In this phenomenal conversation with editor Spenser Reich, ACE, we learn how this early science enthusiast came to be a film and TV editor on series like STARZ's Power Book IV: Force and Power Book II: Ghost. Spenser proudly reps the South Bay, San Jose, and it was actually the conversations Spenser's parents made a point to have after going to the cinema when Spenser was young that may have offered an early inkling at what would become a professional interest. About the age of 17 or 18, she decided that she wanted to become a filmmaker because of a strong love for storytelling. After moving to LA for film school and through a process of deduction, she arrived at an interest solidly focused on editing, coming to recognize the adoration as a 'love thing.' When it comes to Black women editors, at that time, she was only familiar with one, a previous Post In Black guest, the great Terilyn Shropshire. Spenser notes there's a specialness in what Black editors and filmmakers capture, bringing honest experiences into their work, mentioning Spike Lee, Boots Riley and Ryan Coogler. Having edited features and episodic TV, we talk about her approach to working within both and whether or not it depends on the genre. Spenser talks about why organization is key in the editing space as well as the power of being able to work effectively in a collaborative setting with other people and why dedication to the work is so necessary. We talk the importance of building a community and helping others within the scope of networking and why Spenser says it's her mission statement. Some of her credentials include Diarra from Detroit for Paramount+, whose executive producers are Kenya Barris and Diarra Kilpatrick, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, the film, SAMSON, which won the Audience Award for Narrative Feature Film at the 2023 Asian American International Film Festival and the series, Physics Girl for PBS. (כן ולא), גופרו שואלת תמונות מגולש שלה, וקופת מקוק שצילמה תמונה לא תזכה בזכויות יוצרים     סיכום אייפון שמענו השבוע כל כך הרבה על האייפון החדש, שמבחינה חדשותית אין הרבה מה להגיד עליו, אז בואו נדבר על אכזבות. האם האייפונים החדשים מאכזבים? קודם כל נספר לכם שהאייפון X לא מגיע עם המטען המהיר שסיפרו שיש לו, וצריך לשלם עליו עוד 50 דולר. וגם המחיר של האייפדים עלה, ומחיר הבסיס של האייפון עלה מ-650 ל-700 דולר.   כמדי שנה, היו ציפיות לקראת השקת האייפון, קליימקס בהשקה עצמה, ואז אכזה וקריאות שאפל לא מחדשת יותר. זה מדגדג בכלל לאפל? פחחח. לא. אז למה מתאכזבים. לא הייתי צריך יותר מ-3 דקות בשביל למצוא בגוגל כותרות שקושרות את ההשקות של האייפון לאכזבות. בין אם הקהל מתאכזב, ובין אם אנחנו עיתונאי הטכנולוגיה מתאכזבים בשמו של הקהל ונוזפים באפל שאנחנו רוצים יותר. עוד כמה שניות על גוגל, ואפשר למצוא כותרות שמדברות על אכזבה מהאייפון עוד לפני שהשיקו אותו! ועכשיו למציאות. רק ברבעון האחרון – השלישי של 2017 נמכרו 41.03 מיליון אייפונים. שזה יותר משנה שעברה ויותר מתחזיות של וול סטריט. כל אחד מהאייפונים ה"מאכזבים" נמכר בעשרות עד מאות מיליונים.  נכון ל-1 באוגוסט, לפי נתוני אפל למשקיעים, נמכרו 1.2 מיליארד (!) אייפונים – ב-10 שנים, מאז שיצא האייפון הראשון. המכירות בגרף שפשוט עולה משנה לשנה.   אז מה הולך כאן? בואו נדבר על אכזבה וציפיה. מאייפון לאייפון כבר אין ציפיות להפתעות כי הכל כבר דולף. פעם אפל הצליחה לשמור את המידע לעצמה, ועכשיו אנחנו די יודעים הכל מראש בגלל הדלפות, אז אין אפקט של וואו. אז עיתונאים שכבר נחשפו להכל מפהקים כי אין להם כותרת לתת, אבל הקהל די מתלהב מזה, כי לא אכפת לו אם זה היה בכותרת או לא. החידושים מתחלקים לשניים: דברים טכניים – כמו מעבד מהר יותר ויותר פיקסלים במצלמה. אבל נו, המצלמה כבר עכשיו מצלמת מעולה, מה יעזרו לי עוד פיקסלים? למה אני צריך את זה? השני – פיצ'רים חדשים. באייפון X למשל זה זיהוי הפנים. זה מדהים, אבל כבר היה קודם בשלל מכשירים מתחרים. אז מה חידשתם? התשובה לכל השאלות האלה היא עיצוב ושיווק. המכשירים של אפל לא נראים כמו משהו גנרי שיצא מפס ייצור. הם נראים כאילו מישהו ישב על כל קימור וקיעור  ודאג שהם יהיו יפים. אפל יודעת למכור פיצ'ר כמו זיהוי פנים, כאילו זה הדבר הכי מדהים שראינו, ולא משהו גנרי. אמנות המצגת על הבמה היא נכס לא פחות חשוב מפטנטים טכנולוגיים.  