Today's conversation is one that touches every single one of us — whether we realize it or not. We're talking about trauma. Not just the big, obvious trauma. Not just what happened to you. But how it lives inside your body… and quietly shapes your health, stress levels, relationships, and even your sense of purpose.Joining us is Diana Bitting, co-founder and CEO of Catbird Health, an AI-powered trauma-informed care platform pioneering an entirely new model for healing. But Diana didn't start here. She spent decades struggling with a chronic inflammatory condition that no doctor could explain. Test after test came back “normal.” She was told it was stress. Or anxiety. Or maybe even “all in her head.”Sound familiar? After trying everything — diets, protocols, medications, functional medicine, and talk therapy — nothing created lasting relief. Until one conversation changed everything. When Diana began exploring trauma science and nervous system healing, her symptoms started to lift. Because here's what she discovered: Trauma doesn't just live in the brain. It lives in the body. And until the nervous system feels safe, true healing can't happen. In this episode, we explore:Why trauma is stored in the nervous systemThe link between inflammation, anxiety, insomnia, and unresolved traumaWhy talk therapy alone may not be enoughThe difference between cognitive healing and body-based healingHow personalized, trauma-informed care is changing the future of medicineWhy every single one of us can benefit from trauma healingThis conversation is grounded in science, but it's also deeply hopeful.Because healing trauma isn't just about resolving the past. It's about unlocking energy, clarity, connection, and purpose in the present. If you've ever felt like something was “off” in your body — even when everything looked fine on paper — this episode may connect some powerful dots. You are not broken. Your body has been protecting you. And healing is possible.MORE FROM DIANA BITTINGCheck out Catbird and start your person healing journey. Learn more about Diana. I was one of the most therapized people you've ever met. I knew my triggers. I'd unpacked my daddy issues, my relationship with my mom, my insecurity, my eating disorders, problems in my marriage. I cognitively understood what triggered me and why I wanted to drink so much. And that did fuck-all to reduce my cravings. Which is how I know that awareness isn't enough. Understanding the pattern doesn't break the pattern. And talk therapy—as valuable as it is—didn't change how I felt in my body. Today's guest is Dr. Amanda Hanson, a clinical psychologist who spent the first half of her 27-year career practicing traditional therapy—until she realized all that talking wasn't actually helping women change. What she discovered instead will completely transformed how you think about emotions, nervous system regulation, and why so many of us numb instead of feel. We go deep in this conversation. We talk about why women are taught to source their safety outside of themselves—and what happens when you stop. We talk about the rage release practice that cracked me open at her retreat. We talk about aging, beauty, and the cultural scam that keeps women distracted from their real power. And we talk about what it actually takes to stop abandoning yourself. If you've done the therapy, read the books, understand your patterns—and you're still stuck—this episode is going to show you what's missing. In this episode, we cover: → Why traditional talk therapy often isn't enough to change behavior → The difference between being emotionally dysregulated and being fully alive → How self-abandonment leads to numbing (wine, food, scrolling) → What a rage release and grief release practices look like → How to give yourself the things you've been waiting for someone else to give you → Aging, beauty, and refusing to be complicit in a system designed to keep women small Dr. Amanda Hanson is a clinical psychologist with 27 years of experience who now works with women in ways radically different from her traditional training. She is the host of the podcast Things Your Mother Never Told You and creator of the Magnetic retreat experience. In this The Healer Revolution episode, I sit down with Edit B Kiss, a holistic therapist, success habit coach, international speaker, and #1 bestselling author, to explore her work with source memory healing and trauma resolution. We talk about why true healing isn't always about fixing symptoms in the moment, but about removing the obstructions that keep the nervous system, body, and psyche from regulating on their own. Edit explains how unresolved source memories—personal, ancestral, or karmic—can continue to shape patterns related to CPTSD, chronic triggers, addiction, relationships, and emotional regulation, even after years of therapy or personal growth work. This conversation explores how source memory healing works at a deeper level, including the concept of rewriting Akashic records to clear original imprints that interfere with healing. We also discuss why mindset-based approaches often fall short for CPTSD, how trauma lives beneath conscious awareness, and why combining somatic work, subconscious reprogramming, energy-based healing, and family constellation therapy can create more sustainable change. If you're curious about healing that focuses on removing the root obstructions rather than managing symptoms, this episode offers a thoughtful and expansive perspective.https://editbkiss.comhttps://www.instagram.com/editbkisshttps://www.linkedin.com/in/editbkiss/https://www.facebook.com/bkisseditHttps://www.youtube.com/@MagicalKarmaPriestess Skool community https://www.skool.com/release-with-easeMy book on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Healers-Journey-Coaching-Book-SeekersMy new book called: The Gap Filler Success

