This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 4:12–22 and Jesus' invitation, “Follow me.” This sermon explores how that call is not just for pastors, but for all of us, and asks what we might need to leave behind in order to follow faithfully in our everyday lives.
Welcome to another episode of Reconcile Stories. On this episode Pastor Will talks to Jesus, the Deacon of Security at Reconcile. It is amazing to see how God can change someone's heart around by taking someone who used to cause harm and redeeming that part of their story by giving them a heart to protect and serve others! Please visit our website at reconcilecc.org with any questions. Thank you for supporting our mission to Preach The Gospel. Produce Disciples. Pursue Justice.
Pastor Will uses Exodus 16 and the story of manna to show that God's design for spiritual growth is daily dependence on Him, not occasional encounters, as Israel's grumbling in the wilderness revealed hearts shaped by fear and self-reliance while God responded by inviting them into a daily rhythm of trust, obedience, and relationship through heavenly provision; manna illustrates that yesterday's encounter cannot sustain today's hunger, teaching that discipleship is formed through consistent daily encounters with God—especially through prayer, the Word, and worship—which cultivate intimacy, maturity, and readiness for holy visitations, ultimately pointing to Jesus as the true Bread of Life who satisfies and transforms His people one day at a time.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on John 1:29 and John the Baptist's words, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” In this Epiphany sermon, we explore what that image meant to those who first heard it and what it reveals about who Jesus is for the world today. It's a reminder that Christ's saving work is bigger than any one of us and speaks to a world in need of healing.Scripture References: Isaiah 49:1-7, Psalm 40:1-11, and John 1: 29-42“CRY OF MY HEART” -- CCLI Song # 844980 | Terry Butler | © 1991 Mercy / Vineyard Publishing | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 3:13–17 and the baptism of Jesus. As Jesus steps into the water, we glimpse a moment where heaven and earth draw close and God's voice speaks belovedness. This sermon invites us to remember our baptism, to trust God's faithfulness even when we wander, and to listen again for the promise that still claims us.SCRIPTURE REFERENCES: Isaiah 42:1-9, Isaiah 42:1-9, and Matthew 3:13-17“DOWN BY THE RIVERSIDE” -- CCLI Song # 7211349 | Stacey V. This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 2:1–12 and the meaning of Epiphany. As the Christmas season comes to a close, we follow the light of a star and the journey of the Magi—outsiders who noticed something God was doing and chose to follow it. This sermon explores what it means to keep watching for God's light in a world that still knows darkness, and how we are invited not just to see that light, but to follow it and share it.Scripture references: Isaiah 60:1-6, Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14, and Matthew 2:1-12“GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN” – CCLI Song # 6008077 | Public Domain | Arrangement: 2009 All Essential Music | Formerly Music | Mt. This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 2:13–23 and the part of the Christmas story we often skip. On this episode of Reconcile stories, Pastor Will talks to Pastor Lee from Newspring Church. They talk about Pastor Lee's journey in becoming a follower of Christ, how things shifted for him in his focus and being called to ministry, and how he ended up where he is now at Newspring. In a world that is often focused on likes and clicks and celebrity, it is an honor and blessing to see a pastor have long tenure at a church, so we are grateful for Pastor Lee's commitment and faithfulness in ministering to the people in the church God has called him to. They also talk about the importance of spiritual disciplines and some practical ways to incorporate them into our life. Please visit our website at reconcilecc.org for any questions. In A Different Kind of Gift, Pastor Will reflects on the Magi and reminds us that every Christmas gift fades. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh were temporary, but the Magi's first gift was worship. Before giving anything, they bowed and gave themselves. The lasting gift of Christmas is offering lives to Jesus, choosing a posture of worship that endures forever unchanging.

Pastor Will Ford's sermon, It's Time to Level Up, calls Mercy Culture East Fort Worth and the body of Christ to recognize that the year of Radical Love has prepared the church for greater spiritual authority and responsibility. Using David and the Cave of Adullam, he teaches that seasons of distress are often God's training ground, transforming broken people into mature sons and daughters who can carry authority for others. Pastor Will contrasts immature, self-centered leadership with fathered, entrusted authority, emphasizing that true promotion flows from intimacy with God and a willingness to take responsibility. He challenges the church to stop despising small beginnings, stand for what God has entrusted to them, and “get God into” families, cities, and systems, declaring that the church is coming out of this season transformed, united, and ready to level up together.
