Here we go again, and this time we welcome Scott Steele to the back up for a catch up. We talk through being part of a history making Scotland team after this years 6 Nations wins in London and Paris, and confirm how many positions he's played in his relatively short international career so far! Also, how that all capped a whirlwind year since the impact of COVID and lockdown threatened to derail his rugby career entirely. A pretty inspirational listen to hear how he's come back from that adversity to have such a fantastic year, and we're certain there's more of that ahead next season! As always the usual features with the lads and battle to curry our guests favour in the heroes and zeros competition!Folks, remember to like, review, share, subscribe then be a friend and tell a friend. Much love people!

Are you with me? Aye we are! The lads were buzzing to have Scottish singer/songwriter and social media sensation Brooke Combe (not Coombe ya dummies) join us at The Back Bar! She's recently released her debut single and launched into the hearts of Scotland fans last year with her acoustic cover of Yes Sir I Can Boogie! You'll no doubt have seen or heard her on This Morning, Sky Sports, Clyde 1 and others over the course of the Euros. We had a great chat with her learning about how she got into singing, handling internet fame and marriage proposals, her upcoming debut gig at the legendary King Tuts and what her dream gig venue would be! As always this top notch content is peppered with some of our questionable patter and the odd bit of petty competitiveness when the heroes and zeros is up for grabs! If you enjoy the chat, help us to help you, like, share, retweet, subscribe, rate, review and anything else you show us the love :)

Award winning Scottish crime author Chris Brookmyre is with the lads for this episode. It was a bit of a challenge for us to keep up with this super intelligent guy, but we gave it a go and had middling success....Hear how Chris got into writing and what is was like having James Nesbitt bring one of his characters to life on tv! We also chat about the Ambrose Parry novels co-written with his wife and having Nicola Sturgeon as a famous fan. There was also some disappointment amongst the hosts when someone found out their name wouldn't make the cut as a Brookmyre character.....As usual the light hearted (?) competition continues on the heroes and zeros and a smattering of random patter from from start to finish. This is a fun one as we're joined by their good mate and brother of a previous guest, Mr Babatunde Ojo, or Babs to friends. We find out that he's been far more productive than us throughout the year of lockdown, and come out of it looking and sounding gooooood, between his fitness goals and singing aspirations (check out @tjomusic on instagram). We hit some listener questions, an impromptu speed round and some admittedly pretty boozy Back Bar banter throughout. Give it a listen, best enjoyed with sunshine and 3-4 beers

We had an incredibly entertaining and insightful conversation with Emma, in particular on her thoughts of her own progress and that of other women in what has been predominantly a male environment. We also go over some of the roughly 10 million achievements in her career to date, from delivering sausage rolls to the green room and the budding 'bromance' with Stevie Gerrard, working in various cultures around the world and of course most recently her insight in the revival of Rangers. There's also the return of Heroes & Zeros (surely Mini can get a win this time?!) and Emma gets put through her paces in the speed round! As usual if you enjoy it then please spread the word, the more like, shares, follows, downloads we get the more likely there'll be more of our nonsense to listen to in the future! If you didn't enjoy it, put it down to life experience and just keep it moving along.

We hear about his time volunteering in Sudan, which was followed by distinguished military service as a Green Beret. We then got into what it's like to follow that with moving into student life in your late 20s, making it as a Texas Longhorn walk-on starter, then becoming the oldest NFL rookie in the Super Bowl era! Although his influence in the NFL is more widely seen in the results of his conversation with Colin Kaepernick. Also get the lowdown on the work of his Merging Vets & Players Foundation and building his acting/directing career in the bright lights of Hollywood! It was genuinely a privilege for us to speak to him, he's a top guy and has earned 3 new man crushes!

As we hit the half-dozen mark (who had us not making it past one?)  we're joined by a certified legend in former England International and London Irish record holder, Topsy Ojo. Plenty of laughs in this one, as questions are raised on the accuracy of Wikipedia's try count and hearing what it's like to intercept the great Dan Carter for a length of the pitch try on your international debut. We hear about the rare professional breed of a one club man and setting perhaps unbreakable records as a career legacy. Also, the challenge is laid down as we call out Topsy's media colleague, Bryan Habana, to see who's the king of the retired speedsters. Keep your eyes peeled as me do our best to try bring this into reality, maybe in post-covid times though....Later on we learn about Skywalker's irrational dislike of The Rock and find out if Mini can break his Heroes and Zeros losing streak?!

We also put to bed any speculation on who he really supports (spoiler it's definitely Motherwell)....We also had our first "hosts hang out" answering some questions from social media, whilst giving each other a hard time....hopefully not denting each others egos too much in the process, and I'm sure we'll still be back for more banter at the Back Bar soon!
