This week's Local Selection comes from one of Ireland's most talked-about rising artists, Victor Krum, who supplies an earth-shattering contribution spanning hardcore, rave, and thundering grooves live from Index. Victor Krum is a Dublin-born DJ and producer whose sonic exploration is defined by a bold, high-octane energy, underpinned by experimental sampling and innovative composition techniques. His productions embody an unwavering passion for hard, unapologetically raw music, earning him support from artists such as Sara Landry, I Hate Models, Shlømo, Lee Ann Roberts, Jacidorex, AIROD, CLTX, and Kander. With a strong foothold in Dublin's club culture, Krum has graced iconic local venues such as Index, The Grand Social, and Wigwam, while also expanding his reach to renowned international spots like The Wav (Liverpool), Club Ava (Berlin), and Club 69 (Glasgow). His breakout track, “WTF is Hardcore”, amassed over 1 million streams, claimed the #1 spot on the Hypeedit download charts, and quickly became a fixture in the sets of prominent DJs around the globe. To date, his catalog has surpassed 2 million streams, with releases across notable labels like Influence Records, Rebellion Records, TX Records, The Meaning of Rave, Whalien, Barong Family, and more—alongside a steady stream of self-released material that continues to solidify his place in the global hardcore landscape. His contribution to the Local Selection Mix is, as expected, a relentless, screeching, and unforgiving journey. Krum keeps his foot firmly on the gas, delivering an intense ride from start to finish. The mix is packed with startling hardcore-infused cuts that twist and turn through shocking drops, plunging into suffocating, high-energy rabbit holes, only to erupt into moments of euphoric, 90s rave-inspired ecstasy. This is not a mix for the faint-hearted. Since 2014, Zanias has existed as the unrepentant creative venture of Alison Lewis, born in Australia, raised in Southeast Asia, and also known for her vocal work with Linea Aspera, Keluar and a record shelf's worth of collaborations with the likes of Black Rain, Ancient Methods, Dax J, I Hate Models and Infravision. As the sole custodian of Fleisch Records she spent many years attuning herself to Berlin dancefloors through the timely collision of techno and electronic body music, but her true passion is for understanding the modality of emotions through songwriting. Sound is her psycho-spiritual catharsis and philosophical exploration of existence, expressed through an intense vocal performance, evocative melodies and heavy rhythmic components. With this signature structure she seeks to reinvent her own brand of ethereal pop: atmospheric, multi-layered and as alien as it is authentically, vulnerably human. In 2024 Zanias returns with her latest album called Ecdysis, released on Metropolis Records and Fleisch Records. Named after the final stage of emergence from a former self, Ecdysis lays claim to an entirely new electronic soundscape influenced by the ethereal pioneering of Dead Can Dance, Enya and Fever Ray. Zanias's voice morphs deftly between species and gender, exemplifying the oneness of conscious experience evoked by the more extreme psychedelic states, while the atmosphere is heavily influenced by the Queensland rain forest where much of the recording took place, conjuring an environment rich with biodiversity. https://www.metropolis-records.comhttps://zanias.bandcamp.comQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna Every Saturday on ModSnap Radio | KMOD: San Antonio3pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)Radio: https://modsnapradio.comThank you for liking, subscribing and sharing my videos ! The next edition of the Local Selection Mix series comes from Derry native Shay Whelan who pieces together a pulsating techno workout. The youngster hones in on forward-thinking minimalistic funk that pays tribute to the 90s while also carving out a space for innovative sound design and modern power. Next up on the Local Selection Mix is a well-overdue contribution from Shay Whelan as he supplies a blistering hour of classic and grit-laced club-focussed techno. The youngster is best known for defying genre limitations, and weaving between techno, breaks, house and electro, however on this occasion is straight-up techno, no bullshit, no frills, proper order. Shay who was born and raised in Derry, has a remarkable list of accomplishments to add to his techno CV. Over the past few months, his productions have garnered support from industry heavyweights such as Mall Grab, Kettama, and I Hate Models, amongst others. With an original style that is characterised as built for dancefloors, Shay easily