Why? This book is only four chapters but summarizes the context of life before creation, after creation, redemption of mankind through Jesus Christ's death on the cross, burial and resurrection from the dead after three days, how he defeated all “the powers that be” – all the powers of darkness, and how He then gave us that authority as new creations in Christ and then it ends with how we are to live our lives through this new man identity to bring Glory to the Father. In this series: Welcome to Precept Upon Precept–Line Upon Line, a place where we go in more depth into the Word of God precept upon precept and Line upon Line. For partnership, contact us: jaef.foundation@gmail.com Episode 11 of Wisdom is the Principal Thing series. In this episode, we are enlightened by these scriptures: Prov 1:20-33, 2:1-22 | Psa 25:12-15, 82:1-8, | 1 Kin 3:4-28, 4:29-34, 10:1-29 | 2 Chron 1:13-17 | Job 1, 2, 28, 29, 38, 39, 40, 41 | James 3:13-18 | Luk 2:40-52 | Mark 1:21-28, 6:1-3 | Isa 11:2 | Rev 3:1, 4:5, 5:6 | John 7:14-16 | Acts 6:1-15 In this series: Prov 4:7 (NKJV) says; Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. I believe more than ever these words couldn't be truer, in a world where many have lost FAITH not just in God but in the “system”, many are walking around HOPELESS and the word LOVE is thrown around unintentionally, not to mention decisions upon decisions; our own personal decisions and legislative ones being made without the backing of WISDOM… These words, “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding…” have prompted a deeper search into the wisdom of God - Elohim Adonai -the Everlasting and Ancient of Days. Recently in one of my koinonia-s with the Lord, He said to me, “Calvin, how many people would jump at the opportunity to sit down with the richest or most famous or most influential or top performing etc. people in this world ?” Many of us given the opportunity would love to hear the words from one of these minds. Their words would be received like a most valuable treasure and stored in the depths of our heart if not nailed to our hearts. He went on to say, “You have a similar opportunity every day, everyday you can sit at the feet of the wisest and richest man who has ever lived on this planet.” And the only thing it would cost you is time. I said wooow, that's true, my perspective changed as I was reading through Proverbs chapter 12 and 13. My eyes were being enlightened by ancient truths that have pillared our society today. I said with Joy and gladness in my heart, I'm going to treat further readings of the book of Proverbs as appointments with King Solomon. Everyday I will make it a habit to meet with King Solomon to give me the perspective of a King, why not? Besides Rev 1:6 says; “...and has made us Kings and Priests to His God…” and who wouldn't want to hear words coming directly from a King? You see friend, in Christ we are many things and to be partakers of our new-creation-nature realities we must first renew our minds. Be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind (Rom 12:2). Prov 1:7 (NKJV) says; “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge…” and Prov 9:10 (NKJV) says; “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” With this new perspective, I believe that “The fear or reverence of God's Word is the beginning of Spiritual encounters” So journey along, take a seat, get comfortable, open your eyes, ears, heart, mind and soul to receive this engrafted Word with meekness that is able to save our souls from the pits of Faith-lessness, Hope-lessness, Love-lessness and Wisdom-lessness. Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? v.10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” v.11 For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, v.12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,” And, “This is the refreshing”; Yet they would not hear. v.13 But the word of the Lord was to them, “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little,” That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught. The problem of the futuristic Gospel (The Gospel of going to Heaven vs a Power that starts to change us right now in this life), The Prerequisite of Grace – the eyes of our understanding being enlightened as Paul mentions in Eph 1, for a believer to tap in his or her new creation realities, the power of Eternal life that Jesus brings us into – we must first grow in the knowledge of God, then activate a Christ consciousness within us and then as 1 Peter 1:13 puts it “...rest your hope fully upon the Grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ ” We are enlightened by these Scriptures: Luke 17:20-21 | John 4:21-24 | Gal 4:1-6 | Eph 1:16-22, 4:7-16 | Phi 3:7-11 | Rev 11:15-16 | Heb 6:1-6 | 1 Pet 1:13, 2:4-10 | 2 Pet 1:1-4 About