Blake Lovell and Max Barr discuss and rank all 16 SEC basketball teams after Week 7 of the 2024-25 season. Topics include: Alabama is no stranger to holiday travel. The Tide escaped a scary one in North Dakota on Wednesday before crushing Kent State at home on Sunday. Arkansas has only played twice in the past two weeks, dominating both Central Arkansas and North Carolina A&T. Right when Jonas Aidoo looks to be back to his normal self, Johnell Davis' wrist is still bothering him. The injuries have been so unfortunate to this point. Auburn had an early week scare after Johni Broome's shoulder popped out vs. Georgia State only to mop the floor with Purdue on Saturday. The Tigers are in a legitimate conversation of being one of the best teams we've ever seen through 7 weeks. Florida picked up their marquee win of the Non-Con with a 90-84 win over North Carolina in Charlotte, then putting a stamp on the week with a destruction of respectable North Florida. The Gators are cruising. Kentucky laid their first egg of the Pope era on Saturday with an ugly 20-point loss to a short-handed Ohio State team. The Cats drop from 11th to 26th in KenPom, overreaction or correctly ranked now? LSU had an easy week taking care of Stetson and New Orleans at home, with Mississippi Valley State as the last Non-Con game for the Tigers. Ole Miss hasn't played a top-200 team since Louisville on December 3rd, but how can you knock the Rebels when they have been taking care of business. Sean Pedulla is the most underrated guard in the league through 7 weeks. Mississippi State responds to the doubters with a two-game thrashing of Central Michigan and Memphis. The Bulldogs win at Memphis jumped them from 26th to 18th in KenPom, rank this team! Oklahoma continues to silence the haters, beating Michigan on a neutral floor on Wednesday and taking care of Central Arkansas on Sunday. Porter Moser, undefeated. South Carolina notches an absolutely massive signature win over Clemson at home in overtime. The Radford win shouldn't be looked over either, Radford is a very solid mid-major. Tennessee hasn't played since Tuesday when they destroyed Western Carolina by 48, nothing new for Rick Barnes and company. The Vols have two testy mid-majors upcoming before SEC play. Texas A&M crushed Houston Christian in their only game of the week but the injury status of Wade Taylor is the main story here. Vanderbilt continues to tally wins, already two more wins than the entire year last year (9-23). The Commodores should enter SEC play on a 6-game streak.