Solo Travel Adventures: Safe Travel for Women, Preparing for a Trip, Overcoming Fear, Travel Tips
Ever step off a plane and realize your inner compass has swung to a new north? We dig into why purposeful travel can catalyze the kind of change that resolutions rarely deliver, blending lived experience with clear psychology to explain how novelty, presence, and role-shedding rewire the brain.I share how walking the Camino reset my priorities and helped me defend a morning routine that anchors my days. From there, we explore four science-backed levers: travel breaks the illusion of “only one life,” forces attention out of autopilot, temporarily removes social labels so you can hear your true desires, and integrates insight faster because the body learns through movement and emotion. We compare therapy and travel as complementary tools—therapy explains who you are, travel shows who you could be—and map the exact moments where on-the-road practice becomes at-home change. If you're ready to design a life shift, we walk through practical steps to make travel intentional: choose destinations that mirror the pace you want, protect white space on the itinerary, try solo travel to clarify preferences, and set two concrete post-trip actions before you unpack. Whether your goal is a gentler schedule, healthier boundaries, or a new direction entirely, one well-crafted journey can move the needle from thinking to doing.Subscribe for more Solo Travel Adventures for Christian women, share this episode with a friend who needs a nudge, and leave a review with the one habit you plan to protect after your next trip. In this episode of Your Health University, Jamie sits down with Dr. Jimmie Williamson, Chief Behavioral Health Officer at Your Health, to break down why behavioral health belongs inside primary care—not outside it. Jimmie explains how telehealth lowered stigma, how mental health diagnoses (“F codes”) often correlate with frequent ER use, and why Your Health moved from intuition to data-driven referral models using tools like Power BI. They also map the full behavioral health ecosystem—from psych nurse practitioners to therapists to the psych pharmacist—and clarify when and how teams should refer patients for the right level of support. The takeaway is simple: earlier behavioral health intervention can improve lives, reduce hospital visits, and strengthen value-based care outcomes system-wide. www.YourHealth.Org

It's time to get off the trauma train…. But how!? Today, in our final (for now) episode with Stephanie Therapy, we dive into “I'm not healed enough yet” to “wait… what if I'm allowed to just enjoy my life RIGHT now?”. We chat when healing becomes a cage (and what to do about it), as well as becoming addicted to the healing journey vs. forgetting there is so much more to life. We chat victim mode, complex trauma, CPTSD and why sometimes - to truly end the cycle - healing has to leave the therapy room, go into the body, and then you can go back into the world a little more you. Our current mental-health and wellness systems are outdated, fragmented, and often disconnected from how the body actually heals. That's why this conversation is essential.I'm joined by Diamond King, a Sound Therapist and hypnotherapist who is redefining what holistic therapy truly means. Diamond's work shows that sound isn't just “relaxing” it's an evolved therapeutic tool that the body automatically responds to on a physiological, emotional, and subconscious level.Sound therapy shifts the brain from high-alert beta waves into the deeply restorative theta state, where clarity, release, and real transformation take place. Research shows that specific frequencies can regulate cortisol, balance the nervous system, improve sleep, boost cognitive function, and even enhance emotional processing.Through her sound journeys, realignment coaching, and decade of teaching worldwide, Diamond helps people soften their system, dissolve stored tension, and return to presence. She reminds us that stillness isn't silence it's structure, the architecture where healing finally has room to land.If you've felt overwhelmed, overstimulated, or disconnected from yourself… This is the episode your nervous system has been waiting for.Click here to Connect With Diamond King https://bio.site/therealdiamondkingClick here For all things mentioned—and all things Zen Effect Tune in live on WBNC Tuesdays at 6pm EST, also linked above.

Having some alone time or solitude is good for us. But we were not meant to be alone. Talking about things is therapeutic.
