It is the culmination of a year's worth of travel across the U.S., as Brennan Hinton spent extended time in residency in Corsicana, TX, Martha's Vineyard, MA, and Fishers Island, NY. Brennan Hinton's practice focuses on the sustained act of observation, the plein-air discipline, and painting's ability to capture the essence of a place. The time spent in three distinctive towns, each in its own ways divergent from Brennan Hinton's familiar Ontario, required the artist to meet each place with open eyes and a fresh palette. To situate himself, Brennan Hinton leaned on two formative texts, Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry and Moby Dick by Herman Melville, which are each set in the same landscapes in which he painted. Keiran Brennan Hinton (b. 1992, Toronto) lives and works in Toronto and Elgin, Ontario. He received his BFA from Pratt Institute in 2014 and his MFA from Yale University in 2016. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Ogunquit Museum of Art, Ogunquit, ME and The Dennos Museum Center, Traverse City, MI. Past international solo shows of Brennan Hinton's work include exhibitions at MAKI Gallery, Tokyo, Japan (2022); Thomas Fuchs Gallery, Stuttgart, Germany (2021); Charles Moffett, New York, NY (2023, 2021); Nicholas Robert Gallery, Ontario (2022); and Francesco Pantaleone Gallery, Palermo, Italy (2019) among others. August 26, 2006. Hinton, Alberta. After failing to reach her on the radio or the telephone, the supervisor of 70-year old Stephanie Stewart travels to the Athabasca Lookout Tower in the province's foothills, where Stephanie is posted as a seasonal fire spotter. When he arrives, the supervisor finds a smear of blood on the front steps of Stephanie's cabin and a pot of water on the stove, but there is no sign of her anywhere. Since bed sheets and other items are also missing from the cabin, there is speculation that Stephanie was murdered by someone who transported her body from the scene and disposed of it, but she cannot be found and there are no solid suspects or a known motive for her disappearance.  May 3, 1983. Hinton, Alberta. After spending the evening with her boyfriend at the Sunset Trailer Court, 16-year old Shelley-Anne Bacsu phones her mother to let her know that an unnamed friend will be picking her up and driving her home. Shelley-Anne never arrives, but a number of witnesses report having seen her walking down Alberta Highway 16 before she disappeared. Some of Shelley-Anne's clothing and personal items are found scattered on a road next to the Athabasca River, but while her family suspects that she was harmed by someone who gave her a ride, no trace of Shelley-Anne is ever found. Everywhere you look, AI is promising to make life easier by taking more off our plate. Rodney Hinton Jr. is faces the possibility of the death penalty if he's convicted of the aggravated murder of a sheriff's deputy. Prosecutors in Hamilton County, Ohio said Hinton intentionally drove into a Deputy Larry Henderson in May after watching body-worn camera footage of a police officer from another agency shooting and killing his son. Hinton's lawyer has said he was mentally ill at the time and now a court-ordered evaluation is back with results. Henderson's' widow has also filed a lawsuit in connection to the case. This is part two of a two-part series about our 2025 Canada motorcycle trip. In July of 2025, members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media along with members of the Sworn Few LEMC embarked on a 11-day, 4000-mile, Canadian cross-country motorcycle trip. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta We stayed over in cities such as Williams Lake, Stewart, Watson Lake, Fort St. John, Hinton, Canmore, Revelstoke, and Kelowna. This is part one of a two-part series about our 2025 Canada motorcycle trip. In July of 2025, members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media along with members of the Sworn Few LEMC embarked on a 11-day, 4000-mile, Canadian cross-country motorcycle trip. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta We stayed over in cities such as Williams Lake, Stewart, Watson Lake, Fort St. John, Hinton, Canmore, Revelstoke, and Kelowna. Widow of Slain Ohio Deputy Sues Alleged Killer's Family Over Fundraisers The widow of a retired Ohio sheriff's deputy has filed a civil lawsuit against the family of the man accused of killing her husband, accusing them of profiting off his alleged crime through online fundraisers. Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, is currently in the Clermont County Jail, charged with aggravated murder for the May 2, 2024 death of Larry Henderson, a 57-year-old retired Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy who was working a special duty traffic detail during the University of Cincinnati's commencement ceremonies. Authorities say that Hinton deliberately accelerated his silver Ford Focus and struck Henderson from behind while he was directing traffic at the intersection of Jefferson and Corry Streets near the university's Fifth Third Arena. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Hinton turning around after initially driving past Henderson, circling back, and intentionally aiming the vehicle at the deputy. Henderson was thrown several feet and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a hospital. Police say the attack appeared to be motivated by rage and grief, as just one day earlier, Hinton's 26-year-old son, Ryan Hinton, was shot and killed by Cincinnati police officers during an altercation. According to the Cincinnati Police Department, Ryan Hinton was involved in a domestic violence situation and allegedly charged at officers with a knife before being fatally shot. Body camera footage was shown to Rodney Hinton shortly after the incident, and his defense attorney has since claimed that seeing the video triggered a psychotic break. Prosecutors, however, allege that Hinton acted with intent, describing the incident as a targeted and deliberate attack on law enforcement. They charged him with aggravated murder, felonious assault, and vehicular homicide. At his arraignment, prosecutors noted the calculated nature of the attack and emphasized that Henderson had no connection to the officer who shot Ryan Hinton. Following Hinton's arrest, members of his family created crowdfunding campaigns on platforms including GoFundMe and GiveSendGo to raise money for legal expenses and family support. These fundraisers were met with swift backlash from law enforcement organizations and political officials, who condemned them as an exploitation of a tragic crime. Both platforms ultimately removed the campaigns after public outcry. On July 14, 2025, Henderson's widow filed a wrongful death lawsuit in Clermont County Common Pleas Court against Rodney Hinton and several of his family members. The lawsuit, claims that the fundraisers amassed over $100,000 and that the family capitalized on Hinton's "public status and notoriety gained solely through his criminal act of killing Deputy Henderson."
