The best recap of the NFL Divisional Round, from Mark Andrews despair to Jayden Daniels showing Lions fans what an actual elite QB is, which is NOT Jared Goff. From Mahomes magic, Travis The Terrific and Saquon The Don, it's the best listen that anyone will have on the always dramatic second week of the NFL Playoffs. Enjoying this jammed packed show, with Vince Saiz, JR, Ralph Mentor, Whittle, Nonsense, Tate, Shadow, JX, Eric, JB, Luca Gaynor, Tee Dizzle, and Betting Monster.
Wyman and Bob are live at T-Mobile Park and are joined once again by Mark Schlereth to talk about his reaction to the divisional round playoffs as well as his thoughts on Ravens tight end Mark Andrews’ crucial drop, then they are joined by Mariner insider Shannon Drayer to talk about Ichiro’s hall of fame induction and legacy in Seattle, then they hear what Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said about winning the national championship, Houston Texans cornerback Kris Boyd’s explanation as to why he shoved his special teams coach, and more in Sweeping the Dial.
We talked about Jalen Hurts' performance yesterday against the Rams. Boomer thought he held onto the ball for too long in many instances. We also talked about Washington and how Dan Quinn will probably be the coach of the year and Jayden Daniels will be the rookie of the year. Boomer said this is what a great quarterback can do for a team. The Giants and Jets both need that. Boomer thinks it's easier for the Giants to be at 3, since one of the quarterbacks will ‘fall to them' and it won't be their decision to make. Boomer wonders if the Raiders move up to 2 to take Shedeur Sanders. What are the Giants selling to their fans if they don't get Sanders or Cam Ward? Boomer said this Commander's team reminds him of the 2007 Giants. Caitlin Clark was in the box in Kansas City with Taylor Swift. Jerry returns for an update, but first we we talked about Al & Jerry being on YouTube now and nobody watching it. Jerry plays a message from former Bills head coach, Marv Levy. He's 99 and sounds awesome. The Ravens came up short against the Bills as Mark Andrews dropped a game tying 2-point conversion. Lamar Jackson talked about his turnovers. Texans' Kris Boyd talked about shoving his coach, sort of. Saquon Barkley ran for 205 as the Eagles beat the Rams. Dan Quinn talked about Jayden Daniels being clutch and making great decisions. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the 5 other QBs that started a championship game as a rookie. That got us into a discussion about Shaun King, who was one of those guys.
Hour 1 Championship weekend is set and most of the games were decided by teams turning the ball over. Boomer does not like Patrick Mahomes flopping and the refs calling penalties every time that guy gets hit. He gets treated differently than any other quarterback in the league. Gio doesn't think he'll be treated the same way because they are playing the Bills. Nobody wants to see the Texans move on, so Mahomes got all the calls. Gio thinks the Bills going to the Super Bowl is a bigger story so Mahomes won't get all the calls. With the Lions defensive performance Saturday night, has this hurt Aaron Glenn? Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Bills beating the Ravens as Mark Andrews had a tough fourth quarter. On the 2-point attempt, Boomer thinks it's more on Lamar Jackson than Mark Andrews. Lamar Jackson talked about his turnovers that cost them the game. Josh Allen talked about moving on to KC. We heard one of the many great runs by Saquon Barkley as they beat the Rams. AJ Brown showed up to the game in a Honda Accord. Dan Campbell was very emotional after the loss to Washington. In the final segment of the hour, Matthew Stafford is going to take some time to decide what to do next. Gio said he immediately goes to the top of the list of available quarterbacks. Hour 2 If the Jets are going to hire Aaron Glenn, it may happen soon now that the Lions got bounced. Ben Johnson is also available now and if teams want these guys, they have to pounce. Mike Borganzi was hired by the Titans so he's not coming to the Jets. A caller wondered, if the Chiefs are getting treated by the refs, how is this not a rigged game? Boomer said there's no way to prove the bias, but it's the perception we have. A caller talked about the Chiefs taking a safety and screwing bettors, but B&G said that helped other bettors and the players don't care about the spreads in games. Another caller wondered why the Ravens went for 2. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the final call as the Bills beat the Ravens. The Baltimore announcers said ‘the Ravens beat the Ravens'. John Harbaugh talked about Mark Andrews and how he'll handle the adversity now. We heard from Buck and Aikman as the refs do everything they can to help Mahomes. We heard both Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley score on long runs. Mike Kafka is getting a second interview with the Saints. In the final segment of the hour, Tom Brady and his agent have both said he is going to fulfil his 10 year commitment to Fox. Gio said he is rarely annoyed by broadcasters during games. Hour 3 We talked about Jalen Hurts' performance yesterday against the Rams. Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report. Greg Joseph's five field goals propel the Vikings to a 3 - 1 record this season as the Minnesota Vikings get the win 28-25. Joseph's field goals from 28, 36, 24, 46, and 47 yards gave him a new personal record of five made kicks in a single game. Overall, Special Teams had a big day: Ryan Wright threw a 13-yard pass to Jalen Nailor on a fake punt that helped keep the drive alive and setup Joseph for his 4th field goal of the day and Kris Boyd recovered a punt fumble in the 3rd Quarter that lead to points. The Vikings Offense generated 344 yards on Sunday, lead by Kirk Cousins 273 yards passing with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Justin Jefferson balled out and did "The Griddy" after hauling in 10 receptions for 147 yards, as well scoring on a three-yard rushing touchdown. Collectively, the running game had 81-yards on the ground as the tough Saints Defense made getting down field difficult all day. Defensively, the guys generated a fumble, two sacks and three quarterback hits on Andy Dalton. Uvalde developments: the narrative from law enforcement continues to pivot wildly, with various news outlets reporting inconsistent reads on whether Uvalde's school district and school police are cooperating with the investigating Texas Rangers. More consistent is the report that school police chief Pete Arredondo has failed to respond to requests for a follow-up interview - while also being sworn in to the Uvalde City Council in a private ceremony yesterday. The normally police-friendly population of Uvalde is now grappling with what appears to be a monumental police failure.