Aaron: He has a masters in Holistic Mission and Development and Geography, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Justice Education at University of Toronto - Canada. Because back in the days of Isaiah 28:9-13 that's what God intended for the children of Israel, but because they ignored this softer approach He told them that “For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people” Isaiah 28:9-13 (NKJV) 9 “Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, 12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest,” And, “This is the refreshing”; Yet they would not hear. 13 But the word of the Lord was to them, “Precept upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little,” That they might go and fall backward, and be broken And snared and caught. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%2028&version=NKJV In this space I will be sharing tools on how to read the Bible and how to learn how to use scripture to speak to you. For partnership, contact us: jaef.foundation@gmail.com Episode 9 of our Wisdom is the Principal Thing series. In this episode: We are enlightened by these scriptures: Prov 1:20-33, 2:1-22 | Psa 25:12-15, 82:1-8, | 1 Kin 3:4-28, 4:29-34, 10:1-29 | 2 Chron 1:13-17 | Job 1, 2, 28, 29 In this series: Prov 4:7 (NKJV) says; Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. For partnership, contact us: jaef.foundation@gmail.com We are enlightened by these scriptures: Job 1:6-22, 2:1-13 | Mark 14:66-72 | John 13:36-38 | Prov 18:14 | Heb 5:12-14, 6:1-6 | 1 John 2:18-29, 4:1-6 | Rev 21:1-27 In this episode: We unpack the chaos happening in the world, God's wrath on “lawlessness and unrighteous” albeit in the age or dispensation of God's “Grace” and what role do you as a believer or non-believer in Jesus Christ play by default? Such unpatterned and unpredictable combinations of color make this painting an obscure one - hard to understand, capable of wrenching any believers' Faith. So let's see how many pieces of this puzzle we can unpack… Shakespeare once said; “All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; ...” From a biblical point of view, there is some truth to this because in Romans 8:28-30 (KJV) we read; 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. So yes, there is an ongoing overarching plan that God has purposed for His creation and humanity, the main stage! Only, the characters in God's play have their own “free-will” unlike any play that's ever been directed. Book Title: Healing for Damaged Emotions by David A. Seamands. We shall use this book as the foundation for this area of study. Some Book excerpts: "Events in our lives, both good and bad, form rings in us like the rings in a tree. Each ring records memories that affect our feelings, our relationships, and our thoughts about God." "Understanding that salvation does not give instant emotional health offers us an important insight into the doctrine of sanctification. It is impossible to know how "Christian" a person is, merely on the basis of his outward behaviour." Recently, a friend of mine dropped by and we did a book exchange. I wasn't intending to read it anytime soon but he kept asking me; "hey how's the book going". I didn't want to lie so I picked it up and dived in and lo and behold, it started poking at some skewed-thinking patterns in me. Also, sometimes, we spirit filled tongue talking believers aren't quick to jump at titles like this one: "Healing for Damaged Emotions". We want the hard core stuff, the demon casting and binding spiritual warfare type books, not stuff about our emotions!!! Scripture has a lot to say about Emotions but this one from 3 John 2 (KJV) probably summarizes it best: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. The Soul is the faculty of our being where our Mind-Will-Emotions are centered. Saint John the Apostle is telling us that prosperity in any other area of our lives can only go as far as we are healthily-prospering in our souls! As I read along, lots of nuggets kept jumping off the page at me and here we are, going to do a study series on it. Enjoy this book series and we hope this episode blesses your heart! For partnership, contact us: jaef.foundation@gmail.com We are enlightened by these scriptures: Colossians 1:19-29 In this episode: We start off with what has become a favourite and spiritual staple for me - The Epistle of Paul to the Colossians. For partnership, contact us: jaef.foundation@gmail.com Episode 5 of our Wisdom is the Principal Thing series. In this episode: We are enlightened by these scriptures: Prov 1:20-33 | Psa 82:1-8 | 2 Cori 9:6-15| I Sam 30:1-31 | 2 Sam 6:1-23 | Eph 1:20-21, 4:10 | Phi 2:5-7 | Hos 4:6 | Isa 5:13 | 1 Kin 3:4-28 In this series: Prov 4:7 (NKJV) says; Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom.
