This week, listen in as Pastor Will continues our sermon series "Giving Up to Gain." In this sermon, Past Will talks about how we have to embrace interruptions, entrust whatever, and experience satisfaction.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on John 4:5–42 and Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. In this Lenten sermon, we see how being fully known by Jesus can open the door to transformation and witness. It's a reminder that sharing faith doesn't require having all the answers—sometimes it's simply an invitation: come and see.Scripture references: Exodus 17:1–7, Psalm 95, and John 4:5-42“COME NOW IS THE TIME TO WORSHIP” -- CCLI Song #2430948 | Brian Doerksen | © 1998 Vineyard Songs (UK/Eire) (Admin. by Integrity Music) | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. We say "Yes, Lord" with our words—but do our lives follow through? In this message, Pastor Will challenges us with a powerful parable from Matthew 21. Jesus confronts religious leaders who knew all the right answers but lacked true obedience. The question isn't whether Jesus has authority—it's whether we'll surrender to His lordship in our everyday lives. Two sons. One said "no" but repented and obeyed. The other said "yes" but never followed through. Which one are you? True discipleship isn't about perfect words on Sunday—it's about behavioral repentance that changes our direction Monday through Saturday.Where has Jesus clearly spoken in your life, but you've been avoiding Him? Maybe it's your phone habits, your relationships, your finances, or your time. The kingdom belongs not to the most intelligent, but to the most repentant. It's time to align our lives with the King of the universe.
Pastor Will continues the "Psalms" series by sharing an incredible message about Psalms 27, and teaches us that we only need to do one thing and God will do three things for us.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on John 3:1–17 and the nighttime conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. Moving beyond bumper-sticker faith, this sermon explores what it really means to be “born from above” and to receive eternal life as something that begins now. It's an invitation to step out of compartmentalized faith, trust God's initiative, and come out of the dark into the light.Scripture references: Genesis 12:1-4a, Psalm 121, and John 3:1-17“LOVE CAME DOWN” -- CCLI Song # 5148938 | Brian Johnson | Ian McIntosh | Jenn Johnson | Jeremy Edwardson | Jeremy Riddle | © 2009 Mercy / Vineyard Publishing (Admin. by Integrity Music) | Bethel Music Publishing | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. Pastor Will explores the struggle of akrasia—knowing what's right yet failing to act. Through Peter's denial of Jesus and the unnamed servant girl's challenge, he reveals how fear and self-protection silence faithfulness. Echoing Martin Luther King Jr.'s call to courageous action, he invites us to confront resisting voices and pray for strength to live boldly.
Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness — no distractions, nowhere to hide. Lent invites us to do the same. This week, Pastor Will walks through Matthew 4:1-11 and the temptations Jesus faced, asking what we might find waiting for us when we finally put down our distractions and go into the wilderness on purpose.SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7, Psalm 32, and Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7; Psalm 32“THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD” -- CCLI Song # 21583 | Jamie Owens-Collins | © 1985 Fairhill Music (Admin. by Fairhill Music, Inc.) | For use solely with the SongSelect® rms of Use. Raising Expectations with Pastor Joe Schofield, Dr. Paul Hall, Stefanie Thayer, Dr. Craig Thayer, Pastor Ron Greer Guest, Will Hobbs, The Faithfulness of God Friends, Join us this evening for an uplifting discussion with our dear friend, Pastor Will Hobbs, on 'Raising Expectations!' as he shares inspiring insights on 'The Faithfulness of God.' Amidst unfolding events in our nation and worldwide, let's stand firm in faith, trusting in God's unwavering presence, power, and faithfulness that shape our lives. His plans unfold with purpose, bringing glory to Him, guidance to us, and proof of His love. His presence will be felt, and encouragement will bring His peace that surpasses our understanding. John 14:27! Pastor Will and our ‘Raising Expectations' team invite you to pray ahead, hear the facts, and ask God what your part is to be in His plans for your life and nation! This