Para ela, não existe só uma solução, mas várias, que envolvem a escola, os pais, governos e os profissionais da saúde.“Essas ferramentas causam dependência. Sabemos que nosso cérebro tem um circuito de tratamento da imagem que é bem mais rápido do que o circuito que gerencia a linguagem e a reflexão”, avalia. O consumo ininterrupto do conteúdo gerado pelas redes torna os jovens presas mais fáceis. Esse risco cresce na adolescência, um período marcado por transformações e incertezas. Casos de câncer explodem no mundo No início do ano, dados apresentados pelo Instituto francês Gustave Roussy mostraram que os casos de câncer entre jovens de 20 a 40 anos vêm crescendo nos últimos 30 anos. O hospital, situado em Villejuif, nos arredores de Paris, é um dos maiores centros de combate ao câncer do mundo. Estudos revelam que, entre 1990 e 2019, houve um aumento de 79,1% de certos tipos de câncer em pessoas com menos de 50 anos, em todo o mundo. Os médicos preveem uma alta de 12% de novos diagnósticos e mortes causadas pela doença nessa faixa etária entre 2022 e 2050.Quais seriam os fatores de risco? Poluição, consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados, sedentarismo? “Não entendemos exatamente o porquê desse aumento, mas há pistas. Alguns estudos mostram que pode haver uma relação entre o consumo de ultraprocessados e o câncer. Mas isso não significa que haja necessariamente uma causalidade, ou seja, uma relação de causa e efeito”, diz o oncologista Fabrice André, diretor de pesquisa do Instituto Gustave Roussy. Francês cria medicamento contra Mal de Parkinson O farmacêutico francês Guillaume Brachet descobriu que tinha o mal de Parkinson aos 30 anos. Ele criou um medicamento, já patenteado, que poderá frear a evolução da doença. O jovem cientista contou sua história ao programa e no livro Parkinson aos 30 anos, lançado em março na França. “Vamos ter que demonstrar o impacto significativo do tratamento nos parâmetros da doença e traduzi-lo em algo mensurável e padronizado, como um biomarcador, para provar o efeito dessa combinação”, explicou. Ele adapta as doses, o sabor e a forma dos medicamentos usados por crianças e adolescentes com a doença e usa impressoras 3D para fabricar os remédios na farmácia do centro. Após vários testes, os pediatras do hospital pediram ao farmacêutico que melhorasse o sabor do Bactrim, um medicamento que associa dois antibióticos e é utilizado em larga escala pelas crianças que têm câncer e passam por quimioterapia. “Eles nos falaram que o resultado foi bom, mas poderia ser ainda melhor. O ‘melhor' demorou oito meses para ficar pronto. Como somos franceses, imaginamos um jeito para disfarçar o gosto do remédio e decidimos fazer um macaron”, explicou. O macaron é um doce com formato redondo, massa feita à base de amêndoas, açúcar e clara de ovos. Estudante francês de Medicina denuncia racismo Uma das entrevistas foi com o estudante francês de Medicina Miguel Shema, que está no 5º ano da Faculdade de Iasi, na Romênia. Jeho originalitu ocenil aj sám cisár František Jozef, keď po ochutnaní vraj zvolal „Dieser Champagner ist vorzüglich!“, teda „Toto šampanské je vynikajúce“. A práve tento šumivý unikát oslavuje svoje dve storočia. Jeho história sa začala písať v roku 1825, keď sa dvojica dvoch bratislavských mešťanov Johann Fischer a dr. Michal Schönbauer odvážne pustili do výroby šumivých vín, prvej v Európe mimo vlastného Francúzska, ktoré je považované za kolísku šampanského. Dnešným slovníkom by sme ich priekopnícky podnik nazvali úspešným startupovým príbehom, veď napokon už v 30. rokoch sa ich vína pod označením Fischer-Schönbauer ocitali na stoloch najváženejších rodín nielen v starom Prešporku, ale aj vo Viedni a v Pešti. Ešte väčšmi sa pod tento podnikateľský úspech podpísalo meno Pavlíny Hubertovej a jej syna Henrika Huberta, ktorí bratislavský klenot doviedli azda k najväčšej sláve, korunovanej celým radom prestížnych ocenení. Aj napriek turbulenciám, ktoré prinieslo do histórie tejto firmy dramatické 20. storočie, tradícia, chvalabohu, pretrvala a bez Huberta si hádam ani nevieme predstaviť silvestrovské oslavy či dôležité životné jubileá. Skrátka, s bublinkami radi spojíme i našu radosť a náš úspech. En vísperas del primer aniversario de la dana del 29 de octubre de 2024 regresamos a las comarcas valencianas más afectadas por este devastador episodio de riadas e inundaciones. En compañía del historiador y periodista Francesc Martínez Sanchis visitamos la zona cero de esta gota fría que segó 229 vidas, según el último dato oficial. Este documental, con guion de Álvaro Soto y diseño sonoro de Mayca Aguilera, plantea tres objetivos. Busca entender las causas de estos fenómenos extremos, contemplar las huellas de la última riada y recordar otras anteriores como el hundimiento de la presa de Tous en 1982 y el desbordamiento del Turia en 1957. Este último suceso motivó la realización de Plan Sur, que desvió el río para evitar futuros males. El arquitecto Julio Gómez-Perretta, hijo del ingeniero que ideó el proyecto (Claudio Gómez-Perretta), recuerda aquellas faraónicas obras que, además, sirvieron para modernizar por completo la ciudad de Valencia. Mientras conducimos entre municipios ribereños del Magro y el tristemente famoso barranco del Poyo, analizamos factores que hacen de la provincia escenario habitual de catástrofes de esta índole. Desde la Universitat Politècnica de València aportan sus miradas los catedráticos de ingeniería hidráulica Félix Francés e Ignacio Escuder; el catedrático especializado en estructuras Nacho Payá-Zaforteza; el profesor e investigador de inundaciones Miguel Ángel Eguíbar; y la profesora de arquitectura Yolanda Hernández Navarro. Host Ed Crooks puts that question to two industry leaders who are aiming to build hydrogen businesses at scale: Pierre-Étienne Franc, CEO of HY24, and Alex Tancock, CEO of Intercontinental Energy.Pierre-Étienne argues the market is normalising rather than stalling. The projects that are reaching final investment decision have risen sharply in size, and production of electrolyser modules has scaled from tens of megawatts to hundreds of megawatts. One crucial change is that the centre of gravity of the industry is shifting toward Asia and the Middle East. The first wins can come where hydrogen already has a job to do: swapping grey molecules for green in fertilisers and refining. In the steel industry, the green premium for low-emissions metal looks manageable. And over time, hydrogen can start meeting power and industrial demand via ammonia and methanol. For heavy trucks, hydrogen may have a role as a complement to battery electric vehicles, deployed where long charge times and grid bottlenecks make them impractical.Alex explains his production model. His 26-gigawatt Australian Renewable Energy Hub in the Pilbara would decarbonise roughly 4% of the region's iron-ore output. It's designed as repeatable “LEGO blocks”: the project can be build out with dozens of near-identical phases that drive down cost with each addition.Some in the low-carbon hydrogen industry used to talk about how $1/kg was the production cost that would be needed for large-scale deployment. Alex says that benchmark is no longer relevant. What matters now is capex, the supply chain, and the cost of capital, he says, and China's ultra-automated factories are slashing equipment costs. However, Europe still needs clearer rules to unlock demand. For sectors like sustainable aviation fuel, durable policy will be essential while costs remain high.
