The Stiff Bois are joined by @fraserjapan to bring the joyous spirit of a night at the graps in Tokyo to the sacred WWS Stiff Draft format. The lads start the show by checking in with Fraser about his experience of Dontaku and how the home crowd is responding to the heroes of the new and old generation alike. Then it is Best of Super Junior Draft and Preview time. The Bois each work to assemble a team of Jnr's that they are keen to follow this tournament and, in the process, give insights into who you all should be paying attention to in the division this May.An incredibly fun experience to record, with some draft special flourishes, we hope the fun of current day nooj fandom translates to all our Stiffies out there. To join the Club or grab some merch to support the show.thestiff.club Or weworkstiff.comYou can find and follow the show:On X / twitter@weworkstiffOn Instagraminstagram.com/weworkstiff/On Redditreddit.com/r/WeWorkStiff/On Youtubeyoutube.com/@weworkstiffEmail us atweworkstiff@gmail.comPlease Listen. Steven Conway and Jeremy Finestone break down an eventful Wrestling Dontaku card and more in the latest edition of Speaking of Strong Style. Jeremy and Steven went through the Dontaku card match by match, talking about the results and angles. They discussed their belief that Yota Tsuji is a special talent, and why they think New Japan is onto something by pushing him right into the Dominion main event against IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA. They also talked about the other major matches, why David Finlay needed to look vicious against Tama Tonga, why El Phantasmo made good strides toward being a babyface, and where all this Jon Moxley-Shota Umino-Kazuchika Okada rivalry could be going (if Jeremy is right, it's something big). They covered Hikuleo's win over KENTA, why Zack Sabre Jr. and Jeff Cobb needed to work a 15-minute draw, and why Aussie Open's challenge for a three-way match at Dominion improved the card. The pair also previewed a busy first week in the Best of Super Juniors tournament and picked their favorites to be in contention for the semifinals. It's another packed show that will bring you all you need to know about New Japan!
Auflage des Best of the Super Juniors. Wir geben unsere Gedanken zum 16-tägigen Turnier und diskutieren, wer nach drei Siegen in Folge von Hiromu Takahashi dieses Jahr das Turnier gewinnen kann. Viel Spaß beim Hören!

Jeremy Finestone and Steven Conway are back with another episide of Speaking of Strong Style. Steven and Jeremy talked about the recent title matches in NJPW, how Kevin Knight was launched with KUSHIDA to junior heavyweight tag team gold, how Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls passed the torch to Aussie Open, how Hiromu Takahashi sold like a champ for a dramatic match against Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and how Taichi and Shingo Takagi put on a clinic in building drama in their KOPW match. Jeremy and Steven also talked Kazuchika Okada, and the rough waters ahead for the former champion. Will he turn on his partners at Dontaku? Or will one of them walk out on him? The pair looked at those possibilities in their preview of Dontaku, which included the big IWGP title match between SANADA and Hiromu, whether Davied Finlay should win the NEVER Openweight title, Zack Sabre Jr. versus Jeff Cobb for the TV title. They also looked ahead to Resurgence, and how Jon Moxley has been added to a show that already had Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi on the marquee, plus a tournament to establish yet another title. They also discussed why Willow Nightingale might be a better pick than Mercedes Mone for this belt. It's all you need to know about New Japan in one show!

Josh and Dave review and preview and event filled Wrestling Dontaku tour. By running through the Dontaku line-up, the wholesome Stiff Bois are able to break down the key match ups on the Road To so far, including Hiromu v Uncle Nobu, Jetsetters v Catch 2/2, Aussie Open v TMDK and Shingo v Taichi, plus, go in-depth in previewing the BOSJ participants and block line ups, before exploring the stories headed into the main Dontaku Card; with a special focus on Bullet Club drama and how Finlay can help NJPW find their way out from under the Clubs unwieldy shadow. There's a fair few predictions that could open the Bois up to some ridicule in this one, as the conspiracy booking makes way for some less solid predictions. With Dontaku well and truly explored, the lads finish with a discussion of Stardom's Grand Queendom event, discussing some key matches and players, as they go ‘gal' searching, only to then contemplate the impact of Mercedes run with IWGP belt and what her presence on Strong, and the development of a Strong women's division, signals for the future of all parties. A massive show that we hope will have you as excited as we all are to enjoy Wrestling Dontaku. Steven Conway and Jeremy Finestone are back with Speaking of Strong Style! The pair talked Mercedes Mone, including her excellent title match loss to Mayu Iwatani at All-Star Dream Queendom, her run of matches in a red-hot women's promotion, and her new deal with New Japan and STARDOM. They also kicked around possibilities for Mone at the Resurgence card in May and other matchups for Mone in the future. Jeremy and Steven also talked about the Road to Dontaku, including the new stipulation for the Shingo Takagi-Taichi King of Pro Wrestling title match, the mystery of Kazuchika Okada's tag team partners, and what the future holds for Boltin Oleg. They discussed Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI's upcoming All Japan appearance and some possiblities for more crossovers. They also previewed some upcoming title matches. All this, plus a look at Hirooki Goto's career on the 20th anniversary of his debut. Speaking of Strong Style is your best resource for being up to date on all things New Japan!
