We break down the history of doomsday predictions, from Harold Camping's 2011 miss to the Millerites' “Great Disappointment” of 1844, to Heaven's Gate and Hale-Bopp, to secular versions like Y2K and the 2012 Mayan calendar scare. It's always the same pattern: finite, dramatic, and always a letdown.
