IN THE BEDROOM, the 2001 Oscar nominated motion picture, was given praise by movie critic Roger Ebert as the best film he had seen at Sundance. It is a family drama, but it also is much more than that. Generational, getting old, losing a loved one, and seeing the end of a family line. The movie was ground breaking in many ways and has become a classic. From IMDB: A New England couple's college-aged son dates an older woman who has two small children and an unwelcome ex-husband.The film was directed by Todd Field who also acts. He co-wrote the script with Robert Festinger based off the story KILLINGS by Andre Dubus. The cast is filled with big names including Sissy Spacek, Tom Wilkinson, Marisa Tomei, Nick Stahl, and William Mapother. It received fabulous reviews and earned over $40M USD at the box office. Your co-hosts take a look at this classic film and give their thoughts.
Self-mutilate this, fluid boy, because we're talking Blue Ribbons and hack jobs in David Nutter's teenybopper version of The Stepford Wives in 1998's Disturbing Behavior! John Connor is a fictional character and the male protagonist of the Terminator franchise. Created by writer/director James Cameron, the character is first referred to in the 1984 film The Terminator and first appears in its 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day (T2). In the character's first appearance, John is portrayed by Edward Furlong as a child, and briefly by Michael Edwards as an adult in a small role. Other actors have portrayed the character in subsequent films, including Nick Stahl, Christian Bale, and Jason Clarke. In addition, Thomas Dekker portrayed John Connor in the two-season television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The character serves as a protagonist in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), and Terminator Salvation (2009), the antagonist of the film Terminator Genisys (2015), and has a brief cameo in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) John Constantine (/ˈkɒnstənˌtaɪn/)[1] is a fictional antihero who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. Constantine first appeared in Swamp Thing #37 (June 1985), and was created by Alan Moore, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben. The titular Hellblazer,[2][3] Constantine is a working-class warlock, occult detective, and con man from Liverpool who is stationed in London. He is known for his endless cynicism, deadpan wit, ruthless cunning, and constant chain smoking, but he is also a passionate humanitarian driven by a heartfelt desire to do some good in his life. Originally a supporting character who played a pivotal role in the "American Gothic" Swamp Thing storyline, Constantine received his own comic in 1988. The musician Sting was a visual inspiration for the character.[4] The Hellblazer series was the longest-running and most successful title of DC's Vertigo imprint.[5] Empire ranked Constantine third in their 50 Greatest Comic Characters of All Time,[6] while IGN ranked him number 29 in its Top 100 Comic Book Heroes, and the character ranked number 10 in Wizard's Top 200 Comic Book Characters of All Time. The character made his live-action debut in the film Constantine (2005), played by Keanu Reeves. On television, Constantine was played in the television series Constantine by Matt Ryan, who later reprised the character in the Arrowverse series Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash, and several animated productions. Jenna Coleman later portrayed a female version of the character (and her ancestor) in the television series The Sandman, adapting both Constantines' roles from the comic series. Some writers who have written his stories have claimed to "see" him.[4][7][8]

Today on The Storehouse Media Podcast, Sherrie Clark and Neil "The Media Giant" Haley of The Neil Haley Show interview Nick Stahl. Nick Stahl was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 5, 1979, to Donna Lynn, a brokerage assistant, and William Kent Stahl, a businessman. After his mother took him to see a children's play at the age of four, Nick confidently declared that acting would be his future. Commercials and community plays followed, two television movies were also released in the early 90s. The breakthrough he needed came next when he starred alongside Mel Gibson, who hand-selected Nick for the role, in The Man Without a Face (1993). Nick played Chuck, the little boy who befriends a stranger that was disfigured in an accident. At age 17 he was cast in Disturbing Behavior (1998) and the ensemble film The Thin Red Line (1998), which was nominated for Best Picture by the Academy Awards. He has continued to find success with acting, and though he has been featured in major studio productions he is still, to date, more widely known for his edgier and darker indie film roles.

