New Japan is down to its final four! Jeremy and Steven discussed the journeys of Zack Sabre Jr., Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji and David Finlay as they prepare for the semifinals. This week, Steven and Jeremy discussed the G1 Climax tournament as it moves just past its halfway point. EVIL leads the field in the A Block, but the guys are skeptical that will continue. They discussed each participant in the tournament and their chances of advancing to the playoffs. They also wondered if Jake Lee will stay with the War Dogs, if Gabe Kidd will be turning babyface, and if Shota Umino is due for a late surge to take him to the knockout round with Zack Sabre Jr. They also looked at the logjam in B Block, and how matches involving David Finlay, Jeff Cobb, Konosuke Takeshita, Yota Tsuji and HENARE make for a fascinating home stretch for the tournament. They also wondered about Hirooki Goto's role as the "old guard" representative, and what the future holds for El Phantasmo.

Jeremy Finestone and Steven Conway looked at the 2023 World Tag League Finals and discussed New Japan's decision to make Bishamon into a Superteam. They discussed how Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI's win over El Phantasmo and Hikuleo is a signal the company wants to build the tag team division around its most consistent team and make it a Mount Everest for the rest of the teams to climb. They broke down the semifinals and finals shows, covering angles involving Ren Narita, Shota Umino, Minoru Suzuki, Yuji Nagata, Yuya Uemura, Yota Tsuji and more. The also kicked around ideas on what they could do with these angles as WrestleKingdom draws near. Jeremy and Steven also looked ahead to the Road to WrestleKingdom shows and looked back on the career of Osamu Kido and Tetsuya Naito's critical match with Kazuchika Okada at WrestleKingdom 8, and why it was so important to both his and New Japan's history. This week the lads return from a forced mini break due to Dave dealing with COVID, but, upon return Josh throws poor Dave straight into the deep end to comprehensively discuss the World Tag League Finals and all the consequential story beats. Topics include the Pirate life for LiJ, Yota and Yuya going from back to back to hair vs hair, Sanada v Naito show their characters, the Ren is Due for the House and what this means for the broken hearted Shota and the story of TMDK and War Dogs and the privileged weight of expectation. Then, finally, the Bois go into raptures and spend an obnoxious amount of time (basically the final hour if you want to jump straight to it) discussing the incredible Tag League final, the star making turn of El Phantasmo, the elevation of Hikuleo, and the brilliance of Bishamon.