Matt & Ciaran are back talking all things NJPW. They run down the NJPW US Shows from Washington DC and Philly. Matt was at both shows live so he shares some of his stories and the experience. He also hates David Finley as the leader of the Bullet Club and the fans who cheered for Eddie Kingston to vanquish Jay White from New Japan, now want Jay White instead of David. We have a new IWGP Women's Champion, the boys talk some Stardom & share a bit of disappointment as they both thought the match was a little short and it was Ciaran's least favorite Mercedes match. They run down the Road to Dontaku matches and preview Wrestling Dontaku. Lots of speculation on who will be in the Best of the Super Juniors and who is the mystery man for team Okada. Jeremy Finestone and Steven Conway return with a new edition of Speaking of Strong Style! This week, they broke down the news and angles from two shows New Japan ran in the US, including Aussie Open adding Strong Tag Team gold to go with their IWGP titles, KENTA, Zack Sabre Jr. and Orange Cassidy making title defenses, and Clark Connors announced as the newest member of Bullet Club. The pair discussed how David Finlay is putting his own stamp and attitude on one of the most famous factions in wrestling, and why Juice Robinson's weekend plans had to be changed to fit them. Steven and Jeremy also discussed changes to the mask, capacity and cheering policies on New Japan shows. They also previewed upcoming events, including Hirooki Goto's Anniversary show, Mercedes Mone's IWGP Women's title defense against Mayu Iwantani at the biggest women's wrestling show in ages, and the upcoming Dontaku show. They even worked in a little Sakura Genesis history and shared some information on ticket prices, and New Japan is a downright reasonably-priced hobby. It's all here in one place for New Japan fans!

Steven Conway and Jeremy Finestone are back with the latest episode of Speaking of Strong Style! This week, they discussed the newsorthy Sakura Genesis show, including SANADA's win over Kazuchika Okada to capture the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, Aussie Open's victory over Bishamon to ascend to the top of the IWGP tag team scene, Zack Sabre Jr.'s win over Shota Umino, Hiromu Takahashi's Jr. Heavyweight title defense against Robbie Eagles and more. The pair talked about what the future holds for the various titleholders, as each came away from Sakura Genesis with new challengers. They also discussed what's next for Okada. Could it be a run at Strong Style's NEVER Openweight Six-Man titles, and possibly even a full-fledged heel turn? Jeremy and Steven looked at El Phantasmo's ejection from bullet club via shillelagh, and how David Finlay took aim at Tama Tonga's NEVER Openweight title while KENTA targeted Hikuleo. The pair also looked ahead to a wide variety of shows, including two events in the US this week, one of the biggest women's shows in decades featuring Mercedes Mone versus Mayu Iwatani, and the road to Dontaku 2023. It's a one-stop shop for all you need to be a top-level New Japan fan!
