Catherine Hanna Schrock is the co-founder and director of Community Development for Blindspot Collective, “a theatre company that amplifies marginalized voices, illuminates untold stories, and energizes vulnerable communities.” Prior to starting her company, she created a Forum Theatre performance for human trafficking prevention, a girl's arts and empowerment program in Kenya, and the “Invisible Children Teacher Exchange” show, which she directed in Uganda. Sharon Gruber is a life-long resident of San Diego and has worked as a sales representative for Vanguard Industries West (largest military manufacturer in the world) for the past 34 years. She is incredibly passionate about volunteering and spends her free time packaging food for local food banks, aiding nonprofit organizations, and sewing hundreds of hats for underserved kids as a member of the Poway Kiwanis Club. In this episode Gruber shares how she tirelessly worked her way through college and how her work ethic and ability to stay confident and poised has led her to success.
