Welcome to the first-ever real Dinner for Shoes vlog. For episode 92, I'm taking you inside New York Fashion Week — aka full-on fashion editor chaos. Come with me to my Alice + Olivia fitting, the Christian Siriano runway show, Kate Spade's Galentine's Day event, Ulla Johnson, AREA, Sandy Liang, Cult Gaia, and more . . . plus a few very stressed cab rides in between. You'll see what fashion week actually looks like from the inside: backstage moments, outfit changes, missed lines while reporting, and the very real panic of thinking you won't make it to the next show. It's rare to see a fashion editor document the full experience like this — and making fashion feel accessible (not exclusive) is exactly why I created Dinner for Shoes.Stick around until the end for my full Fall/Winter 2026 trend report, including: Wild Night, Wuthering Heights High, Metallic Midnights, and Gilded Equestrian — plus the color trends you'll be seeing everywhere: Jewel Tones, Ethereal Peach, Candy Apple Red, Steel-Sky Blue, Dark Yellow, Lime, and Plum.Whether you love runway fashion, street style, or just want to know what really happens during NYFW, this one's for you.Subscribe to Dinner for Shoes for more on-the-scene episodes, behind-the-scenes access, and real conversations about style, identity, and the industry.Shop my Fashion Week looksVIDEO CHAPTERS00:00 INTRO00:34 ALICE + OLIVIA FITTING01:40 CHRISTIAN SIRIANO RUNWAY SHOW04:16 KATE SPADE GALENTINE'S DAY EVENT05:06 ULLA JOHNSON RUNWAY SHOW07:02 AREA RUNWAY SHOW08:04 ALICE + OLIVIA PRESENTATION09:24 SANDY LIANG RUNWAY SHOW11:00 CULT GAIA RUNWAY SHOW12:36 FALL WINTER 2026 FASHION TRENDS THIS PRODUCTIONis created, written, hosted, and produced by Sarah Wasilak.is creative directed and executive produced by Megan Kai.is tech supervised by Nick.includes photos and videos in chronological order by Sarah Wasilak, Ulla Johnson, Alice + Olivia, Abercrombie & Fitch, Getty/Edward Berthelot, GoRunway, KHAITE, Altuzarra, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Collina Strada, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Markarian, LAPOINTE, Simkhai, Carolina Herrera, Christian Siriano, Ulla Johnson, LaQuan Smith, Calvin Klein, Diotima, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Cult Gaia, Tibi, Sergio Hudson, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Sandy Liang.references Natalie Ruiz for Maybelline. is made with love.Dinner for Shoes is a podcast about style and identity, bridging the gap for anyone who has ever felt like fashion is an exclusive world. Introduced by our very own Andreas Munk Holm, this EUVC Live at GoWest series spotlights the thought leadership of policymakers, institutional investors, GPs, corporates, and public capital leaders around one defining question:How does Europe mobilise its own capital to secure its technological future?Across the sessions, one theme emerges repeatedly:Europe does not lack talent. It does not lack innovation. It does not lack savings. It lacks coordination.ShareIn The Case for a United European LP Strategy, Philippe Tibi (The Tibi Initiative, French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Recovery; Professor at École Polytechnique Paris) lays out the macroeconomic argument.Europe holds over €35 trillion in household assets.Yet European champions too often scale under foreign ownership with foreign upside. The issue is not capital scarcity. It is capital allocation.Tibi's prescription is direct:Mobilise pension funds and insurers to treat venture and technology as core asset classes, not alternatives, but necessities. For returns. And for sovereignty. In The Path to a United European LP Strategy, Chris Elphick (BVCA) and Philippe Tibi discuss how this mobilisation is playing out in practice. The obstacles are structural:regulatory conservatismfragmented mandatescultural risk aversionlimited cross-border coordinationInstitutional allocations to venture remain near zero in many jurisdictions.Reform is not optional. If Europe wants to capture more of