In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about what the true test of intelligence is. As John ultimately discloses, it's getting what you want in life. Creating the life you want. Then the second question. What is the currency of life? Is it time or is it money? Or something else. It's actually your attention. During this podcast John and Kelly talk about why people's lives evolve like they do. Most people are just winging life. They don't really have an actual way of doing life. And so to a significant degree, their outcomes in life come down to luck. Now keep in mind, genetics, upbringing and that type of thing are a factor. But luck has an outsized role if you're not intentionally leading yourself. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the concept that the reason you're not more successful than you are is because your intelligence and intellect is not choosing your actions. John mentions in this podcast that he is writing a new book called advanced leadership of self. He's establishing the academic discipline of the emerging field advanced leadership of self. With the intention of making the University of Texas the global leader in advanced leadership of self.John mentions that he is writing the book in conjunction with AI. It's a fascinating process. But in the podcast John mentions the most profound thing he ever learned is that up to 95% of his daily actions are unconscious. And since they are unconscious, his conscious mind intelligence and intellect is not controlling his daily actions. Yet those daily actions are the very thing that determines his success. In the podcast John talks about University of California researcher Benjamin Libit. And the experiment he did in the 1980s that proved that a person takes an action first and then a few milliseconds later becomes conscious of it.The implications of that for a driven person determined to be successful is huge. And John says that the turning point in his life was dispelling the false belief that he controlled his daily actions. As the podcast is wrapping up, John and Kelly end with a profound thought. Working harder is like stepping on the gas with the parking brake on. If you are not leading yourself deliberately and intelligently with a system.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the concept that attaining success is not about working harder. Without sounding cliché, it's about working smarter. Both John and Kelly were blessed to take their own personal annual income to over $1 million a year by working smarter. More specifically, understanding how the human mind works. Appreciating that one's daily actions determine their success in each area of their lives. But the majority of their daily actions, up to 95%, are unconscious. Therefore they had to gain control over their unconscious daily actions. That in a nutshell is what working smarter is all about. And here's a great saying to appreciate. Working harder is like stepping on the accelerator when the parking brake is on if you're not leading yourself deliberately and intelligently with a system. John also mentions another powerful saying. That you don't rise to the level of your goals, you sink to the level of your systems. During this podcast John and Kelly also talk about the nuances of using AI. And how transformative it is. And as we said last time, the gap between the 2% in the 98% is widening. Because at two factors. The 2% have a system for intentionally leading themselves and the 98% don't. Also the 2% is embracing AI thoroughly and completely, whereas the 98% is just dabbling with it.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. Takeaway from today's show is you need to be up to speed on using AI to your maximum advantage .In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about how the difference is widening between the 2% in the 98%. And there's two factors at play here. The first is artificial intelligence. The people who understand how to use products like chat GPT and Claude adeptly are very definitely at a competitive advantage. John mentions that his competency today as an intelligent functioning human being is substantially greater today than it was nine months ago. He can see things that he couldn't see before because he was constrained by the four corners of his own mind. But by using AI, he can see things he couldn't see before. And that's critical because success comes down to one's daily actions. Both doing them consistently and identifying the right actions to take. AI allows you to better see the right actions to take. The second factor in the separation between the 98% and the 2% is a concept of advanced leadership of self. The vast majority of the 98% are simply winging life. They don't have a way of leading themselves. They just get up each day and do the best they can. But the 2%, a large percentage of them have an actual way of doing life. During this podcast John shows our audience how using AI can make you see the right actions to take in your career. He uses the example of his current three year goal and the milestones to get there. Watch during this podcast how AI expands John's thinking and understanding. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly share their observations on creating success in your career. John mentions that he started out as a CPA and became an entrepreneur when he was 30. Then he was in seven different businesses in his 30s and 40s. But in retrospect, he sees that he was not connected to any of them emotionally. Then when he turned 50, he got in the reverse mortgage business. A business he was, in fact, emotionally connected to. Because he had seen how investment advisors had tried to coerce his mom into various investments after is dad had died at John's age of 24. He saw that those investment advisors didn't have his mom's best interest at heart. So when he got into the reverse mortgage business, he was committed to treating all his customers like his own parents. So that was the emotional connection. And the big Takeaway is that whatever business or industry you are in, you need to be passionate about it. You need to be emotionally connected to it in order for you to thrive long-term. John then gets into more detail about what took his income, when he was in his mid-50s, to 25 times the $200,000 – $300,000 a year he making the prior 20 years. He saw that he was doing three high-performance skills he never was doing before. He was highly organized. Planning is day the night before and time blocking is days. He was deep thinking two times a week. Tuning into reality. Growing every week from experts in areas that he needed in order to be successful as an entrepreneur. Primarily in marketing. Then John saw that through the think it be it methodology he was feeding himself six key things every day. His business plan, his strategy for success, the two or three things that move the needle, where he wanted the business to be three years from now, the 4-5 milestones to get there, and the linchpin issue to go to the next level. From feeding those six things to himself every day, he continually refined his understanding of those key components every day. So it was that combination of doing those three high-performance skills coupled with a continually evolving deeper understanding of his business that caused his income to go up by 25 times. And lastly, John talks about if you're an employee, you are, in fact, really an entrepreneur. The same concepts apply. Your career is your business. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about taking the advanced leadership of self 12 minute a day methodology to the next level. Using AI. And here's the thing to appreciate. At the end the day, one success is determined by taking the right actions on a consistent basis. On the issue of consistently taking the right actions, that's addressed in the 12 minute day methodology. 95% of your daily actions are unconscious. When you feed the succinct articulation of your desired life yourself each day, that's the repetition the subconscious mind needs to rewire your autopilot. So you have control over those unconscious daily actions. That way you can do them consistently rather than sporadically. But here's the other issue. You have to be taking the right actions. So consider this. The right actions regarding your health are pretty straightforward. Regarding eating right and exercising. Same with having a great romantic relationship. The right actions are pretty straightforward. But when he gets to one's career, the right actions are not nearly as obvious. And in methodology, for your career you establish where you want your career to be three years from now. And the 4-5 milestones to get there. That gives you a guidepost for the right actions to take. But here's the problem. Your vision is trapped by the four walls of your own mind. Your vision of the right actions is constrained by your own biases and limited knowledge. But this can be overcome. And is being overcome using AI in the advanced leadership of self methodology. In this episode Kelly explains her three year vision for her business. As well as the three or four milestones to get there. Then once this is established, John and Kelly gives it all to chat GPT. Chat GPT then gives a much deeper view of the right actions. This overcomes one's limited vision from the four walls of one's own mind.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly explain that the mind thrives on order. And when you feed the succinct articulation of your life to yourself each day you create immense order in the mind. And as Kelly points out, it makes you feel lighter. It causes all those half thoughts that are going on in your head to either go away or become full thoughts. To drive home this idea that the mind thrives on order, John points out that's why you enjoy music. A few years back, John learned how to play blues guitar. And in the process of doing so, he learned the timing in music. So in this podcast, he plays the song Billie Jean by Michael Jackson. Explains the timing and then counts it. This is a vivid example of how the mind thrives on order. To wrap things up, John makes a point of how one's success in life as well as one's enjoyment of life comes down to the thoughts that are going on in your head on an ongoing basis. So simple but many people don't get this. But for the few that do, it's life-changing. The think it be it methodology influences the creation of your thoughts.