episode of Raising Expectations features a profound dialogue on the nature of divine faithfulness, exploring its manifestation through historical trials, global revivals, and personal resiliency. Host Joe Schofield and guest Pastor Will Hobbs, alongside a panel of co-hosts, examine how God's consistent character provides a foundation for hope in a turbulent world. The Nature and Definition of Faithfulness The discussion defines God's faithfulness not as a static concept, but as an active, consistent demonstration of His character and loyalty to His Word. Participants emphasize that while human circumstances are volatile—likened to withering grass and fading flowers—the Word of God remains an immutable anchor. Faith is described as a "verb" that requires demonstration, such as the repentance shown by the thief on the cross, which invites grace and mercy. This divine consistency ensures that God always delivers on His promises, whether they are unconditional expressions of love or conditional covenants requiring human obedience. Historical and Global Evidence of Divine Providence The panel shares extraordinary accounts of providence, notably the story of Edward Halbert, a WWII POW. After being aided by a Nazi guard who provided a knife for an emergency medical procedure in a camp, Halbert miraculously reunited with the same man—who had become a chiropractor in Houston—decades later. Furthermore, the discussion highlights a massive spiritual revival currently occurring in Iran. Despite severe persecution and Sharia law, an underground church movement, bolstered by Chinese believers, has reportedly seen millions of converts in recent years, demonstrating that spiritual growth often flourishes in the most restrictive environments. Resiliency and the Power of Testimony Drawing parallels to Victor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning, the speakers discuss the "resiliency of humanity" as a reflection of being made in God's image. They argue that personal testimonies of overcoming hardship are the most effective tools for ministry, as they provide tangible proof of God's presence to a "hurting and dying world." The act of worship is also recontextualized as a "fight position"—a spiritual strategy where glorifying God precedes the battle, as seen in the biblical accounts of Joshua and Exodus. The episode concludes with a powerful reminder that God's faithfulness is multi-generational and transcends global crises. By recognizing the consistency of His character and the power of personal testimony, believers are encouraged to act as "salt and light," offering a message of hope and reconciliation to those navigating the complexities of modern life.

Pastor Will challenges our habit of postponing faith, reminding us that tomorrow never comes. Beginning Lent, he reflects on Mary of Bethany anointing Jesus, showing devotion that acts now, not later. Her example teaches that following Jesus isn't about waiting for perfect timing but offering ourselves today. Present faithfulness shapes future discipleship—because now is the moment to respond.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 17:1–8 and the Transfiguration. As Epiphany reaches its climax, Jesus is revealed in dazzling glory on the mountain. This sermon invites us to see clearly who he is—and to follow him down the road that leads toward the cross.Scripture references: Exodus 24:12-18, Psalm 2, and Matthew17:1-9“BEAUTIFUL ONE” -- CCLI Song # 3915912 | Tim Hughes | © 2002 Thankyou Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. Pastor Will challenges the idea that purpose is something we must find. In Matthew 4, Jesus shows that purpose comes through following him in everyday life. Fulfillment grows over time as we walk with Christ and others, allowing him to transform ordinary work and relationships. Purpose isn't discovered through pressure or perfection—it's revealed through faithfully following Jesus together each day.

Pastor Will reminds us everyone has influence, and followers of Jesus are called to use theirs for good. Drawing from Matthew 28 and Colossians 4, he teaches that impact isn't forceful evangelism but everyday presence—living with love, wisdom, and gracious speech. By sharing faith through relationships and ordinary moments, we reflect Jesus and make a meaningful, lasting impact.
Our faith is constantly being refined whenever we walk with Jesus. Pastor Will retells the story of Elijah and how in the difficult seasons, in the lonely seasons, we are not alone and can use that to grow closer to God!

