sent $$$ this week to Wanda Clark in Sacramento.gofundme.com/f/from-homemaker-to-homeless“For most of her life, Wanda Clark (known to everyone as Nana) was the pillar and provider for her family. As she not only cared and housed her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, she also opened her home and provided for extended family members and the neighborhood kids and was a place of refuge for many; continuously passing on retirement for years to make ends meet for them all. One year, as she attempted to expand her home to house more family members, the hired contractor took off with the money leaving her with an unfinished home and no funds to fix what was already torn. Today, Wanda is in the ultimate battle against the City of Sacramento to keep her home. As it was condemned, boarded up and her and her family was evicted, she continued making payments on her mortgage to fulfill her commitment to her lender in hopes of returning home. What started out as what Wanda believed was a partnership of restoring her home, was nothing more than misinformation given by the City of Sacramento and Gerard F Keena II of the Bay Area Receivership Group. Wanda felt as though she was misled by the group and was not properly notified of court hearings and now she stands at the threshold of losing her home for good. On November 3, 2021, the City of Sacramento will be holding an auction to sell her forever home and only possession and like many senior citizens, Wanda is facing a certainty of homelessness. We’re asking the community for help and to spread the word and bring awareness to this injustice.”DOWNLOAD RECORDINGsubscribe to the podcast here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/5432fun(intro by omar)Loose Tooth “Keep On” Keep UpFaulty’s Recordings “mess up but still go for it” as usualRock solid “Doing Fine” Something SolidFriendship “Bicycle” F/V HopeJoy Again “Another Song About Ghosts” ForeverParting Lines “Caught On The Outside” See You On The Other SideTony Molina “Wrong Town” Kill The LightsUniverse People “Chemistry” Are Coming to the DanceSunk Heaven “Blissful Intent” Where All Sides CollapseVital Idles “Fall Into Shape” Left HandLonely Parade “I’m So Tired” The PitsElephants “I Dream of Sherbet” Birthday EPS.M. Listening to just 30 seconds from the band Shy Boys shows they have something special. Their use of harmonies stands out across their two full-length albums and the singles they’ve released since. Kyle Rausch and his brother Collin started the five-piece band and have spent the last year taking their music to people across the country. Listen to this interview with Kyle about the band’s past and inspirations, and hear it reflected in their music.

Shy boys is in your future. Seriously the documentary I cover tonight does it no justice. There is always second chances and I call out @antcapone to chime in
Nostalgia dominants this short and sweet, Beach Boys inspired album by Kansas City's Shy Boys. Bell House is like if Of Montreal, the Beach Boys, Fleet Foxes, and the Shins all had a love child. What a great package of memorable, cute, dainty songs accompanied with memorable lyrics and great voices. Articles: https://shyboys.bandcamp.com/ Patreon: www.patreon.com/canomusicpodcast

On this week's episode of All Songs Considered, the pressure's on. To give a kind of guide to future interns, current All Songs intern, Cat Zhang has begun secretly evaluating Bob and Robin to develop her own NPR Music team ranking. One major criteria? Music selection. Full playlist: 1. The Decemberists: "We All Die Young," 2. Shy Boys: "Evil Sin," 2. Ovlov: "Stick," 3. An Horse: "Get Out Somehow," 4. Tom Gallo: "Tell Me The Ghost," 5. Bermuda Triangle: "'Till The End of Days," 6. Hauschka: "Tami Meets Richard," 7. Bryce Dessner, Justin Vernon & S. Carey: "Music For Wood And Strings"
It's 23 and me...and you...and this episode is very genetically white. The word "Incel" (involuntary celibate) is now known by everyone from your college roommate to your dad for all the worst reasons. Bob and Jonni break down the sad scene in the 2011 short documentary "Shy Boys: IRL" by Sara Gardephe. Sara got in on the terminology before some bottled up psychos stabbed, shot, and ran over innocent people and her film is available to watch for free on Vimeo and Youtube. Are all incels one bad day away from a murderous rampage, or is shit more complicated than that? Last episode was about race, this is about masculinity. We got a lot of opinions with no credibility to back them up. It's all a part of our Documenteers promise to you. Keep on not fuckin'.