the value it creates, institutional capital must move.Succeeding in Venture as a Long-Term Capital Investor shifts from policy to portfolio construction.Christina Brinck (Volvo Group VC), Daniel Keiper-Knorr (Speedinvest), and Joe Schorge (Isomer) explore how to underwrite European venture in a fragmented but maturing ecosystem.Recurring themes include:diversification across cyclespower-law return dynamicspatience as a structural advantagestrategic alignment with industrial directionFrom pension capital to corporate balance sheets, venture is positioned not as optional exposure. But as essential infrastructure for participating in technological transformation. The conversation then turns to public capital as ecosystem infrastructure. In The Role of Public Capital in European Venture Outcomes, Michiel Scheffer (European Innovation Council) explains how the EIC has funded hundreds of deep-tech companies and attracted private capital at scale. The EIC has funded hundreds of deep-tech companies and attracted private capital at scale.Public capital, he argues, is not distortion. It is market completion.Especially in:deep techunderserved geographiesgrowth-stage financing gapsWhen private markets hesitate, public capital can anchor. Not to replace the market. But to enable it.In Catalyst or Competitor? Why the European Investment Fund Exists and How It Shapes Venture, Adem Yakisirer outlines how EIF has backed more than 1,600 fund managers and built a financing continuum from pre-seed to pre-IPO.EIF operates as:anchor investorcountercyclical stabiliserecosystem architectIn the following fireside Q&A, in which Adem is joined by Mia Grosen (Venture Partner in Catalyst or Competitor, Superseed) and Andreas Munk Holm, the tone becomes candid.Questions surface:Is Europe becoming too dependent on public anchors?Does institutional backing signal quality — or create complacency? How should sovereignty, defence, and deep tech priorities shape private capital behaviour?EIF strengthens the ecosystem. But it also becomes its gravitational centre.Across all sessions, the conclusion converges.Europe's constraint is not innovation. It is capital coordination. From LP mobilisation to cross-border collaboration. From private portfolio construction to public market-building.If Europe wants technological sovereignty and long-term competitiveness, capital must move:With intent. With alignment. With scale.

A hazai reggae zene ikonjával, a Ladánybene 27 alapítójával, Bodnár Tiborral beszélgetek, aki alkotótársaival több mint négy évtizede képviselik Magyarországon a reggae műfaját – a zenei irányzaton túl egyfajta életérzésként is. A zenekar már a sokadik, s egyben hagyományos Bob Marley-emlékkoncertet tartja Budapesten. A buli minden évben tisztelgés a reggae királya előtt, és már 1996 óta a hazai zenei élet egyik legkülönlegesebb eseménye. Tibi elárulta: „Ez hálaadás. Egy üzenet arról, hogy a zene képes jobbá tenni az embereket.”A műsorban, amelyet már napokkal ezelőtt hallhattak a Sláger FM hallgatói, szó esett a Ladánybene 27 sok évtizedes történetéről, a jamaicai utazásukról – ahol személyesen is jártak Bob Marley otthonában és sírjánál –, valamint arról, hogy a zenekar miért érzi küldetésének a reggae szellemiségének életben tartását. A zenekarvezető mesél arról is, hogyan látja a mai fiatal zenészeket, akik számára a Ladánybene 27 már legendává vált, és mitől maradhat hiteles egy zenekar ennyi évtized után is. „A reggae számunkra sosem divat volt, hanem életforma lett” – mondja.A Sláger FM-en minden este 22 órakor a kultúráé a főszerep S. Miller András az egyik oldalon, a másikon pedig a térség kiemelkedő színházi kulturális, zenei szcena résztvevői Egy óra Budapest és Pest megye aktuális kult történeteivel. Mátéhoz és Levihez ezen a héten Tibi csatlakozott, aki Magyarországon a 8., a világon pedig a 3519. helyen áll. Megegyezés született arról, kik azok a játékosok, akiknek mindenki fantasy csapatában érdemes helyet szorítani, és mellettük kik lehetnek még jó választások. Sok sikert!