Pastor Will uses Exodus 16 and the story of manna to show that God's design for spiritual growth is daily dependence on Him, not occasional encounters, as Israel's grumbling in the wilderness revealed hearts shaped by fear and self-reliance while God responded by inviting them into a daily rhythm of trust, obedience, and relationship through heavenly provision; manna illustrates that yesterday's encounter cannot sustain today's hunger, teaching that discipleship is formed through consistent daily encounters with God—especially through prayer, the Word, and worship—which cultivate intimacy, maturity, and readiness for holy visitations, ultimately pointing to Jesus as the true Bread of Life who satisfies and transforms His people one day at a time.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on John 1:29 and John the Baptist's words, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” In this Epiphany sermon, we explore what that image meant to those who first heard it and what it reveals about who Jesus is for the world today. It's a reminder that Christ's saving work is bigger than any one of us and speaks to a world in need of healing.Scripture References: Isaiah 49:1-7, Psalm 40:1-11, and John 1: 29-42“CRY OF MY HEART” -- CCLI Song # 844980 | Terry Butler | © 1991 Mercy / Vineyard Publishing | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. At the heart of this message lies a profound truth that reshapes how we see ourselves and every person we encounter: the Imago Dei, the image of God pressed into humanity. Drawing from Genesis 1, we're reminded that while God declared all creation 'good,' only humanity was created in His image and likeness—a distinction that makes us 'very good.' This isn't about becoming little gods ourselves, but about being similar representations of our Creator, bearing His imprint in ways no other creature does. The message challenges us to recognize this divine image not just in people we love, but in the difficult coworker, the annoying neighbor, the referee who makes bad calls, and even the unborn child. When we truly grasp that every human being—regardless of skin color, gender, socioeconomic status, or past mistakes—carries God's fingerprint, it transforms everything: how we park our cars to make room for seekers, how we serve in church, how we respond when someone wrongs us, and how we engage with a world that desperately needs to see Christ. The call isn't to perfection but to repentance when we fail, and to action in recognizing that we've been placed in this exact moment in history for God's purposes. Understanding the Imago Dei means seeing beyond political debates about abortion, slavery, or human dignity to the biblical truth that every life matters infinitely because every life reflects the Creator.**Sermon Notes:****Introduction:**- Pastor Will welcomes the congregation and introduces the focus on the part of Hope Church's mission statement: loving people.- Brief recount of the sermon series progression, from loving God to the future of Hope Church, and now to loving people.**Main Points:**1. **Distinction Between Animals and Humans:** - Humans are different from animals due to the Imago Dei, the image of God. - This concept emphasizes the inherent value of all humans irrespective of any social or economic distinctions.2. **The Imago Dei:** - Humans are created in the likeness of God, which is distinct from all other creation. - Understanding this elevates the value and dignity of human life above animals.3. **Cultural and Ethical Challenges:** - The sermon discusses ethical dilemmas such as abortion and euthanasia, highlighting the sanctity of human life. - Roe v. This message challenges us to move beyond comfortable Christianity into transformative action. At its heart is the story of Paul's dramatic conversion on the Damascus road—a religious man who knew all the right answers but was walking in the wrong direction until the gospel transformed him completely. This isn't just Paul's story; it's everyone's story. We've all experienced that shift from death to life, from consuming religion to being consumed by the gospel. The question isn't whether we know about Jesus, but whether we've had a life-altering encounter with Him. Paul's transformation was so complete that he put his 'yes on the table'—willing to be imprisoned, beaten, and persecuted to see others experience what he had found. Because of his willingness to sacrifice everything, the church exists as we know it today. Now we're faced with the same choice: will we put our yes on the table? The Great Commission isn't a suggestion—it's a call to go, make disciples, baptize, and teach. Gospel multiplication happens when transformed people can't help but share what they've experienced. We're seeing rapid growth not because of clever programs or charismatic leaders, but because people are encountering the living God and can't keep it to themselves. The challenge before us isn't to build a big church but to make room for more lives to be transformed. That might mean uncomfortable changes, serving in new ways, or giving up our preferred seat or service time. Are we willing to do whatever it takes to see our community, state, and world transformed by the gospel?Sermon