CrossPolitic 1v1 — Show Notes: Andrew Crapuchette, CEO of Red Balloon On this episode of CrossPolitic 101, the Waterboy sits down with Andrew Crapuchette, CEO of Red Balloon, to talk about what happens when merit replaces DEI in hiring — inside corporations, inside the military, and now inside the U.S. Department of State. Andrew breaks down Red Balloon's acquisition of MilitaryHire.com, their new contract as the official recruiting arm for Foreign Service Officers, and why getting 500 to 1,000 cleared patriots into the State Department could have a generational impact on America and the world. Plus: why you should consider taking the Foreign Service Officer Test — and how classical education might be exactly the preparation you need. Episode Summary: What happens when a society rejects the sanctity of life and abandons a biblical worldview? In this episode, we sit down with Dr. George Grant to discuss The Last Stand, his documentary created with Seth Gruber. Together, they trace the historical roots of today's cultural battles, showing how the struggle over human dignity, the value of children, and the lordship of Christ has shaped civilizations from ancient Rome and the French Revolution to modern America.Dr. Grant explains why the pro-life movement is ultimately a clash of worldviews, why cultural decline begins with false ideas about the human person, and why Christians cannot retreat from the public square. We explore what faithful cultural engagement looks like in an age increasingly hostile to biblical truth. This conversation offers both a sobering diagnosis and a hopeful roadmap for renewal through discipleship, Christian education, institutional leadership, and long-term faithfulness. If you're concerned about the future of Western civilization, the pro-life movement, or the Church's role in discipling nations and shaping society, this episode is for you.Who is Disciple Nations Alliance (DNA)? Since 1997, DNA's mission has been to equip followers of Jesus around the globe with a biblical worldview, empowering them to build flourishing families, communities, and nations.

Were the "Dark Ages" really dark—or were they the centuries when the gospel quietly transformed Europe? Dr. George Grant walks through monks, missionaries, market towns, and parish churches, showing how Christendom slowly replaced pagan slavery with a culture of worship, work, freedom, and learning. Kevin and George then ask what today's Christians can learn if we want to see that kind of patient, courageous culture-building again.

