Check out the new episode - with special guest Ziggy Haim - right now, wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: New Japan) TWO New Japan wrestlers have tested positive for COVID-19. The company confirmed that late Tuesday night. It says those individuals are “mildly ill”. Their names are NOT being released. New Japan says other wrestlers and staff who were in contact with the individuals are being monitored...and tested. The COVID-19 concerns began just before the second Wrestling Dontaku show on Tuesday. That's when New Japan announced two wrestlers had developed fevers. New Japan canceled El Desperado's scheduled Junior Heavyweight Title defense against YOH. It also pulled a tag match where Kazuchika Okada & SHO were set to face Minoru Suzuki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Again, the names of the wrestlers who tested positive for COVID are NOT being released. We should also point out that the Wrestle Grand Slam show at Yokohama Stadium is 10 days away. Turning our attention back to the wrestling ring, Will Ospreay successfully defended his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, pinning Shingo Takagi in a nearly 45-minute main event on Tuesday. (STINGER: AEW) More than a year after AEW first announced “Blood & Guts”...the match will finally happen tonight on Dynamite. The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle will do battle under traditional “Wargames” rules. Also tonight, there's a 4-way tag team match for a shot at the Young Bucks' tag tiles - SCU vs. Jurassic Express vs. the Varsity Blondes vs. The Acclaimed. Kenny Omega & MT Nakazawa go up against Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston. Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall. Plus, Dr. Britt Baker in action...and Miro will appear. On last night's Dark...Dark Order's Evil Uno, Stu Grayson & Alex Reynolds beat the team of JD Drake, Cezar Bononi & Ryan Nemeth. (STINGER: WWE) Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell are the new NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. They dethroned Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon in a Street Fight last night. The show opened with Isaiah “SWERVE” Scott beating Leon Ruff in a Falls Count Anywhere match. SWERVE had some backup - a new faction that includes Ashante Adonis, Briana Brandy...and AJ Francis - who's been seen on WWE's Hidden Treasures show on A&E. Francis took out Ruff at the end of the match. The former Anthony Henry made his NXT debut under his new name, Asher Hale. He lost to Cameron Grimes. Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher beat the Grizzled Young Veterans. Thatcher submitted Zack Gibson after Thatcher got a hold of Wade Barrett's shoe and hit Gibson square in the head with it. An in-ring promo by Karrion Kross was interrupted first by Kyle O'Reilly...then Pete Dunne..and finally the returning Finn Balor. All four men brawled. That allowed Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory to attack Kross as well. Earlier, Theory said something he shouldn't have said in front of Scarlett...and he has a match against Kross next week. TWO title matches are also announced for next week. Raquel Gonzalez defending her NXT Women's Title against Mercedes Martinez...and Two Out Of Three Falls - Kushida putting his Cruiserweight Championship on the line against Santos Escobar. Former NCAA Division I wrestling champion Gable Stevenson is a hot prospect in pro wrestling. WWE is interested...but Stevenson says he has yet to put pen to paper. (Stevenson WWE Talks) Stevenson speaking with Lucha Libre Online. Major League Wrestling will run a show in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in September. CEO Court Bauer told the Dallas Morning News...MLW will follow local COVID-19 safety guidelines...but he expects them to run at “full capacity” in the 2,000+ seat NYTEX Sports Centre. Tonight's Fusion has Lio Rush defending the MLW Middleweight Title against the former champ Myron Reed. Plus, Laredo Kid vs. Gringo Loco. TWO new champions in Tokyo Joshi-Pro. On Tuesday's “Yes! Wonderland” show...Miyu Yamashita (ya-MAHSH-ta) won the Princess Of Princess Title...and Hikari Noa is the new International Princess Title holder. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, January 30, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us Results from Friday night's SmackDown, 205 Live and New Japan STRONG are straight ahead in this update… We told you this would be a big weekend, and Friday night set the pace. The biggest surprise came from a surprising place. (STINGER: New Japan) Jon Moxley is BACK - in the flesh - in New Japan. It happened at the end of last night's New Japan Strong. The 6-man tag team main event ended with Lio Rush pinning El Phantasmo. A big brawl followed. That's when the lights went out. When they came back, Jon Moxley was in the ring. He mowed down ELP, Hikuleo...and then hit KENTA with Death Rider. Mox said KENTA's long-standing right to challenge him for the IWGP U.S. title WILL be answered. No date for that match was announced. Mox did mention “Tokyo” at one point. Another possible destination is a “New Beginning USA” show that New Japan announced on Friday's show. We should also mention...New Japan is holding a major New Beginning show this morning. We'll have the results for you in our update tomorrow. (STINGER: WWE) The other big return Friday night - Braun Strowman. He roared out to the ring at the end of SmackDown - after a convoluted 10-man tag team main event that had evolved from a one-on-one match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles .. Strowman had been off WWE TV since last November. There are indications that WWE's plans for Sunday's Royal Rumble have changed. There was a new promo for Saturday night's WWE Backstage special during SmackDown. It promised the show will reveal the #1 & #2 entrant in the MEN'S Royal Rumble match. Later, it was announced that there will be match on Backstage between Natalya and Tamina for the #30 spot in the women's Rumble. That contradicts ads earlier this week that said Backstage would have the #30 entrant for the men and the #1 & #2 entrants for the women. That Backstage special airs tonight at 8PM on FS1. New Rumble entrants revealed Friday: Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio and King Corbin. Added to the names already listed on WWE.com and that's 20 names announced for the men's Rumble. Only 12 spots are spoken for in the women's Rumble. Also added to the Royal Rumble: Sasha Banks will defend her women's title against Carmella. One more note from Friday's SmackDown - Bianca Belair beat Bayley. The final first round match in the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic went down on Friday night's 205 Live. Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon beat Marina Shafir and NXT newcomer Zoey Stark. Moon submitted Stark. There was NO Eclipse. WWE made a title match for the next NXT TakeOver official on Friday. Io Shirai will defend her NXT women's title in a 3-way match against Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm. TakeOver is coming up on February 14th. Also Friday, WWE officially announced the signing of Meiko Satomura to NXT UK. A few other new signees also announced - a SON of William Regal, Bailey Matthews... Tony Gill, who was known as Gursinder Singh in Impact...and Metehan (met-ay-HAHN) Kocabasoglu who was formerly known as Lucky Kid. The Bella Twins say they're “definitely” coming out of retirement...eventually. (Bella Twins Return) That clip from Friday's episode of “The Ellen Show”. It feels like it's been a while since we could say this - but it's a big weekend on the indys. GCW's 24-Hour Fight Forever card rolls on today - wrapping up at 8PM. Don't forget to check out the match we're sponsoring - Ziggy Haim vs. Brooke Valentine. That's be happening during the block starting at Noon. Ohio Wrestling Alliance also has a NICE looking card tonight. “Good Trouble” is being headlined by Ring Of Honor's Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham vs. Major League Wrestling's Myron Reed. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, January 30. Our next update comes your way TOMORROW morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed.