This week, Pastor Will preaches a sermon titled "Good News For All" from Luke 2:8-20. He walks us through what Christmas means and how we are to respond to that truth.

In A Different Kind of Love, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew's Christmas story, showing love that isn't sentimental or perfect. Through Joseph's choice and God's first move, we see Emmanuel—God with us—entering life's mess. This love comes close, protects, forgives, and meets us in confusion, fear, and unfinished lives, inviting us to receive God's presence as we are.
There is a parable in the Bible that might be one of the most misunderstood passage ever. Pastor Will gives us insight to help us better understand this parable and how we can apply it to our lives!

Pastor Will explores a different kind of Christmas joy—one deeper than lights and cheer. Acknowledging grief, doubt, and weariness, he points to Isaiah 35 and John the Baptist to show joy breaking in amid hardship. Jesus offers joy that welcomes questions, notices God's quiet work, and joins in restoring lives, even when circumstances don't change, during Advent and everyday faith.

Though his congregation is modest in size, his commitment to the Lord and to gospel ministry is anything but small. Our conversation centers on two key themes. First, Pastor Will shares creative and effective ways his church is reaching their community—strategies that build relationships and open doors for the gospel without compromising biblical doctrine. From simple acts of service to intentional community presence, he demonstrates how a church can be both missional and theologically anchored.Second, we take a sober look at the decline of spiritual-mindedness in Canada, shaped by an increasingly lax cultural posture toward faith. Pastor Will speaks candidly about the challenges this creates for pastors and congregations who desire to remain steadfast in truth. Finally, he issues a heartfelt and urgent call: Canada needs more pastors. The fields are white unto harvest, but the laborers are few—not only in Canada, but also across the United States. Pastor Will encourages men to prayerfully consider the pastoral ministry and to step courageously into the work of shepherding God's people. This is a rich and needed conversation about faithfulness, outreach, cultural discernment, and the ongoing need for biblically grounded leaders. Tune in and be encouraged.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 3:1–12 and John the Baptist's call to prepare the way during Advent. In a season that urges us to rush toward Christmas, John's voice from the wilderness invites us to slow down, make space, and re-orient our lives toward the God who is already near. Advent, he reminds us, isn't about nostalgia or rushing to celebration, but about repentance, readiness, and making room for God to move.Scripture references: Isaiah 11:1-10; Romans 15:4-13; and Matthew 3:1-12.“PREPARE YE THE WAY” -- CCLI Song # 5286041 | Michael W. Pastor Will continues A Different Kind of Christmas by exploring Isaiah's vision of new life growing from a stump—reminding us that God brings peace where life feels cut down. Pointing to Jesus as the promised shoot, he invites anyone feeling stressed, grieving, or overwhelmed this season to receive Christ's deeper peace that grows even in hard places and unexpected seasons.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on Matthew 24:36–44 and the real meaning of Advent. Instead of rushing into Christmas, we're invited to slow down, stay awake, and pay attention to the ways God still breaks into our world. Advent isn't just waiting for December 25—it's learning to live ready for whatever God might reveal next.
Imagine standing before a judge, knowing you're guilty, the evidence overwhelming, your failure undeniable. Just as you're about to confess, someone steps between you and the bench, declaring 'not guilty' on your behalf. This is the breathtaking reality Romans 8 reveals to us. We journey from the depths of Romans 7, where we wrestle with our own wretchedness and ask 'who will deliver me from this body of death?' to the triumphant declaration that there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. This isn't just theological theory—it's the lived tension we all experience. We're still in the flesh, still breathing sinful air, still struggling with why we do what we don't want to do. Yet the Spirit of the living God dwells within us. