The Katherine Massey Book Club @ The C.O.W.S. hosts the 6th and final study session on Kenneth Wooden's The Children of Jonestown. Wooden was a journalist at the time of the Guyana genocide and wrote extensively about the mass murder during 1978 and 1979. Like Meiers, Wooden is classified as a White Man. Having immersed ourselves into the life and times of the Rev. Jim Jones, we'll seek better answers about how "father" was able to acquire and kill nearly 300 children - most of them classified as black. Last week, Wooden again implied that Jim Jones was trained and mentored by privileged black male Father Divine. He details how Tim Carter, a White temple member, supplied Jones was critical information while in South America. Importantly, Carter was able to fly from San Francisco to Guyana. Most of the black church members were tricked and sequestered on cramped, jalopy buses that trekked from California to Florida, then they boarded a ship like slaves. Many black children and older people, like Dee Dee Smith, were literally bound, drugged and kidnapped to a foreign continent where they were killed. Wooden again descried the black people in Jonestown being treated like "slaves" - which is widespread in reports on the Peoples Temple. When detailing the security at Jonestown, Wooden detailed the firearms and crossbows that were found. Gus asked how many C.O.W.S. listeners would have the skill to use a crossbow to shoot a person. There were Vietnam veterans in the Peoples Temple and Jones' staff. #BlackBabiesCostLess #TheCOWS15Years INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE: 564943#

Tim Carter sees God everywhere, even in the most difficult of times, reminding us that God is present in all moments of life. "I will let God give to me his all as I hear his call." Tim Carter is a Christian poet and author. He has written two books of Christian poetry, "God's Rhyme: Expressions of Faith" and "Living in God's Rhyme." This is Tim Carter's story... Tim Carter sees God in the good and bad moments of life. He sees God in the smiles of strangers, in the birth of new life, and even in death. He is reminded that God is present everywhere, even in the most difficult of times.. In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. The power of rhyme in communicating and connecting with God 2. The importance of being aware of one's own judgmental tendencies and working to overcome them 3. The ways that God shows himself to us in everyday life, both in the good and the bad Resources: [Insert any lead magnet/CTA links from Guest here]  Chapter Summaries: 1) Tim is Tim's brother Dave's brother tim is Tim and Dave is Dave tim doesn't like to hear himself talk on the podcast, so he changed the name of the podcast to Living in the rhyme from Living in Grief's rhyming. 2) Tim and Dave are going to read and discuss some poems that have encouraged them as they have lived them. The first poem is called Trust to Be Led. The second one is called. I removed the log from my eye and I will forgive as I live. Recently, Dave has found that he is becoming a worse driver. There was a glass house on the lake shore between Marysville and St. Clair, Michigan. Dave used to throw stones at people. He used to do that too. But now he's aware of it less and less. He thinks it helps us to be aware of things, so we're less likely to do them. 3) This week especially for some reason, I feel his grasp has been a little bit tighter. I find myself asking for forgiveness more often, but I also find myself not doing as many things that I think I need to ask for forgiveness for. Believing and being around and being with Jesus is fun. 4) All right. That was a good discussion. There was some good thoughts and questions. 5) The rhymes are what got me started. I had to give up a few stances because I could not find a Rhyming word that made sense. I kind of liked where I was going, but because I started rhymes, I knew I needed to finish. 6) The first two poems are Christian poetry that aren't published. The second poem is found on page 31, and it's called Your Love. Jesus' love is perfect more than man. Jesus is a loving and righteous deity. He loves people lovingly even when they do wrong things in their lives. 7) Tim was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009. He was treated with radiation in the hospital for three days and 25 low dose radiation treatments. After that. The hospital where he had his treatment at was 45 miles away from home, but they took him there at 7:30 instead of 800. Tim was able to get back to work by 8:30. 8) As his faith expanded through church and through reading. He wants to read more of the Old Testament as it gives him more of a desire to read the Bible. He is not a Bible expert, but he has been in groups with discussion about the Old and New Testament. 9) Tim and Jesus are running a race two weeks in a row. They were talking about the director of their show earlier. Tim and the director got together this weekend and they can't wait to be with Jesus next week. They are going to do a podcast called Preparation. Dave is in Florida. Paul and Tim are in Michigan. Dave is thankful they are there. Dave has been to the hospital before. Dave and Tim have been hospitalized recently. Tim and Dave will talk about this in the show notes. They will also talk about Tim's and Dave's relationship with Jesus. 10) Dave and Dave pray for their listeners and viewers. They pray for the nation of Ukraine and its people. They also pray for those who have not yet...

