serious stuff, they cover a surprising appearance by the Japanese wrestling league NJPW at the fighting game tournament CEO 2018, the impressive sophomore season of Netflix's "Luke Cage," and directorial analysis from Keith on the connections between Netflix's "Jessica Jones" and the brutal 70s cult classic film "I Spit on Your Grave." Tim, ChinMo, and Katt share their thoughts about season two of Netflix's Jessica Jones.
In this week's episode, the Feminist Frequency Killjoys (call us, Marvel) unleash a torrent of opinions about Netflix's Jessica Jones; from its complicated wrestling with trauma to the ways in which people of color are often used as narrative tools in the service of white women's healing. Then we gush over the mobile game, Florence, which Caro called "both a beautiful game and also a game about beauty—the beauty of creation, color, and connection." Finally, we each share something we’ve been thinking about in What’s Your FREQ Out?! Caro is reading N.K. Jemisin's The Fifth Season; while Ebony is unashamed to admit that Holby City continues to have her shook. Anita wraps up the section by abusing the FREQ Out system and tries to slip in TWO freq outs: she loved the Black Panther soundtrack and tries to speak on West Coast hip hop and then also wanted to chat about A Case of Distrust. Segment Timestamps: :16 - Intros 1:42 - VoP (Voice of Phil) 1:50 - Anita and Ebony wrote a book! Also, we fail to talk about the new Marvel Infinity War trailer 5:53 - Jessica Jones 27:06 - Florence 39:15 - What's Your FREQ Out Deal? The Generic Geek Podcast is back and this time we're talking super heroes! Word has it that David Tennant will be returning for season 2 of Netflix's Jessica Jones. Hear our thoughts on what his role will be. And while we're on the subject of Marvel's Netflix shows, it looks like Daredevil is going to start filming season 3 in the near future. When we we expect the show to return to the small screen? We speculate...We also talk big changes with the upcoming Justice League movie. Rumors are that Joss Whedon is making some big changes since taking over for Zack Snyder as director with a number of reshoots and a new ending? What does this mean for the future of the DCEU?And did you really think we wouldn't talk about the DuckTales reboot? [Downton Gabby Off-Season 9] - It's a super-packed conversation in our last episode of the off-season before the (sob) final season of Downton Abbey begins. We're preparing, reminiscing, and predicting, and one of us might be taking a deeper dive into fandom activities than ever before (send 1920s garb now!). Helping us fill some of the time before the Crawleys and company return is Netflix's Jessica Jones. We dig the themes, the ass-kicking, the piles of well-written women, and the simmering hot Luke Cage-but we do have a few issues, such as whether the 13-episode binge really serves the story, or why Jessica hasn't yet encountered 21st century denim technology. Finally, to close out the year we each count down our five favorite female characters of 2015. Some picks are predictable, some are surprising, and if you can guess which single character shows up on all three lists, you know us better than we know ourselves. Grab a bottle of bottom-shelf whiskey out of your battered PI desk and join us for one more episode of Downton Gabby Off-Season!

Let's get this Joe on the road: with Reid off for the week, we asked esteemed colleagues John and Nick to join us for a discussion of Netflix's Jessica Jones, whether it works as a Veronica McNulty PI show of its own, and who Wil Traval reminds us of. The Blotter Presents scratched your Panettiere itch with an Amanda Knox movie before we went around the dial with bullshit dream-sequisodes, Britcoms, How To Get Away With Murder, nutty Thanksgiving Day programming, and Dave's suggestion for the next TV/comics adaptation. Nick and John tag-teamed a heisty half hour of Brooklyn Nine-Nine for their Canon presentation, and we deemed a couple of farewells Winner and Loser before Tara rolled out a very learned non-regulation Game Time. From all of us Agents Of E.H.G., we're thankful you're listening to an all-new Extra Hot Great.Special Guests: John Ramos and Nick Rheinwald-Jones.