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in our mortal bodies. We're called to set our minds not on the flesh, which leads to death, but on the Spirit, which brings life and peace. This means diving deep into God's Word, letting it dwell richly in us, gathering with other believers to encourage one another, and learning to cry out when we don't even have words—trusting that the Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for utterance. We're not elevated or special; we're simply people in whom God chooses to dwell, and that changes everything about how we live each ordinary day.**Sermon Notes:****Introduction:**- The speaker, Pastor Will, introduces the series on the book of Romans, specifically focusing on Romans chapter 8.- Emphasizes the significance of Romans 8 as one of the most important chapters in the Bible.**Key Points:**1. **Courtroom Analogy:** - Illustration of a courtroom scene where one is guilty but Jesus steps in, declaring "not guilty." - Romans 8:1 states, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."2. **All Are Guilty:** - Romans 3:23 states all have sinned and fall short. - No hierarchy in Christianity; all are equal before God.3. **No Condemnation:** - Only those in Christ are free from condemnation. - The law exposes sin, highlighting the need for Jesus.4. **Freedom in Christ:** - Those in Christ are set free from the law of sin and death. - Galatians 2:20 discusses living by faith in Christ, not by flesh.5. **Spirit vs. Flesh:** - Believers live in the tension between flesh and Spirit. - Setting the mind on the flesh leads to death, the Spirit leads to life and peace.6. **Holy Spirit's Presence:** - Romans 8:9 emphasizes the Spirit dwelling in believers. - The Spirit is essential; without Him, one does not belong to Christ.7. **Dwelling in the Spirit:** - The Spirit wants to dwell in us, impacting every aspect of life. - Importance of being in God's Word and fellowship for spiritual growth. - Colossians 3:16 encourages letting the word of Christ dwell in us.8. **Prayer and the Spirit's Help:** - The Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don't have the words. - Romans 8:26 highlights the Spirit's aid in our weakness.**Practical Applications:**1. **Embrace Your Position in Christ:** - Live with the assurance that you are no longer condemned if you are in Christ. - Reflect on the courtroom analogy when guilt arises.2. **Cultivate Mindset on the Spirit:** - Regularly engage with scripture; let it shape your thoughts and actions. - Seek spiritual fellowship and accountability within the church community.3. **Invite the Holy Spirit to Indwell You:** - Begin each day in prayer, asking for the Holy Spirit's guidance and presence. - Make time for worship and reflection, allowing God to dwell in your daily life.4. **Rely on the Spirit in Weakness:** - When struggling, trust that the Holy Spirit intercedes even when words fail. - Be persistent in prayer and quiet time with God.**Discussion Questions:**1. Pastor Will explores how Advent invites hope amid holiday pressure, grief, and global uncertainty. Looking to Isaiah 2, he shows that God offers a future shaped not by fear but by peace, transformation, and shared journey. Hope grows as we walk together, learn from God, and let God reshape our hearts—taking small steps toward the light even when the world feels dark.
This week, Pastor Will reflects on Philippians 4:6–7 and Paul's bold command: “Do not worry about anything.” From late-night anxieties to everyday pressures, worry pulls us apart — but Paul offers another way. Through prayer, honest requests, and a posture of thanksgiving, we discover the peace of God that gathers us back together. As we enter Thanksgiving week, this message invites us to name our worries, remember our blessings, and find the peace that surpasses understanding.Scripture references: Psalm 100; Deuteronomy 26:1-11; and Philippians 4:6-7“SING WHEREVER I GO” -- CCLI Song #7138601 | Andrew Bergthold | Ed Cash | Franni Cash | Kyle Briskin | Martin Cash | Scott Cash | © 2019 Andrew Bergthold Designee (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | Angie Feel Good Songs (Admin.by Capitol CMG Publishing) | Capitol CMG Genesis (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | Capitol CMG Paragon (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | Neon District Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | We The Kingdom Music (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. Pastor Will shares how Kern Church responded to a local food crisis with compassion, showing that “boring” everyday generosity—paying bills, supporting staff, funding ministry—makes extraordinary impact possible. He reminds us that steady, faithful giving is like sowing seeds: unseen at first, but multiplied by God to change lives, meet real needs, and keep the church's mission alive.