Ireland has the potential to unlock €1- 2 billion of institutional capital to boost growth prospects of Irish SMEs and start-ups, according to the pre-budget submission published today by the Irish Venture Capital Association, which marks its 40th anniversary this year. "Threats to the Irish economy caused by increasingly isolationist US economic policy emphasises the need to recalibrate our own economic model," commented Caroline Gaynor, chairperson, Irish Venture Capital Association. "Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) will continue to be a pillar of the Irish economy, but its traditional impact is in decline as international competitors replicate our policies." She added: "It is important to note at a time of fiscal uncertainty due to global political headwinds that our proposals can be achieved without recourse to direct Government funding." The IVCA chairperson said that the submission coincides with the worst venture capital investment into Irish SMEs and start-ups for ten years, as funding plummeted from €494m to €112.6m in the second quarter of this year. The IVCA pre-budget submission recommends a number of government policies to stimulate private capital from Irish institutional investors, including pensions, insurers and banks, to co-invest in Irish VC and growth funds. "This would reduce our over-dependence on international VC funding, which accounted for three-quarters of total venture capital investment last year," added Ms Gaynor. "The big barrier in growing more global winners in Ireland, recognised by government and industry alike, is in scaling finance." She said that international funding has steadily increased from 49% of the total to 75% over the last four years on an annualised basis. "Larger, later-stage domestic funds would reduce this dependence on and indeed vulnerability to overseas investors." Sarah-Jane Larkin, director general, IVCA, pointed to new data which found that over 70% of international funding in the first half of this year went to companies that already had a previous or current investment round involving an Irish VC. "Ireland has a track record in picking winners and getting companies off the ground. It just shows what we could do if VC funds here were bigger. "And we don't have to reinvent the wheel to achieve this. We already have the playbook from other EU countries and the UK, which have implemented successful polices to boost private capital sources of funding." She pointed, for example, to the Dutch government, which has implemented several policies to encourage pension funds to invest in venture capital, aimed at enabling them to allocate an additional €100 billion to such investments over the next five years. France has a requirement for employees to be able to invest part of their pension in SMEs. France also mobilised €6.4 billion from its Tibi initiative, which channels institutional investment into the country's high-growth technology sector. In the UK, 17 major pension providers have committed to investing at least 10% of their defined contribution (DC) default funds in private markets by 2030, doubling the previous 5% target set in 2023. The German coalition government aims to mobilise at least €100 billion in private capital, targeting in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and scale-ups through its "Germany Fund". Sarah-Jane Larkin added: "The State has played a key role in boosting start-ups through landmark initiatives such as Enterprise Ireland's Seed and Venture Capital Scheme and the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF). As the IVCA enters its fifth decade, the priority now must be to provide the scaling finance to secure strategic autonomy and build a resilient, innovation-led economy that is less exposed to global market volatility, and ensure that Irish companies have the capital needed to grow locally and compete globally." On this special New York Fashion Week edition of the Glossy Podcast, we're kicking off our Fashion Month coverage. New York Fashion Week has officially started, and the shows are underway. On this episode, senior fashion reporter Danny Parisi, international reporter Zofia Zwieglinska and editor-in-chief Jill Manoff give a preview of what they'll be looking for during the week, what shows are the most notable, and what New York Fashion Week's identity is now that many mainstay brands have moved their shows to Europe. First, we break down how the shows themselves are differing. The CFDA, along with a new organization called KFN, is experimenting with a new format this season, with 30 designers over the course of the week showing in a few centralized locations in lower Manhattan. The move is an effort to rein in the geographic sprawl that has affected New York Fashion Week over the last few years. While in previous decades, shows were centralized in places like Bryant Park or Spring Studios, recent years have seen shows continue to spread out across the city. Whether the move will be a success remains a question mark. But one thing that's certain is that brands are looking for ways to cut costs this season. Several shows this week are held at the brand's own stores, office or headquarters. We also discuss some notable shows this week, including Ralph Lauren, Tibi and Christian Siriano, which is showing at Macy's, plus the return of the Rachel Antonoff x Susan Alexandra dog show. And lastly, we talk about New York's place in the global fashion landscape. While many of the big brands, including American brands, have moved their shows to Paris or Milan, New York Fashion Week has slowly morphed into a great showcase for indie and advanced contemporary brands.