captures that high-octane club sound that DJs often desire. Shay seamlessly blends through various straightforward and dynamic loop-infused cuts. Moving through bleepy nuances into snarling forward-facing funk tools. Shay keeps his foot firmly on the pedal on this hour mix, leaving little room for water breaks, or any pauses for that matter. The Derry native's ability to keep a constant rhythmic flow is unmatched and you can feel the wheels moving from the bellowing subs right through to the crisp skippy hats. This is music for movement. We premiere our second track of the week today, as we feature brand new techno from Limerick native DJ and producer MELTX, as she drops her self-released track ‘These Streets' on Bandcamp today. Hailing from Limerick, and already having left her mark on Dublin and Paris, MELTX's is proving one to watch. After kick-starting her career in 2020 off the back of self-releasing a number of tracks, she has gone on to have a very busy year supporting acts and headlining shows up and down the country, and supporting acts such as Dyen, I Hate Models and Tommy Holohan. The budding artist produces high-end club tracks filled with brutal percussion and originality. As a producer, Cailín's discography is steadily growing. Her debut 12", 'Phantom Love Affair', 4 tracks of raw, machine fuelled techno, caught the ear of Dave Clarke, who chose her as one of his favourite producers of 2021. Shortly after she contributed to Ben SIm's huge Symbolism VA as a handpicked artist alongside Lady Starlight, Insolate, Jaun Shanchez, Ritzi Lee and The Lady Machine. Since then, she has had a steady stream of releases in the form of remixes, VAs and a further EP with lots more on the schedule before the year is out. Tapefeed is an electronic music project made out of a collaboration from two Italian artists, Alessandro Boni and Rick Vayo. Currently based in London and Berlin. The duo's sounds encompass a rich array of styles from techno to experimental, raw percussion to 4/4 all whilst continuing to preserve their love of distinctive and powerful broken-beat grooves. From their Superstition residency at Village Underground to sharing the decks with techno leviathans Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, Tommy Four Seven, Paula Temple, Perc, I Hate Models and more, Tapefeed have been forging a path on the international techno scene over the last few years and are now holding a residency in the iconic London club Fabric since 2021. Together with an accumulation of releases on labels Mord, Metempsychosis and Abyss, in 2021 Tapefeed have launched their imprint “Inveterate” to focus on the duo's archetypal sound and vision by inviting producers to break the rules and explore the fringes of their artistic extremities/limits/frontiers. Inveterate aims to scale the perimeters of techno with fresh, anarchic and unexpected elements. Based in Barcelona, this Italian artist has largely demonstrated his unique musical style: a mix of mental, disturbing melodies and powerful Techno. The name PØLI comes from the polygon, a geometric figure with multiple sides that represents the eclecticism of his music. He has a Techno stamp, but he is not a purist and his sets always carry different influences coming from House, Detroit, Dance, Dub, Trance and 80's music. PØLI is well known for his strong closings, always ending with a great energy. Since his first performance and success at HEX, he has also performed at some of the best clubs and festivals in Barcelona and Europe, such as DGTL, Brunch-In the Park, Input, Razzmatazz, Amnesia, Nitsa, Moog, Laut, and many more. He has played alongside great international DJ's like Ben Klock, Oscar Mulero, Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Chris Liebing, Ben Sims, DVS1, I Hate Models, Dax J, Rebekah, Paula Temple, Blawan, just to name a few. In 2014 he founded the Techno movement HEX with his partner Lorenzo, quickly becoming a referent in Spain and now planning its expansion all around Europe. In 2015, PØLI was awarded the Best DJ Revelation prize by Barnabeats in Barcelona. 