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about how the think it be it life GPS template is set up around your career. There are six things you need to define. Your business plan, your strategy for success, the two – three things that move the needle, where you want your business to be three years from now. The 4 - 5 milestones to get there, and the linchpin issue to go to the next level. But maybe the most important of the six is defining your three year vision for your business. Once you see where you want to go, then you will define the 4-5 milestones to get there from where you are today. That gives you the path. But the lesson from today's podcast is it's all about clarity. The clearer you see where you're going, the more clear it is what the right actions are to get there. John and Kelly talk about over the years with their think it be it business, and some years they liked the three year vision and some years they didn't like the direction. So it's valuable on an every six month basis to assess on a scale of 1 to 10 how well you like your three year career vision. If you don't find yourself liking it to the level of a nine or 10, maybe it's better to spend more time figuring out how to get it to that nine or 10 than continuing to continuing to pursue a three year vision that you don't fully embrace. Clarity always brings the right actions to the surface. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk how in life, most people focus on the obstacles rather than focusing on what they want. During this podcast episode, John and Kelly play a short clip from leadership guru Simon Sinik. It really illustrates the idea of how people focus on the obstacles. As John pointed out, what a lousy way to live. But people are doing that because they are innately wired for survival. Which causes them be fear-based. That's why they focus on the obstacles. Coupled with the fact that by being wired for survival they are profoundly resistant to change. John goes on to talk about how easy it is to manipulate the subconscious mind. And manipulate the person you want to be. If your natural inclination is to focus on the obstacles, it's pretty easy to change that. By repeatedly saying to yourself to focus on the possibilities rather than the obstacles, over about 21 days that will happen. But when you're winging life, as most people do, you're innately wired to focus on the obstacles.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk how to up your game on using chat GPT. As a little background, John does a weekly program for the 18 head coaches at the University of Texas. And this week he's teaching them how to up their game on using chat GPT. So here are some of the ways to do it. First of all, today chat GPT is probably the best AI program to use. Because it's more advanced than the other programs regarding having a back and forth oral conversation. But you have to have the paid version which cost $20 a month. But the first step up for using AI beyond asking a question or two or improving emails is to have ongoing conversations with it. As an example, John oftentimes has a problem he's thinking about and on his drive home will have a back-and-forth conversation with chat GPT. And it will go on as long as John wants to talk. Another significant use is using chat GPT during thinking sessions. Either to answer your question or to factually get more information. A third use is giving AI a set of eyes. Using your camera. So chat can see what you see. Then you can ask it questions regarding what it sees.Another use is creating a morning briefing. It's tied to your emails and calendar. Get a morning briefing just like the president of the United States does. Further you may want to adjust the settings in AI. You can make it so it's not so agreeable with everything you ask it. You can also use chat GPT to have an alter ego AI agents to play a particular role. Maybe have one agent that really challenges you hard on things.Another idea is regarding your health. There is an AI program called open evidence that is available to medical practitioners. It is tuned in to all the medical research. You can ask your doctor to ask it to research something and then you can give it follow-up questions. Your medical provider should be agreeable to doing that. Further, you can get your AI program to do tasks for you. As an example you might want to set up a Google ad words campaign. It can do the whole thing for you. So the bottom line is today you are under using AI. For John and Kelly, it's evolved into being their personal coaches and personal mentors. And it's only going to get better.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the concept that you have to figure out your life. John discusses coming to grips with this when he was 50. Only then did he get it through his thick head that he had to figure out his life. Nobody else can figure it out for him. Because nobody else but him has all the information. And there's not going to be some magical thing that happens to transform your life. Again it's fully and completely on you to figure out how to be successful in each area of your life. It's really being accountable for your life. Kelly particularly advocates for this idea. The problem is most people are gliding through life. Not really thinking very deeply about their life. And accepting whatever they get out. Rather than making things happen by really owning the results. That's what gets you the exeptional life.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the concept of setting aside time to just THINK a couple times a week. In this episode Kelly talks about how she found this process difficult at first. Then she found it life transforming. John mentions that with each person, there are two parts of you . When you set aside to time to think, the observer is observing your life. Tuning into reality. Helping the doer course correct. In this episode John and Kelly really go deep into the importance of tuning into what reality is telling you. Regarding what you're doing. Is it working or is it not working. But the fundamental concept of having a great life requires that a person at least a couple times a week step back from their life and just think. This is the initial step to proactively influencing the subconscious mind.