In this Say Yes to Holiness podcast 1:1 Conversation, Christina sits down with Keaton Douglas and Lindsey Schlegel to speak about their recently published book, The Road to Hope: Responding to the Crisis of Addiction. Our conversation focused upon the tragedy of addiction that our society is currently facing, about how we can each respond as members of the Body of Christ, and about how the iThirst initiative can be part of the solution... The iTHIRST initiative empowers dioceses, parishes and communities to become a resource for both those suffering from addictions and their families. At the heart of iTHIRST is an understanding that there is a spiritual dimension to the disease of addiction that cannot be met by clinical professionals, but only by the spiritual consolation and guidance that the Church can provide. Through our comprehensive, faith-based approach to education, we want to transform the way the Catholic Church understands addiction. Through the programs below, parishes and communities educate the Catholic community on the nature of substance use disorders, in age-appropriate language, and demonstrate how our Catholic faith can be a powerful tool of prevention. In addition, we offer formation for laity and clergy to equip them as Certified Spiritual Companions capable of supporting addicted individuals and their families thirsting for relief, thereby helping parishes and dioceses impacted by the scourge of addiction. The iTHIRST Education programs include: iTHIRST Spiritual Companionship Training; School/ Parish Programs; a Catholic Campus Ministry Program, & a Pastoral Care Guide. The conversation that Keaton, Lindsay and I had was profoundly moving, but filled with great hope--just like their book, The Road to Hope. For all of us who are struggling with addiction, or know someone who is, this conversation is one that NEEDS to be listened to today. Behold Your King - Week 3 - Emmaus, The Road To Hope - Jen Pospelyj - 16th April 2023
Continuing our Series “God Encounters of the REAL kind”, today Pastor Ira teaches how after Jesus' resurrection, He appeared to many, in “encounters” that changed their lives and the world. Jesus continues to have similar encounters with those that are seeking with similar results.
Do you see Jesus as the resurrected Savior? Many people struggle to believe. So did the disciples in the first century. We are all looking for a place to put our hope in; somewhere that won't fail us. Jesus graciously drew near to two disciples who were filled with despair and hopelessness. Although they couldn't recognize Him, He remained with them. He showed them Himself through the Scriptures. When their eyes were opened, they rejoiced and were filled with hope. Easter isn't about optimism. It is about putting our hope in someone who cannot be overcome, even by death!
Easter 2023: The Road to HopeLuke 24:13-35 “The Lord has risen indeed…” Luke 24:34 Hope DELAYED is not hope DENIED. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel.” Luke 24:19-21 Easter is the story of how much God LOVES us. What's the big deal about Easter? 1.ALL of your past mistakes can be erased. 2.God is WITH us and FOR us. 3.You can KNOW where you're going when you die. “Keep your fork...because something better is coming.”
We welcome in a group of Marines. This could be a big mistake. We welcome in Seth, Pat, Jake and Zack. Each one gives us there story on their journeys. Some have graduated Camp Hope, one is returning and one is 90 days in. We dive into each of their stories on this week's edition of Road To Hope.

CLR Show 1766. Air Date September 30, 2022. The current spate of political, military and environmental negatives enveloping the planet would suggest an inevitable surrender to the hopelessness of our situation. But, throughout human history, hopelessness has always been the prelude to hope and rebuilding. It's just that the road to hope is always a bit longer than its counterpart. Why not simply choose to bypass the ugliness of presumed failure and inevitable self-destruction, and get on with the business of hopeful problem solving ... for a change?
College preparation is daunting. You outline the roadmap to your future—a blueprint setting a foundation for your life. Thus, you strive to place every step perfectly in order, as though you were scaling a mountain and had to plan each foothold to reach the summit. In high school, I applied to a wide range of colleges, considering numerous paths, though I'd always planned to study English. By the midpoint of senior year, I believed I'd found the college for me, which offered two English tracks. Meanwhile, I had been exploring other colleges. And then, at one local university, I was amazed by the sense of connection and community I felt. A traditional English major program, however, was not offered. I was torn; I had to choose my original blueprint, didn't I? Ultimately, I made the choice that was best for me, enrolling in the university with a great community but no English program. Initially, I was overwhelmed by designing a new course of study personalized to my dreams. But, as I let go of knowing all the details— leaving my worries in God's care and trusting that He works all things for His good purposes—everything naturally fell into place, and new opportunities arose that I had not foreseen. It wasn't a traditional English program like I'd imagined, but it exceeded my plans. I learned so much about myself, discovering new subjects I was passionate about. I cultivated a meaningful educational pathway through listening to God as I took steps into the future, resting in His immense love for me. I don't have to worry about ordering every specific step of the future. I can rest knowing Jesus is with me now. He has already triumphed over death, rising from the grave. With faith in His goodness, I can let go of the fears weighing me down and savor the amazing journey of walking with Him. • Kathryn Sadakierski • As Christians, we walk with Jesus through our lives, which means we can talk with Him as we make big decisions, and we have the freedom to adjust course as we notice what opportunities God is giving us and as we learn more about the ways He has made us. Think of a time when God surprised you with a new opportunity. How did this help change you for the better? At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ... Colossians 4:3 (CSB)
We welcome Brandon and Kenneth to the show this week. Despite Kenneth's devotion to Carolina BBQ, we welcome him in and listen as he shares his story on his road to hope.