Welcome to the Squared Circle Podcast! I am your host Marie Shadows! I review, in full, NJPW Dominion. Dominion and Dontaku are the biggest shows for NJPW. Here is what I went over: All 10 matches. Having United Empire - Will Ospreay and Aussie Open with Aaron Henare - take the loss against FTR and Trent during AEW Rampage stopped any momentum heading to Forbidden Door June 26th. FTR claims to be “the best” tag team…well if they lost then they have something to prove. If someone keeps talking, they are the best and keeps winning, are they truly THE BEST TAG TEAM in the world without fault. The road shouldn't be straight without curve balls. It's tiresome. This conversation happened during the Jeff Cobb and Great-O-Khan vs Fale and Chase Owens for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. (21 mins in) Tama Tonga losing his NEVER Openweight Championship to Karl Anderson made no sense. We all know that heels do not elevate the NEVER division. Tama didn't even get started to elevate the NEVER division. I created a what-if story between Tama and Karl had Tama actually retained. This one bothered. (36 mins in) Do we really need Okada at Forbidden Door on June 26th? More wrestlers wanted to face Tanahashi more than Okada. Tanahashi is the main attraction for Forbidden Door. Jay White is not for the highly sensitive, in their feelings fans. Jay White calls things as is, speaks the truth with no lies at all, so just be aware. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: NJPW) Bullet Club dominated New Japan's Wrestling Dontaku show on Sunday…adding championships and a new member! We're going to run through this chronologically. First, Bullet Club's Bad Luck Fale & Chase Owens are the new IWGP Tag Team Champions. They pinned Hirooki Goto to win a 3-way over Goto & YOSHI-HASHI…and the former champs Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb. In the following match, Tama Tonga beat EVIL to win the NEVER Openweight Title. But right after the 3-count, Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows made a surprise appearance to beat up Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Jado. Next, Bullet Club's Taiji Ishimori beat El Desperado to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title. The semi-main event was up next: Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Tomohiro Ishii to win the vacant IWGP United States Championship. Chase Owens confronted Tanahashi after the match, setting him up for a blindside attack by a masked man - who revealed himself to be Juice Robinson, who is now part of Bullet Club. Robinson had said he would be leaving New Japan when his contract expired at the end of April. Juice is a LIAR!. Finally came the main event. Kazuchika Okada beat Tetsuya Naito to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. But just when it appeared the show-ending celebration was over, Jay White showed up - back in Japan for the first time in about a year. White and the rest of the refreshed Bullet Club lineup laid out Okada to close the show. Okada is now set to defend against White at Dominion on June 12th. Also announced for Dominion…Anderson will challenge Tama Tonga for the NEVER Title…and Owens & Fale will defend the tag titles against Cobb & Great-O-Khan. Shingo Takagi will defend the KOPW 2022 trophy against Taichi at Dominion. Taichi pinned Takagi with a Gedo Clutch to win a 6-man tag at Wrestling Dontaku. Other results from that show, Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato beat DOUKI & Yoshinobu Kanemaru to hold onto their junior tag titles. Hiromu Takahashi beat YOH. And Tanga Loa beat Yujiro Takahashi. Tokyo Sports reports Tetsuya Naito will undergo a second surgery to address double vision in his right eye. The first procedure was back in 2019 and Naito missed a few weeks of action. New Japan Sunday also announced the field for the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. It includes a number of foreigners and fresh faces for New Japan fans. They include AEW star and Ring of Honor Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta…Impact X-Division Champion Ace Austin…U.S. indie standout Alex Zayne…GLEAT's El Lindaman…New Japan newcomer Francesco Akira…Titan from CMLL...and a couple of regulars from New Japan Strong: Clark Connors and TJP. The tournament begins on Sunday, May 15th. TJP was on Saturday's New Japan Strong…and he took a loss to Mascara Dorada. Also on the show, Jay Lethal beat Ren Narita…and The DKC beat Kevin Knight. Brody King vs. Minoru Suzuki has been added to the Capital Collision show in Washington, D.C. on May 14th. (STINGER: WWE) Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns & SmackDown Tag Champs The Usos are being promoted for tonight's RAW. This follows a big change to the lineup for WrestleMania Backlash. The tag team championship unification match is no longer on the card. Instead, it'll be Reigns and The Usos