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about what percentage of adults in the United States live the exceptional life. As defined by earning over $100,000 a year, having a great romantic relationship and also being on top of their health. The answer is about 2%. In the podcast, John poses the question to chat GPT. Which confirms this. It's amazing that in the richest country in the world, only 2% of people are living the exceptional life. So why is that? It's because most people are just winging life. They don't have an actual way of doing life. Accordingly, they get the average life. The alternative to just winging life is the 12 minute day technique of think it be it.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about the concept of advanced leadership of self. But what does that really mean? In this episode John poses the question to chat GPT. The essence of what Chat says is it's taking personal responsibility for your life and the results that show up in your life. Making sure your actions reflect steps to your well thought out goals. John talks about how there is this constant dance between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. In the conscious mind you're establishing the ideal you. Exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and precisely how you are going to achieve your clearly defined goals. So that's again established in the conscious mind. Then you feed that to the subconscious mind. It takes 12 minutes a day. And the effect is the ideal you is who you actually become. John and Kelly talk about how the subconscious mind is either your greatest asset or your greatest nemesis in life. And it's your choice. It's your greatest nemesis in life because you're innately wired for survival. Which causes you to be fear-based and reactive. So if you don't do anything to override being wired for survival, your subconscious mind is your greatest nemesis in life. But on the flipside of that, when you properly programm yourself in your morning routine, it becomes your greatest asset. The subconscious mind is like a garden. If you water it and fertilize it by giving it the proper input, flowers are produced. If you neglect it, weeds will show up.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly talk about a powerful quote from James Clear. Author of atomic habits. You don't rise to the level of your goals, you sink to the level of your systems. As John explains, the think it be it methodology is a combination of various systems . A system for controlling your actions. It's a system for controlling your mindset. Then there is the technique of setting aside time each week to just think. To deep think. It's a system for thinking. The think it be it methodology also has a system for being a conduit of learning. Using podcasts. It's a system for growing. And then there's the think it be it daily and weekly to do system. A system for being organized. And during this podcast John and Kelly talk about how most people are not growing intellectually. In fact, the average person doesn't read three books rest their life after they graduate from college. An amazing statistic. And most people have no system for mindset and a poor system for being organized. That's why when you have strong systems for these various things, success is easy. Because the bar is so low with other people.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly share a video that Darren Hardy did on influencing people in 2026. He says it comes down to three rules. The first one is energy leads. You have to decide what energy you want to convey. You want to control your state. And you want to convey certainty. The second rule is clarity wins. Say what you need to say simply and clearly. Most people over talk and say too much. And people don't remember anything they say. Then the third rule is calm commands. If you really want to influence people, talk slower not faster. John and Kelly explain in their respective businesses how they apply these principles.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that life works out for you. That whatever happens in life for you, it's always for the best. Maybe there's lessons you have to learn from adversity before you experience prosperity. John and Kelly provide a six minute clip from Joe Dispenza. He has a brilliant way of explaining the infinite intelligence of life. How you don't always see the big picture but it's critical to have the belief that life is working for you not against you. Always avoiding the victim mentality. In the clip you'll hear Joe talk about the idea of having a personal assistant who is working behind the scenes to make everything work in your life. You don't always understand why the personal assistant is doing this or that, but you have faith that it's all being done for your betterment. Whatever is happening is for your betterment. This is a powerful episode to listen to. Because once you embrace the idea that life inevitably works out for you, your life is never the same. It eliminates stress. Send us a textEver feel like you're doing all the “right things” and still falling short of the life you imagined? We sit down with John Mitchell—author of The Living Secret and creator of the Think It Be It methodology—to unpack a bold idea with deep scientific roots: if 95% of your daily actions are unconscious, the fastest path to better results is reprogramming your autopilot. John shares how a painful season and a relentless study of Think and Grow Rich led him to a simple, repeatable