Again With This: Beverly Hills, 90210 & Melrose Place

Between her great new radio gig and the removal of her wrist monitor, Kimberly is really feeling herself. And it turns out she'd like men to feel her too -- as many as she can get! She's so busy scoring that she maaaaaay not devote enough concern to Vic, who keeps calling the show to tell her how bad he thinks her advice is. However, she DOES take a break from her sexcapades to warn Sydney that receiving a gift of flowers from Michael means that he's cheating on her. He's not, exactly -- he's just lying and sneaking around with Jane, who's just using him to make Richard jealous. At least, that's the state of play...for now. Jake has been stewing over Matt's suspicions about Shelly's shadiness regarding the books, but when he confronts her, she shrugs off his worries and volunteers the password she thought she already gave him, no big deal! But Matt's not willing to drop the matter. While Bobby commences his project of following Amanda around Los Angeles looking for a chance to murder her, Amanda tries to stay away from Peter, but ultimately fails. And Alison moves the last of her stuff out of her apartment and into the manor just in time for Hayley to announce that he's got buyers on the hook, suddenly and despite not having said anything to Alison about it until they've toured the place. Seems weird but maybe this is just how rich people are??? This episode is somewhat experimental. First off, it might as well be entitled, "Where in the World is Bobby Fludd." ... While Bobby is off gallivanting around the country, Jordan being left to his own devices enlists the help of a friend to discuss the finer points of the power and symbolism of music. Although the audio quality is not great, the discussion most certainly is.

It's still the 50s vs. the 60s today in America. Those who are seekers vs. those who play by some imaginary set of rules conjured up by man's view of god and his beliefs about mysticism and magic. It's that thin layer just above consciousness when you leave the physical world and the perceptions and the worry and the prophets on the burning shore. What's funny now is that those who who pushed back in the 60s now seem more like their opponents in the fifties as they refuse to hand the baton off to younger street cats making love in a more interconnected, more image enhanced more digitized society. I want to live in America I do and my show exists because of non conformists like my guest who preferred to surround himself with a heterogenous mix of people you might find in a hotel on Mars while the Doors of Perception churn with tons of steel known as the Keystone Pipeline which will be buried underneath the wolves by the Silver Stream in the hallowed land that my guest pioneered hundreds if not thousands of times. My guest grew up in Wyoming and was inculcated with how it was is and will be. The game was over the fix was in until my guest went off to Wesleyan where he sought his own new found truths about existentialism and the multi-dimensional self. He tripped out with Timothy Leary and was back drinking Champagne from his Cowboy boot when boarding school Yay hoo Bob Weir reentered my guests life. It was at that point my guest turned his years of experiential learning into legacy. While Bobby worked on the melody my guest wrote poetry that wove it's way inside and out of the fabric of our culture. Gone astray you say everyday by the bay because voices tell me so...... My guest has always been on the edge of impulse. Creating terminology that encapsulates the insatiable web world. A world that his daughters are fully a part with new media and social media and communist media and The Electronic Frontier Foundation. His experience in The world of the Dead kept him in the moment of now because there is a fear down here we can't forget. It's got different names like perception and rumination and orthodoxy and ego all the things that my guest left in the tree tops to go looking for his kite. He is cagey, hard to corral, irascible and somewhat of a street scholar preferring experience over information. In 1999 he was ranked one of the top 25 most influential people in business even though he's not in financial services. In Jehovah's favorite choir he worked closely with a real choir boy named Brent Mydland helping him get stuff out of his system. Maybe you know how it feels, but maybe to you it don't seem so real. My guest has spent much of this century traveling to the origins of man in Africa. Mother Africa where he can bring his Bright blue ball to elucidate and inspire legions of young people who may not have every gadget or material good but the desire to seek, to evolve, to grow, see completion and change their world by being themselves..... The stratosphere is his church in conjunction with the soul which is what my show is about and is something my guest did not believe in until he tragically lost his soul mate Elizabeth Horner. Not a domestic partner, or someone who would make a good wife or husband but a soulmate. He docs emotionally and immediately either your in or your out and I'm all in. That wasn't always the case but all that Lightning will be my lightning too... Always inspiring, John Perry Barlow welcome to the JFS. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jake-feinberg/support

For the first time in my professional life, I have some concerns about summer camp opening. It’s not what I want to even think about. However, as Mr. Rogers used to say, if it’s human, it’s mentionable. And, if it’s mentionable, it’s manageable.  Like many other cultural institutions, summer camp has been greatly affected by Covid-19. Thankfully, there are a number of wonderful resources helping us learn more and devine a future forward. Whether it’s the actions of the American Camp Association national office, our local ACA offices, the Jewish Federation of Camps, our local Department of Health offices: they are doing their all to determine a safe path forward.  The other resource we have are those who have lived through something similar. When all this starting happening, one of the first people I thought of was Bobby Harris, the longtime camp director of URJ Camp Coleman. While Bobby has been in camping a little while longer than I have, we’ve got a lot of connections: time spent in Boston, experiences helping to lead multiple camps and the virus that brought originally together 12 years ago. Heck, he’s even got one of our former campers playing guitar on the welcome page of his website! This is a perfect time to learn from past and take inspiration for the future. Bobby Harris is the right camp director to provide both. I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation with my friend, Bobby Harris.

