Stating that Scripture, by the power and work of the Spirit, is the primary tool God uses in our evangelism, explaining how evangelism is a process and long term endeavor, highlighting how God uses His people to do the humanly impossible and sharing how our lives are to give credibility to our words.Concluding this conversation on a biblical note of encouragement, they tenderly challenge us to pray for healthy hearts that revere Christ as Lord and to always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that we have seen in 1 Peter 3:13-15. They wrap up by praying that by the grace of God, our private affections for Jesus would match our public expressions of faith and our public expressions of faith would match our private affections in Jesus Name. If you feel led to support this podcast, we humbly invite you to check us out at buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai For accessibility information, Q&A submissions or to get in touch, please email dialegomai@forthepeopleschurch.org For more information about For The PĒØPŁËŠ Church, please visit forthepeopleschurch.org! Instagram: @dialegomai @forthepeopleschurch @travisandkyraSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai)

On Season 1 Episode 18 of Dialégomai: The PĒØPŁËŠ Conversation, hosts Travis and Kyra Gold exegetically examine Mark 10:32-45.In Mark 10:36, Jesus asks His disciples, James and John “What do you want me to do for you?” and their response is both revealing and confronting. James and John had begun to subtly long that their ministry with Jesus would provide them a position of prominence and a platform for significance. How often do we do the same?Travis and Kyra discuss how sometimes we think we have earned something from Jesus because of our commitment and sacrifice to Him, slipping into entitlement, expecting Him to make our lives more comfortable, make our ministries more fruitful, and make our relationships less messy because we love and follow Him.They delve into the fact that our genuine love for Christ does not mean that everything we do, say or desire will be aligned with the cost and claims of following Christ. Explaining how our closeness to Jesus does not make us immune to impure desires. And how it is possible for disciples of Christ to desire prominence in ways no different than the world. Simply attaching Jesus‘s name to sinful desires does not change the fact that they are sinful. But Jesus, in His infinite goodness, hears our requests and lovingly responds in truth. They end on a biblical note of encouragement reminding us that it is God who appoints and prepares us for what He has called us to, in His Name for His glory. The King of kings humbled Himself to the point of death, giving His life in love for you. Therefore, leadership in His church isn't about self-exalting power and privilege but instead about service and sacrifice. Instagram: @dialegomai @forthepeopleschurch @travisandkyra Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai)

On Season 1 Episode 11 of Dialégomai: The PĒØPŁËŠ Conversation, hosts Travis and Kyra Gold host a Q&A episode about leadership and parenthood, candidly answering your questions from a Christ centered biblical perspective. In this honest and compelling Q&A conversation, they talk about the sovereignty of God, how our weakness actually points us to God's all sufficient power and how God is the only rock upon which we can build. They caution the listener about building on past experiences, saying when you build any theology, any doctrine, any mode for action out of reaction to sins committed against you or ones that you committed and not in response to Jesus and what He has said in His Word, it is going to be bad theology. They biblically unpack what it means to bear with the failings of the weak for their good, what it means that God is the God of all comfort, and how our children and the people we lead are made in the image of God for His glory not our own. Continuing with your questions they talk about not parenting your children out of your dysfunction or leading your churches out of past traumas you've experienced in the context of the church. But instead out of reverence for Christ and upon what He has revealed about leadership and parenthood in His Word. Encouraging the listener, they explain how paying attention to how God parents us and His character towards us as a parent, and how God leads us and His character towards us as a leader, should, by the grace of God and the power and work of His Spirit, spur us on to be parents that looks like Him and leaders that looks like Him.They discuss how to faithfully prioritize your spiritual disciplines by sharing how having many priorities is a fallacy by definition because you cannot have multiple things of the highest importance. They also delve into practical advice about routines and rhythms. They end on a note of biblical encouragement for leaders who may be tired or tempted to quit, encouraging them to consider Jesus and to be led and kept by His Spirit in all things. Reminding the listener of what it means to have childlike faith. Instagram: @dialegomai @forthepeopleschurch @travisandkyra Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai)

Taking pauses in Scripture for each day, Palm Sunday through Silent Saturday, to encourage daily meditation of His Word throughout the week to spur us on as we prepare our hearts to worship and praise Him and His victory over death on Resurrection Sunday.Prayerfully and biblically highlighting key moments that happen during this week, they also ask questions for personal reflection to aid in your study of the Scripture surrounding Holy Week with a heart that through this, the Lord might bring fresh revelation and illumination as to the significance of this week and help us, by the power and work of His Spirit, rediscover the beauty and awe-provoking intricacies of this week roughly 2000 years ago.In this episode, they briefly explain the prophetic importance of Palm Sunday, give introductory insight into Jesus' holy anger in flipping tables in the temple courts on Monday, share how on Tuesday, when Jesus' authority is questioned by the Pharisees, His response to them exposes their hypocrisy. Continuing in the week, they talk about Jesus' stillness on Wednesday at the house of Simon the Leper, receiving an expensive perfume preparation while His betrayal is finalized with payment. In honor of Maundy Thursday, they discuss the significance of the Last Supper at Passover before Jesus is arrested. Arriving at Good Friday, they expound some painful details of His death to magnify the awe-provoking, undeserved price that He paid. And lastly, on the eve of His resurrection, in the silence of Saturday, they share the irony of the hypocrisy of the Pharisees who feared Jesus would resurrect and asked Pilate to seal and guard the tomb to ensure He remains there. They end on a note of biblical encouragement to be planted in your local church for the celebration of Resurrection Sunday, as there is nothing like coming together in His Name as the living, breathing Body of Christ, He died to create. Celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, worshipping Him for His ultimate victory over death and His rescue of us. Time Markers for daily reflection:Day 1 | Palm Sunday - 4:38Day 2 | Monday - 10:20Day 3 | Tuesday - 14:21Day 4 | Wednesday - 25:03Day 5 | Maundy Thursday -29:16Day 6 | Good Friday - 35:05Day 7 | Saturday - 42:51If you feel led to support this podcast, we humbly invite you to check us out at buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai For accessibility information, Q&A submissions or to get in touch, please email dialegomai@forthepeopleschurch.org For more information about For The PĒØPŁËŠ Church, please visit forthepeopleschurch.org! Instagram: @dialegomai @forthepeopleschurch @travisandkyra Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai)

And discuss how this is great mercy on us because our deficiency points us to His ultimate and supreme sufficiency, humbling and refining us in ways we so desperately need. Biblically unpacking why true knowledge of God is so important in our passionate pursuit of Jesus, they explain how you can have zeal for God and still not be saved. Delving into Scripture, they talk about zeal as a mark of the Church and lovingly remind us of the gift that we have in the Bride of Christ, highlighting God's purpose for His Church in the expansion of His Kingdom. They explain how God, through the provision of His Spirit, uses our zeal for Him, His Word and His Church to guard our hearts against double mindedness and lukewarmness. Emphasizing the importance of knowing what God said about Himself for yourself, they lovingly remind us that we cannot call ourselves Christ followers and readily declare the promises of Scripture while willfully ignoring its warnings. Ending on a note of Spirit-filled biblical encouragement, they discuss how we should not confuse God's grace with His approval. All with the heart that we might be spurred on in our pursuit of Christ and ask God, boldly and with faith, for the zeal He has called us to have.If you feel led to support this podcast, we humbly invite you to check us out at buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai For accessibility information, Q&A submissions or to get in touch, please email dialegomai@forthepeopleschurch.org For more information about For The PĒØPŁËŠ Church, please visit forthepeopleschurch.org! Instagram: @dialegomai @forthepeopleschurch @travisandkyra Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/dialegomai)
