In this powerful episode, Pastor Karl continues into the book of First Timothy, exploring the apostle Paul's heartfelt letter to his young protégé, Timothy, written from prison as Paul faced the end of his life. Pastor Karl unpacks the timeless charge to Timothy, who was leading the church in Ephesus, emphasizing the critical role of the church as a place of grace and sound doctrine. He highlights Paul's call to guard biblical truth and guide people into it, especially in a world prone to drift and doubt. Moving into chapter four, Pastor Karl draws parallels between athletic training and spiritual discipline, urging believers to "train like it matters" in godliness. He challenges the church to assess its commitment to grace, doctrine, and collective prayer, while encouraging individuals to set a standard in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. With passion and practical insight, Pastor Karl calls us to resist cultural pressures, pursue disciplined discipleship, and embrace the eternal value of a life rooted in faith. The spiritual path is beautiful... but it can also feel incredibly lonely. As you awaken, grow, and shift into deeper alignment with your soul, you may find yourself feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or like no one truly “gets it.” In this episode, I'm opening up about the often-unspoken loneliness that can accompany spiritual growth—and why it's not a sign you're doing it wrong, but rather that you're being called into deeper connection.I'll also share how this path doesn't have to be walked alone—and how the Mystical Membership was born from this very need. It's a sacred space for sensitives, empaths, and awakening souls to feel held, supported, and seen as they explore their spirituality in community.

Ministers Rest | Mar 31, 2025 You are called to something greater than religious routine. The Kingdom of God isn't built on corporate structures or CEO-style leadership, but on the ancient foundation of authentic community where every believer functions as a priest. Your primary identity isn't as a churchgoer but as part of the ecclesia—a legislative body with spiritual authority. Return to the original pattern. The current expression of Christianity has largely departed from its New Testament roots, where believers gathered not to watch professionals perform but to participate as equals, each contributing according to their spiritual gifts. This isn't about buildings or budgets but about becoming living temples where God's presence dwells. Embrace the cost of authentic ministry. True Kingdom work requires dying to self—to ambition, recognition, and the desire for financial security. The path forward isn't through self-promotion but through humility and service. Many who appear successful in ministry are building with materials that won't survive divine inspection. Restore village life. When Deborah arose as judge, she noted that "village life had ceased." Similarly, today's individualistic Christianity must give way to genuine community where needs are shared and met. No one should go hungry while others have plenty. This requires vulnerability and the willingness to be known beyond superficial connections. Become legislative authorities. You aren't merely called to worship but to exercise spiritual authority in your sphere of influence. Like Daniel who operated within Babylon while remaining uncompromised, you can transform systems from within by allowing God's life to flow through you. Let the Holy Spirit lead. Don't build according to patterns you've observed but according to the Spirit's guidance. Pure ministry flows from revelation, not imitation. Your calling is unique and requires a willingness to look different from what's currently accepted. Prioritize Christ above all. The scriptures point to Jesus, not to methods for meeting needs. When you encounter Him, you'll naturally become a conduit of His life to others. Building accurately means keeping Him at the center rather than focusing on growth, numbers, or influence. The world awaits your awakening. Creation groans for the manifestation of sons who understand their authority and identity. As you align with God's original intent for His ecclesia, you'll release transformation that extends far beyond religious gatherings into every system and structure around you. In our current moment of cultural fragmentation and existential anxiety, the traditional frameworks of engagement feel increasingly inadequate. Andrew Root's latest work, “Evangelism in an Age of Despair” isn't just a theological treatise, or a how-to evangelism book, but a profound meditation on human connection in an age of profound disconnection. What happens when we shift our understanding of evangelism from a transactional model of belief to a relational practice of genuine with-ness? Andy suggests something more radical than conversion: a form of spiritual presence that honors the complexity of human suffering. We're living through an era where loneliness has become a systemic condition, where happiness is marketed as a consumable product, and where genuine human vulnerability is increasingly rare. Root's approach doesn't offer easy solutions, but instead proposes a more nuanced engagement with our collective pain. This conversation is less about religious doctrine and more about the fundamental human need for meaningful connection - a need that transcends ideological boundaries and touches something more elemental about how we understand ourselves and each other. Join us as we seek the consolation of Christ in the desolation of our lives. Unity is a non-denominational Spiritual Community in Central Oregon. Join us each week for some great music, a little bit of silliness, and a lot of inspirational soul food. All are welcome! This week: Nate Hitchcock shares, “The Relentless Pursuit of Love”. (Note: This presentation includes frequent curse words and mature themes like drug use and suicide. This is not common in our Sunday talks, however we try to honor the presentation style of individual guest speakers.) A great poet once said, "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return." Unfortunately, Humanity has a bad habit of treating Love as if it were a Noun, something that can be manufactured, acquired or earned. Something that we can own and possess and mount on a plaque and hang on a wall, or stuff into a box and put in a closet for safe keeping. Join us this Sunday as Nate Hitchcock explores this thing called Love, and the pitfalls of our relentless pursuit of it that begins the moment we are born. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ Submit your prayer claims online!: http://bit.ly/prayerclaim Please TXT donations to: (833) 455-1960 or Donate on our website: https://unitycentraloregon.org/donate/ Donate via Paypal: http://bit.ly/donateunitybend More goodness on our website: [www.UnityCentralOregon.org](http://www.unitycentraloregon.org/)

Is life wearing you out? Are you feeling dry and thirsty? Life can be brutal. So how do we replenish ourselves and find strength for the journey. The answer the Bible gives is worship. From the beginning of time, worship has been at the heart of living a life of faith. Every generation of believers, in every culture, have included worship songs as a central element of their weekly gathering. Why? What are we missing? What is worship? Why do we need it? And how do we do it?
Sandra went to see the new Dylan movie which reminded her how tight the community was in the 1960s, and how they stood together during challenging times and did not sit down but connected and demonstrated.Today it seems like the spiritual community is more disconnected from each other and still have some work to do to transcend the ego and shadow states that want us to divide and use blaming behavior.Join Sandra and Renee for this important show on the need for the spiritual community to come together and stand together in order to help to make lasting changes for one's personal life and community.
In this sermon, Emily Perry explores the idea of spiritual community through the lens of A Course in Miracles. Drawing parallels with Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Life Together, Emily covers key teachings on spiritual love versus human love, emphasizing the importance of seeing each other as divine rather than idealized, and the role of service in fostering true community. Through practical examples from Bonhoeffer's “ministries,” such as the Ministry of Listening and the Ministry of Bearing, this sermon encourages us to commit to a life of love, forgiveness, and mutual support, embodying the vision of a beloved community. ___________________________ Since 1993, our purpose has been to help with both the theory and practical application of A Course in Miracles. This Sunday Pastor Jeff resumes our sermon series entitled “Called Together,” as we continue exploring various questions about what it means to be church together. We've already explored why you need us, and why we need you. Now this week we'll explore why the world needs us. Given the way many churches are these days, lots of people might say that church is the last thing the world needs more of! Sadly, there's a lot of truth to that. But what if churches lived up the fullness of Jesus' vision? What would that look like? And how can we be that? Join us on Sunday for a thought-provoking sermon.
