In preparation for bathing suit season, we present a discussion of the current status of hair removal treatments.  Traditional hair removal methods like shaving, waxing, sugaring, and threading work temporarily, but medical-grade, in-office treatments are more powerful. Electrolysis is the gold standard—it uses a tiny needle and an electric current to kill the hair follicle. It's great for small areas, but not practical for large ones. Vaniqa (ethornithine) was a prescription cream that slows hair growth, and lasers can zap hair for long-term reduction. We can treat all skin types with lasers, but darker skin requires special settings to keep it safe and effective. Find out: The hair growth cycle, from anagen (active) to telogen (resting) phases Does shaving really make hair grow back thicker? How hair and skin color affect laser results How we protect the skin while targeting melanin in the hair If your hair is too light, can you just dye it before lasers? WAXING ARIES NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE FIRST QUARTER & NEPTUNE IN ARIES: THE TIDE BEGINS TO TURN!

Astrologically Speaking with Sheri

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 4, 2025 60:02

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN for this week's Astro News You Can Use podcast @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking which covers how, as we're now at the first quarter monthly lunar square of the Cancer Moon to the Aries Sun April 4, a major shift is reverberating through our global collective consciousness. This podcast starts with a recap of the effects of eclipse season & what's taken place between March 13 & now--including notable accidents, fires, natural disasters, and other events of a physical nature such as military bombings, & the incarceration of those who protest war. For example, in addition to the devastating storms that raged through the U.S. after the March 13/14 Virgo Full Moon lunar eclipse, and just before the Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse on March 29, we learned of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar. The massive destruction there has now left 3,455 people dead, another 4,715 people injured, and 341 missing, according to Myanmar's military-led government. We discuss also what's occurred between the inferior conjunction of the Sun in Aries to Venus retrograde on March 22 and its heliacal rising circa March 29, which echoes the themes of this eclipse series--with the addition of the fall from grace of prominent people. This theme was mirrored in last night's removal by the high court of the South Korean president after he instituted martial law back on December 12, 2024, and may represent a harbinger of the future elsewhere. Here in America, there are plenty of people losing their positions, such as unelected billionaire Elon Musk who's responsible for major labor cuts and funding throughout the federal government that's just now beginning to take effect by touching peoples lives personally. An object of American & Canadian anger, Musk is reportedly due to step down as a "special government employee" who's head of the Department of Government Efficiency sometime in May. However, he will remain an advisor to President Trump. But the real news is that the tide is beginning to turn as voters in Wisconsin elected a democrat to the state's supreme court on April 2, reducing GOP influence in a swing state that voted overwhelmingly for Trump last November. And, although two GOP House representative won their special elections in deep red regions of Florida, the turnout there severely alarmed GOP operatives as the percentages of those wins dropped drastically from last November. In addition, the democrats in Congress show signs of beginning to wake up and fight back since this Aries solar eclipse & as we approach the waxing cardinal first quarter monthly lunar “crisis in action” square on April 4. Even some hardcore GOP members of Congress are now objecting to Trump's massive tariffs on nearly all foreign nations that trade with America. These eclipses, combined with Mercury's retrograde period starting on March 14 at the lunar eclipse, have included a review of trade contracts & agreements. Between the combination of Venus retrograde from March 1 through April 12 & Mercury's retrograde cycle from March 14 through April 7, we've seen the weakening of global partnerships (Venus) with America mainly through the issue of trade (Mercury.) And, as the U.S. continues to maintain its isolationist “us versus them” stance on trade and its expansionist threats against its partners, retaliation is threatened by these partners (Aries)—again. Fingers crossed that mercurial unpredictable President Trump will come to a final conclusion on his tariff threats, due to go into effect on April 5, by the time Mercury stations direct again on April 7.Such threats have already tanked the financial markets, alarming many, even though the jobs report today was a positive one. But the federal worker cuts have not hit the unemployment stats yet, and we have not yet felt the full brunt of economic effects based on the increase in prices of goods imported into the U.S. Economists' estimates this will cost the average American between $1600 & $3,800 per year--which essentially amounts to a rise in taxes. As people begin to wake up to all of this and how it will affect them & those they love personally, attitudes are beginning to shift in alignment with the post Aries New Moon solar eclipse energies. In addition, Neptune's ingress into Aries on March 30 is slowly allowing the birth of a new consciousness around the world's current predicament to arise and events indicate now that action will follow.Looked at symbolically, NY Senator Cory Booker's record breaking 25+ hour speech on the Senate floor on April 2 that excoriated Trump, Musk, and others for their careless, callous edicts & actions (here's lookin' at you Pete Hegseth & Mike Waltz), represented the birth of a new political awakening & retaliatory defiance. In addition, a new era is heralded by Neptune's entrance into Aries for the next fourteen years until 2038. Since Neptune rules the natural 12th House of gestation, and Mars-ruled Aries the proactivity necessary for the act of birth, we're witnessing now the birth of consciousness within the collective that the old order is falling away and a new one will eventually mature into adulthood. While we're still a long way from that phase of Neptune in Aries, we know that Neptune will be joined soon by Saturn in Aries on May 24. And that this CAN herald a time of greater psychological understanding within the national collective. Why? Because we'll be able to overcome any egoic blockages (Saturn) by bridging the gap (Aries) between the rational conscious ego and the irrational intuitive waters that lie deep within the unconscious (Neptune.) After all, it's Neptune that intuitively understands that we are all brothers & sisters under the skin, AND that in Aries, we'll be willing to fight for our freedoms based on that simple truth.Check out this and more Astro News You Can Use details starting today at https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking as we look closer at the astrological influences currently in play, including next week's April 12 Libra Full Moon square to Mars in Cancer! THE Sales Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 18, 2025 11:36

