The desperately-needed conversation about parenting ft John Cuturilo

In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with John Cuturilo from the Your Listener Podcast about parenting. Raising children will always be perhaps the world's most important job, and it brings joy in to the lives of many. But it also brings with it great responsibilities, including self-regulation, discipline, patience, sacrifice, and empathy. While we may consider becoming a parent to be a natural progression for adults, too many ignore or are unaware of how easy it is to influence their children in undesirable ways that could have consequences for the rest of their adult lives. John and I discuss some of the most important (and sometimes most ignored) issues in the domain, includingthe need for personal responsibility, informed choice, and conscientiousness in helping children to develop in a psychologically and physically healthy manner.Find John Cuturilo at:https://yourlistener.wixsite.com/coachingFind his podcast on your favourite platform here:https://linktr.ee/your.listener.coachingFollow me on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/ebonyuamaki/?next=%2Frecoveringfrombelief%2FNote: no part of this content should be accepted as giving advice of any kind. Spirituality versus science: Are we so different? With John Cuturilo

Are spiritualists just hallucinating? Is living your life by science too rigid? And what exactly is manifesting, and does it have a place in scientific psychology? In this episode, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Life Coach, John Cuturilo. John and I travel out of our comfort zones in to daring intellectual territory. Society is becoming increasingly polarised and the slightest difference between people is treated as cause for major conflict. With Intuitive Reading being considered a spiritual practice by many, and John's practice being based in Western science, our respective philosophies often don't co-exist peacefully. But we demonstrate that having civil dialogue and exploring some of the most uncomfortable questions together isn't just possible, but a necessary part of a civil society.Find John's work at the following links:https://www.instagram.com/your.listener.coaching?igsh=MTZ0ank4cGM3eXFvZQ==https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyourlistener.wixsite.com%2Fcoaching&data=05%7C02%7C%7Ced20217881d540185fca08dcd6ddbe86%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C638621495110166857%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=Cj4UoOIllcY%2BFaHIa0QV8%2FH4LhUZJutIvSHz3xWAFGE%3D&reserved=0https://apac01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flinktr.ee%2Fyour.listener.coaching&data=05%7C02%7C%7Ced20217881d540185fca08dcd6ddbe86%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C638621495110174088%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=hIgX7Ofg2f1Xzqt4HZDdZ0aPfLmBRugB3ndeXBwnytc%3D&reserved=0

In this conversation, he courageously takes us through his childhood experience with complex trauma and early exposure to illicit drugs. He touches on the normalisation of substance use within his community and intergenerational cycles that continued. As complex and challenging as Tangaroa's experience has been. He has taken his cane and chosen to rise to the occasion and break those intergenerational cycles himself, celebrating almost 6 years of being clean off Methamphetamine. Whilst also providing a new perspective shifting the narrative from, you shall not have sex before marriage to emphasising the importance of consensual sex and feeling safe in your body and with your intimate partner.
