We will hear Jesus emphasizing again the need to forgive the others, since God forgives us our sins and faults. That is the bottom reason for the Christian duty of charity to forgive and excuse the others. The Lord points out that there should be no limit to having to do this. Our divine Redeemer narrates the story about two servants. The first experienced being forgiven of the great debt he owed the master. The second one suffered not being understood and forgiven of his small debt to the first servant. The master reprimanded him especially because he was forgiven himself.
After God promised blessings to Israel if they will walk in accordance with His statutes, He now issues warnings of what He will do if they will not hear. The issue that He will judge is not even the disobedience directly. It is instead of thinking that His commandments are good, they will despise His commandments. It is the hatred of God commanding them which is what causes the disobedience and the judgment. He will appoint terror for them and fill them with fear. They will be consumed by mourning. They will not have food, because their enemies will pillage it. If after all that, they still will not listen, then He promised to punish them seven times harder. He will break the pride of their power. He will make everything they set their hand to a waste and vanity. If they still will not obey, He will bring on them seven times more plagues. He will send beasts among them and have their enemies execute them with the sword. He will cut off their food, so that everything will need to be rationed. God is not passively sitting by. When they refused to obey, He treats them like His child and increases the punishment. God will never lose that battle, but (like Satan) they are confident that they can win anyway. We should never deceive ourselves. If we fight God, we lose.

In this energizing episode of Inspiration Nation, Lee Kemp, Ryan Boniface, and Jose Noya explore the timeless Japanese proverb: "Fall seven times, stand up eight." From business ventures to personal growth, they encourage listeners to see rejection not as defeat but as valuable learning.Whether you're building your side hustle, chasing career goals, or striving for self-improvement, this episode reminds us that "yet" is a powerful word—your breakthrough could be just around the corner. Tune in for inspiration on resilience, growth mindset, overcoming failure, and embracing new strategies when plans don't work out the first (or seventh) time.

After Jesus's teaching on "church discipline," and then before his Parable of the Unforgiving Servant, Jesus has this little dialogue with Peter, which is both fascinating and helpful to us as we consider the radical forgiveness Jesus calls us his people to.
Because coal is bulky, tricky, dusty and unsightly stuff, storing it between its arrival in Hong Kong and it getting used was always a problem. That's because as demand rose, so the amount of coal needed to be kept on hand increased accordingly: from around 3,000 tonnes in 1844 to more like 10,000 tons twenty years later and, forty years after that, 100,000 tons. That's a lot of real estate. Ad hoc solutions ruled the roost over the first twenty or so years – including that of the P&O Company that stored its coal afloat in a hulk (ship without masts or sailed), the ex-East Indiaman, the Fort William from the late 1840s until the late 1870s. Interestingly, that doesn't seem to have been the most usual solution. The Fort William is the only coal hulk ever mentioned. Most coal was stored on land, which provoked an expected NIMBY reaction. Efforts were always being made to get it out of sight…well, out of the gweilos' sight. The happy solution turned up in 1860 after the 2nd Opium War. The Kowloon Peninsula was empty of upmarket gweilos and out of their sight. Perfect. For the next eighty years it became the site of most of the largest coalyards both for commercial use and for the Royal Navy. Hong Kong Island didn't escape entirely, but the coalyards got shoved out to the edge, first in Wan Chai and then in the North Point/Taikoo area. After WW2 demand for coal for fuel disappeared in favour of oil, so coalyards dwindled to two large government owned and operated yards at Lai Chi Kok and the Taikoo end of North Point. That's until the 1970s oil shock, when suddenly Hong Kong's electricity generating stations decided coal was cheaper. That's how come in the last 50 years (c.1975-2025) Hong Kong has imported SEVEN TIMES more coal than it imported in its first century during the heyday of the steam ship. Happily for us all, the two power companies store what is at any one time about 250,000 tons of the stuff way out of sight on the west coast of Lamma Island and at Castle Peak beyond Tuen Mun.
The James Beard Award has been a kingmaker in the food business since the 1980s. Even getting a nomination can be life-changing. Chef Jay Blackinton – a punk musician and self-described wannabee skateboarder – has been nominated seven times. He’s self-taught and runs a buzzy two-man kitchen on Orcas Island. And this year, he’s been named a James Beard Award finalist in the Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific category. Seattle restaurants Archipelago and Atoma are also finalists in the Outstanding Hospitality and Best New Restaurant categories, respectively. Not a single eatery from Washington state has taken home the big prize in the past three years. If Chef Blackinton wins, it could change the fate of his restaurant, which is both nurtured and challenged by its remote location. Guest: Jay Blackinton is the head chef at Houlme in Eastsound on Orcas Island, and is a James Beard Award Finalist for Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific category Thank you to the supporters of KUOW, you help make this show possible! The song “Seven Times Greater” is a powerful anthem of faith, perseverance, and divine deliverance, inspired by the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3). It draws on the imagery of the furnace heated seven times hotter, symbolizing the intense trials we face, and God's power to not only protect but also elevate those who trust in Him.Support the show
We dive back into the Giallo world this week with The Red Queen Kills Seven Times. This our firs foray into the filmography of Emilio Miraglia; unfortunately, this was his final film. Though Miraglia was a prolific filmmaker, this was only his second giallo, this first being The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave. The Red Queen Kills Seven Times follows two sisters Evelyn and Kitty, an alleged curse and the typical red herrings and plot twists that you can expect from these films. Daily QuoteI have an idea that the only thing which makes it possible to regard this world we live in without disgust is the beauty which now and then men create out of the chaos. The pictures they paint, the music they compose, the books they write, and the lives they lead. Of all these the richest in beauty is the beautiful life. That is the perfect work of art. (W.S. Judge Juan Merchan has set a hearing for Tuesday to discuss Donald Trump's violations of the gag order against him, and prosecutors are coming with all the ammo that they can find. On Thursday, they informed the judge that Donald Trump had violated at least 7 times already since jury selection began on Monday. Given the drama surrounding the doxxing of the jury, it is possible that the judge decides to throw the book at Trump to show that he's done playing. Also, a bill in Congress that would provide aid to Israel received an interesting new amendment, courtesy of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene's amendment would finally create the "space lasers" that she swears she never insisted were real. The worst part is that this isn't even the worst part of Greene's amendment spree this past week. She also tacked on an amendment to a bill to provide aid to Ukraine that is somehow even weirder than her space laser request. Finally, the Trump Media group is panicking right now as their stock prices continue to fall. They sent around a memo this week telling investors and shareholders how to prevent their stocks from ending up in the hands of "short sellers" who are betting the price of the stock is going to drop even further. This is a bad sign for the company, as short sellers are more like the vultures that are circling a wounded animal on the plains, and that's never a good omen.Subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay up to date on all of Farron's content: https://www.youtube.com/FarronBalancedFollow Farron on social media!Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FarronBalanced/Twitter: https://twitter.com/farronbalancedInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/farronbalancedTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@farronbalanced?lang=en
