Stacy starts the show more subdued than usual having just been to therapy before recording where she explored being “too much.” Don't worry, her self-awareness quickly goes out the window. Now that her house in Washington has closed, she and her husband continue to explore their new environs like HEB (B for Butt!?). Talk of the two-step devolves into a conversation about quirky songs like the Casper Slide, Scatman, Cotton-Eyed Joe and Crazy Frog. Eric is brack at making tea brack, but cherries are too expensive in this economy! As for Cultural Blindspots, Stacy finished watching Song Sung Blue which was in fact very blue. She also saw Project Hail Mary which was NOT rocky at all! Eric watched Is This Thing On? which is a newer movie directed by Bradley Cooper. For a movie based on being a standup comic, it wasn't very funny. He also started rewatching Malcolm in the Middle since the reboot is out soon and found it to be very funny. As for the perfect sundae, Eric argues it's in a waffle cone with no toppings and Stacy loves the Almond Joy Sundae from COHO, an old Issaquah fave. They were split on banana splits. Dear Hillside: It's a rainy spring Saturday which means we all have an excuse to forget washing the car and mowing the lawn. Instead, we can brew a cup of coffee, curl up under a weighted blanket, and crack open that spy thriller that's been calling out to us. After some escapist reading, we can shuffle to the kitchen and make cheese sandwiches and tomato soup for the household. Why not eat in front of the T.V.? What's better than enjoying an out of town baseball game over a grilled sandwich with the cheese spilling over the crust? Here's another great rainy day activity: reading the Letter of James. Speaking of James, we're launching a new message series from that “spark plug” of a book that will take us through the summer. If the Book of James were a high school teacher, it would be your beloved track coach. The one who sometimes hollered at you to run faster but only because he loved you and saw your extraordinary athletic potential.Speaking of running, the series name plays on the slogan of a famous company that made a bundle telling us to get out there and “just do it.” James wants us to “just do” something too but you'll have to come to church to find out just what it is. God's Spirit is blowing fresh wind at Hillside. I can feel the “swoosh” of that brisk air now.So, join us tomorrow at either 9:00 or 10:45 and be part of this new chapter in the story God continues to write at Hillside, this church we all love and have given of ourselves for. And don't forget the Sundae party that will be happening after the second service--our first, “Second Sunday” as we're calling these monthly shindigs! Can't wait to see you and any friend you think to bring with you.Come worship with Hillside Covenant Church LIVE at 9:00 & 10:45 AM both online and in person as Dan Seitz teaches from James 1:1-4.This week's sermon notes are available at: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZNyP65ZOufbPMlBYFkEUjnSXte715ALrE1kIf you are new to Hillside and are looking for ways to get connected and build community, visit our website: https://www.hillsidecovenant.org/ We welcome you to Hillside and are so glad you joined us today! To give in support of Hillside Covenant and its ministries follow this link: https://hillsidecovenant.churchcenter.com/givingThe full service from Hillside Covenant Church, Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Send us Fan MailWhat if the biggest problem in real estate is not money but finding the deal?Scott Meyers sits down with Josh Stech to unpack his journey from flipping homes to building one of the largest private lending platforms in the country and now disrupting off market real estate through his company, Sundae. Josh shares how the industry shifted from a lack of capital to a lack of inventory and how Sundae is solving that problem by creating a transparent, competitive marketplace for sellers and investors alike. From scaling a billion-dollar lending business to raising over $100 million for a new venture, he reveals the importance of staying mission driven, building trust with sellers, and resisting shortcuts for quick profit. Sundae Body founder Lizzie Waley sells one every five seconds… The Aussie beauty brand founder joins Kelly McCarren on this week’s episode of The Formula to break down how she went from pitching her brand over Zoom in lockdown (without the final product, mind you) to being stocked in supermarkets and pharmacies around the world… in just four years. This week Jun and Daniel discuss the evolution of acquired tastes in food, turbulent political news from America, controversial tech updates, and a thought-provoking listener perspective on violence in Western vs. East Asian culture. Daniel shares his milestone of finally accepting sundae (Korean blood sausage) after years of trying, prompting a broader conversation about cilantro, kimchi, and how palates develop differently across cultures. The hosts then dive into heavy news topics including immigration enforcement affecting Korean nationals and the deeply polarizing assassination of Charlie Kirk. Jun analyzes recent tech updates from Apple's "liquid glass" iOS design to KakaoTalk's controversial Instagram-like interface changes, examining the concept of originality versus imitation. The episode concludes with a powerful listener message