A great amount of parental guilt has been fueled by taking the words of Proverbs 22:6 as a promise: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when is old he will not turn from it.” The first half of that Proverb includes an imperative that we must follow. The responsibility we have to nurture our children in the faith is non-negotiable. But the result mentioned in the second half isn't a guarantee. Rather, it's a general statement about the way things may end up. The reality is that history and the world around us are filled with examples of wonderful, committed, diligent Godly parents whose first priority in life has been to train up their children in the way they should go, only to see some of those children choose to go in the opposite direction. What we can't forget is that ultimately, it is God's Spirit that brings about the change in our child's heart. We have no clue when that change may come. Our duty is to remain faithful and obedient in our calling as followers of Jesus.
Church Covenant Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this Church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion, to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportments; to avoid all tattling, back-biting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offense but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay. We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will as soon as possible unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

Father & Son Discuss Personal “Prodigal Son” Story It's not quite as dramatic as it sounds, and then it is. My son never disappeared from home and destroyed his entire life. But for a while he purposefully left God and put himself in dangerous situations. The most dangerous was jeopardizing his soul and future with God. He broke his trust with me and his mom, and broke our hearts for a time. He set a destructive example for his siblings, his friends, and his girlfriend. Had a couple of situations gone differently, he could've ended up in much worse conditions. After a lot of difficult conversations and moments, It finally snapped in his mind and he returned full force in humility, confession, and repentance. This is a discussion from both sides about those times and implications as well as lessons learned. #SmallYouTubers #BibleStudy Have a Bible question? What are the most important things you want to pass on to your children and see woven into the fabric of their character? Like the old three “R’s” of education, the three “R’s” of parenting, relationship, respect and responsibility, are indispensable in the development of our children.
3 areas where we need hope: marriage, children, community Hope was initiated in the garden, materialized in the manger and culminated on the cross.
In Part 2 of Storied Parenting, Chris and Beth Bruno talk about their paradigm of parenting that shifts everything from how we handle correction with 4-year olds to how we encourage 14-year olds. Our children are stories to be discovered. Our role as parents is to awaken in them the story they were meant to write.Learn more about Storied Parenting and the Bruno's approach:Fierce & LovelyFierce & Lovely Mini-CoursesFierce & Lovely PodcastRestoration ProjectNo Regrets

Today's message is a continuation by Pastor Marc Sharp of the series looking at 15 Psalms (Psalms 120-134) designated as “Songs of Ascents”. These Psalms are God’s guidebook for right worship in the church. Psalms 127 is the only song attributed to someone other than David. In this case, it’s attributed to King Solomon, his son. The people who originally sang this song were making their way to Jerusalem, and specifically to the Temple, the construction of which was overseen by Solomon.
