Wadi Jones is a martial artist, professional dancer, stunt person, and instructor at the International Stunt School. As a younger man he studied Taekwondo, wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu. For such a young man, at the infancy of his career, he has a great understanding of the integration of mind and body. He talks with Marc Zirogiannis of Taekwondo Life about the parallels between martial arts and dance, which he used during his time on the hit television show, "So You Think You Can Dance". Wadi has appeared as a stunt person on such shows as Netflix's Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. He is a gifted communicator, teacher, and performer. While honing his skills in front of the camera he is also looking to transition to work behind the camera and behind the scenes producing, directing, and leading fight choreography. **The Creeper in my Sock drawer** This week on our friendly neighbourhood comics and manga podcast, Andrew and Producer Rob are joined by the other Rob (yes, we know it's going to get rather confusing). It's a rather sombre opening this week as the gang remember the work of the legendary Steve Ditko, with time enough for a chat about the second season of Netflix's Luke Cage before it's time to dig into the big pile of comics and manga. So what did we fish out from that magical heap of words and pictures? Well, there's some tales from the pages of Archie with The Complete Cosmo the Merry Martian, Ben Frankel's murder-mystery Frank, Jeff Lemire's Sherlock Frankenstein and the Legion of Evil, Mike Mignola and Troy Nixey's Jenny Finn, the first volume of Yasushi Baba's Golosseum, and Avengers: No Surrender. So there's plenty of good stuff to sink our teeth into. If you've enjoyed this podcast then please share us with your friends or leave us a rating on your podcast app of choice. Blaming biased data and bad algorithms? Stop moral outsourcing to machines because data is a reflection of us! Liz and Xine interview Rumman Chowdhury, PhD candidate in political science and a full-time data scientist. We talk about how ethics, diversity, and social justice play an integral part in data, dubious robots, and the uneven development of data science through industry and academia. Beyond tin foil hats, we discuss everything from racist redlining in Chicago, philosopher Hannah Arendt's concept of the banality of evil, Netflix's Luke Cage, and menstruation apps. How can we approach data in a way that is not reductive? How can the quantitative not come at the cost of the qualitative? Rumman works at Metis, an organization dedicated to data science training that has scholarships for women, people of color, veterans, and LGBTQ+ people.
