Takatsu is an award-winning writer of contemporary literary fiction, featured Wattpad author, and kickstarter of the Literary Fiction Network. He pioneered the Japanese “cell phone novel” phenomenon in the English-speaking world, marking a moment in history of a new online literary movement among thousands of young writers and readers globally. The remarkably unique serialized fusion of simple haiku-like poetic technique, visual text flow, multimedia and micro-prose storytelling has re-envisioned technology, youth culture, community and literature. The published print book of the coming-of-age story, “Secondhand Memories”, was released for fans internationally in 2015. His more recent work includes “Move”, (2013, CPN, Textnovel) a sentimental journey of a struggling musician, and his flagship landmark novel, “Espresso Love” (2014), a dystopian magical-realistic literary fiction journey of spiritual awakening, which satirizes and examines human nature, subjective perception, socio-political systems, digital landscape, capitalist mechanism and consumer culture. It won the Watty’s Award 2014, reached #1 in Science-Fiction, and surpassed a readership of 800,000 in eight months.
