Arriving in Los Angeles, she continued to model, getting her first acting work in short films, and cutting her producing teeth on Stated, a 17-episode series in which she put a twisted slant on dramatizing classic poems. Featured guest: Karen Wright, Ohio Education Association 2021 Education Support Professional of the Year Karen Wright has served as the Wellington High School Principal's Secretary in Wellington Exempted Village Schools in Lorain County for 30 years, spending the last 20 years as President of the Wellington Support Staff Association. She grew up in a union family, joining her first union (Local 880, Retail Clerks) at age 18. Karen and her husband, Ralph, a retired school custodian, have one son, Mark, and three daughters, Robin, Missy, and Dawn. They have 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Karen will be retiring from her job at Wellington High School at the end of the 2020-2021 school year. She says the Wellington Support Staff local has a fantastic vice president and secretary/treasurer so she knows things will be in good hands.  In this episode:"So many times whenever I first started in the Association, it was "you're just a..." -- 'just a secretary,' 'just a bus driver' -- but I don't get that anymore. I feel like we are at the same table with teachers and higher ed and everybody. We are accepted. And so to me, being recognized as an ESP is just a tremendous honor." 1:45 - OEA ESP of the Year Award: "It's a great honor. Hip hop MC King Kapisi - Bill Urale got his start in his hometown of Wellington playing drums in bands while at Wellington High School.  His first time rapping on stage was guesting with Wellington group Noise N Effect who would open up the mic at their gigs for all comers. On stage NZ-born Samoan King Kapisi is a Kiwi hip-hop legend.  He’s performed at nearly every major New Zealand music event and alongside The Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson and the Beastie Boys, to name just a few. Kansas has lost one of its most high-profile wrestling personalities. Joe Seay is a stand out in the history of wrestling in the state of Kansas. He was born in Oklahoma, but was raised in Wellington, Kansas where he graduated from Wellington High School in 1958. He won the 141-pound state championship during his senior year and went on to compete for Kansas State University. Seay was a successful high school coach in California before creating a nation power in NCAA Division II at Cal State Bakersfield. That success led him to Oklahoma State University, where he brought back to back NCAA titles to the Pokes in 1989 and 1990. He was at OSU from 1985-91. Seay went on to various coaching positions including with USA Wrestling national teams and at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Coach Seay passed away yesterday at the age of 80. One of Seay's star recruits in the last 80s, Tony Purler remembers his former coach.

Stanley Marshall is a house painter and tutor at Wellington High School's Community Education Centre. He later lived in London for 12 years, during which time he worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and completed an MSc in sustainability and business leadership at the University of Bath.In 2010, Shaw returned to NZ and worked as a consultant for HSBC bank on "environmental awareness programmes for future leaders". In 2014 was elected to the New Zealand parliament as a representative of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. He was elected the party's male co-leader in May 2015.As well as being co-leader of the Green Party, Shaw is also the spokesperson for economic development, commerce, trade & investment, tourism, small business, sustainable business, SOEs, open government and electoral reform.