Short Discussion of our impressions from the first half of the interview: INTERVIEW: Discussion on second half of interview: Two poems inspired by Gwen's drawings.  Both are from Living In God's Rhyme. THE REFLECTION (pg. 197) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and beauty is what is beholden. God saw the beauty of Mary, a beauty of motherhood for his Son, And he saw the beauty of his Son,  in the sacrifice for those he loved. That beauty God shares with the girl as she walks through this world. As she gazes at the reflection she sees the love God has for her. It is this love that she sees taking her hands and guiding her through her life. It is a love of trust, something she must receive and give in the life she lives. What reflection do you see when looking in the mirror?    A SOLDIER FOR THE LORD (pg. 191) There is more than the battle to be won There is more that we are here for. If we are to follow God's Son We do not fight as if it's a war. No, our mission is to share his love. If we love God, we are commanded to love others. Maybe the battle rages within us. If we are one with Jesus, The battle has been won. We are raised with his Son. If God is in us, his love we must share. Through our sharing we show we care, Not just for others, but for the Father Who loves us in spite of ourselves. We must show the love in our heart, Love that is for all to see. As the sun rises our days start. Is love what our day will be? Love will overcome hate. If we do not show His love, What will be the fate Of those we overlook? A soldier, marching forward, Sharing God's loving word, Showing his saving grace To a stranger's face. 33, 4-3 SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHTS, GWEN ALLEN INTERVIEW (12/3/2021)  Revised 11/30/21                                                                                            Today we are interviewing Gwen Allen.  Gwen is the young woman whose drawings inspired the poems in the last chapter of Living in God's Rhyme. PRE-INTERVIEW DSCUSSION INTERVIEW Poem read during interview (Living In God's Rhyme, pg. 197, ©2018 by Tim Carter) POST-INTERVIEW DISCUSSION Here are a couple of more poems inspired by Gwen's drawings. PROTECTED FOREVER AND EVER, pg. 199 The rain falls from the sky. Some days we wonder why No matter how we try We cannot help but cry. Yes, the world rains down With trials and tribulations, As we are thinking we may drown In the sorrows of temptation. Let us not worry and fret. A prayer has been said, The way He has led, The path He has set. Before the cross came a prayer. “While I have been with them, I protected them and kept the safe by that name you gave me.”  (John 17:12, NIV) Then He died for our sins Knowing we would stray. The rain would pour down, Our faith washed away. Even in those moments, if we do believe, Because of His love we need never grieve. Through His death and resurrection We have eternal His protection. Yes, even those moments We lose sight of our faith's face, By the words of our faith  We are saved by God's grace. Believe, Accept, Profess Jesus, the King whose reign Protects us in our weakness. Our faith may fail, But He never will. WHICH EVER WAY THE WIND WILL BLOW, pg. 207 A storm, a boat, the disciples with Jesus . . .  He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet!  Be Still!”  Then the wind died down And it was completely calm. (Mark 4:39. NIV) When there is a gentle breeze Then we find a life of ease, But when the wind will blow Does our spirit sink low? It is at those times When facing life's storms, With the wind at our face As we run our life's race, We feel tattered and torn, We lose track of His rhyme. It in these times of trial We must remember our faith. When the acrid taste of bile Rises we must remember our place. God is on our side, So we never need to hide. We have His gentle breath On which we can rest. The Holy Spirit moves  As a gentle breeze, Calming the winds, Restoring our faith. It is the breath of God, It is His Word at creation That calms the storms Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. We just have to believe. Ask, pray and we shall receive. With God we can weather the storm. 29, 3-9 - SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHTS, 11/5/2021 Three more poems from Living In God's Rhyme (© 2017 by Tim Carter).  Thoughts about letting God into my life and the transformation that happens.  That transformation is available to all of us. First poem can be found on page 147 DO NOT LET ME SIT I sit with pen in hand because it is too hard to stand. I sit in the chair looking up in the air. I think that I know, but is it really so? And I realize that for thoughts to materialize Praying to you is what I must do. Lord, I love you, I really do. I do not wish, but hope instead That I can pray and clear my head So that today all I desire is you. I am what I am, I do not like to hear, For that to be true, I must abandon you. I am what I am, that I greatly fear, If that is so, then I have not been made anew. My prayer, Lord, is that I let you be  Who you are, so that what you see in me Is more that I am alone, but all that I am with you. It is only by your grace that with me you are not through. And as I place my trust in you I see each line is longer As my faith, my love, my hope in you, Lord, gets stronger. Lord, with you I know there is no danger That one day we may become strangers. Lord, Help me to pray every day, To read your word and know what I have heard. Help me to spread your good news to more than a few, To more than those sitting in the pew not knowing what to do. Lead me to those, the ones you chose To hear of you and all that you have done. May every day be the beginning  Of showing others that winning In life need not be full of stress, Not when you, Lord, are here to bless.  