A fantastic episode of BEHIND THE LENS that's jam-packed with two talented filmmakers, MICHAEL OBLOWITZ and BENJAMIN POLLACK – both who have a music video background – and actor JON LINDSTROM who many of the "General Hospital" fans out there will recognize, as we talk about CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT and WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JONNY FAITH. Right out of the gate, writer/director MICHAEL OBLOWITZ and actor JON LINDSTROM join us discussing their new film CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT. A well-paced slow-burn noir police thriller with a twist, CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT boasts an exceptional cast (along with Lindstrom, there's Mel Gibson, Nick Stahl, Dominic Purcell, and Kate Bosworth) and an interesting story POV that we rarely, if ever, see onscreen. We get into all the ins and outs of the "making of" CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT including Michael's A-list cast, crafting and conveying authenticity and reality, the very specific color palette and production design and how that plays into the work of cinematographer Chris Squires, performances, and more, while Jon has some great insight for us on working with Michael, selecting projects, his approach to acting, informing his character, and, of course, what's up on "General Hospital"! Then it's a big welcome for writer/director/editor BENJAMIN POLLACK who also joins us live talking about his new dramatic short narrative film WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO JONNY FAITH. A "Must See" Festival Film at the upcoming LA Shorts Fest (the film screens July 20th), this one has got all the feels, plus a terrific cast, beautiful lensing, and strong production values.Energetic and passionate, Benjamin shares all about "the making of" as he discusses the genesis of the film, transitioning from music videos and documentary short films to a narrative film, the benefit of directing and editing (especially with a short film), bringing together a dynamite cast with musician/actor Frank Noon in the title role, Bruce Greenwood, Wayne Knight, Debbie Pollack, and a "cameo" appearance by famed guitarist Rusty Anderson. http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

The late 1990s saw a boom in teen horror films following the success of Scream, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. One of the titles that saw its share of excitement over its production was Disturbing Behavior, starring James Marsden, Nick Stahl, Katie Holmes, and Katherine Isabelle. This film had success written all of it. Magazines like Fangoria and YM gave it some ink, but if you have watched any of these episodes before, you know that, as always, things did not go exactly to plan. So let's head back to the late 90s and find out WTF Happened To This Horror Movie?

Welcome to the Nick Taylor Horror Show. As always, each episode of The Nick Taylor Horror Show explores how today's horror filmmakers are getting their movies made while deconstructing their methods and career strategies into practical insights that you can use on your own horror filmmaking journey. Join me in welcoming Vincent Grashaw! Vincent is a writer-director known for films like Coldwater, And Then I Go, and last year's stunner, What Josiah Saw. What Josiah Saw is a southern gothic psychological horror drama that takes us into the heart of a dysfunctional family's grim reunion at their remote farmhouse. The film unravels a tapestry of secrets and sins, ultimately confronting the profound impact of generational trauma. With an exceptional ensemble cast including Robert Patrick, Nick Stahl, Scott Haze, and Kelli Garner, What Josiah Saw is a powerful and unflinching piece of southern fried noir cinema. The film holds a rightfully earned 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and you can catch it right now on Shudder. I highly recommend this film but be careful who you watch it with because it gets pretty intense. Here are some key takeaways from this conversation with Vincent Grashaw: Vet your actors. Lots of well-known actors disappear from the limelight simply because they're difficult to work with. Talent is not enough, your actors have to be cooperative and collaborative or else you can be in a world of pain. This is why it's critical to dig deeper into your potential hires. Speak to producers, casting directors, and trustworthy actors. See if they're game for the demands of your production, including long hours, low budgets and shooting styles. This is vital for your lead actors but also goes for your key crew. A single ego can disrupt the whole set's harmony. So, do your vetting, awkward as it may feel, it'll save you substantial heartache. There's an insight in every note. When gathering feedback on edits for Josiah, Vincent discovered that those unattached to the movie were typically more objective, even if their notes sometimes annoyed him or suggested they missed the movie's point. He learned to check his ego when facing feedback, striving to find the truth in every single critique. It's easy to shrug off notes and feedback, and that's often your ego talking. After your first edit, you're likely too close to your movie to spot its flaws. So heed the feedback, even if it seems uninformed at first glance. Find the commonalities in the notes and dig beyond yourself to figure out what needs fixing. Overprepare. The beautiful direction and tonal unity inWhat Josiah Saw didn't happen by chance. Vincent stressed that over-preparation grants you the leeway to be organic during shooting. Yet, relying on spontaneity without preparation is a straight path to failure. A director's job is to be so deeply rooted in their vision of the movie that they can pivot at a moment's notice and answer the thousands of questions that arise on the day. Seemingly paradoxical, over-preparation is your secret weapon for improvisation, allowing you to adapt swiftly and effectively to any curveball the production throws at you. Thanks as always for listening and keep an eye out for Vincent's upcoming project "Bang Bang," a gritty drama starring Tim Blake Nelson as a retired boxer who finds redemption through caring for his grandson. Thank you for listening! Don't forget to subscribe. ----- Produced by Simpler Media