CONNECTCARD: https://ranchchurch.churchcenter.com/people/forms/160169 GIVING: https://ranchchurch.churchcenter.com/giving OUTREACH: https://ranch.church/outreach Message notes by Cole Beshore, April 17 2022 'EASTER: On The Road To Hope' Intro: What are the moments that have truly changed you? Luke 24:17-21 They stopped short, sadness written across their faces. Then one of them, Cleopas, replied, “You must be the only person in Jerusalem who hasn't heard about all the things that have happened there the last few days.” “What things?” Jesus asked. “The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said. “He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people. But our leading priests and other religious leaders handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him. We had hoped he was the Messiah who had come to rescue Israel. This all happened three days ago... 1) Hope - Have you not heard about Jesus? - What do you hope for? Luke 24:26-27 Wasn't it clearly predicted that the Messiah would have to suffer all these things before entering his glory?” Then Jesus took them through the writings of Moses and all the prophets, explaining from all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. 2) This is they way it had to be - It all points to Jesus - Jesus provides what we most need Luke 24:32-34 They said to each other, “Didn't our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” And within the hour they were on their way back to Jerusalem. There they found the eleven disciples and the others who had gathered with them, who said, “The Lord has really risen! He appeared to Peter.” 3) Finding Jesus - He has risen!
Quincy Bergman, Michael Harris and Rachel Bawn share on the impact of worship in their lives and how vital a component it is in a life of Faith.

Welcome to season 2, episode 2 of the Today is the Day Changemakers Podcast. This week my guest is David Armstrong, also known as Sensei Dave Armstrong. At a young age Dave dealt with a lot of challenges and turmoil. He unfortunately watched his mother get physically abused by a man she was dating. He says that the experience hardened him so much so that he experienced his first arrest for armed robbery before the age of 12. Dave struggled with anger management issues from all the abuse not only that he watched his mother endure, but that he endured as well! His behavior brought him to live in a boy's camp, youth correctional facilities, and foster care after his mom passed away when Dave was just 13 years old. At one point Dave ran away from the facility he was living in and tried to commit suicide. He shares that at the time he was disappointed that he was unable to go through with it.Then, two people came into Dave's life that saved him. His CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocate and his Sensei/Martial Arts Instructor. Their belief in him helped him to change course. All it takes is just one person to believe in us when our internal faith in ourselves is lost. Connection is at the core of our humanity.Dave went on to become a 24-year Air Force Veteran, an author of the book, 'Why Me? My Fight for Life', Life Coach, speaker and at-risk youth mentor/advocate. Dave shines when he talks about the work he is now doing. He is helping parents, mentors, and CASA's truly understand what it is like to be a child growing up with extreme trauma and how to be successful in working with kids who are dealing with this in their lives daily. To find out more about the programs that Dave runs through his organization Unlimited Potential, go to https://www.upna.net/.Listen in to hear the footprint that Dave wants to leave in the world. Next week, my guest is Martine Cadet, a social media content coach and creator. She is also founder and owner of Kaderique Media, LLC a Boutique Digital Media Agency supporting small business owner's brand themselves online and expand their visibility. She talks about her journey to entrepreneurship and her journey was definitely not a straight line. There is a moment in this interview that will take your breath away as it did mine.