Thank you, Lord, that these words  That rhyme have a reason. That the thoughts that are written Will always be in season. For it is with you, Father, that our lives are full, That when we care, it is you that we share. From page 149 WHOSE WORDS And this is my prayer; that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,  so that you may be able to discern what is best  and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes  Jesus Christ – to the glory and praise of God. Phil 1:9,10   Whose words do we seek  As we hear others speak? Are they the words of truth That in us will bear fruit? As believers do we know God's word Or do we only know what we have heard? Do we ever make the time to know What God's word says so we may grow? Do we have the desire to understand Where it is God wants us to stand? Do we search his word, do we make the time to study So that when someone speaks we are not just putty? Do we know when the words are from God and not from man? To understand your word we must have a yearning To listen to others and not overlook our own learning. Through prayer and reflection in our time alone With you, Father, we will mature in our love for the cornerstone. The cornerstone of your church, of our faith, your Son Jesus, Is fully known as we seek in your word how you see us. We must read so we know the truth when we hear it And know what is not from you so we may not be near it. You, Lord, love us every day So every day we must pray  That as we read we know what you say About the truth of your grace and your way. Thank you, Lord, for what you do, Help us to be more than just a few, Help us to know and spread your word So others cannot say they never heard. The last on is found on page 152 I HAVE NOTHING I have nothing to add to the word of God. I have nothing to add to his love for me. I have nothing to offer to make me worthy. I have nothing to add to God's rhymes. That is true, but . . .  I can believe in His word. I can accept his love for me. I can accept that through Jesus I am worthy. I can become one of

28, 3-8 – SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHTS, TERRI HILL INTERVIEW Today we are interviewing Terri Hill.  I met Terri at an event for Martha's House this summer.  After asking Martha about an interview, something led me to ask Terri.  She is the founder of Executive Document Productions.  Her resume encompasses so much more than that as I found out talking with Terri at another Martha's House event.  It's amazing what you can find out over dinner. I did ask her if she would look through the three books and find three poems she liked so they could be read before and after the interview.  I'll read 2 short ones now.  This one surprised me and yet it didn't.   From God Still Rhymes (© 2018, by Tim Carter), pg. 25 This one surprised me and yet it didn't.   FIRST VALENTINE (written in 1973) love is a valentine and you are mine all of life starts when you give your heart to shine as the sun on that special someone and all that you are is what you share being sure always to care for the ev'ning star all your giving is what I am living you have given your gift giving my spirits a lift giving yourself to my keeping not knowing the weeping of a broken valentine we haven't the time for it is filled with happiness everything from our togetherness love is a valentine and you are mine From God Still Rhymes (© 2018, by Tim Carter), pg. 130 WHO AM I? Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say I am”? Who did they think he was? And in times of doubt I ask myself, “Who do I think I am?” At these times in my life I know I must reply, I am reborn, I am saved, I am forgiven, I am redeemed, I am made holy in his sight, I am blessed, I am loved, I am a child of God! And there, without words,  Is the rhyme of who I am, I am one with God! Forever in his sight I am now made right. Though I may stumble and fall, My name he will always call, Always and forever, He will leave me never. Yes, I am a child of God. That is who he says I am. INTERVIEW Let's finish with her third choice.  This is from Living In God's Rhyme (© 2017, by Tim Carter), pg. 72 And one we did last week. THE HEALING OF FORGIVENESS “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling  and slander, along with every form of malice.   Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”  Eph. 4:30,31 What needs to be said about this verse? Though some words may sound terse, They are covered in the blood Jesus shed for those he loved. He has loved And still does. Though we have sinned He has sent a mighty wind To lift his people up As we drink from his cup. We are hurt in so many ways, Slander, malice, anger and rage. We are left alone, left defeated. That's what we do to those God loves. Sometimes we are they, the other one, To whom the harm and hurt is done. We all keep a running total, we tally the sum Of each and every day they block out the Son. We are told to forgive throughout God's word, Told enough that we should have heard, If with God we live We are called to forgive. If God can forgive, so must we. It is by his forgiving of our sin That over death we do win. Why is it so hard for us to see? God loves so much that he died. Died in the form of his Son For the times we lied, For all we have done. A death we deserved,  A death we did earn, But now as we turn Our place is reserved. Jesus died once for all, For all who hear his call, The call of God's holy grace That one day we may see his face. We are but mere mortal man. How can our sin against another Be greater than our sin  Against he who created man? We are commanded to...