routine that takes just 12 minutes a day and turns intention into reliable action. We trace John's journey from solid-but-stuck to a 25x income breakthrough, and we dig into what actually changed: radical clarity about who he wanted to be, what he aimed to achieve, and the exact steps that would get him there. He explains why the subconscious responds to repetition and emotion, how to write a concise daily script that touches career, health, and relationships, and why small wording shifts—like moving from “aware” to “evaluate”—instantly alter behavior. Leaders, founders, and athletes will appreciate the framework that links vision, systems, and people so the “right actions” start happening automatically by week three.Expect practical examples, from health choices to attracting the right partner, and a clear breakdown of conscious versus subconscious roles. You'll hear why this method lowers stress, boosts confidence, and creates a genuine sense of control as your brain gets the order it craves. If you're ready to stop winging it and design the next five years with intention, this conversation gives you the tools to start today—no hacks, just mechanics that compound. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with someone who's ready for a leap, and leave a quick review telling us which habit you'll automate first. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept that 95% your daily actions are unconscious. The significance of that is your daily actions determine your success in each area of your life. So we will go deep on this topic today. And here's what we see. Lots of people think that all of their daily actions are conscious. The reason they feel that way is they are aware of all their daily actions. Accordingly, they think they are consciously made. But they are NOT consciously made. What actually happens, and this is scientifically proven, is a vast majority of your actions happen unconsciously and then a split second later you become conscious of it.As an example, if you're feeling stressed you might unconsciously eat a snack. But once you've started eat the snack, only then do you become consciously aware of it. But the actual action of starting to eat the snack happened unconsciously. In this episode to prove this point that your actions happen unconsciously and then you become aware of them, John engages with chat GPT. Very interesting discussion. The think it be it methodology influences the creation of your thoughts.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. We're excited to announce the evolution of our podcast! Formerly known as "Think It, Be It," we're now rebranding as "The Missing Secret Podcast." Curious about why we made the change and what's coming next? Tune in to find out! This week, we're revisiting an insightful episode: Human Nature – We Are Not Wired for Success. In this episode John and Kelly talk about human nature. How humans are wired for survival, not for success. And that plays out regarding the negatives in human nature. We tend to be self focused, we tend to be reactive. As humans, we tend to be lazy. We tend to be unfocused. Easily distracted. That's human nature. But there is some good to human nature. We have an innate desire to help other people. And John made an interesting point. That all the negatives regarding human nature are all related to being wired for survival. By being wired for survival, that's what kept us alive 5000 years ago when there was a danger around every corner. It causes us to be fear-based and reactive. Which is exactly the opposite of how we want to be if we want to be productive creative and happy. During this podcast John and Kelly point out that you have to intentionally and proactively override human nature if you want to be successful. And you do that through the think it be it 12 minute day morning routine.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss netting over $1 million a year. Which only one third of 1% of people are able to do. John talks about when he was first able to do this in his early 50s. It happened because he had immensely more control over himself. He could do now five high-performance skills he couldn't do before. He was highly organized. Planned this day the night before and time blocked his day. He was deep thinking two times a week. He was growing intellectually, in areas that were strategic relative to what he wanted to accomplish. He was focused only on what moves the needle. And he had control over his daily actions, 95% which are unconscious. Kelly goes on to say that when she crossed over to netting over million dollars a year, it allowed her to just have more impact. Those same five high-performance skills were things she could now do consistently. John goes on to talk about how important it is that you choose a business that is leveraged. As an example, he talks about how in the reverse mortgage business he would make $30,000 a reverse mortgage versus when he sold his time by the hour as a CPA he make $200 an hour. John also recounts how he celebrated the first time he went over that magic milestone of netting over million dollars a year. About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode John and Kelly talk about how we are all in the influence business. And influence has two components to it. First, influencing yourself. That means getting yourself to do the key habits required to be successful. Having discipline. John talks about how this is leadership of self. Which means having the mindset of I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I own my results and am never a victim. Being able to summon up grit and perseverance when things don't go well. Kelly then talked about how she influences other people like her team. By being authentic and doing what she says she's going to do. John talks about the book how to win friends and influence people. This classic book. The power of seeing people's first name in conversations. The power of seeing things from the other person's point of view. Smiling. The wrap-up to this podcast explains how you can make influencing both yourself and other people happen automatically without thinking using our 12 minute day technique.