NotesIntroduction:Welcome by Pastor Will, introducing an atypical format with both him and Rick sharing insights.Focus on gospel transformation and future vision for Hope Church.Main Themes:Story of Paul:Paul's transformation from persecutor to apostle as a model of gospel transformation.Emphasis on the radical change the gospel can effect in individuals.Gospel Transformation:Everyone's story of moving from spiritual death to life, similar to Paul's.Essential nature of being transformed and actively sharing the gospel.Hope Church Vision for 2026:Emphasis on not just doing church but actively engaging in gospel transformation.Rapid growth at Hope Church attributed to the impact of the gospel, not personal efforts.Future Directions for Hope Church:Ongoing need for more space and possible shift to four services.Encouragement for congregation members to serve and take part in the church's mission.Upcoming missions opportunities to engage with communities locally and globally.Equipping for Ministry (Rick's Part):Church's role is to equip members for ministry, both within and outside church walls.Emphasis on spiritual maturity and stability to withstand challenges and false teachings.Introduction of a new education initiative with 100, 200, and 300-level classes.Next Steps and Growth:Three focus areas: serving the church, community, and the world.Encouragement to participate in life groups and other church activities to grow spiritually.Practical Applications:Personal Engagement:Reflect on personal experiences with gospel transformation and share with others.Serving Opportunities:Identify areas within the church or community where you can serve.Commit to taking part in planned missions trips or projects.Spiritual Growth:Take part in educational classes offered by the church to deepen biblical understanding.Join a life group to foster community and accountability.Discussion Questions:How does Paul's story of transformation resonate with your personal faith journey?
This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 2:1–12 and the meaning of Epiphany. As the Christmas season comes to a close, we follow the light of a star and the journey of the Magi—outsiders who noticed something God was doing and chose to follow it. This sermon explores what it means to keep watching for God's light in a world that still knows darkness, and how we are invited not just to see that light, but to follow it and share it.Scripture references: Isaiah 60:1-6, Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14, and Matthew 2:1-12“GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN” – CCLI Song # 6008077 | Public Domain | Arrangement: 2009 All Essential Music | Formerly Music | Mt. This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 2:13–23 and the part of the Christmas story we often skip. While we're still singing carols, Matthew shows us a world that is anything but calm and bright — and invites us to consider what it means that God chose to enter this kind of world.“JOY TO THE WORLD / OUR GOD SAVES -- CCLI Song # 7101432 | © 2017 Thankyou Music Ltd | Integrity Worship Music | Integrity's Hosanna! Listen in as Pastor Will takes us through the book of Matthew and talks about how we should punt our pride and dethrone our ego, punt our prejudice and seek our savior, and pick praise and return our resources.
On this episode of Reconcile stories, Pastor Will talks to Pastor Lee from Newspring Church. They talk about Pastor Lee's journey in becoming a follower of Christ, how things shifted for him in his focus and being called to ministry, and how he ended up where he is now at Newspring. In a world that is often focused on likes and clicks and celebrity, it is an honor and blessing to see a pastor have long tenure at a church, so we are grateful for Pastor Lee's commitment and faithfulness in ministering to the people in the church God has called him to. They also talk about the importance of spiritual disciplines and some practical ways to incorporate them into our life. Please visit our website at reconcilecc.org for any questions. Thank you for watching and supporting our mission to Preach The Gospel. Produce Disciples. Pursue Justice.
Pastor Will Ford's sermon, It's Time to Level Up, calls Mercy Culture East Fort Worth and the body of Christ to recognize that the year of Radical Love has prepared the church for greater spiritual authority and responsibility. Using David and the Cave of Adullam, he teaches that seasons of distress are often God's training ground, transforming broken people into mature sons and daughters who can carry authority for others. Pastor Will contrasts immature, self-centered leadership with fathered, entrusted authority, emphasizing that true promotion flows from intimacy with God and a willingness to take responsibility. He challenges the church to stop despising small beginnings, stand for what God has entrusted to them, and “get God into” families, cities, and systems, declaring that the church is coming out of this season transformed, united, and ready to level up together.
There is a parable in the Bible that might be one of the most misunderstood passage ever. Pastor Will gives us insight to help us better understand this parable and how we can apply it to our lives!