25, Season Episode 5 - SHOW NOTES & COPYRIGHTS (10/8/21)   I would like to apologize for a mistake I made in last week's podcast.  When talking about David and the Psalms, I said he earned his salvation.  The did not earn it, he prayed to live in God's salvation.  It is only by God's grace we find salvation.  Forgive me for my mis-statement. Again this week I m not sure where this one is going.  4 poems from Living In God's Rhyme (©2017 by Tim Carter).  Again the common thread is God and Jesus.  That is  more than good enough.  We'll just follow the Spirit where He leads. From Living In God's Rhyme, pg. 29 MONDAY MORNING THE NIGHT BEFORE There is nothing to say Nothing new in any way Except the thunder I hear Slowly as it moves near   There is one difference I have noticed Since putting letters together that form the words Well now two I have misplaced the punctuation And one line is too long   But through it all, On this day I still hear His voice, his call. He is still, as always, here.   Always and forever Includes tomorrow, Knowing the he will never Leave me in my sorrow.   Another day to be in his presence Another hour to be thankful That through his grace my penance, He has taken from me, it is paid in full.   So, I will awake in the morning, To the rising Son. There will be no mourning, The battle he has won.   The only fear I will know Is the awesome reverence That by his holiness I must show To God for taking my repentance.   Monday morning's prayer is That all my desires Are that I live wanting what is his, His love for me is all I desire. On pg. 34 THE RHYME OF GOD, THE RHYME OF ME   There may be no rhymes As in other times. But it is not that the Lord Has struck a lost chord. (if he did it would be sung as every church bell was rung) His rhyme is his word, The scriptures we read Through which he plants the seed, With hope that we have heard.   It is through his grace That we see his face In those we meet And those we greet.   If we believe, In us lives his rhyme Forever in time. He will not deceive.   Then I decided to write About something right, But got it wrong Because it was me, Me, just me, alone.   I can wander in this world, Oblivious to all that is good. I can try by myself To lift myself up, Up above the  Hustle without The bustle, And fail  Because the bustle Of this world Is the hustle That tells me All I see Is all I need.   Then I awake from what I hope was a dream, Hoping that all is not what it seemed. I look in the mirror and see The reflection of what I used to be.   What I used to be before My Savior redeemed me, Made me righteous in his eyes, The eyes of his Father in Heaven above. Every moment of every day I felt his love. A love for me and those who surround My life, who have oft times run aground.   I pray that what I dream Is never real. I pray that what may seem Somewhat surreal Is nothing more than a bad dream From a bad movie scene.   As I live I pray that temptation I turn over to my Savior Who has conquered my sin No matter where I've been.   When I turn my back I lose my sight Of what is wrong And who is right.   May I focus my eyes, The eyes of my soul, So that to my sin I die. He has mended the hole.   Reflection on The Rhyme of God, the Rhyme of Me Someone once asked me at a book signing where the name God's Rhyme came from for the first book. From Him I said, He is the Rhyme. Later I realized that I also had a poem in the book with that title. What a memory! On pg. 47 HAVE WE SEEN, HAVE WE HEARD, ARE WE HEALED “Though seeing, they do not see,     though hearing they do not hear or...

