Perhaps the cruelest trick Apple has ever pulled was providing recording studios at WWDC in hour long blocks after a keynote that's over two hours long and jam-packed with discussable material. Given that Aaron and I aren't used to dealing with time constraints like these, we apologize if this episode seems rushed. On the plus side though, Apple has really good recording equipment which makes me sound great. But somehow, we managed to hit all the big WWDC keynote topics including new Macs and iPads, AR, VR, High Sierra, iOS 11, and the introduction of the HomePod. I was cured when my friend Bill and I traded some Pokémon in his truck after school and we both realized that what we were doing was decidedly "not cool." We were late for band practice. On a technical level, there hasn't been anything particularly groundbreaking introduced, which actually feels pretty nice. There's no feeling of "Oh crap I definitely need to add X functionality to my app!" like there has been in years past. Well, I received an iTunes Connect email shortly after recording informing me that I had, in fact, been rejected again. For metadata reasons, again. One problem is fairly easy to fix, though I've never heard of people having to do it before. Apparently since Prime requires a server running Plex in order to work, I need to submit a video of me using the app before they can approve it. I feel special. The other problem, though, is that they don't like the name "Prime - Plex Movies and TV Shows". Apparently it "creates a misleading association with a third party." Huge week this week. Aaron and I discuss winning big at the casino, new houses, and the release of an all new version of Kitchen Sync! App releases are always crazy, but the release of Kitchen Sync has been particularly nuts. Let me give you the TL;DR. Over the past three weeks, this app has gotten rejected from Apple for "bugs," then approved (with no code update) after I asked them for more information, and everything has gotten delayed twice because of two separate west coast trips. But after all that, I finally hit the "release" button Wednesday morning. 10 minutes later, I got a call from my son's day care telling me that he was sick and that I had to come pick him up. So I got to spend KS Release Day running back and forth from the doctor's office, and coding for my day job with him on my lap. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier that this app is finally in the App Store and available for all to enjoy. Special guest star Adam Johnson joins us once again to talk about nerd stuff. In this week's episode we talk about Adam J's latest creation - an entire video series on iOS app development, Adam K's reluctance to implement blog comments, Hearthstone's new expansion, Fantasy Football, and predictions for Apple's (probable) September event. I feel a special pressure to make the show notes links good this week, after bringing them up specifically in this week's episode. So there goes nothing. Somehow we made it through the entire show without mentioning Rocket League, which feels like a mistake. In this week's vociferous episode of Techdown, we talk about why we're both sore today, Adam getting back into blogging, mixing Mexican food with sports, how a lot of people have an antiquated opinion on listening to music, and Aaron gets pleasantly surprised. Do any of those topics sound interesting to you? I sure hope so because otherwise you've come to entirely the wrong podcast. Mike gets satisfied Adam's morning ride

I think that there's a direct correlation between the number of things that we discuss on Techdown and the quality of the episode. And this week we talk about a lot of different things. Like, a lot. Books, milk, space, video games, bicycles, iPods... and we even delve into HBO's Deadwood for a second or two. If this episode doesn't whet your Techdown-atite, then nothing will. In this week's episode of the show, our intrepid hosts discuss the meltdown that the "Front Page of the Internet" has been having over the past couple of weeks, and give our impressions of iOS 9 after spending some time with it on our daily driver phones. Aaron was too kind to mention it while we were recording, but just as was the case with my school homework, I've neglected to do my Techdown Homework. I've not yet "Uber'd around" as some say. Turns out, it's actually really hard to come up with reasons to have somebody drive you somewhere when you work from home and have a newborn. But I'm not making excuses! I've marked an F in my grade book and will be looking for some extra credit to salvage this semester of Techdown. Maybe I can Uber to Ohio or something. In this week's episode, Aaron talks watermelons, I talk diapers, and things just get more interesting from there. After a little while we do start talking about some tech stuff, I guess. But it's pretty safe to say that this episode contains more foreplay covering a wider range of topics than any episode before it. You're welcome. About a week ago, I noticed that you could get a two pack of the Auphonix Blue Yeti Pop Filters from Amazon for $4 *less* than a single pop filter from the same company. Needing a pop filter, knowing that Aaron also needed a pop filter, and not being the type to pass up a good deal, I purchased the 2 pack with the intention of giving the additional filter to my brother. Well, when Aaron and I met up this weekend, not only did I forget to bring him his pop filter, but apparently he had also noticed the same "2 for cheaper than 1" deal that Auphonix/Amazon had goin' on, had made the purchase with the same (but opposite!) intentions as me... AND also had the common decency to remember to bring it to me (in addition to a bunch of cool shirts from Need Edition) as a belated Father's Day gift! That thoughtful jerk! Anyway, long story short, you should really let us know how you think our P's sound this episode. To Apple, Love T-Swizzle Song Exploder (Game of Thrones Theme) Strava (Stray-va?) for iOS

There was a lot of stuff announced at E3 this year that's worth talking about. So much so that Aaron and I needed to have special guest host Mike Dickman on the show to help us navigate it all. There was so much content that we didn't even get to talk about the last season of Game of Thrones. Which I didn't even realize until right now. Dammit. Part of me wants to call Mike up and ask him his thoughts and then have Aaron splice them in as though it were normal conversation. But I guess we all have our regrets in life. As Aaron points out, we are currently in the fat weeks for tech news. We must work to consume as much as possible for the lean winter months ahead. In this week's episode, we delve into Phil W. Schiller being a guest on John Gruber's show, Apple's WWDC sessions, and briefly get distracted by stuff like grocery shopping, the Steam Summer Sale, and the TV show Community. Hopefully you enjoyed the last two podcasts that we've done. If Techdowns were courses in a meal, I'd say that the Google I/O episode was an appetizer, setting the stage for the delicacies ahead. The WWDC prediction episode was the salad course - crunchy and delicious, but definitely not enough to satisfy fully. This episode, of course, is the main course. El Capitan. iOS 9. watchOS. Apple Music. Swift 2 (Electric Boogaloo). The list goes on and on. We hope you brought your appetite!
