A born showman and an unusually accomplished sleight of hand artist, David dazzles audiences with a unique and delightful brand of entertainment, blending heart-stopping magic with side-splitting hilarity. Morgan and West met whilst studying at Oxford in the late nineteenth century. It was in that most reclining of seats of learning that the duo’s love of deception and legerdemain was born, and they would have been joined at the hip ever since, were it not for the vast discrepancy in the height of their pelvises. In the intervening centuries these time travelling tricksters have performed their unique brand of magic, wit and whimsy on stages all over the UK, and indeed all around the world. Anywhere there are boards to be trodden, crowds to be wowed or tea to be drunk Morgan & West will be there with miracles in tow. Eagle eyed magic fans (magic fans who are eagle eyed that is, not fans of eagle eyed magic) will have spotted Morgan & West on their television/computer/tablet/phone/phablet/smart watch/smart kettle screens in recent years on shows such as Penn & Teller: Fools Us, The Slammer and The Next Great Magician. I also recorded with Morgan & West for my Patreon page at www.patreon.com/markjamesmagician where we discussed the four performers they'd choose for their own variety show. Today, she is not only one of Sweden's most booked magicians, but also one of the world's foremost female magicians. I spoke to Caroline about her streamed theatre show 'Where The Magic Happens'. We discuss the ever changing landscape for performers, the difficulties caused by costumes and Caroline's theories on making the audience the stars of your performance. Usually I search the internet for already self written biographies (sometimes with hilarious 20 year old results, sorry Danny!) of the guest I've interviewed. It came as no surprise to me that Mark didn't have one. In the world he inhabits, his reputation is such that he doesn't need one! In 2004 I was lucky enough to walk into JB Magic and find Mark Mason standing behind the counter. I didn't know that I was about to be treated to a performance by the greatest magic demonstrator alive. A statement that's as true now as it was then. Three years later I was entirely obsessed with magic and even found myself working behind the counter in that same store. The years I spent working with Mark were easily some of the happiest in my life. I laughed more than I thought possible and learned more than I could ever say thank you for. Standing next to Mark making gimmicks or watching him demonstrate magic every day was really a gift. We talk about those days in great detail as well as Mark's beginnings as game operator turned magician. We discuss the evolution of JB Magic as a physical store and all of his favourite routines for stand up and parlour shows. I genuinely cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be able to bring you this chat. I hope you love it as much as I did. I also recorded with Mark for my patreon page at www.patreon.com/markjamesmagician where we discussed the four performers he'd choose for his own magical variety show and Mark's love of silent film stars like Charlie Chaplin. From MagicWeek Profile: Danny Buckler is one of Great Britain's fastest rising stars of comedy and magic, with a unique style that has already taken him around the world and resulted in his own comedy special for Channel Four: Danny Does Tricks. Danny fell in love with performing almost as soon as he could walk but it was while at college, when called upon to perform a self devised piece as part of a drama course, that Danny realised this was something he could do with his life. Danny has worked his way up through London's tough comedy circuit to become one of its most popular performers - regularly playing at all the top venues including Jongleurs and The Comedy Store. Danny also works as a TV warm-up artist, on shows as diverse as the hard hitting Channel Four show Is This Your Life? (Open Media) and the award winning sitcom Dinner Ladies (Positive Productions). Last year Danny was called upon to do a 'Bob Hope' and entertain troops overseas in Bosnia and Northern Ireland. He was also a part of the weekly 'cultural event' that was 'Having Words With The Barefoot Doctor' in which the Doc would let Danny perform magic or just let out whatever was on his mind! Danny was the opening act for Victoria Wood on her recent sell-out tour and was chuffed to bits to be asked to perform alongside Victoria and Imelda Staughnton as part of the recent show Victoria Wood and Friends at the Adelphie Theatre, in London's West End. This year Danny is teaming up with the amazing Mandy Muden to bring their first show, Two Funny Magicians, to the Edinburgh Festival.