THOUGHTS FROM TALKING WTH MARTHA Yesterday and today Women of faith May lead the race We in this world run Beyond the setting sun A safe place A friendly face A time to share A time for prayer Receiving encouragement Overcoming discouragement Gospel words are said And their souls are fed The times they gather They share together Who they are Who they will be And with Jesus they will see Heaven beyond the morning star 7/22/2021, tcarter I see Martha in Matthew 7:13 “When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don't cry.”  I think he has done tis many times for Martha.  Jesus said these words, “don't cry,” to a woman who was a widow and was burying he only son.  Her son was the one left to care for her and her needs.   I'm sure that Martha has heard these words before and her faith has given her many, many blessings also. I think Matthew 22:37 is a perfect for Martha's House & Martha herself. “Love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” One last poem about Martha's House: FOR MARTHA'S HOUSE Time to share with those who care, Mothers and others in need of rest From the demands of the day. There is a place where they can pray, Not just alone, but with another Who is in need of being around. Then sisters will hear the sound From Heaven above and feel the love Of the almighty God in the love of others. Time to rest, No longer distressed,  The support of sisters, The healing of love. A hand to hold, Arms to hug,  The support of sisters, The healing of love. 9/12/2021, tcarter That dear friends is what I see. Ep 14 - "Ask the Builder" - Tim Carter Interview, featuring comments and thoughts of "Coach Gary" Micheloni, Dave Ramsey & Mike Rowe Podcast Episode 14 – “Ask the Builder” – Tim CarterHave you ever asked the question: What would it take for me to develop a side hustle or go into a business for myself? Is that crazy—or something I should even attempt? Can I take my skills and do something further with them? Well…we're going to try and answer that for you today, with the help of my very special guest.Anybody remember back to a time when you could take a shop class in school? My high school had a department called Industrial Arts. You could learn automotive skills, metal and woodworking, photography, electrical, leather carving, mechanical drafting, jewelry making, home economics…and so on. We learned things that became useful, lifelong skills. Today…not so much! The teachers and classes have disappeared from being a part of the school day, and eventually, from importance to today's generations. Kids are being taught that a college education is paramount, and you should get one, even if the costs of it puts you into debt for 10 to 20 years.Have the skilled trades been rejected by the kids and young adults of today, and been replaced with career thoughts of video game creation and computer programming? Maybe. That's not so good…at least in my opinion. To fix it,   all of us really should pay attention to the next several minutes of this podcast because these things affect your life, the well-being of your companies, communities,  and families. One of my favorite radio personalities , Dave Ramsey, tongue-in-cheek--often speaks of such degrees as German Polka History—implying that there are virtually no jobs to go along with those degrees. He's right! Debt stacks up. And for what purpose?Another of my favorite radio/TV/podcast personalities is Mike Rowe, the star of the old—and NEW--series, “Dirty Jobs”, and the voice of shows like “Deadliest Catch”. Mike is a big proponent on the value of the skilled trades. In fact, he puts his money where his mouth is, with the Mike Rowe Works Foundation, offering training scholarships for blue collar jobs like welding to  automotive…to   you name it. This year he is awarding over one million dollars in scholarships to … WAIT FOR IT… trade schools! A kid can learn an extremely, well-paying skill in a short amount of time—no college debt. Never get laid off.  Mike's biggest challenge is finding students willing to get their hands dirty and put in an honest day of hard work. The reason for this explanation of mine has everything to do with why I am so excited to have on the show today Tim Carter. For many years, Tim had the call-in radio show,  ASK THE BUILDER! And this has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOU! Here's why:People…homeowners…would call Tim and ask him how to do certain remodeling tasks  and  jobs  around the house. Why did they call Tim? Because they have failed to learn those skills earlier in their lives, such as in school. There is a market out there for installing those improvements, repairing broken irrigation systems, mending fences; generally creating--and completing for pay-- those projects wanted by people unskilled in the physical trades.I asked Tim if he might speak about the demand and the markets and types of projects homeowners have asked him about, or asked him to perform for them.Seems