In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the concept of measuring the key behaviors on your goals. During this podcast at the start John mentions that by using the TIBI methodology, you're living your life quarter by quarter. Which means that you have a new goal for your career, a new goal for your romantic relationship, and a new goal for your health every quarter. Accordingly, you define the goal, define the why behind the goal, then list the three or four key behaviors associated with the goal. Then how are you going to measure achieving the goal and the timeframe. The timeframe is always the end of the quarter. During this podcast John mentions that it's critical to get the TIBI app from the Apple or Google app store. The primary purpose of the app is to measure your key behaviors every Sunday morning. And it's very simple. You are allowed in the app to track seven key behaviors on your three different goals. And so the process begins by each Sunday morning recording your numbers for the most current week. Then once you've got the numbers in for the current week, the second step. You compare your current week's numbers to your goal and also maybe your prior week performance. Then you see what you need to improve on. This takes all of about three minutes. But it's incredibly powerful.During this podcast John and Kelly also talk about the idea of challenging your subconscious mind with deadlines. John got this idea from a podcast done by Ed Mylett on the subconscious mind. He was saying that the subconscious mind responds to deadlines. Try that in your life. Something that you're trying to figure out, give your subconscious mind a deadline for doing so. In this episode of The Missing Secret Podcast, John and Kelly discuss the idea of making the audience appreciate individually how precious their life is. Coming to grips with that. John talks about when this really came home in his life. It was when his mom was dying of pancreatic cancer when he was 50 years old. At the same time John was engrossed in reading think and grow Rich probably 20 times to figure out the full secret of that legendary book. And as he would go to the hospital every night to see his mom, after he saw her he would cry his eyes out in the hospital parking lot for like 45 minutes every night. John had never experienced anything so gut wrenching. What he came to realize was that he felt like he was letting his mom down with his average life. After his mom and dad had given him all the advantages. That's when John really came to appreciate how precious his life as he saw the gift of life leaving his mom. And in the end, that feeling of letting his mom down with his life with like rocket fuel in causing John to go deeper than anyone on the planet ever had to figure out the full secret of think and grow Rich. And the essence of what John created with his 12 minute a day technique is a way of doing life. Most people are just winging life. They don't have an actual way of doing life. But that's what the think it be it 12 minute a day methodology is. An actual way of doing life. During this podcast John also brings up another concept. You're the problem and you're the solution. Whatever problem you have in your life you are the problem. But here's the good news. You're also the solution. Once you grasp this, it's tremendously empowering. And you use the TIBI methodology to implement the solution. And then finally John and Kelly talk about the process of enlightenment. It's not linear. There are pivotal moments in your life where your level of enlightenment goes much higher. From learning one or two key things from someone more enlightening you are.Buy John's book, THE MISSING SECRET of the Legendary Book Think and Grow Rich : And a 12-minute-a-day technique to apply it here.About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. This year, the Glossy Podcast featured top executives from fashion's leading companies discussing the challenges they're navigating and the strategies they're investing in, among other topics. Throughout the conversations, several topics surfaced repeatedly. They included the changing role of department stores, the importance of opening stores and the perks of a strong brand heritage at a time when a brand story is everything. Navigating the right time to fundraise and catering to new consumer shopping behaviors, especially as a result of inflation, were also top topics. This special Year in Review episode features highlights from the year's podcasts broken down by these topics. Have a listen to hear from industry insiders including Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon, Tibi founder and creative director Amy Smilovic, and Etsy president and Chief Growth Officer Kruti Patel Goyal.
Scott Kerr is joined by Amy Smilovic, founder and creative director behind popular fashion brand Tibi, and whose personal style ethos of 'creative pragmatism' has amassed a large devoted following. Amy Smilovic founded the women's luxury brand Tibi in 1997, and over the years, she's honed her distinctive brand identity and coined a phrase for her design philosophy: creative pragmatism. If you're a creative pragmatist like Smilovic, you find your style rooted in creative expression and utility, and you feel at home in an aesthetic that is at once chill, modern, and classic. Written from the point of view that style can indeed be learned, her book The Creative Pragmatist details all of her guiding principles, from how to style colors and prints in a way that feels modern to how to pick basics that aren't, well, basic. Smilovic has developed a highly analytical approach to making outfits look effortless, and she's breaking down her greatest and most useful style tips for us this week.