In Part One, we talked about Jan Carlzon's insights into the importance of consistent service  being provided to clients.  The buyer mantra is know, like and trust in sales. We also talked about the basics of sales – prospecting and closing. Now are we going to continue the errors, shortcomings and mistakes of last year into the new year or not?  Are we going to just continue doing what we have always done year in, year out or are we going to improve?  We tend to get into a groove in sales, which is perfectly fine, if it is the correct groove.  We start again this year, but are we adding years of sales experience or are we just duplicating the same dubious experience of last year?  We have to make the decision that we are going to become better in all aspects of the basics of selling and build a professional career. As mentioned in Part One, a big element of sales success revolves around our communication skills. These days it is made even more difficult, because we are probably doing this, while selling remotely.  How do you like someone you have never met before in person and only interact with on a small screen during an online call?  In this environment, what we say and how we say it become vital.  Did you know that we lose about 20% of our pep when we are on screen. We have to lift our energy just to get back to parity, let alone start to impress the client with our energy and passion to serve them. You will have noticed what dead dogs a lot of people are when on screen.  They are lifeless and low power. If you are the buyer, they are probably not the type of person you want taking care of your business.  You want a powerhouse who will run through brick walls for you, who will leap tall buildings in a single bound to do the best deal, someone who will take a bullet for you on the pricing. This means the same old, same old, year in, year out sales boogie doesn't function properly and we will lose the customer and the sale.  We have to refine our onscreen communication skills further just to tread water, in order to stay where we are right now. These are the new basics of sales.  However, are salespeople leaping out of bed ready for the day and seeing it as a new day in sales, that requires a set of different skills from last year?  How are we doing with understanding and mastering the new basics for this coming year? Understanding clients seems the most obvious basic skill, but that is a rarity.  You have to wonder how that could be the case?  In Japan, the reason is simple. The communication flow is one way.  The seller is trying to “convince” the buyer to buy.  To do that they trot out their widget catalogue and describe it in vast detail. The problem with this “no questions asked” approach is you don't know enough information. Does the buyer need that widget in pink or blue?  Waxing lyrical about the bountiful aspects and many wonderful attributes of your blue widget is ridiculous and pointless because the buyer needs the widget in pink.  You need to know that and the way to find out is to ask the buyer questions, rather than blindly pitching into the dark. The Japanese client is a problem too.  Over time, they have trained salespeople to offer up their pitch, so that they can cut it to shreds.  They do it this way in order to satisfy themselves this is a low risk purchase.  They prefer the “smash the walnut with a sledgehammer” approach. Risk aversion is fair enough and nobody wants to make an incorrect purchase or waste resources.  Pitching is a total waste, however salespeople and buyers haven't woken up to that fact yet.  A Japanese salesman who came to see me promptly sat down and immediately went through his entire slide deck adding his commentary.  He didn't ask me one teensy-weensy question about my business or what was the problem I was trying to fix.  I teach sales, so I was amazed and wondered how long it would be before he would ask me a question.  Well he didn't.  He just pitched and pitched and pitched.  We wasted twenty five minutes of that meeting going through stuff of no value or interest to me the buyer.  I wanted pink but he kept talking about blue the whole time. If he had taken a few moments to ask me some questions, he could have zeroed in on the two slides that were pertinent to me, in that whole massive deck. We could have had a much more meaningful and fruitful conversation.  He didn't get the sale and no wonder. Whether we are selling online or selling when person to person, we need to ask questions.  Japan being Japan, we need that mezzanine step of first getting permission to ask questions and that is not difficult.  Are you or your colleagues asking for permission?  Salespeople in Japan need to start the new year with a new realisation that pitching is inefficient and basically self-defeating.  Let's start the new year reflecting on the true basics of selling.  Then we can put those basics into practice, in order to get the results we need.  The equivalent of football blocking and tackling is what we need in sales.  If we salespeople don't get it, then this will be another year of opportunity which has slipped by, eluding our grasp.  We simply cannot afford that year in, year out business anymore.

Welcome to Waxing the Porpoise, the podcast that dives deep into the unexplored depths of cinema and occasionally the unexplained. This week G-Baby and the Usual Suspect Steve once again raise the flag with Chris of Mount Molehill fame and fresh off his newest podcast venture Dead Formats to check out the Charlie Bronson butt-centric action thriller banger where he let's his fists do the talking - Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects from 1989. Join us as we discuss human trafficking, Steve questioning if Charles Bronson is indeed a human man, the true meaning of Kinjite, and listen to perhaps one of the greatest Amazon film reviews of all time.  The porpoises, midnight companions and keen observers, dive in fin first into the murky depths of Kinjite where Charles Bronson's brand of justice is as subtle as a shark at a seafood buffet. Exploitation, dad action revenge thriller, Bronson playing a character of dubious moral fiber?  What else do you need? Let's wax this harum-scarum porpoise. https://linktr.ee/waxtheporpoise #bronson #dadrevenge #thriller #posterior #waxit Always a pleasure to have Ruth's Chris's on and please be sure to support his rad new show Dead Formats, a podcast all about media on dead formats - VHS, made-for-TV, interactive movies, SOV - the more obscure, the better! Two brothers both went through the apprenticeship program with John Archibald in the 90s. Darin Swartz was instantly hooked and opened up Swartz Dental Arts in the basement of a dental office after graduation. Followed by his younger brother, Mike Swartz graduated and opened his own lab. After seeing technology coming into the industry, it was time to partner up and create Diamondhead Dental Lab (https://diamondheadlab.com/).