like almost every guy I know in the trades has either thought about doing side work, or is doing side work, or is thinking about starting a business for himself. Tim is just the guy who can shed some light on this.Hey, everybody, “Coach Gary” here. Thanks for indulging me in my rant. Fortunately,  I have a guest today you've just got to meet…and I believe he can help guide us through the problems mentioned in that rant, and talk about solutions.Tim grew up with the trades. Was a master plumber, a general contractor, specialized in ultra-custom remodeling. He flipped houses before “Flip this House” was even cool! He knows an awful lot about the market many would-be handymen or contractors are considering. Enough talk on my part. JOHN BOLDT INTERVIEW I first met John in August of 1972 during job interview at Bol-Mac Engineering. Started working there in September.  I as hired because of where I went to college, but because of my major – philosophy. WHERE IS JUDI ?    Chapter 1 A regular date. Dinner for eight, A prayer of grace As hands embrace, Conversations And revelations Of the days before. They opened the door To wonder and awe, There were eight in all.   Chapter 2 As usual he made Reservations for eight, When the sun would fade. They were  never late. Dinner with friends, Friends forever, Beyond the end, Ending never.   Chapter 3 Then one day it all changed, Thoughts, emotions rearranged. Eight had become seven As one entered Heaven.   Memories are real Until we place the seal, As we no longer deal  With a dinner meal.   But with faith Once eight did face Their sorrow  Of tomorrow.   Chapter 4 Dinner reservations for eight, Not noticing til all were seated The empty chair. Wondering just where . . .  No, they knew why, With tears in their eyes As they sensed a light Her spirit shown bright.   Another tomorrow comes As sorrow becomes Peace in their knowing Love she is still sowing.   What had been normal, Pizza sliced for eight, A slice on each plate But one still in the box.   Through these times Where were the rhymes And the question, Where is Judi And her beauty? It became time for reflection.   The Final Chapter Where is Judi ? She is in Heaven at the table For  more than eight, The number uncountable. And heaven will wait For the missing seven.   Take this bread,  It is  my body Given up for you. Drink of this cup, My blood Shed for you. The Lord's supper  Brings us together Today and forever With the God of creation And the Son of Salvation.   One day There will be No more days. We have been set free. Forever fed, By Jesus led, Finding tomorrow Without the sorrow.   Their Chapter Where is Judi ? She is in heaven And in their hearts, Their thoughts, Their tears and Their smiles. She is here, there She is everywhere They want to take her.   11/23/18 Tim Carter The links for the organizations that John talked about are below https://loveachild.com https://emiworld.org https://camp-arcadia.com Follow is on our website https://livingingodsrhyme.com   You can buy Tim's books at the following websites https://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/god%20rhyme%20tim%20carter (god rhyme tim carter | Barnes & Noble® (barnesandnoble.com)) https://www.amazon.com/s?k=God%27s+Rhyme+tim+Carter&ref=nb_sb_noss (Amazon.com : God's Rhyme tim Carter) Please follow us on Facebook and Like us https://www.facebook.com/Godstillrhymes ((6) Tim Carter, God Still Rhymes | Facebook)   You can hear us on Apple Podcast, Google Play, Pandora, Stitcher, IHeart radio, Tunedin Radio. and all the other podcast sites.  Please subscribe to the podcast Tell all your friends about us and have them tell thier friends, Thank you for being here, we are blessed that you listened. HIS WORD MAY IT LEAD US   Matthew, Mark Luke and John, Paul, Peter, Timothy and Jude, Books and letters written  To show us the way to God's love, The love of his sacrifice, The love of his grace, The love he has for us, The human race.   Jesus said, Believe, Be baptized And spread the Gospel.   We should not only pray, Pray every day, For those who have not heard His mighty saving word. We should speak So that we reach Those souls we know Of the gift we have received So they will not be deceived. We need to shout To the world about That Jesus saves, He is what God gave So the end will be better, So it will not be bitter.   After Thoughts As believers we can meet in clusters So that faith and desire we can muster That as we leave the room We do not have a sense of doom But the faith to share, Share that we care, That others hear What we hold dear To our hearts So they may start To see what they can be That when with Jesus They will be free. © 2018, Living in God's Rhyme, Tim Carter    PODCAST 5   THE LOVE GOD GIVES   On his head thorns for a crown, The thorns of my transgression. Because he loved me I bow down And profess to him my confession.   