The purpose of onepodlife is to share insights from Golf Professionals. A combination of PGA or European Tour players, but with the soul aim of speaking to the aspiring Professionals on the lower rank tours and their advice to anyone trying to get there. We all aspire to become professional golfers, I know I do, but what does it take to get there? I’ll be talking to up and coming Golf Professionals playing on the Jamega, Clutch and TP Tours, hearing their stories, how they turned professional and any advice they can give me on how to get there myself. Along with some special guest interviews with Professional Coaches and how they go about moulding their students ready for the Tour journey.

Ellie Skoog is one of the biggest golf content creators out there at the moment, but she hasn't always just been a social media influencer. She first picked up a golf club back in 1998 due to the fact that both her parents were in the golf industry. Living in Sweden with very limited opportunities to play due to the weather, Ellie first fell in love with dance but later transitioned to golf and then left for the United States to attend Limestone University in South Carolina for 4 years. Albert Venter has been playing professional golf since 2018 but he hasn't just stuck to playing in South Africa. Ryan Harmer started playing golf at the age of 8 and by the age of 16, he was playing off scratch. He topped off his Amateur career by representing his county, Hampshire, and helping them to their county finals wins back in 2017. In this episode, I speak to Jack Floydd who is currently playing on the Alps Tour and sitting nicely in the top 5 of the Order of Merit for this year so far. After serving as Captain for Sussex County, leading the team to the 2013 Southeast England Foursomes title; Jack went to JMU in Virginia not too far away from Washington from 2014-18. On returning from the States, Jack turned Pro in 2020. In 2022 he made it through a 5-man play-off in the 150th Open Qualifying at Princes to make it through to the main competition and competed against some of the biggest names in golf. As inspiring stories go, Mike Browne's journey is one that will definitely sit up there. Mike suffered a broken left leg during a routine training exercise serving for the Royal Artillery unit in 2011, but his injury hadn't healed almost two years later due to a rare infection which led him to undergo amputation. It was the best thing for Mike, as it gave him a better quality of life straight away. We talk through his journey from being in the Army to playing professional golf with the help of a charity called On Course Foundation. Georgia Coughlin stumbled into golf whilst she was in Riyadh where her family lived. I agree, playing the same course every time will not improve your game, you'll just get comfortable and when you travel elsewhere it will be daunting. What does it take to get back to the top? In this episode I speak to former European Tour player and founder of 2020protour, Chris Hanson as he embarks on a return to the top of game by entering DP World Tour Q-School. Chris played on the European Tour (now DP World Tour) for 3 years, 2016-19, with another two years on the Challenge Tour whilst setting up his own mini tour to help professional golfers gain experience for the big leagues, called 2020protour Having taken some time out and finding his love for the game again, Chris is ready to get back to the levels he knows he can play on, starting with Q-School in Denmark.