Two lifelong friends, Bobby Hewitson and Chris Gostkowski, had an idea of joining a paranormal group growing up. Years had passed since that day, when Bobby acted on that idea and joined a paranormal team. He quickly found that he dissatisfied with how it was being run. It was not like he expected and nothing like he imagined back when he and Chris talked about years before. There were no scientific methods being used at all, just a few physic mediums who talked about what they felt was going on. It seemed there was always more than one story as what exactly was going on, which really didn’t help the client. The answers given to the client had no basis on science, and only consisted of the mediums opinions. There was no “PROOF”, backed up by real evidence, just personal opinion. (This is not to say we don’t believe in the ability of some mediums, we actually have one as a member, we just feel that their findings should be compared alongside scientific data.) After a few investigations Bobby decided to leave that group so he started to research what would be involved in starting his own group. His standard was simple – to help the client by providing scientific proof to paranormal activity, or by using that same science to disprove any activity. In 2006 he founded P.R.O.O.F. Soon after, Bobby asked Chris to join the team and made him a Co-Founder. They went on many investigations together, and along with other members, found exactly what they were looking for– documented evidence of the paranormal. In 2009 Bobby decided to pursue other adventures and handed off P.R.O.O.F. to Chris. While Bobby is no longer with us, all his hard work is still recognized. Today, P.R.O.O.F. takes shape with new members and is stronger than ever. We strive to represent the excellence envisioned many years ago, when the group was still a dream.

Tibbie explains why the band switched directions with their previous drummer and how all fetishists are welcome - even their own bass player, who is a “furry”. Bobby inquires to what the women’s feet look like, and trying to feign his interest, deflects that he wants to gift Tibbie’s smelly socks to Bob for his upcoming birthday. While Bobby delivers the latest news about Blink 182, Bob delivers his thoughts about Matt Skiba and pre-pubescent 13-year old boys. Then, displaying a true lack of class, Bob busts on Bobby’s mom. While talking about an Israeli band in the news called Sweatshop Boys, Bobby asks if Bob has ever heard of Krav Maga, the self-defense system developed for the Israeli military. Bob reports that he could figure it out by watching YouTube videos, which is obviously where he gains most of his knowledge. Bobby wonders aloud why so many Swiss punk bands record/perform in English, to which Bob assures him that he could have an easy conversation with the natives. Bob is obviously ignorant to the fact that English is not one of the four national languages of Switzerland: German, French, Italian and Romansh. Talk turns to DAMN BROADS’ slick, new music video for their song “Nature of the Game”. Bobby mentions the juxtaposition of the broads’ red lipstick against the black and white images. Like a true cynic, Bob states: “People can do anything with their GoPros these days.”Bobby takes to heart the lyrics on a track by UK punkers Wonk Unit, promising to buy more band merch and music whenever he gets the chance. Conversation turns to “political season” - the recent rioting in Baltimore and the earthquakes in Nepal, then Bobby declares that there needs to be more positivity in the White House. Bob mentions a recent poll on dyingscene.com asking about the site’s new layout. What do you think of the new DS layout?Bob mutilates the name of one of the bands from this week’s playlist: Mutoid Man. After Bobby calls him out on the error, Bob amuses himself by saying the band’s name in different comedic voices. To close out the show, Against Me’s transgendered front-man-woman Laura Jane Grace plays an acoustic cover of “I Keep Forgetting” by Michael McDonald with a Cure loop sampled as the backbeat. This week on Episode 69 of Bobby Pickles' Podcast (Dying Scene Radio #14), Bob Noxious and Bobby Pickles speak with Tibbie X and Stephxecutioner of the Philadelphia, PA-based S&M punkers, GASH, via telephone from their new rehearsal space. Bobby admits to being glad the two didn’t have to talk to the guys in the band. SYNOPSIS OF BANTER: Bob declares himself a pirate and has the tattoo to prove it! Like a true cynic, Bob states: “People can do anything with their GoPros these days.” Bobby takes to heart the lyrics on a track by UK punkers Wonk Unit, promising to buy more band merch and music whenever he gets the chance. Conversation turns to “political season” - the recent rioting in Baltimore and the earthquakes in Nepal, then Bobby declares that there needs to be more positivity in the White House. Bob mentions a recent poll on dyingscene.com asking about the site’s new layout. What do you think of the new DS layout? Bob mutilates the name of one of the bands from this week’s playlist: Mutoid Man. Bobby wonders aloud how his/her feet might look.