An all knowing God who created all we know, Knowing the good and bad seeds we would sow Still breathed into each one of us life, Knowing that he one day pay would the price.   I wonder as I write these stanzas of words Why, if he knew we would become a herd Of wandering sheep, His word he still keeps.   Though he knew our sin, our wandering ways His love never wanders, the same it stays. Yes, he is a just God who will punish The unrepentant who refuse to believe.   But his love is always there When we are ready to share, To share in his reign, That removes our shame.   He is a just God, A righteous God, He is a God of love, He is a God of glory.   The Holy love of God  Forgives, it gives Hope and blessing, Joy in our sadness, It lifts us up As we share the cup, The blood of his covenant With the lost remnant.   From us he deserves Our constant praise As he preserves Our living days.   And sometimes I wonder Why he gave us free will Knowing we would wander, Knowing he would love us still.   His ways are not our ways. Thankfully we should pray A prayer of thanksgiving That with him we are living.   Knowing all, who would hear his call, He prepared for those who believe That he alone is Holy in Glory, A promise at the end of the story.   It is a story of his love, The pain of his love, The magnitude of his love, The forgiveness of his love, And the hope of his love.   He sent Jesus to deliver the message, To pay the price to make us right, To show the way, to open the door That we may forever live in his sight.   Thank you, Lord For your love for me, Your love for my neighbor. Thank you, Lord, Thank you for eternity. © 2018, Living in God's Rhyme, Tim Carter HIS EMBRACE   His arms are open to those whose lives are broken. That is you, it is me, it is everyone we see.   He died that we might be made right in his sight.   By death our sins he overcame so we can be the same, we can share his reign.   Through resurrection so we may be risen, released from our prison, new life he has given.   Our lives were broken, faith but a token, a gesture, not a true sacrifice to forgive the sins of our life.   Through love He stretched out his arms, delivered us from harm and died.   He died for us, God's son Jesus. His life he did give that sinners might live.   And he reaches out that we might believe, no longer in doubt and no longer deceived.   Through truth we have been set free so that all can see the Christmas story in its final...

Today's guest is an executive with a big job to do. The broad market turn, driving improved performance, tidying up back years and dealing Covid-19 are enough for most executives, but on top of all that this new leader's company has had the fallout from an acrimonious public dispute with an activist investor to deal with. As part of Argo Group's new management team, Chief Underwriting Officer Tim Carter has a lot on his plate. Yet he is unfazed. In this encounter I found someone really calm, easygoing, and infectiously optimistic. He's also a rare combination – an actuary who is an excellent communicator and someone who comes across as a strong people person. The next 20 minutes should leave you in little doubt that Argo is going to re-focus on its core niches in specialty where it can produce the best growth and underwriting results. Charlie Hebdo, the satirical French magazine, was attacked in January over its cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. Two gunmen stormed its offices shooting dead several people including the magazine's editor Stephane Charbonnier and four of its cartoonists. Witnesses said they shouted "Allahu Akbar" and "we have avenged the prophet". The attack followed a number of serious threats and a 2011 firebombing for Charlie Hebdo's satire on Islam. Gérard Biard has worked at the magazines since 1992, and has been editor in chief for the past 10 years. Steve talks to him about how the magazine can continue to publish in the same way, and whether free speech can exist alongside the threat of extremism. A petition calling on the BBC to abandon its plans for a series, 'Britain's Hardest Worker' which will pitch unemployed and low paid people against each other for a cash prize, now has over 25000 signatures. It's been dubbed by critics as 'poverty porn' and a 'Hunger Games style game show'. Steve Hewlett talks to Labour MP Louise Haigh who fears the programme will demonise working class people, and to executive producer Tim Carter from Twenty Twenty.A workforce survey by Creative Skillset, the creative industry skills body, has found that just five percent of the TV workforce considers themselves to have a disability, compared to eleven percent of the wider UK working population. It's calling on broadcasters and indies to 'urgently' improve the number. Amongst its other findings, it revealed a marked rise in the number of people doing unpaid work in the creative industries. Steve talks to Dr Kion Ahadi, Head of Research at Creative Skillset about the findings and what needs to be done. Producer: Katy Takatsuki.
