Nnamdi Ngwe is an actor, comedian and writer for The Amber Ruffin Show and Tab Time originally from London where his initial sex education was just the bad kids used to try to get the younger kids to kiss. Then he got a little older and realized how unhinged that was! Some things we said... "I would, as long as it's like, my feelings wouldn't be hurt if it's like, don't do that. Continue on. Yeah. Here's some guidance. Here's some notes. Let's keep going." "You think that I'm not in control, you think that I'm not in power, your dick is in my mouth. I can fucking hurt you or heal you right now. Do not fuck with me." "You have better sex when you know what you're working with. But none of us were ever taught what we're working with. So, like, we're just like flailing about." "That's daddy official. Okay, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you've been a sugar daddy. I've been not a good one." "You have your erotic persona and then you have who you are. Yeah. Really? Like you have, there's, there's two worlds." "To get somebody in a position to release to you in that way is such a gift and it's so powerful." ... plus so much more. Watch it on YouTube to get the full experience! Nnamdi is a man after MBS's own heart: he's a movie crier. He unpacks the highbrow and lowbrow films that have inspired and moved him throughout his life. From Forrest Gump to Creed, Nnamdi has always emotionally responded to incredible storytelling via filmmaking, acting, and character work and strives to do the same in his own life as a performer. Herein lies Oscar talk, actor-director pairings, and Masters of the Universe for some reason. Also, from the bottom of both of our cinephilic hearts: go see Arrival ASAP. MBS at the Chicago Podcast Festival THIS WEEKEND. Use promo code CHICAGO for 1/2 off tickets! Thanks to Basecamp for sponsoring and the Chicago Podcast Cooperative for making a vast majority of this possible and way more worth the time and energy spent on it.

"These are the guys that sit in their mom's basement and don't come outside and don't see sunlight and breathe through their mouth really loudly." -Milan 12:20 Milan sometimes does cosplay for conventions. Nnamdi would dress as a Colonial Viper pilot or Bishop from X-Mean 17:10 A man snuck into a home, hid under a guest room bed for three days, and charged his cell phones. 19:09 Sammy and Nnamdi question Milan's upbringing. Chicago actor and improvisor Nnamdi Ngwe visits Studio 1Q to discuss Whiplash, surviving the zombie apocalypse, diversity in TV & movies, and boy bands. SHOW NOTES: 0:00 Intro with a very special lead-in by Nnamdi (whose name I continually flub). He does not like being called notorious and demands a Three Amigos adjective instead. 2:35 Sammy ran into Nnamdi at Whiplash. We both don't like being coddled when being taught or coached. Nnamdi talks about the Oscar-contending movies he's seen and claims every year of his life is perfect for a movie adaptation. He also refuses to watch a trailer for a trailer. 13:00 Nnamdi is a big fan of So You Think You Can Dance; Sammy only likes the audition rounds. Nnamdi is ready for the zombie apocalypse thanks to Walking Dead and will be the leader of his group of survivors. 18:50 A 7-year-old girl survived a plane crash and walked for help. We discuss some of the diverse shows on TV. 44:30 Nnamdi is looking forward to the Backstreet Boys documentary. Sammy has lots of questions about various boy bands. We talk about finding new music and not getting stuck listening to the same stuff. Sammy likes Nikki Minaj's bluntness on American Idol and Nnamdi dislikes participation medals. 57:30 Outro with a very special Nnamdi performance at the very end.
Nnamdi Ngwe may be out of breath from doing the Running Man for three minutes straight but he's ready to tackle Working Mothers, an episode where the title somehow manages to be more sexist than the content it represents. Look, all you need to know is Joey and Jesse might enter the advertising world full time and everyone is conspiring against them in the name of routine. The Tanners WILL NOT have their routine fucked royally by your insipid dreams! Nnamdi also gives us some insight on what it means to be a cool kid who couldn't help but kill it, be it on the soccer field or on the floor of his own private dance hall. Nnamdi is the best, so PAY ATTENTION.
Jimmy sits down with Nnamdi Ngwe live from Stage 773. Nnamdi has performed all over Chicago at the Annoyance, and the iO Theatre.
Xander, Ben, Michael Grush, and Nnamdi Ngwe have a special men-only ladies night on this episode of AE with XO. The scientific periodical known as Cosmopolitan is read, passive voice is used in the episode description, and scary haunted cabinets are learned about. Presumably you are not too cool to listen to this so just go ahead and do it.
Nnamdi Ngwe joins me to talk about living all over the world, performing in Denver, being a twin, and making the move to Chicago.