Today we sit down with the super talented, Nick Stahl. I was so excited for this show. Nick did not disappoint. Nick talks us all about coming up the industry. Reconciling a rocket ship launch to stardom while trying to find his identity as a young boy. He talks about his work in the Terminator, Bully, Man Without a face, and many others. Nick talks about how moving to austin was the best thing he's done. It's given him a greater appreciation for the work.. He's one of our favorites. I hope you guys like the interview as much as we liked hangin with him.
Welcome to the finale of "The Fate We Make." Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog" Dykes, Joel DeWitte, and Ryan Lootens wrap up this series with a look at the Terminator franchise overall and how it has remained ambitious throughout, even if the execution wasn't up to snuff. A dense episode with a lot to unpack so stop reading these shownotes and hit that play button.
This week on another exciting chapter of "The Fate We Make" Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Roomba" Dykes, Joel "DJ Roomba" DeWitte, and Ryan "Rosie" Lootens come together once again to discuss 'Terminator: Dark Fate,' the worst sequel with perhaps the best ideas. There's also a prolonged introduction where the Binge Buddies attempt to figure out Aziz Ansari's name, and all the Americans in the cast learn about the verb hoovering.
This week, Drew and Badway try to figure out what's going on in Cradle Bay, Washington during 1998's teen thriller Disturbing Behavior. The guys discuss the prospect of the New Kid In School rejecting potential friends, “Punk Rock” Katie Holmes, what Nick Stahl, Edward Furlong and Giovanni Ribisi have in common, and why Badway was a good candidate to join the Blue Ribbons. --- Subscribe & Follow Us: Spotify Apple Podcasts Google Podcasts Twitter Facebook Instagram YouTube

Howdy and welcome to another exciting edition of "The Fate We Make," the Terminator retrospective. The Binge Buddies, featuring Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Helper" Dykes, Joel "Clank" DeWitte, and Ryan "Daft Punk" Lootens join forces to take on 'Terminator Genisys,' which is some really dumb fun packed alongside some interesting ideas.
This week on The Fate We Make the Binge Buddies, composed of Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Johnny 5" Dykes, Joel "Marvin the Paranoid Android" DeWitte, and Ryan "R2-D2" Lootens "excitedly" sit down to discuss 'Terminator Salvation.' It's got Christian Bale in it, and it's got up-and-coming names that are going to be big, and McG directed the thing so it can't be bad, right? RIGHT? It's the best one ever, RIGHT?!?!?! Should probably listen to the episode and find out just how great this film is.
This week on another exciting episode of The Fate We Make, Bryan Dressel, Matt "Zombie Dog Robbie the Robot" Dykes, Joel "Optimus Prime" DeWitte, and Ryan "HAL" Lootens adjust their expectations to talk about the third Terminator film, 'Rise of the Machines.' It actually isn't that bad of a film and as the Binge Buddies mention up top, it's better than what's to come.