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss the challenge of taking wisdom and sharing it with other people. John talks about a statue that sits in his den. It has three men that are climbing. The lowest guy is struggling, the middle guy is going sideways, and the third guy is going straight up. When John looks at that statue each morning, he thinks about his own life. The guy at the lowest level was was John in his 30s. The guy going sideways was John in his 40s. And the guy going straight up John in his 50s. John sees that when he started going straight up in his 50s, he saw and understood things he never understood before. He gained wisdom from the book Think and Grow Rich. He was just operating on a higher level. He understood how the human mind worked, and that was the difference Kelly talks about how she has learned from other people as well. But so often people in their 30s and 40s don't think they have that much to learn. So they're not receptive to the wisdom of others. But John points out that oftentimes the wisdom is something profoundly simple. It's not like you're learning to split the atom. Like for John learning that 95% of his daily actions was unconscious was critical. Learning how the human mind works. Ultimately he learned how to work smarter not harder.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode John and Kelly discuss an idea that comes from Joe Dispenza. He says that when we wake up each morning, we are oriented to our recent past. To our familiar past. So when our eyes open each morning, three things are going on. First we're innately wired for survival. Which causes us to be fear-based and reactive. Secondly, 95% of our daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. And third, and this is what Joe Dispenza adds to the equation, we are oriented to the recent past. So the effect is when you open your eyes each morning, you're fear-based and reactive. With the vast majority of your thoughts being fear-based, with 95% of them being unconscious. And you're thinking about the recent past. Your problems and may be little things that hurt you over the last few days. That then produces feelings. And those feelings create more negative thoughts. It's a spiraling negative loop that causes you to continually re-create the past. Thoughts are the language of the mind and feelings are the language of the body. So when you get in this negative loop to continually re-create the past, nothing is pulling you forward. That's why the think it be it 12 minute a day methodology is so powerful. Where you articulate the succinct articulation of your desired life. Exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish and precisely how you can achieve your clearly defined goals. About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. John Mitchell, creator of Think It Be It, is my guest, sharing the solution to most all of our problems in life - by influencing our subconscious mind, by design, on purpose. He used this process to achieve monumental success professionally and more importantly, to manifest his wife, at the age of 50, having never been married and after lots and lots and lots of dating. It's an honor to share him with you..
In this episode, John and Kelly talk about the concept that success is something you attract, rather than something you chase. By being the type of person that does attract success. As Kelly points out, BE then DO. John makes the analogy of someone trying to catch a butterfly. It's very elusive. Just like success. But if you become the person that you need to be in order to be successful, you will attract success. Kelly talked about the idea of envisioning the best version of yourself 10 years from now. And envisioning what you would have accomplished. Then seeing the type of person you would need to be in order to attain that level of success. It's a great analogy. Putting yourself in a third-party position to see the person you need to be in order to attract the success you want is a fundamental concept. In this podcast John also points out the power of the think it be it method. Your defining exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and precisely how you can achieve your clearly defined goals. Then you feed that to yourself every day using the think it be it template. Since 95% of a person's daily thoughts and actions are unconscious, when you feed that to your subconscious mind that's who you actually become. Your subconscious mind makes you into what you're feeding it. Powerfully simple. The science of leveraging yourself.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. After spending 20 years as an entrepreneur, John was 50 years old but wasn't as successful as he thought he should be. