Wondering what's actually affecting how you trust yourself, make decisions, and run your business?I'm exposing the dark side of the spiritual community: how misrepresentation, lack of discernment, and unhealed wounds are being labeled as intuition—and why that's creating confusion, self-doubt, and inconsistency for spiritual entrepreneurs. If you've ever felt like you “knew” something… but didn't trust it in the moment… this is for you.I'm breaking down what intuition actually is, how it shows up as discernment, gut instinct, and inner knowing—and why you've been trained to question it instead of trust it.I'm also sharing why this pattern doesn't just stay personal—it directly impacts your confidence, your decisions, and your ability to create consistent income in your spiritual business. The Tea I am spilling:what's really happening in the spiritual community right nowthe difference between true intuition and emotional interpretationwhy you keep second-guessing yourself (even when you were right)how lack of trust in your intuition creates inconsistency in your businesshow to start recognizing your inner knowing in real timeIf you're a spiritual entrepreneur, coach, healer, or intuitive woman who wants to trust yourself, stop overthinking, and build a clear, consistent, profitable business—this episode will bring it into focus.I've also created a training to help you unlock your psychic intuition so you can recognize and trust your inner knowing without second-guessing it. In This Episode: This one might ruffle some feathers – and that's okay. If you're an intuitive, a healer, or anyone who moves in spiritual circles, chances are you've either given or received an unsolicited reading, energy transmission, or prayer. In this episode, Seryna names what the spiritual community doesn't like to talk about: that energetic consent is non-negotiable, and that bypassing it – no matter how gifted or well-meaning you are – is a boundary violation. This is a compassionate but direct conversation about spiritual arrogance, ego in service clothing, and what it actually looks like to honour someone's free will and agency. What You'll Discover: Why "just because you can doesn't mean you should" is the most important principle for intuitives and healers How unsolicited readings – even loving ones – can be destabilizing, intrusive, and even retraumatizing The shadow motivation hiding beneath most unsolicited readings (hint: it's about the reader, not the recipient) Why sending healing energy or prayers without permission is still an energetic boundary violation – and a grace-based workaround What enthusiastic energetic consent actually looks like in practice How professional power dynamics make unconsented readings even more problematic Episode Highlights: 00:32 - The unpopular opinion: why your gift doesn't give you permission 01:14 - What unsolicited readings actually look like (and why we've normalized them) 02:17 - The shadow beneath the service: proving energy and the need to be special 04:05 - Unsolicited readings defined: messages, downloads, and blurred professional lines 06:03 - Sending healing and prayers without consent – and how to use the laws of grace instead 08:23 - Why accessing someone's energy field without permission is a boundary violation 11:24 - Free will as one of our greatest gifts – and what it means to rob someone of it 12:23 - When mediumship gets personal: a real example of destabilization 16:07 - The uncomfortable truth: unsolicited readings are about the reader's ego 18:52 - What enthusiastic energetic consent actually looks like 22:01 - The nuance: spontaneous insight, intuitive relationships, and knowing when not to use your gift 24:51 - Announcement: Due North intuitive development program may be returning this fall About Energetic Consent and the Spiritual Community's Blind Spot: The spiritual community has a consent problem – and the reason no one talks about it is because it's dressed up as love, service, and gift-sharing. When someone stops you to deliver a message from Spirit, or quietly tunes into your energy during a conversation, or sends you healing you didn't ask for, the intention is almost always good. But intention doesn't determine impact. Accessing someone's energy field without permission is a boundary violation. Full stop. It doesn't matter how gifted you are, how accurate the reading might be, or how much you feel called to share what you're receiving. Energy is information – and to read it without consent is to access something intimate that wasn't offered to you. What makes this particularly difficult to address is that the behaviour is often rooted in something we don't want to look at: the need to validate our gifts, to be seen as special, to prove that we have something meaningful to offer. This isn't conscious for most people. These are genuinely heart-centred, service-oriented individuals. But the shadow is there, and when the person whose feelings get hurt over a declined reading, that's the tell – it wasn't really about service at all. So many of us have learned that, in spiritual community, disagreement is a problem. We're supposed to be positive. Be loving. Anything else is ego. But what if complete agreement is not actually what love requires? In this Sunday Gathering sermon, we share a message called "Rethinking Disagreement in Spiritual Community," where we explore a powerful question: Is disagreement really unspiritual—or have we misunderstood what love looks like when something isn't right? If you've ever felt the tension between being loving and being honest, this message is for you. Want to join us for a Sunday Gathering? Access is included with a Course Companions membership. Spiritual community is more than just getting together. Repeated phrases in the New Testament point us to community, practices and tradition - the very things Christians also believe some myths about. In this episode of Deep Spirituality, Russ Ewell chats with Matt McChlery about why picking up a book is actually a "rebellion" for your soul in a world of endless scrolling. After interviewing nearly 100 authors, Matt has seen firsthand how the power of story helps us connect with God far better than a dry lecture ever could. They get real about authenticity, sharing that we need to drop the "perfect Christian" mask and be honest about our messy journeys. "I have to talk to you guys today about something I don't want to talk to you about."
I need to talk about something that nobody wants to admit out loud — the crushing weight of spiritual loneliness. Because here's what really happens when you awaken: You don't just feel different from the people around you. You start to feel like you're speaking a language that nobody else can understand. You go to family dinners, and you smile, and you laugh, and you love these people — but inside, there's this growing distance. They're talking about things that feel so surface-level now. Politics. Drama. Who said what. What they bought. And you want to share what's really happening in your life — that you shifted timelines last Tuesday. That you spoke to your higher self in meditation. That you experienced a moment where you literally felt the quantum field respond to your intention. But you don't say it. Because you already know what happens when you do. You see that look. That concerned, loving look that says, "Are you okay? Have you been stressed?" Or worse — that polite smile that means they've already checked out of the conversation. So you learn to edit yourself. You learn to code-switch between worlds. You become fluent in two languages — the language of the awakened, and the language of those still asleep. And the lonelier you get, the more you retreat inward. You meditate alone. You study alone. You experience these profound breakthroughs — alone. And over time, something insidious happens. You start to believe that loneliness is the price of consciousness. That isolation is proof you're on the right path. That if you feel separate, it's because you've evolved beyond the collective. But that's a lie. That's the ego trying to make sense of pain. The truth is this. Loneliness isn't a sign of awakening. It's a sign of disconnection from your true tribe. Because you weren't meant to do this alone. You were never meant to carry this frequency by yourself. Consciousness doesn't evolve in isolation — it evolves in sacred community.

On Sunday Pastor Nate kicked off our new series, “This is the Way.” Early Christians were known as “people of the Way,” because they learned to walk with Jesus and live reflecting God's values. In the book of Acts we read about Spirit-led patterns and practices that were part of the fabric of the early church. In this 5-part series, we'll cover a pattern each week on Sunday and discuss it in Connect Groups throughout the week. The first pattern that Pastor Nate preached about is “Life-Giving Spiritual Community.” We may find community in many relationships, but spiritual community brings life to our soul. If we want the fruit of community, we need to have the roots of commitment to each other. What a powerful message! If you couldn't join on Sunday, check out the message here.
The message was delivered on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar, Senior Minister. DESCRIPTION: What if the true test of freedom is not how fiercely we defend our own views, but how deeply we honor the dignity of those we cannot accept? From Benjamin Franklin's urgent warning to “hang together” to George W. Bush's defense of pluralism after 9/11, history reminds us that unity has always been fragile—and essential. Could small acts of kindness, even toward those we call enemies, shift the course of our nation's divisions? And if so, what might it take for us to rise to a higher love?