This week, Pastor Will turns to Deuteronomy 30:11–20 and invites us on a kind of “time travel” through Scripture—standing with Moses on the edge of the Promised Land, with the exiles in Babylon, and right here in our own mid-November moment. In a world of endless daily decisions and modern idols, we hear God's simple, challenging call to us as a community: choose life, together, and build a future of hope.Scripture references: Psalm 1:1-3; John 15:1-11; and Deuteronomy 30:11-20“WE CHOOSE PRAISE” -- CCLI Song # 7238059 | Dameon Aranda | David Wellman | Dustin Smith | Stephen Cole | © Acorns To Oaks Publishing; Bell Music Publishing; Life.Church Publishing Group; Remaining portion is unaffiliated | For use solely with the SongSelect® Terms of Use. Romans 7 presents us with one of the most raw and vulnerable passages in all of Scripture, where we encounter the apostle Paul wrestling with a tension that every believer knows intimately: the struggle between who we are in Christ and the sin that still clings to our flesh. This passage doesn't offer us a polished, perfect Christianity—instead, it invites us into the messy reality of spiritual transformation. We discover that being saved doesn't make us perfect; it makes us forgiven. The profound truth here is that we are no longer 'in the flesh' but we are still 'of the flesh'—we've been freed from sin's dominion, yet we still battle its presence. Paul's honest confession 'I do not understand my own actions' resonates deeply because it mirrors our own experience. We find ourselves doing the very things we hate and failing to do the good we desire. This isn't a sign that our salvation is invalid; rather, it's evidence of the spiritual war raging within every Christ-follower. The beauty emerges when Paul asks not 'what will deliver me?' but 'who will deliver me?'—pointing us away from self-help solutions toward the only One who can truly save us. The answer comes thundering through: 'Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord,' followed immediately by the liberating declaration of Romans 8:1—'There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.' We're reminded that our Father stands with arms wide open, not waiting to condemn us for our failures, but inviting us to run to Him with every struggle, every sin, every moment of weakness.### Detailed Sermon Notes**Introduction:**- Pastor Will introduces himself and shares his recent mission trip to Malawi and South Africa. He emphasizes the gratitude for the church's support, which enables partnerships and gospel sharing in extremely impoverished regions.**Scripture Focus (Romans 7:13-25):**- **Struggle with Sin:** - Paul's honesty about his battle with sin highlights a universal Christian experience. - Believers are of the flesh yet in Christ, creating a tension of living according to the Spirit while wrestling with sinful nature. - Paul's question, "Why do I do what I don't want to do?" resonates with many believers.**Life as a Journey:**- **Analogy of the River:** - Life's path before Christ is like flowing downstream. Conversion is the turning point, representing the choice to paddle upstream against worldly currents.**Personal Story:**- Will shares a story of his son breaking a TV and promptly confessing, illustrating how God desires us to come to Him after we fail, instead of trying to fix things on our own.**Main Points:**- **Human Nature vs. Divine Calling:** - Despite being saved, Christians have an ongoing struggle with sin due to their fleshly nature. - Quoting John MacArthur, Will explains that believers are not "in" the flesh but "of" it, highlighting the continuous internal conflict.**Closing Message:**- Only Jesus, not human efforts, can deliver from sin's power.- Encourages transparency within the church, fostering a community where individuals can confess struggles without judgment.### Practical Applications1. **Embrace Transparency:** - Cultivate authentic relationships within the church by admitting and discussing personal struggles.2. **Run to God:** - Develop a habit of confessing sins to God promptly and seeking His strength to overcome, rather than relying on self-improvement techniques.3. **Rely on Grace:** - Focus on understanding and relying on God's grace through Christ, rather than attempting to achieve righteousness through personal effort.4. **Scripture Engagement:** - Regularly read and meditate on Scripture to reinforce the truth of God's grace and the ongoing internal battle with sin.### Discussion Questions1. **Personal Reflection:** - Describe a time when you felt like Paul, struggling between your desires and your actions. How did you handle it?2. **The Role of Grace:** - How can embracing God's grace daily help you in your struggle against sin?3. **Community Support:** - In what ways can you contribute to making the church a more open and accepting environment for vulnerability and authenticity?4. **Prayerful Dependence:** - What steps can you take to run to God and seek His help whenever you face temptation or failure?

In Luke 17:11-19, we hear the story of the healing of ten lepers, and receive a challenge from Jesus that reminds us to make giving thanks to God a central part of our lives.“I THANK GOD” -- CCLI Song # 7169680 | Aaron Moses | Chuck Butler | Dante Bowe | Enrique Holmes | Jesse Cline | Maryanne J. In his message on “Do Not Steal,” Pastor Will Ford explains that this commandment is about more than taking possessions—it's about loving and trusting God completely. People often steal out of fear, greed, or a lack of faith in God's provision, but true freedom comes from believing He is our Provider. Stealing can also mean robbing others of dignity, time, or trust—and even robbing God of worship. When we withhold praise or offer half-hearted worship, we align with the enemy, the first thief. Through passionate, wholehearted worship, we reclaim what's been stolen—God's presence, joy, and blessing. Ultimately, Pastor Will reminds us that we've all been forgiven much, and our response should be radical love and gratitude that gives God all the glory.
When we walk with Jesus we can start to wonder what's next in our walk and that question can lead us anywhere. Pastor Will uses a story in the bible to help us answer that exact question.