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss personal responsibility. To launch into this topic, John plays a five minute presentation by Darren Hardy. After the clip plays, John and Kelly unpack what we learned. The first thing we learn is that you created the life you have. Whatever you have in your life, both good and bad, you created it. The second thing we learned is that cornerstone of personal responsibility is never being a victim. Eliminating victimhood. They also talk about the idea of looking at what you are tolerating in your life. That can be as bad as bad choices. John and Kelly also talk about the most precious gift we have. Controlling your attention. Because what you give your attention to determines the input that comes in your head. And that input determines your thoughts, which determines your actions, which ultimately determines your success in each area of your life. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss that you get in life is what you create. But what drives the creative process? It's what we expect. Expectations manifest themselves. So let's think about this a little deeper. If expectations manifest themselves, what drives our expectations? It's our thoughts. And our thoughts are dictated by the input we have coming in. Garbage in, garbage out. Good in, good out. John plays a two minute presentation by Darren Hardy about this. After the presentation, John and Kelly relate it to the think it be it methodology. Your expectations manifest themselves. So it's important to have clarity about your expectations. And that's what the think it be it 12 minute day methodology does. By feeding the succinct articulation of your life, exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and precisely how you're going to achieve your clearly defined goals, that's the ultimate in defining your expectations. And what you expect is what ends up showing up in your life. About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly talk about the idea of seeking to understand before you try to be understood. John mentions that this is one of the seven habits of highly successful people. He recently read that book again and this was the habit that really caught his attention. Kelly and John talk about how innately we don't like people who think differently than we do. That happens at a subconscious level. But of course people don't think like we do. Everyone is simply a reflection of three things. Their genetics, what has come into their consciousness to this point in their life, and whether they have estrogen or testosterone flowing through their veins. Everyone is unique. To expect that people will think like you do doesn't make sense. And that's why it makes so much sense to apply this idea of seeking to understand before trying to be understood. Kelly talks about how she applies this to her team in her business. John talks about how he's been trying to improve his skills in this regard with his wife Ginger. At the end John talks about how to apply this idea using Think It Be It's 12 minute a day technique.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly talk about growing intellectually. And how important it is to make your personal growth both consistent (every week) as well as strategic relative to what you want to accomplish. Kelly describes a great system she's created for herself. Every Sunday she defines the things she's going to listen to during the week. Listening to the content primarily when she's exercising. And it's always strategic relative to what you want to accomplish. As an example, she wanted to get government contracts for her recruitment business. So she listened to content on government contracts. Very strategic. John talks about when he was 50 years old he realized that he wasn't growing intellectually. He was too busy for personal growth. Big mistake. He fixed it with the system he created. And it made him a conduit of learning. With the wisdom of experts coming into his head every week. At the end John talks about how he articulates his personal growth plan in his life GPS template that he reads each day.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss the fact that everyone has a superpower. And there's power in knowing what it is and playing into it. Kelly's superpower is being a people person. Being able to make people feel heard and recognized. Having empathy. John goes on to say that his superpower is being able to take the complex and make it simple. John discovered this when he was 27 years old working as a CPA. And he saw that talent playing out throughout his life. When he launched into being an entrepreneur at 30, he was able to prepare the investment brochure in a way that made the complex simple. So investors would ride a check to fund his real estate development. Then when he got into the reverse mortgage business at 50, he made reverse mortgages simple. And now in the success business, John makes success simple. John then talks about how so often people don't understand how profound it is that 95% of a person's daily thoughts and actions are unconscious. John and Kelly discuss the ramifications. During this podcast John also talks about eight different superpowers that people can choose from, in order to give them some perspective as to what the potential superpowers are. In this episode, John and Kelly talk about how you answer the daily question “how are you doing “. It has a huge impact on how you influence others as well as how you influence yourself. Kelly says that when she is asked that question, her standard response is “EXCELLENT”. For John, he answers “living the dream”. Regarding influencing yourself with your answer, John says it sets the tone for your inner world and how you view your life. John also points out that life is a state of mind. So his reply to this daily question is really important. And it's way better to have a unique reply other than “FINE” as most people answer. Kelly then explains the powerful impact your answer has on other people. It's truly an exchange of energy. And when you answer in a nontraditional way with energy, it has a very positive effect on other people. John also points out that what you say out loud has 10 times the impact of what you think. And this is based on a Harvard study.