TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ RAFFAELE ATTANASIO "My trajectory, I hope, will always be uphill, in continuous musical evolution... I'm always hungry for new sound experiences, and I'll put all my soul into it." - Raffaele Attanasio Born to a musician father in his home city of Naples, Attanasio was only satiated when listening to virtuoso maestros like Il Guardiano del Faro and Keith Emerson. Developing his prodigious ear, he trained on drums and then piano and his auspicious ability become apparent early. In his late teens, he ventured into DJing and electronic music production and has garnered plaudits from Jeff Mills, Len Faki and Ben Sims; even performing with Mills in a B2B live set and also Octave One. He found a home within the electronic music community, heading his own label Letter From Jerusalem, and releasing on others, such as Third Wave Black and Non Series. His label even released music from Douglas McCarthy of the band Nitzer Ebb. Italian techno Dj and producer, Synthek evolves in Berlin under the wings of his own Natch Records and the residency at Tresor Club. Synthek moved the first steps in his hometown Naples, extending then to the London club scene, before settling in Berlin. Always seeking for new influences, over the past years his musical background had a constant growth, which can be seen through the evolution of his productions and sets, rich of deep rhythmics and powerful, introspective vibes. For the last two years he has made numerous outputs on various labels such as Edec Music, Limited or LC Series. Among his outings we can mention Aaron EP on Translucent Label, his last track “Coherence” for the second episode of D.A.N.C.E. on Attic Music Label and the 2 ep “Reclaim Your City” and “The Storm Abive Us, featured by great remix by Raffaele Attanasio, Mattias Fridell for the 004, and Zadig & Jearon Search for the 005, both on his imprint Natch Records. Moreover several of these releases are supported by many great artists. His first album “Unwise” released on Natch Records with Audiolouis, is a bold sequence of powerful tracks devotedly written for the dancefloor, but still keeps a certain emotional aspect made of few melodic Detroit rooted cuts, standing as a tribute to the author’s primary inspirations. The album has been remixed by some of the most relevant names of the techno scene like Antigone, Zadig, Tadeo, Polar Inertia to name a few. After the long collaboration with Audiolouis, he decided to focus on his solo project and, in the early 2015, launched a new imprint “STK” with the main purpose to release his own productions. Since January 2014, his residency at Tresor allowed him to take care of the New Faces Nights, monthly event focused on the young talents of the Techno scene. Always delivering strong and powerful set, Synthek is characterized by solid mixing skills sharpened through many years behind the desk.

Another week, another amazing podcast. We have not left Italy yet because they keep pushing out good quality techno. Our guest for this episode is as you might think from Italy. This time we are presenting Logotech (@logotech). For this episode you will be hearing a combination of old and new tracks mixed with an edge! We can describe it mildly like this: “Rhythm increases tension while it is moving forward unchallenged through syncopated melodies, hypnotic percussions and building grooves”. In simple words: This will blow your mind and give you amnesia for a minute or two. Q&A 1. What's the story behind your DJ name "Logotech" ? Well the name Logotech cames from a fusion between 2 words: the first is logo that mean tongue/speaking/language in ancient greek. The second word is, obviously, techno! And that's what I am, a guy that speak techno. I've thought about this name when I was 18, then I started to make releases and playing in local parties so from then until now Logotech became my second, and in many cases my first, name. 2. When was the first time you experienced techno, and how did it feel? I've introduced myself in techno world when I was really young. I used to listen an italian techno radio show around 2000 and step by step I get into it. I was very young when I get my first approach with techno but for the first moment I've fallen in love with it and became my purpose. So I started to produce first but for some years I was far from sound I really feel: It was a long journey through a lot of influences and many years of practicing. I've learned everything by myself and I'm really proud about. I am on the way I wished to be and this is great. 3. What are top 3 techno names in the underground scene today? Talking about underground today is an hard topic to me. Today this word is overused and it loss the meaning in my opinion. Anyway about artist I respect there is a long list of names that grows day by day. There is a lot of interesting music that's coming out nowadays. Of course I have a lot of respect for my friends and partners in various projects Mark Morris & Future 16, we have all the same passion and love for music and techno and we are friends since we were teens so we grew up together with same goals, dreams and we still share these feelings. Some other names I want to do are again from the south of Italy: The first in my opinion is the man, Raffaele Attanasio. Without any doubts is one of best producers and live performers I ever heard! The last name is 2030 aka Kalean, he is making some of the most beautiful tunes I've listened in this 15 years of techno. His album on CLFT is an all time masterpiece! 4. Productions/mixes coming up? I'm finishing an EP for Ketra Records. I'm working as Alpha Code on next Zeitgeist Schallplatten (my own project on Bandcamp) and I Have to make a couple of remixes for the next time. About mixes I'll be in 12h no-stop party next 25/10 here in Italy, I'm sure we'll enjoy it! 5. Any extra words or emotions you want to spread to the world? I'm a kind of lone wolf. I like to share emotions with a lot of people but I prefer to do it while I'm on a consolle and these people are dancing all together!
