For Long Island, New York-based entrepreneurial brothers Howard and Steven Silverstein, a fueling issue during a day on the water led to an a-ha moment that inspired an invention: the CLiX. Designed to prevent fuel spills, wasted gas and messy cleanups, the CLiX is a one-click spill prevention system for gasoline and diesel boats – a $39.95 funnel-shaped secure attachment that keeps every drop of fuel in the boat tank. With its custom-blended, biodegradable rubberized material and patent-pending technology, the CLiX is safe for users and the environment, helping boaters fuel up without the fuel ever overflowing onto the vessel or into the water.“I remember when my brother, Steven, asked me to come out on his boat for a day on the water. We had never been to the boat and were very excited about it. When we got there, it turned out that Steven had not been able to fuel it up that day as he normally would for company,” Howard said about the March 2024 outing at the Huntington Yacht Club in New York. “So, there I was, standing with him on the fuel dock while he fueled his boat up. He was calling out to his wife about the fuel level, and she was calling back. It was obvious that this was not like filling a car. It was stressful. I did not know that filling a boat was this difficult.” Steven explained the fueling dilemma to Howard, who examined the problem and instantly came up with a solution. “I sketched it out, and the unit you see now looks almost exactly like what I drew that day,” Howard said. Because Steven's fueling problem was not unique to him, Howard knew he was on to something marketable with his invention. In October 2024, the CLiX officially launched at the IBEX show in Tampa, Florida. The positive feedback has been due, in part, to the fact that there is no other product on the market that does what the CLiX does. “It keeps the fuel in the fill tube and tank where it belongs,” Howard said. “It allows the fueling nozzle to activate the same way it does when filling a car, bringing that level of ease and eliminating all the stress of fueling.” The Silversteins are currently working with select marinas for them to sell directly to their customers and for use by staff as they fuel boats. “We have programs where the marinas can act as either affiliates, receiving a commission for every CLiX sold through our site, or as partners where they buy at a reseller price and sell direct to their marina clients,” Howard said. They are also working on sponsoring programs at marinas. The pair has brought on new partner Greg Friedman to assist with these initiatives. “The programs are focused on the environmental impact of boating and what we all can do to help,” Howard saidT he Silversteins pointed to how marinas can benefit from utilizing the CLiX. “Few spills to clean up means less reporting and less possibility of code violations,” Howard said. “By acting as good stewards of the water around their docks, they keep it free of fuel, creating a healthy environment for the marine life, which marina owners and boaters care so much about." The CLiX won a coveted Innovation Award for 2024 at the IBEX show, and it was also featured at the New York Boat Show and the Miami Boat Show. Garnering these accolades has been a professional coup for the Silversteins, who have both thrived in various business positions throughout their careers. Howard is already working on several other innovative ideas that may continue to help boaters have tranquil experiences on the water.

In a notable collaboration that bridges the worlds of news commentary and comedy, the acclaimed television personality Tucker Carlson made a guest appearance on the popular podcast "This Past Weekend" hosted by comedian Theo Von. Garnering significant attention and an impressive viewership tally, this episode not only showcased the conventional flair and wit of its host but also shone a spotlight on the versatility of Carlson, who is primarily known for his pointed political commentary.Tucker Carlson, a distinguished figure in the realm of political talk shows, is known for his unapologetic and often contentious take on current events, politics, and society. His nightly show on Fox News, "Tucker Carlson Tonight," has made him a household name, drawing millions of viewers who tune in for his direct and often polarizing analyses. On the other side, Theo Von, with a subscriber base of 12 million on his YouTube channel, represents a newer generation of media personalities who blend humor, personal stories, and interviews with a diverse set of guests, ranging from celebrities to athletes, and now, prominent political commentators. The episode, running for a substantial two hours and thirty-six minutes, offered a unique platform for Carlson. Away from the constraints of cable news' often rigid format, he engaged in a more relaxed and in-depth conversation. This change of environment allowed Carlson to unpack his perspectives on a wide array of subjects beyond the immediate churn of daily news, offering insights into his personal beliefs, observations on cultural and societal shifts, and possibly a glimpse into his own life and career pathway. The pairing of Von's comedic sensibility with Carlson's sharp political insight marks a fascinating crossover event, appealing not only to loyal followers of both personalities but also attracting a wider audience intrigued by this melding of genres. It is a testament to the ever-evolving landscape of media and entertainment, where dialogues are no longer confined to traditional platforms or formats, enabling a richer, more versatile exchange of ideas and perspectives. For fans of Theo Von, this episode serves as another example of the host's skill in navigating conversations with a wide range of guests, shedding light on his ability to engage and entertain. ### The Growing Tension Between Destiny and Conservative Commentators Like Tucker CarlsonIn the ever-evolving landscape of political commentary and debate, Destiny, a prominent figure known for his incisive take on politics, social issues, and media, has recently sparked considerable attention. Garnering 9.8K views within just six hours on a recent clip, it's apparent that Destiny's critique of Tucker Carlson and the broader conservative movement has struck a chord with the audience. This engagement underscores a significant and growing divide in the discourse surrounding American politics, especially in the realms of digital and televised media.