TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ JUAN EVANGELISTA Juan Evangelista's musical style is characterized by a compelling fusion of classic Techno with dense and archaic rhythms, drawing deeply from 90s Techno and the depths of ambient. His journey began in 2014 when he founded the underground movement “TCC” in Córdoba, aimed at advancing Techno culture in Argentina. This endeavor paved the way for him to share stages with international artists, honing his craft and expanding his reach. Seeking broader horizons, he moved first to Buenos Aires and then to Barcelona, where he now devotes himself mostly to production in his studio. In 2023, Juan released three standout EPs that have left a mark on the scene: El Niño de los Ojos Tristes on Default Series, the Dark Matter EP on Enux Records, and the milestone Equilibrium EP on Tremsix, featuring a remix by Jonas Kopp that solidifies his growing reputation. Juan Evangelista possesses a distinct impetus and groove that define his music, resonating with audiences on the dancefloor. Over the past year, he has toured extensively, performing in the USA, an all-vinyl tour in Canada alongside Freddy K, as well as across South America like in Mexico alongside DVS1, a festival in Riga next to Svreca, many gigs in Berlin, and throughout Europe. In August, he made his debut in China, followed by a second tour in the U.S. in September. Filled with inspiration, Juan is set to take off and showcase his sound around the globe. In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring “Technotronic”. In 1987, Jo Bogaert and Manuela Kamosi created “Technotronic” a musical project that featured Fashion Model Kilingi as their visual front. Ya Kid K was the stage name used by Kamosi when performing with the group. In 1989 the group released “Pump Up the Jam” which became an international hit. Take a listen to it here. “Pump Up the Jam” was originally an instrumental track but was remixed with Kamosi lyrics. This track was highly praised for bringing together the elements of American house, European dance music and hip hop. As a result, it had a significant impact on the production of popular dance songs in the 90's. Over the years, many musicians have sampled or remixed this work, as well as incorporating it into various films, video games and television programs. That's it for this Vinyl's from the past now, let's get back to the music. Ladymonix: Start – 20:07 and End – 26:59Hailing from Detroit, Ladymonix is a renowned DJ and Producer. Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, after a fine start to the year with the sublime Garpo show we are at the mixing desk and in control of the fire this week as we take it up a notch and let loose with some Techno rockets.
Irish DJ and producer Cailín needs little to no introduction right now, having gone from strength to strength in the last few years, with club shows and festival appearances up and down the country, abroad and of course her two incredible sets on the world famous Boiler Room platform. After putting down an impressive year of releases in 2021 and being hotly tipped by techno Don, Dave Clarke as one to watch, Cailín kicks the new year off with a remix for Rotterdam label boss Michele Mausi on his [R]3volution Records imprint, which is due to be released on 31st of Jan as a Beatport Exclusive. Today we're lucky to premiere her remix of Michele Mausi's 'Solipsism'. [R]3volution Records plays host to a large back catalogue of producers including Vil, Kaiser, Yan Cook, Oliver Roseman and Jonas Kopp to name a few, and has a ton of exciting new releases on the way, including an EP from Cailín later this year. This is the third in the series of [R]3mix EPs from the label boss, featuring 9 tracks from a ton of heavyweight techno producers. Cailín contributes a gritty and intense peak time thumper in her remix of 'Solipsism', featuring sonic rave stabs, sirens and plenty of kicks that will kill it on any dance floor. You can check out Cailín remix below, plus keep an eye out for the Beatport Exclusive on January 31st, ahead of it's general release on most platforms on the 14th of February. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ PFIRTER For the past fifteen years Argentinian-born, Barcelona-based producer Pfirter has been pushing a sound by turns steely, dark and uplifting, true to the founding principles of the techno's tetramorph but eager to throw his own vanguard, personal touch into the mix. From the early days onward, and no matter the medium of expression he's used, be it DJing, producing or as a label owner, Pfirter has kept working his magic with focus and style, gracing the likes of CLR, Figure and Stroboscopic Artefacts with some choice singles whilst headlining some of the most infamous electronic music bastions and events including Berghain, Tresor, Concrete, Awakenings and Time Warp. 2006 saw the birth of his own imprint, MindTrip, and that's become one of the brightest beacons in the ever-changing landscape of techno music; serving as both a landing platform of choice for his own output but also his close friends and collaborators' including Jonas Kopp, Stanislav Tolkachev, Dold, Fanon Flowers and more. In parallel, MindTrip also flourished through its monthly podcast series, welcoming the likes of Antigone, Markus Suckut, Milton Bradley, Pär Grindvik, Jeroen Search and a host more exciting and singular artists, all invited to present an hour of music that captures the spirit and values of MindTrip. After releasing over fifty club-formatted records, time had come for Pfirter to take the leap with his debut full-length, 'The Empty Space', which provides a widescreen, panoramic view into the subtle intricacies and multi-level wealth of details of his craft, as well as the large spectrum of emotions his music merges and blends so organically. Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, we hope you are well. We have another fine show for our loyal listeners this week and the show is delivered by Steinfurt Electronic artist Azenti.
Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, this week we are in the company of a true great of not just the Scandinavian Electronic scene but globally aswell. @dj-wank is in control of the show and presents us with some truly wall trembling Techno.
Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast, we return with a special show this week as we are joined by legendary Techno artist Echobeat, as he gifts us a mix of all of his own fine work in the studio.
We're in Dublin for the Local Selection, as one of the countries fastest rising techno producers, Billy Spike Iland provides us with the latest mix. We've been huge fans of his tunes for quite a while so we're delighted to feature a mix from him. Pre-lockdown Billy was organising stand out club shows in Dublin’s vibrant scene, bringing over the likes of Mortiz Von Oswald, CEM, Mama Snake and DMX Krew to the capital. Previous gigs include support for Mortiz Von Osawald, DMX Krew, Ryan Elliot, CEM and Mama Snake. As well as making his international debut at Jaded London & Festival Forte in Portugal, alongside artists such as Oscar Mulero, Paula Temple, Boston 168, Jonas Kopp and Dave Clarke. With no clubs and festivals for the last year, Billy has used the time wisely focusing on the studio, with numerous releases under his belt in the last year alone on the likes of Alien Sound Trax, Sulino Records & Expel your demons Records and most recent, Waterford's Kriminal Records. Expect an hour of hypnotic, driving techno that we've become accustomed to with his releases and style. This is your Wednesday soundtrack.