Zechariah 9:9-17 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!     Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you;     righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey,     on a colt, the foal of a donkey. 10 I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim     and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off,     and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea,     and from the River to the ends of the earth. 11 As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you,     I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit. 12 Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope;     today I declare that I will restore to you double. 13 For I have bent Judah as my bow;     I have made Ephraim its arrow. I will stir up your sons, O Zion,     against your sons, O Greece,     and wield you like a warrior's sword. 14 Then the Lord will appear over them,     and his arrow will go forth like lightning; the Lord God will sound the trumpet     and will march forth in the whirlwinds of the south. 15 The Lord of hosts will protect them,     and they shall devour, and tread down the sling stones, and they shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine,     and be full like a bowl,     drenched like the corners of the altar. 16 On that day the Lord their God will save them,     as the flock of his people; for like the jewels of a crown     they shall shine on his land. 17 For how great is his goodness, and how great his beauty!     Grain shall make the young men flourish,     and new wine the young women.   Key Words: Rejoice, King, Salvation, Rule, Covenant, Prisoners, Hope, Jewels Keystone Verses: Because of the blood of My covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free. Acts 20:13-38   13 But going ahead to the ship, we set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go by land. 14 And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and went to Mitylene.15 And sailing from there we came the following day opposite Chios; the next day we touched at Samos; and the day after that we went to Miletus. 16 For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia, for he was hastening to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.        17 Now from Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church to come to him. 18And when they came to him, he said to them: "You yourselves know how I lived among you the whole time from the first day that I set foot in Asia, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and withtears and with trials that happened to me through the plots of the Jews; 20 how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you in public and from house to house, 21testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.22 And now, behold, I am going to Jerusalem, constrained by the Spirit, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23 except that the Holy Spirit testifies to me in every city that imprisonment andafflictions await me. 24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel ofthe grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that none of you among whom I have gone aboutproclaiming the kingdom will see my face again. 26 Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, 27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made youoverseers, to care for the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood. 29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. 32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able tobuild you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. 33 I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel. 34 You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. 35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"        36 And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. 37 And there was much weeping on the part of all; they embraced Paul and kissed him, 38 being sorrowful most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they accompanied him to the ship.   Key Words: Humility, Tears, Trials, Teaching, Constrained, Guard, Wolves, Give Keystone Verses: Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which He obtained with His own blood. Acts 19:8-20 8 And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God. 9 But when some became stubborn and continued in unbelief, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus. 10 This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks. 11 And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them. 13 Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” 14 Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this.15 But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” 16 And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered allof them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled. 18 Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. 19 And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.20 So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.   Key Words: Extraordinary, Miracles, Evil Spirit, Fear, Confessing, Prevail Keystone Verse: Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you? Acts 17:1-15 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews. 2 And Paul went in, as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.” 4 And some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women. 5 But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd. 6 And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also, 7 and Jason has received them, and they are all acting against the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus.” 8 And the people and the city authorities were disturbed when they heard these things. 9 And when they had taken money as security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. 10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. 12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men. 13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Berea also, they came there too, agitating and stirring up the crowds. 14 Then the brothers immediately sent Paul off on his way to the sea, but Silas and Timothy remained there. 15 Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens, and after receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed. Key Words: Explaining, Proving, Necessary, Jealous, Money, Noble, Examining Keystone Verse: They received the Word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. Acts 15:36-16:5 36 And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us return and visit the brothers in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.” 37 Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. 38 But Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. 39 And there arose a sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and departed, having been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. 41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches. 16 Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. 2 He was well spoken of by the brothers at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. 4 As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered to them for observance the decisions that had been reached by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem. 5 So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.   Key Words: Return, Withdrawn, Disagreement, Separated, Commended, Strengthened Keystone Verse: Paul chose Silas and departed, having been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. Acts 15:22-35 22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, 23 with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. 24 Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, 25 it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29 that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.” 30 So when they were sent off, they went down to Antioch, and having gathered the congregation together, they delivered the letter. 31 And when they had read it, they rejoiced because of its encouragement. 32 And Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with many words. 33 And after they had spent some time, they were sent off in peace by the brothers to those who had sent them. 35 But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.   Key Words: Seemed Good, Elders, Troubled, Unsettling, Instructions, Encouragement Keystone Verse: It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us. Will the dust praise you?     Will it tell of your faithfulness? 10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!     O Lord, be my helper!” 11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;     you have loosed my sackcloth     and clothed me with gladness, 12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.     O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!   Key Words: Help, Healed, Restored, Joy, Prosperity, Dismayed, Mercy, Helper, Gladness Keystone Verse: You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness. In a moment when Canada is under existential threat, we look back on a great Canadian thinker who argued that Our Home and Native Land was already an American colony by the mid-20th century. In this special solo episode, Luke discusses George Grant, a self-described conservative who became an icon for the Canadian left, and his 1965 book "Lament for a Nation" PATREON-EXCLUSIVE EPISODE - https://www.patreon.com/posts/125887028

The King's Hall
Rediscovering The Guilds That Built Christendom: An Interview with Dr. George Grant

As we discuss in today's episode—which features an interview with Dr. George Grant—the 5th through 9th centuries were marked by Guilds of Learning, which were the melding of craftsmanship with covenant succession. A student spent an entire lifetime being shaped by a master, who helped them become immersed in whatever trade they had taken up.As a result, “artists” saw themselves as workmen, and spent a lifetime honing their craft. None of this could have been possible without the emergence of a Christian education that shaped every facet of life. Da Vinci, for example, knew five languages, studied vastly, and created works of art and science that would still be wildly acclaimed centuries later. A more modern product of Christendom's genius could be found in someone else we discuss in this episode: J.R.R. Tolkien. So join us today in the King's Hall, as we discuss the importance of Christendom, guilds, and the heights of artistic and cultural development brought about by a distinctly Christian culture and people.Talk to Joe Garrisi about managing your wealth with Backwards Planning Financial.https://www.northwesternmutual.com/financial/advisor/joe-garrisi/planning 10 Ways to Make Money with Your MAXX-D Trailer.https://maxxdtrailers.com/10-ways-to-make-money-with-your-trailerVisit KeepwisePartners.com or call Derrick Taylor at 781-680-8000 to schedule a free consultation.https://keepwise.partners/Visit Muzzle-Loaders.com and get 10% off your first order when you use the coupon code KINGSHALL at checkout.https://muzzle-loaders.com/Buy your beef or pork box today from Salt and Strings Butchery.https://www.saltandstrings.com/Book your free consultation with Boniface Business today at https://bonifacebusiness.comVisit Mid State Accounting where your growth becomes your legacy: https://www.midstateaccounting.net/Your trusted data and technology partner.