### The Core of the Controversy: A Clash of IdeologiesAt the heart of this burgeoning tension lies a fundamental clash of ideologies. Destiny, whose real name is Steven Bonnell II, has made a name for himself in the digital space for his readiness to engage in debates that often challenge the status quo of conservative thought. His recent focus on Tucker Carlson, a figure synonymous with right-wing commentary and the face of conservative thought for many Americans, has brought to light the palpable rift within the current political dialogue.Tucker Carlson, hosting his prime-time show on Fox News, commands a considerable audience, wielding significant influence over public opinion and the conservative narrative. His stances on various social and political issues often reflect, and arguably shape, the views of a substantial segment of the American populace. Destiny's critique of Carlson isn't just a personal vendetta but rather a critique of the ideologies Carlson champions, which Destiny argues are indicative of broader issues within current conservative movements.### The Impact of Digital Platforms in Shaping Political DiscourseThe rapid ascent of digital influencers like Destiny in the political arena illustrates a shift in how political discourse is conducted and consumed. Platforms where Destiny thrives offer a more direct, often unfiltered avenue for political engagement and debate, contrasting with the polished, narrative-driven approach of traditional media outlets like Fox News. This divergence in mediums also symbolizes a deeper, more nuanced conflict: the battle for shaping the narrative and influencing public opinion in an age where information is abundant and attention is the ultimate currency.### Moving Forward: The Path Ahead for Political DiscourseThe intense interest in Destiny's critique of Tucker Carlson and, by extension, current conservative thought leaders, signals a critical juncture for political discourse. It's a reminder of the power of platforms, be they digital or traditional, in influencing public opinion and the importance of critical engagement by the audience. As the landscape continues to evolve, the voices like Destiny's play a pivotal role in challenging norms, encouraging debate, and fostering a more informed and engaged populace. As society moves forward, the intersection of politics with digital and traditional media will undoubtedly continue to be a battleground. The question remains, however, about how these debates will shape public opinion and policy. Will the clash of ideologies prompt a deeper understanding and bridge divides, or will it further entrench existing polarizations? Only time, and the continued engagement of voices across the spectrum, will tell.
When Blake Lacy, Noah Freeman and Brett McCoy met and discovered each other's musical tastes, they did what college students do: They started a band. A few iterations of an expanded friend circles later and the trio evolved to a six-person offering called Kindred Valley. The band came on the Roots Music Rambler radar opening for Brit Taylor (Episode 16) at The Burl in Lexington, Ky., in February of 2024. A few months later, they were headlining shows at The Burl and dotted music venues up and down the mid-atlantic and midwest. Blake Lacy (songwriting, vocals) and Noah Freeman (songwriting, vocals, multiple instruments) sat in with Falls recently to talk about the band's roots, how they came together, the explosive growth of the group's success in 2024 and a lot more. The band even survived the attrition of one member who decided life on the road wasn't in the cards. Kindred Valley's music is often categorized as folk rock. We've likened them to a folksier version of Fleetwood Mac, largely because of the diverse roster of musical talent throughout the group and the harmonies and sometimes lead vocals of Rachael Hayes, the lone female member of the band. The group has a new EP out called What Was Left to go along with their self-titled debut album released last year. Frank and Falls also rank the top live performances they've seen in 2024 and issue a call to action for you to contribute your favorite performances, albums and songs for the year as we wind down toward the end of the year. And, as usual, they share their Pickin' the Grinnin' picks of the week. In a notable episode that captured the intrigue of online communities, a TikTok video posted by Tucker Carlson, a well-known political commentator and television host, has gone viral, sparking widespread discussion and speculation. Garnering an impressive 62.1 thousand likes and 1,763 comments, the video teases a provocative subject: the claim that Kamala Harris' husband harbors a secret. This vague yet enticing premise has prompted users from across the political spectrum to engage, debate, and hypothesize about the nature of this so-called secret.Kamala Harris, serving as the Vice President of the United States, is a figure of significant public interest, and her husband, Doug Emhoff, by extension, garners considerable attention. Any suggestion of undisclosed information or controversy naturally attracts scrutiny and curiosity, making Carlson's video a topic of heated conversation. Emhoff, a distinguished lawyer, has maintained a relatively low-profile yet supportive role in Harris' public life, which adds layers to the intrigue Carlson's video suggests. The implications of a "secret" could span a broad spectrum, from personal affairs to professional dealings, each with its own set of consequences and public interest. The precise nature of the claimed secret was not detailed in Carlson's brief teaser, leading to rampant speculation and anticipation for the full conversation, as promised in the video clip. This tactic of withholding information has proven to be an effective method in engaging audiences, leaving them wanting more and prompting discussions both online and offline. The significance of this development lies not just in the allegations made by Carlson, but also in the broader context of the political landscape in the United States. In a climate where personal revelations can have profound implications on public perceptions and political careers, the promise of undisclosed information about the spouse of one of the highest-ranking officials in the country is particularly explosive. It raises questions about transparency, privacy, and the relentless scrutiny faced by public figures. As the public awaits further details with bated breath, the conversation continues to evolve, reflecting the deep divisions and fervent interest in political figures and their personal lives. Whether the hinted-at secret will amount to a significant revelation or a minor footnote remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is the power of social media platforms like TikTok to ignite conversation and speculation with just a short clip and a tantalizing promise of more to come. In the digital age, information—be it confirmed or speculative—travels at unprecedented speed, shaping perceptions and dialogues in constant, dynamic flux.