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. In this episode, John and Kelly discuss the concept of the 2% versus the 98%. In John's opinion, 98% of people are sheep. They follow the crowd. And that's what creates the average life. Which isn't pretty today in the United States. John gives the example of think it be it being only for the 2%. Because only 2% of people consider more success a necessity rather than merely a preference. Most people want to be more successful but it's merely a preference. They won't do the things required to actually be more successful. It also comes down to embracing playing the game life at your full potential. Something only 2% of people aspire to do. Kelly explains that so much of it comes down to your identity. Who you see yourself being. Appreciating that success is something you attract by the attributes you create in yourself. And John points out that that is the essence of the think it be it methodology. By getting clarity on the attributes that you want and feeding those attributes to yourself each day, that's who you actually become. Think it be it gives you the ability to create the life you want. In this episode, John introduces the idea that you have to hear something seven times BEFORE it fully registers. This issue has come up because John relates to Kelly a situation with a couple of new clients for think it be it. John explains that the most significant thing ever learned in his life was that 95% of his daily actions and thoughts are unconscious. That was so significant because from reading think and grow Rich, he realized that his daily actions determine his success in each area of his life. Therefore if 95% of his daily actions are unconscious, if he's not controlling his unconscious daily actions, he's playing the game of life at 25% of his potential. John was mystified as to why people couldn't repeat that back to him once he explained that to them. John's assumption was that they have to hear it seven times before it really registers. Kelly gives some great insight into this. It may be that people just aren't ready to hear the message. And some people never will hear the message because they don't have a growth mindset. They're not open to new ideas. Towards the end of the podcast John talks about a new client who after a few times of John saying it to her started repeating it back to him in emails. Mission accomplished.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. After spending 20 years as an entrepreneur, John was 50 years old but wasn't as successful as he thought he should be. To rectify that, he decided to find the “top book in the world” on SUCCESS and apply that book literally Word for Word to his life. That Book is Think & Grow Rich. The book says there's a SECRET for success, but the author only gives you half the secret. John figured out the full secret and a 12 minute a day technique to apply it.When John applied his 12 minute a day technique to his life, he saw his yearly income go to over $5 million a year, after 20 years of $200k - 300k per year. The 25 times increase happened because John LEVERAGED himself by applying science to his life. His daily technique works because it focuses you ONLY on what moves the needle, triples your discipline, and consistently generates new business ideas every week. This happens because of 3 key aspects of the leveraging process.John's technique was profiled on the cover of Time Magazine. He teaches it at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business, which is one the TOP 5 business schools in the country. He is also the “mental coach” for the head athletic coaches at the University of Texas as well.Reach out to John at john@thinkitbeit.comLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-mitchell-76483654/Kelly HatfieldKelly Hatfield is an entrepreneur at heart. In this episode John and Kelly talk about the importance of one's morning routine. In fact, John says that a person's morning routine will determine their success in life. That one thing more than anything else. And he talks about the think it be it 12 minute a day technique. John and Kelly's morning routine is simply applying the 12 minute a day technique to their respective lives. Reading the succinct articulation of their life from the life GPS template each day. John talks about how simple the concept is. Step one is you create immense clarity about your life. Exactly the person you want to be, exactly what you want to accomplish, and precisely how you can achieve your clearly defined goals. Then step two is feed that clarity to yourself each day – using the think it be it template. That's what makes everything succinct so it only takes 12 minutes a day to read. And then the third step. After 21 days of feeding that clarity to yourself each day, it then influences your daily thoughts and actions. And those upgraded daily actions then create the life you want. Powerfully simple. John and Kelly laugh about why people can't get what seems to be so profoundly simple.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing.
