Welcome to the media ministry of Dakota Community Church.
Blessed are the people who recognize their inadequacies, their guilt, failure, helplessness, unworthiness, and emptiness haunts them and they grieve over their sin.
To be poor in spirit is to recognize your total and complete spiritual bankruptcy before God. It is knowing that you have nothing of worth to contribute to God.
Jesus said, "I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"
He [Jesus] is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance...
Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness…
Unless we remember that Justification precedes Sanctification and that both are the work of God in and for us - the Sermon on the Mount can leave believers feeling hopelessly discouraged.
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
When Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
Jesus went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.
The Son of God was a preacher! He appointed His twelve apostles to preach. The gospel is a proclamation to be preached.
How can a believer know that they are understanding the Bible correctly? How can we avoid falling into error or being fooled by the devils deceptions?
The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread."
Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.
Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Matthews account of the first advent includes the horrifying details of King Herod's massacre of the baby boys in and around Bethlehem. It is a fulfillment of prophecy. How are believers to handle difficult passages that reveal truths about God that we would rather not accept?
Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
For your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.
The Bible teaches the total depravity of the human race; that is, every aspect of our being has been corrupted by sin. Without the coming of the Light we would all remain lost in darkness and dead in our sins.
"I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth."
"His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent...
Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith.
Brothers,[and sisters] if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.
Thanksgiving does not flow from what we have or the things we do. Thanksgiving flows from knowing God and what He has done for us.
Most of us would prefer to conceal the more scandalous events and notorious people in our family trees, however, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Matthew does not show Jesus this curtesy - WHY NOT?
As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing...
Salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God for His glory alone.
Christ’s work is entirely sufficient - Nothing more needs to be done to secure our salvation
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
We are justified by faith in Christ alone, not by the works of the Law.
Why doesn’t God save everybody? Why does God insist that we forgive all who sin against us if He does not forgive all who sin against Him?
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. - Romans 3:23–25
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Sola scriptura means that Scripture alone is authoritative for the faith and practice of the Christian. The Bible is complete, authoritative, and true. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
The reformers did not invent a new faith they rediscovered Biblical Christianity.
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.
Is it okay for believers to imitate the apostolic method of finding Jesus in the Old Testament, or should we only use those references explicitly mentioned by the New Testament authors?
See the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him. Malachi 3:18
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.
Within the nation of disillusioned rebels there is a group of true worshipers who fear God and esteem His name.
The New Testament does not command a certain level of giving because the emphasis is now on loving willingness rather than constraint.
BIG Question: "Does the teaching on tithing in Malachi 3:9-10 apply to us today?"
If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.
But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap.