2019 was the year where Lorenzo and him launched their record label: HEX Recordings, through a first release on vinyl, composed by 4 originals from them and various remixes coming from a very talented roster of international Techno artists including Regal, Zanias, VSK, Insolate and many more. Today we premiere Doubt’s new track ‘Friotaíocht’, releasing as part of the Chancers Vol. 1 compilation, on the new City Imp Records imprint from Roo Honeychild and City Imp, who are releasing their debut compilation with some rising talents of Irish dance music and “weirdo pop”. With the announcement of Chancers Vol. 1, ‘Dublin Club Queen' Roo Honeychild launches her new label ‘City Imp Records ’. The philosophy of ‘City Imp Records’ as a label is not to take itself too seriously, according to City Imp its “music for messers”. The stunning artwork designed by DJ Egg provides a graphic of all artists on the VA which includes Roo herself, Selky, Sweet Philly, Toké O’Drift, and more. The anything but-over-serious compilation links club sonics derived from genres such as Jersey Club, Industrial Rap, Trance and Hard Drum but all full of Irish Humour and nostalgia and appreciation for “Irish Institutions” such as “shifting someone’s mate at a teen disco, cúpla focail Gaeilge briste and drinking cans on public transport. Iconic samples included on the compilation include some vocal chops from Enya, B*Witched and that viral video of the Kerry Family that failed to catch the rogue bat in their kitchen, but you’ll have to wait to hear them all! Doubt’s track ‘Friotaíocht’ is today’s premiere from the compilation. ‘Friotaíocht’ is a fast paced track with the kick pattern and breaks of Jersey Club Music but with that Hard Drum sound Doubt's production is known for along with hypnotic trancey synths and samples from this moment on Talbot Street a few years ago when Pegida fascists were chased out of Dublin City. There has been no slowing down for Doubt in recent years, he is the co-founder of Cork’s ‘Flood’ label with Syn and Tension all of whom have pioneered a forward thinking percussive sound in Irish dance music. Flood as a label have provided an extensive discography of hard drum releases and have been supported internationally by heavyweights such as I Hate Models and Lyzza to name a few. He recently released ‘Soilse’ as a single on the label earlier this year, which is another beautifully produced melodic track, while also making his debut appearance on Rinse FM with Object Blue back in February, who states Doubt as one of her all time favourite producers. Check out Doubt’s track below from ‘Chancers Volume 1’ on our SoundCloud now and be sure to follow City Imp Records and Doubt on their socials. Pre-order for the compilation is now available on the City Imp Records Bandcamp with a release date of Wednesday the 28th of April. The first premiere of the week comes from Wicklow, as we feature the young DJ and producer X23's track 'It Will Happen' from his 'Dull Blank Faces' EP While we wait out the latest lockdown, and dream of soundsystems in fields, this latest premiere will no doubt blow the cobwebs away. Hailing from Wicklow, X23 kick-started his production career at the young age of 17 and has since gone on to be a relentless force to be reckoned with, as his unmistakable sound of hardcore and industrial techno has been picked up by labels such as Occult Rhythms, Crusade and Insane Industry. Today we feature his track 'It Will Happen', which is a fully fledged assault into the unknown limits of his sounds, as he delivers a track fit for a Possession rave in Paris, or within an I Hate Models thunderous set of madness. The EP is out later this month [March 27th] on Belgian label Normative, and will feature a remix from VENDEX and Irish heavy-hitter, NKTRNL. This aggressive sound of TLP068 is brought to you by Vendex! He has found his way, the path of Techno, with a philosophy that envelops him in a cloak of darkness. Influenced by the literature of Dante Alighieri in his work the Divine Comedy, as well as everything related to history, Vendex comes with the intention of creating a path to an inner journey wrapped in dark melodies, blunt and sharp bass that defy the natural , reaching supernatural sounds that touch or even reach what would be the sound of the underworld. Generating sounds that guide the Dantesque idea of a trip in the underworld with the aim of reaching paradise. All this through a forceful and enveloping sound, this creating a path to the nine levels of hell, purgatory and finally reaching paradise. Influenced today in his sessions by artists such as Dax J, Parallx, I Hate Models, Scalameriya, Ancient Methods, Tommy Four Seven or Setaoc Mass and many more. Eva Swan has a strong foundation in music, having started to learn music theory at the age of 8, along with the guitar and flute by the age of 12, before the piano later at 18. Eva Swan's entry point into electronic music came through working in clubs such as Belgium's famous Café d'Anvers and Kompass Club, along with EGG London, before taking a one-way flight to Ibiza. As a promoter on the white isle, Eva Swan became immersed in the scene, becoming well-acquainted with clubs, DJ's and the variation of sounds around her, accelerating her propensity for club-geared sounds. Teaming this