from Portugal about perceptions of violence in American society versus the emotional intimacy of East Asian media, sparking reflection on whether the global rise of K-content represents a cultural backlash against Western chaos. If you're interested in any of these questions, tune in to hear Daniel and Jun discuss all this and more!As a reminder, we publish our episodes bi-weekly from Seoul, South Korea. In this episode of Our Womanity features a conversation with Sundae Bean, a transformation facilitator who supports individuals and organizations as they traverse through life quakes and other major shifts. A trusted voice for navigating life between worlds, Sundae is currently dedicated to organizational transformation in Switzerland and is widely known for her podcast, IN TRANSIT.Perimenopause: A Biological TransitionSundae explains perimenopause as an externally led transition—something that happens to you, not something you choose. This can overlap with other life transitions: Internally Led: Changes that come from within. Performance Led: Pursuing a big goal, like a promotion. Externally Led: Changes that come from our environments. She emphasizes the importance of distinguishing between a genuine emotional response and a biochemical one, noting that while feelings are real, their source may be hormonal rather than a true reflection of your reality.Strategies for Navigating Hormonal ShiftsSundae offers practical advice to help manage symptoms like "monkey mind": Reality Check and Blood Check: Use this dual approach to test what's truly going on. Talk to a trusted friend to get an outside perspective, and work with your doctor to get yourself evaluated . Trust Your Body: Sundae shares her own experience of listening to her body's "yummy yes" for yoga over a "hard no" for running. This highlights the importance of trusting your body's needs over external advice. Find Your Body Compass: To counter feeling out of control, she suggests a simple exercise: take three deep breaths and hold the fourth until you can feel your own heartbeat. This grounds you and gets you out of your head.Perimenopause as a Growth OpportunityWhile difficult, perimenopause can be a time for growth. Self-Advocacy: It may force you to become your own best advocate, taking charge of your health when the system feels unsupportive. Adapting Strategies: Acknowledge that old strategies might not work now. A coach can help you develop new approaches. Bending Reality: Sundae encourages listeners to honestly assess where they might be "bending reality"—acting as if there are more than 24 hours in a day. This awareness is the first step toward delegating and prioritizing.Advice for Healthcare ProvidersSundae offers advice for healthcare providers to better support their patients. Listen to the Patient: Ask, "How have you been?" to understand the full context of their life. Validate Their Experience: Don't dismiss symptoms. A simple, "That sounds hard," can be incredibly validating.Refer When Needed: If you cannot provide the necessary care, refer patients to a coach or other specialist.

In this episode, the Creeps get sticky, sweet, and flaccid. We're trying A&W's new Ice Cream Sundae Root beer. We tried the zero sugar variety. It tastes fine. But then we venture forth into a gummi nightmare. We also ate Trolli gummi popsicles. That's right, someone who might be human decided it was a great idea to make a popsicle chewy, bendy, gummy, and unable to melt. The taste is ok but the texture is a crime against food. Then, Matt collects himself after that slimy snackfest to deliver a story about knives. Allow us to transport you to Elkins, where some folks got in a fight in a Japanese restaurant and things maybe escalated and left two hospitalized. Story credit to Joey Rather at WBOY. wboy.com/news/crime/2-hospitalized-following-knife-fight-at-elkins-japanese-restaurant/Also, they talk about candle smells, punk do it yourself, owning multiple pocket knives, putting stuff in your mouth, puppers, and air conditioning that they're not sorry about.

Summer is a great time to teach kids about finances by running a lemonade stand or selling ice cream at the park. However, if you try to teach them too much, kids will miss some of the important stuff. Physicians are no different and can miss some vital elements when it comes to investing. Listen in as Nate Reineke and Kyle Hoelzle break down some of the most common mistakes physicians make when it comes to investing. We discuss UTMAs and Minor Roths, diving into the pros and cons of each and if they may be right for your family. We also look at the importance of filling out IRS Form 8606 every year, what to consider if you are eligible for two retirement plans, and why you shouldn't have a target date fund in you brokerage account. Are you ready to turn worries about taxes and investing into all the money you need for college and retirement? It's time to make a plan and get on track. Jackie's teeth Tony is a whistlin', parentfluencers are shillin' a 3 figure box that tells your kids a story without a screen (aka a RADIO), Chappell Roan is PREACHING 'bout havin' kids too young, and the newest Baldwin episode is literally just about a rug and not worth missing the opera for, so Jackie gives a 5 second (too long possibly) synopsis. 'The Studio' is great and filled with stars, and worth payin' for Apple TV, it's dropping weekly and there's 3 eps right now.