המצגות שלהם הם קונצרט רוק ובכל הספרות והכתבות על סטיב ג'ובס, למי שיצא להיחשף, מתואר כמה הוא היה פרפקציוניסט פדנט. היה יושב על על פיקסל בתוכנה,מתעקש בקנאות על כל מלימטר בקופסה שעוטפת את המוצר, ועושה אירוע שנעים לצפות בו ולא מלא בגרפים כאילו אני בכנס שיווק במתנ"ס. מוזר לי לדבר במונחים של כת. אבל יש אנשים שאוהבים אייפונים. זה התחביב שלהם. כמו שיש אנשים שירוצו בכל העולם אחרי להקה מסויימת ויגיעו להופעות שלה, או ישלמו מאות שקלים לסטנדאפיסט שמגיע לארץ, או יקנו משקפי שמש מסוימים, או יאכלו המבורגר מסויים. יש חיבה למותגים, ואפל מצליחה לשמר את עצמה כמותג נחשק בזכות. המוצרים של אפל, לאורך זמן, פשוט ממש ממש טובים ונוחים. נכון, בין דגם ה-S6 לדגם ה-6 ההבדלים לא תמיד משמעותיים. אבל אם מסתכלים לאורך שלוש-ארבע ואפילו 10 שנים – לאפל היו קפיצות דרך טכנולוגיות. מערכת ההפעלה ה"סגורה" של אפל שמתלוננים עליה מאפשרת להם לשדרג לכולם בו זמנית ולהציע אותם פיצ'רים לרוב בעלי האייפונים. מה שאין באנדרואיד. אייפון הצליחה לבדל את עצמה. יש עשרות אלפי דגמי אנדרואיד ומי שרוצה אנדרואיד יש לו מבחר עצום. אייפון – יש דגמים בודדים שאפשר לבחור מהם. גופרו שאלה צילומים גופרו גנבה לדווין סופרטארמפ את הווידאו כי הוא השתמש בין השאר במצלמות שלהם והוא ממש לא מרוצה מזה. דווין גראהם הוא צלם ויוצר סרטים מוכר שמצלם סרטים בכל העולם וכל פעם הוא מביא חבורה של חובבי ספורט אתגרי לביצוע הפעלולים. הפעם סובארו מימנה את הצילומים והעלילה המאוד תלושה היא שהם פעלולן מחליקים על מגלשת מים מצוק ואחר כך לפני שהם נמרחים על התהום, פותחים מצנח ונוחתים למטה בשלום ונוסעים משם ברכב של סוברו. האירוע, ומאחורי הקלעים שלו, תועדו במצלמות גו פרו ב-4K ובהילוך איטי. כמה חודשים אחרי מועד הפרסום הוא מצא את הווידאו שלו בערוץ של גופרו. הוא טוען שמעולם לא ביקשו ממנו רשות להשתמש בחומרים שלו ולמעשה לא טרחו לענות לו כשהוא פנה אליהם. בסופו של דבר הסרטון הוסר אבל לא כי גופרו הסירה אלא כי דווין הגיש תביעה של זכויות יוצרים דרך הממשק של יוטיוב ואלה הסירו את הסרטון מהערוץ שלהם.   גופרו, שאגב בחודש הקרוב תשיק את ההירו 6 שלה נוהגת באופן קבוע ללקט דברים מטורפים שלקוחות שלה צילמו, כאשר תמיד יש חשד שזה מבויים – כמו במקרה המפורסם שעיט גנב מצלמה. ונו, אם זה מבויים, אז כל הכבוד לבמאי שהצליח לביים עיט. אלא שפעם זו נראות כמו טעות מוזרה, כי גופרו בדרך כלל משלמת על תוכן של לקוחות שצילמו במצלמות שלה.   קופה נגד צלם טבע ואפרופו זכויות יוצרים, צלם הטבע דיוויד סלייטר טס ב-2008 לאינדונזיה לצלם צילומי טבע. הוא הניח את המצלמה שלו על חצובה, כיוונן כל מה שצריך והשאיר אותה דולקת עם השלט חשוף. הקופים התחילו לשחק במצלמה, עד שקופת מקוק בשם נארוטו לקחה אותה ויצרה סלפי לפי אחת הגירסאות (סלייטר טוען שהיה מדובר בקוף אחר). הוא פירסם את התמונה הנדירה שלוש שנים לאחר מכן, אבל אז בוויקימדיה מפעילי וויקיפדיה פירסמו אותה בטענה שהיא נחלת הכלל כי זכויות היוצרים שייכות לקופה ולא לסלייטר עצמו. הוא התנגד לטענה הזאת ואמר שהוא הגיע לשם עם מצלמה והקים את הסט אפ שהוליד את התמונה. זה הגיע ב-2014 לבית המשפט. אחרי כמה דיונים הוחלט שמה לעשות, קופה לא יכולה לקבל זכויות יוצרים. אפשר לראות בסרט את אחד הדיונים, והשופט שואל ברצינות מה מעניק לפיתה את הסמכות לייצג את אותה קופה, אם יש לה זכויות משלה.     ארגון PETA  – אנשים למען יחס אתי לבעלי חיים ערער, וסוף סוף הסאגה הזאת הגיעה השבוע לסיומה בפשרה שלפיה זכויות היוצרים אמנם שייכות לסלייטר, אך הוא ישלם 25 אחוז מהרווחים על התמונה כתרומה למען בעלי חיים. המלצה בדקה שחר ממליץ על Physics Girl   אהוד על העונה החדשה של רון שפעם כמעט ושיחק אצלנו בסרט סטודנטים אבל הוא הלך על מישהו אחר במקום.     The post קופת אייפון X גנובה ומאכזבת – 113 appeared first on Low Battery.