vs. Drew McIntyre & the RAW Tag Champs RK-Bro. The change was made during last Friday's SmackDown. McIntyre came to the rescue of RK-Bro after they were attacked by Reigns & The Usos. WWE released TEN individuals associated with its NXT brand and Performance Center, including Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis, Draco Anthony, Harland, Malcolm Bivens, and Persia Pirotta. WWE's big show in Cardiff, Wales in the United Kingdom in September will be called “Clash At The Castle” (STINGER: AEW) AEW announced the early start time for this Friday's episode of Rampage - 5:30 PM Eastern. This is due to coverage of the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs on TNT. On last Friday's Rampage, Darby Allin qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament. He beat Swerve Strickland. Tonight's Dark: Elevation has DDT Pro's Konosuke Takeshita vs. Ring of Honor star Rhett Titus. Another former ROH star, Cheeseburger, will take on Tony Nese. The Young Bucks beat AAA Mega Champion Hijo Del Vikingo & Fenix in the main event. Vikingo took the pin. Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles. Back in Japan… Go Shiozaki is the new GHC Heavyweight Champion. He beat Kaito Kiyomiya to win the vacant title at Pro-Wrestling NOAH's show over the weekend. Shiozaki is now set to defend the GHC Title against Satoshi Kojima at the Cyber Fight Festival on June 12th. Also announced for the Cyber Fight Festival - Rob Van Dam. We're being reminded that we are far from done with COVID-19. The global pandemic is altering plans in multiple promotions. (STINGER: NJPW) Will Ospreay is among the latest to test positive for COVID. New Japan pulled Ospreay from Sunday's Wrestling Dontaku show. Ospreay was scheduled to battle Hiroshi Tanahashi for the vacant IWGP United States Championship. Tomohiro Ishii will now step into the title match. Tatsumi Fujinami is also off the Dontaku card after testing positive for COVID. In Pro-Wrestling NOAH, Kazuyuki Fujita has vacated the GHC Heavyweight Championship after he tested positive for COVID. Go Shiozaki will wrestle for the vacant title on NOAH's show on Saturday. His opponent has not been announced, but Kaito Kiyomiya challenged Shiozaki at a news conference on Wednesday. (STINGER: AEW) The main event is officially set for Double or Nothing. Hangman Page will defend the AEW Championship against CM Punk. The match was announced on last night's Dynamite. But Hangman was not there for it. He missed the show due to - you guessed it - COVID-19. Scorpio Sky is once again the TNT Champion. He took the title from Sammy Guevara in the main event of last night's Dynamite. Rey Fenix returned to AEW TV for the first time since a gruesome arm injury in January. He and the rest of Death Triangle staged a surprise attack on the House of Black. This is especially good news for fans looking forward to seeing Fenix in action Saturday…at AAA's Triplemania show in Monterrey, Mexico. Getting back to last night's Dynamite, Wardlow beat Lance Archer. MJF hinted at Wardlow's next opponent. (MJF Teases Morrissey) That clip from last night's Dynamite. In the battle of FTR, Dax Harwood pinned Cash Wheeler with a rollup to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament. Serena Deeb forced Hikaru Shida to submit to the Texas Cloverleaf in their Philly Street Fight. AEW Women's Champ Thunder Rosa was shown watching backstage. The Undisputed Elite - Adam Cole, reDRagon & the Young Bucks - complete with t-shirts for the newly minted group beat the Varsity Blonds, Dante Martin, Brock Anderson & Lee Johnson, who took the pin. The Blackpool Combat Club beat The Factory's Aaron Solo, Nick Comoroto & QT Marshall. The Jericho Appreciation Society laid out Santana, Ortiz & Eddie Kingston - including Chris Jericho throwing a fireball in Kingston's face. (STINGER: ROH) The undisputed Ring of Honor Women's Champion will be decided on next Wednesday's Dynamite. The current champion, Impact Wrestling's Deonna Purrazzo will face Mercedes Martinez, who won the interim title last month at Supercard of Honor. (STINGER: Impact) The Impact World Championship is on the line on tonight's episode. It's a Rebellion rematch, with Josh Alexander defending against Moose. Plus, Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans vs. Decay's Havok & Rosemary…Honor No More's Eddie Edwards, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett vs. Speedball Mike Bailey & The Motor City Machine Guns… Bhupinder Gujjar vs. VSK… The Briscoes will be on tonight's show. The IInspiration announced Wednesday they are stepping away from in-ring action indefinitely. There's an MLW Heavyweight Championship match on tonight's Fusion. It's the Intimidation Games main event - with Alex Hammerstone defending the gold in a 3-way against Jacob Fatu and THE BLACK HAND OF CONTRA Mads Krugger. Plus, Microman, Aramis, & KC Navarro vs. Arez, Mini Abismo Negro & Gino Medina (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK will feature a contract signing for next week's championship match between Ilja Dragunov and Jordan Devlin. Plus, Xia Brookside will be in action. Turning back to Japan, Stardom has a big show on Friday. The Cinderella Tournament winner will be crowned. The semifinals have MIRAI vs. Natsupoi and Koguma vs. Saya Iida. The winners meet in the final later in the show. Also on Friday's card: Syuri defends the World of Stardom Title against Himeka…and AZM defends the High Speed Title against Mei Suruga. ZERO1 announced an inter-promotional event on June 4th to raise funds for injured pro wrestling legend Shinjiro Ohtani. New Japan and NOAH will be part of it.. Check out the new episode - with special guest Ziggy Haim - right now, wherever you get your podcasts. (STINGER: New Japan) TWO New Japan wrestlers have tested positive for COVID-19. The company confirmed that late Tuesday night. It says those individuals are “mildly ill”. Their names are NOT being released. New Japan says other wrestlers and staff who were in contact with the individuals are being monitored...and tested. The COVID-19 concerns began just before the second Wrestling Dontaku show on Tuesday. That's when New Japan announced two wrestlers had developed fevers. New Japan canceled El Desperado's scheduled Junior Heavyweight Title defense against YOH. It also pulled a tag match where Kazuchika Okada & SHO were set to face Minoru Suzuki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Again, the names of the wrestlers who tested positive for COVID are NOT being released. We should also point out that the Wrestle Grand Slam show at Yokohama Stadium is 10 days away. Turning our attention back to the wrestling ring, Will Ospreay successfully defended his IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, pinning Shingo Takagi in a nearly 45-minute main event on Tuesday. (STINGER: AEW) More than a year after AEW first announced “Blood & Guts”...the match will finally happen tonight on Dynamite. The Inner Circle and The Pinnacle will do battle under traditional “Wargames” rules. Also tonight, there's a 4-way tag team match for a shot at the Young Bucks' tag tiles - SCU vs. Jurassic Express vs. the Varsity Blondes vs. The Acclaimed. Kenny Omega & MT Nakazawa go up against Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston. Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall. Plus, Dr. Britt Baker in action...and Miro will appear. On last night's Dark...Dark Order's Evil Uno, Stu Grayson & Alex Reynolds beat the team of JD Drake, Cezar Bononi & Ryan Nemeth. (STINGER: WWE) Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell are the new NXT Women's Tag Team Champions. They dethroned Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon in a Street Fight last night. The show opened with Isaiah “SWERVE” Scott beating Leon Ruff in a Falls Count Anywhere match. SWERVE had some backup - a new faction that includes Ashante Adonis, Briana Brandy...and AJ Francis - who's been seen on WWE's Hidden Treasures show on A&E. Francis took out Ruff at the end of the match. The former Anthony Henry made his NXT debut under his new name, Asher Hale. He lost to Cameron Grimes. Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher beat the Grizzled Young Veterans. Thatcher submitted Zack Gibson after Thatcher got a hold of Wade Barrett's shoe and hit Gibson square in the head with it. An in-ring promo by Karrion Kross was interrupted first by Kyle O'Reilly...then Pete Dunne..and finally the returning Finn Balor. All four men brawled. That allowed Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory to attack Kross as well. Earlier, Theory said something he shouldn't have said in front of Scarlett...and he has a match against Kross next week. TWO title matches are also announced for next week. Raquel Gonzalez defending her NXT Women's Title against Mercedes Martinez...and Two Out Of Three Falls - Kushida putting his Cruiserweight Championship on the line against Santos Escobar. Former NCAA Division I wrestling champion Gable Stevenson is a hot prospect in pro wrestling. WWE is interested...but Stevenson says he has yet to put pen to paper. (Stevenson WWE Talks) Stevenson speaking with Lucha Libre Online. Major League Wrestling will run a show in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in September. CEO Court Bauer told the Dallas Morning News...MLW will follow local COVID-19 safety guidelines...but he expects them to run at “full capacity” in the 2,000+ seat NYTEX Sports Centre. Tonight's Fusion has Lio Rush defending the MLW Middleweight Title against the former champ Myron Reed. Plus, Laredo Kid vs. Gringo Loco. TWO new champions in Tokyo Joshi-Pro. On Tuesday's “Yes! Wonderland” show...Miyu Yamashita (ya-MAHSH-ta) won the Princess Of Princess Title...and Hikari Noa is the new International Princess Title holder.