"Someone who was always true to himself, failed, got up again, but ultimately changed the sport that gave him everything and inspired a whole new generation of kids. That to me is bigger than any medal I could ever win." - Miles Chamley-Watson This episode is one where we learn about a sport unfamiliar to us but one rich with history and challenges and how no matter what the competition is, the path to success is paved with dedication, discipline and a degree of mental toughness that brings out the best within us, when we least expect it. In partnership with Fanatics, Ryan, Channing and Fred sit down with veteran Olympic and World Champion fencer Miles Chamley-Watson as he opens up about his journey from a young athlete facing adversity to becoming a trailblazer in sports, culture and mental health as he used his own experiences and lessons to shape the success he's had in and out of athletics. Wearing armor and always a defense mode is a part of his sport, but in our conversation with Miles, he drops his sword and lets his guard down, opening up about the unlikely path into fencing, mental toughness, his effort to bring his sport to media forefront, rise to fame and how his family dynamic and recent heartache has changed his life perspective. Miles explains to the guys about how putting on that fencing mask for the first time made him feel like a superhero, and gave him a sense of purpose. The sport- which has been around for centuries- was something that fell into his lap as a 6'5'' dude from a mix of the UK, New York, and Philly. Yet, he fell in love with fencing, and found it helped him manage his ADD & ADHD, giving him something to focus on. Even though he used to hide his love for the sport after getting judged for being an “unconventional” athlete, he's now all about encouraging kids to follow their own path, no matter how different it might be. The guys go further into the conversation exploring the personal struggles Miles has faced within fencing, which is a predominantly white sport, sharing stories on facing racism in the craft, and how those challenges have only fueled his drive to create real change and make a larger impact. Making a name for himself wasn't easy at first, but through his charisma, unique style and success, Miles' meteoric rise to the top of sports has helped put fencing on the global stage. Garnering international fame through Olympics and becoming a world champion while juggling his star-studded personal life of fashion shows, Met Gala, A-list friendships and global brand campaigns. Today is the final episode in our series on Transgender Rights. I, Rep. Andrew Gray, explain the purpose of this series and broadcast the special order that I gave on the Alaska State House floor on April 17, 2024. It provides an olive branch to folks who may be on the other side with regards to these issues. It is my sincere belief that the vast majority of those opposed to trans rights have not had conversations with trans people, their families, or health care providers. If they had had the talks that I have had over the past ten days, they would not support the anti-trans legislation currently being considered. The impulse for this Trans Rights series is three bills currently moving through the Alaska State House: HB 183 which bans trans girls from playing girls sports; HB 105 which requires kids to get signed permission slips approving their preferred name and pronouns; and HB 338 which allows doctors to be sued up to 20 years after performing gender affirming procedures on trans youth.Alaska has many big problems. The pressing need to increase the funding of our public school system and finding a solution for an imminent energy crisis, for example. But instead of working on these very real, very substantial problems, we are spending the last weeks of session debating whether trans youth exist and have rights. They do exist; they do have rights.

Austin Texas quartet GENTLEMEN ROGUES celebrate aggressive guitar pop anthems — bearing the influences of The Replacements, Superdrag, Jawbreaker, and similar visionaries — and have been gaining momentum and increased attention. Since their debut in 2011, the band — Danny Dunlap (guitar/vocals), Josh Power (drums), John Christoffel (guitar), and Dave Hawkins (bass, vocals) — have honed their hooks over numerous singles, EPs, and the 2022 full-length collection, A History of Fatalism. Springsteen sideman Steven van Zandt hand-picked their single “Do the Resurrection!” as the “Coolest Song in the World” on his SiriusXM radio show, Little Steven's Underground Garage. Garnering heavy airplay, listeners worldwide agreed, voting “Do the Resurrection!” as one of the top ten “Coolest Songs of 2021.” Gentlemen Rogues have supported diverse acts like the Lemonheads, Smoking Popes, the Dandy Warhols, Mrs Magician, and Riverboat Gamblers on stages across the U.S. and the UK. In recent years Gentlemen Rogues opened for indie-punk icons Superchunk and Bob Mould, who personally selected the band to provide sole support on the Texas leg of his Distortion and Blue Hearts tour.
