https://www.reesfineart.com Timothy Rees began his pursuit of art by moving to Chicago in 2009 to paint in the open studios of the Palette and Chisel Academy. After one year he joined the staff of instructors, and soon began teaching workshops locally and abroad. In 2012 he moved to Scottsdale, where he later created and taught a classical art program for the Scottsdale Artist School. In 2017 he opened an atelier, where between 10 and 15 apprentices studied under him at any given time. In 2020 he moved to Iowa, where he paints in his downtown studio. Throughout his decade of painting he has appeared in numerous publications such as Fine Art Connoisseur, International Artist, Southwest Art, and American Art Collector. He has won various awards, including first place in Portrait Society of America's Members only Competition, Art Renewal Center's Gallery Award, FASO's Bold Brush award, and People's Choice Award in the SAS Beaux Arts Show and P&C Gold medal show. He has filmed two instructional videos with Streamline Publishing, and has created a comprehensive remote atelier training program with textbooks and 200 hours of instructional video, for those unable to attend a traditional atelier. Timothy paints a range of subjects and in various techniques, but is best known for his loose all prima portraits, striking life-size figure paintings, and naturalistic outdoor figure paintings of women and children. While some of his work has a narrative or a message, he says the most important thing with his paintings is to add to the inherent beauty of the world.

Tim first became interested in nutrition to support his clients when working as a personal trainer in 2003. He pushed a little deeper into nutrition science and was able to tame some of his childhood diseases using diet. In 2012, due to an environmental issue, Tim went from super fit to very ill. Over the next few years he was diagnosed with Meniere's disease (inner ear condition), alopecia universalis, mast cell activation disease (MCAD) and other seemingly unconnected conditions. Conventional medicine was unable to help and so, like so many people today, Tim was told to live with it. However, his existing knowledge gave him hope and the motivation to learn so that he could reverse his conditions and stop watching his dreams disappear. Later in 2012 Tim began a year of bio-chemistry to allow access onto a Dip and then BSc in nutritional therapy. After much trial and error, Tim managed to restore his health and continues to grow as a person and practitioner focussing on chronic diseases that offer little hope to the sufferers. His recommendations are supported by the available research and he resists being swept along by the fashion and fad that has invaded nutrition science. An experienced presenter and writer, he enjoys making the complexities of nutrition science more digestible for any audience whilst injecting some common sense and fun into the process. Tim always offers achievable, real-world solutions with nutrition from solid basics to helping with specific issues. Tim is married to his amazing wife, Vera, with whom he lives in Bavaria, where the Alps can be seen from his home office. He loves nothing more than to be outside walking in the mountains, or swimming in the local lakes whilst enjoying the highest quality, nutrient dense foods from his local community. Tim Rees introduces the book of Exodus
A final sermon in our study of Genesis by Tim Rees.
Tim Rees carefully considers Jesus' call in Luke 12 to seek first righteousness and His Kingdom - even through our stewardship of money and resources. Luke 12:22–34 (NIV) Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. 32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Can mess encourage racism? New research by Dutch researchers has found that in a messy and disordered environments people think more in stereotypes and even racist thinking. Claudia Hammond speaks to Professor Siegwart Lindenberg, a social scientist at Tilburg University in Holland, who also explains how the experiment examined unconscious negative responses to race too. In a messy railway station, people sat on average further from a black person than a white one, whereas in the clean station there was no statistical difference. What implications does this research have for social policy and keeping areas prone to racial violence tidy? Sport and one man's win is another's despair. How we bounce back from defeat is a matter of huge psychological debate. Claudia speaks to Dr Tim Rees from Exeter University who has co-authored a recent paper examining the influence of different feedback on improving performance. The research (in which the participants played darts, blindfolded) found that when positive feedback to failure put the emphasis on change being within your control, there was significant improvement in performance. From psychiatric ward to Psychiatric Tales. Darryl Cunningham's interest in mental health because of his own problems, led him to work in that field too. Although he found he was not quite cut out for such a stressful job, he tells Claudia how he's turned a diary from that time into a published book of comic strips.