In this episode of Integrative You Radio, Dr. Nicole Rivera and Dr. Nick Carruthers dive deep into why traditional talk therapy might not be working for many people—and how a higher level of self-awareness, accountability, and growth-focused questioning can create real transformation. They explore the importance of working with mentors and therapists who have actually achieved the level of consciousness and balance you're striving for, and why simply feeling “good” after a session isn't the metric for true progress. The conversation is raw, honest, and sprinkled with truth bombs about empowerment, breaking the victim cycle, and raising your standards for personal growth. #TalkTherapy #PersonalGrowth #SelfAwareness #Accountability #VictimToVictor #TherapyRevolution #EmotionalIntelligence #ConsciousLiving #MindsetShift #IntegrativeYou #LimitlessLiving #Empowerment #BreakthroughExperience #QuantumHealing 3 Key Takeaways: Therapy Isn't One-Size-Fits-All: Not all therapists (or coaches, doctors, or mentors) are equipped to take you where you want to go. If your sessions feel too harmonious or validating, it might be time to seek out someone who challenges you and asks the tough questions that spark real growth. Accountability Over Victimhood: True transformation happens when you stop blaming external circumstances and start recognizing yourself as the common denominator in your challenges. Empowerment comes from shifting from victim to victor. Growth Requires Discomfort: If therapy is just a feel-good story hour, you're missing out. The best breakthroughs come from being challenged, facing your limiting beliefs, and working with someone who's already walked the path you want to travel. Quotes: “The only thing you can control is yourself in the present moment. As soon as you move from victim to victor, that's where the magic happens.” “If your therapist is validating your story and not willing to say you are the common denominator in your problems, they're not doing their job.” Find Integrative You Radio On: Website Youtube Apple Spotify 2 Doctors Committed to Innovating the Healthcare Experience. Ethical considerations and trainingEnergy medicine techniques for trauma and substance abusePractical energy medicine exercisesComparing energy medicine and ReikiMEET Mary GrigsbyMary is a seasoned therapist with training in both traditional and alternative healing modalities. She brings a deep respect for the body's innate wisdom and its ability to guide the healing process. Her approach is holistic, integrating knowledge from functional and integrative medicine with practices such as mindfulness, EMDR, and Brainspotting. Mary's training in Donna Eden's Energy Medicine (EEM) has expanded her ability to support clients who may not respond to conventional talk therapy. She has successfully used EEM in a wide range of contexts—including cancer treatment support, infertility, organ transplant recovery, digestive issues, and chronic pain. It has proven especially effective for individuals who are either reluctant to discuss their challenges or who are too anxious or dysregulated to benefit from traditional therapeutic approaches. Providing adjunct energy work is one of Mary's greatest passions. In this role, she focuses on addressing trauma and areas where clients feel stuck, while their primary therapist continues to support other aspects of their healing journey. You've been in therapy. You've talked through your career. You understand, logically, that your boss's mood isn't your responsibility, that your worth isn't measured by productivity, and that burnout doesn't mean you're broken. And yet… you're still panicking every time Outlook pings. You're still second-guessing every boundary. You're still bracing for impact. For many lawyers, this is the point where talk therapy hits a wall. You've intellectually processed the stress, but your body hasn't caught up. That disconnect between what you know and how you feel isn't a failure. It's a signal.See show notes at formerlawyer.com/282

Despite increased awareness of the importance of mental health, many men still hesitate to seek support. While they may appear to manage their mental health challenges well, statistics tell a different story.Several factors contribute to men's reluctance to pursue counseling, including cultural and societal norms, issues related to masculinity, and fear of the unknown. However, research shows that the benefits of talk therapy far outweigh the difficulties of dealing with anxiety, stress, grief, or depression on one's own.Going to therapy is much like going to the gym: to get stronger, individuals need a coach, commitment, and a bit of discomfort to maximize their goals. Grace Chan, a marriage and family therapist who burned out twice before age 25, shares her unique approach to therapy that goes far beyond traditional talk therapy. In this conversation, she explores how creative arts therapy, brainspotting, and EMDR can help people in midlife navigate major transitions, heal from trauma, and reconnect with their authentic selves. Key topics covered: Why midlife brings unique therapeutic challenges (empty nest, infidelity, aging parents, divorce) How art therapy reveals what words cannot express Brainspotting vs. EMDR: innovative trauma healing approaches When and how to find the right therapist for you The power of neuroplasticity to rewire your brain at any age Why everyone deserves that one hour a week focused entirely on themselves Whether you're considering therapy for the first time or looking for new approaches to long-standing issues, Grace offers practical insights on how different therapeutic modalities can help you become who you're truly meant to be. Even if you've done years of therapy, learned to manage your emotions, and built self-awareness, your nervous system might still be stuck in survival mode. But why is this? In this mini episode, Dr. Aimie dives into the biology behind how oxidative stress at the cellular level can keep your body trapped in a trauma response. No matter how much mindset work you've done! She breaks down how unresolved biological stress sends ongoing danger signals to your nervous system, fueling anxiety, overwhelm, and chronic dysregulation. You'll hear more about: Why trauma isn't just stored in your mind but in your mitochondria and DNA How oxidative stress acts like “rust” inside your cells and blocks emotional regulation The link between oxidative damage and PTSD, depression, and chronic illness Why your body needs energy, not willpower, to heal from trauma What actually helps repair oxidative damage and stabilize your nervous system How to use food, supplements, and sleep routines to support deep biological healing Whether you're supporting others on their healing journey or navigating your own, this episode reveals the hidden cellular barriers that can keep the nervous system stuck and offers practical ways to work with the body's biology to create real progress.
Wellness + Wisdom | Episode 748 Are your unresolved childhood wounds hijacking your relationships and keeping you stuck in depression or anxiety? Neuro-Rewiring Expert Mike Zeller joins Josh Trent on the Wellness + Wisdom Podcast, episode 748, to share how healing your protector parts can transform conflict into deeper connection and trust, why psychedelics can reopen critical social learning periods and give you access to the hidden programming of your mind, and how to move from fear-driven protector parts into authentic flow state. "Our core longing as human beings is connection and love. We think that the wounded, victim, angry self is who we are because that part is in the driver's seat, and we're identified with that feeling. When we do the neuro-rewiring work, we separate that enmeshment. And because of that separation, we can now recognize the patterns and awareness instead of being in it so much that we can't see." - Mike Zeller