with her early proficiency for classical forms and instruments, Eva's sound encompasses a distinct appreciation for raw music elements. Having appeared on line-ups at venues such as the previously mentioned, Café d'Anvers Antwerp, and Fuse Brussels, alongside the likes of I HATE MODELS, Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca and OXIA, ‘Equality', Eva Swan's 2019 debut EP paved the way for her ascension into electronic music – gaining media support from Mixmag, Complex, Attack Magazine, KALTBLUT and Soundwall. Video : https://youtu.be/JO6KnKtYdqQ Follow and support @opakdj Interview : Virtual Underground: How has this Opäk story started ? Opäk : I made acoustic music since was young. I play drums and I did a conservatory before starting to play blues / rock / punk with my friends! Then when I went to university, these projects ended, we were all in different cities. I made new friends, all techno fan. I did my first techno nights.... During one, when i was in party in front of "I hate models" at his beginnings, I knew that this was somehow the new essence of punk. So after started with playing with my first little pioneer mixing table and a computer, the Opäk project was born. Virtual Underground : Where do you draw your inspiration from ? Opäk : I find my inspiration in all the music that has nourished me from my childhood to here. From rock to metal, from blues to stoner, from EBM to Techno, from Techno to Acid, from industrial to hardcore. I often define myself as a "Industrial Techno " artist but in the end, I think the richness is to open up my influences as much as possible! if I have to name names that I have listened to a lot I will say The Doors, Rage Against The Machine, Official Motörhead, The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson then in techno I Hate Models, RVDE, Gijensu, Ancient Methods, Phase Fatale, Tommy Four Seven, Ansome, Ayarcana, Myler, TWAN and many other artists in the same genre. Virtual Underground : Could you describe your mixing process ? Opäk : For me the role of the DJ is like that of the sculptor, he must shape the atmosphere and take people on his journey. As a story it is important to have a beginning, a middle and a logical end, so the selection is made in such a way as to respect this narrative scheme! Then of course the best is to perceive only slightly the transitions between the tracks and that they bring a new breath to the set. Virtual Underground : Which software/hardware did you use for this set ? Opäk : I used CDJs and a DJM900 and then I equalized the mix on bleachton so that the audio quality and the feeling was pleasant, simply ahaha Virtual Underground : What are your next plans ? Opäk : What I prefer for the moment is the "show and concert" part I like to perform in search of people, their opinions, emotions. This is the area where I am most comfortable and very beautiful dates like the pulse festival, Entente nocturne arrive. I also created my own label: Askorn Records, which I intend to develop, and finally I am working hard to improve and work to release my first EP which should arrive in 2020.
Full set at Brunch In Barcelona Park Closing 2019, Rezonanz Showcase, alongside Flug, Adriana Lopez, Nina Kraviz, I Hate Models & Imogen.

bomphcast.com WNDRLSTis a techno DJ & Producer based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands who has a strong focus on industrial techno. At only 25 years old, his productions have already gained support from some of the hardest-hitting artists in the industry. Artists such as Dax J, Paula Temple, Rebekah, I Hate Models and SNTS have all had the pleasure of spinning some of WNDRLST's music. His journey into the deep and dark realms of techno begun when he saw Rebekah play at an outdoor music festival in Europe. WNDRLST had never heard of felt music in such a way before. This was it for him. In an instant, he was hooked and hard and rocking techno. Music had always played a part in WNDRLST's life. He starting producing loops and replications of other tracks at 13 years old. Soon after, he starting DJ out of interest and soon found himself playing vinyl DJ sets. Rebekah was really the catalyst that put WNDRLST on course to make a career out of music. Although he has had over 10 years of experience in production, music had never been a career option. It wasn't until 2018 where he decided that he would try and make his passion into his career.

Spark! knallen (zu Recht mit Ausrufezeichen!) ins Studio, Nachtmahr erklimmen das Firmament des Krachs, I Hate Models prognostizieren "It Will Last Forever". Ja, wenn's doch nur so wäre! Immerwährender Rhythmus, andauernder Groove, Wummern ohne Ende - wir glauben an den Beat.
