Then, we pick up from last week with the Crimson Ghost and Horror Business, the deaths of Nancy Spungeon and Sid Vicious, Tammy, Hitchcock, Bernard Herrmann and the infamous shower scene in Psycho, the documentary 78/52 and the Bomb Under the Table Technique, Diabolique's influence on Psycho and the sequels, Vera Clouzot's untimely death and her work on The Wages of Fear - remade as Sorcerer, Scarface and Raging Bull scenes that copy Psycho, Night of the Living Dead, George A. Romero and his work with the Misfits on Bruiser, the Famous Monster's album and the singles from the movie Bruiser, 3 Hits from Hell and the Fiend Club, Horror Hotel aka the City of the Dead, Jason Statham, King Diamond's Sleepless Nights, White and Rob Zombie, Fanatic aka Die, Die My Darling! with Tallulah Bankhead, Vincent Price and the Oblong Box, Herschell Gordon Lewis and his Blood Feast's inspiration on the slasher genre, Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood and the Psychopath aka Schizo, and last but not least…Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight!?! Join us as we discuss some Slayer Santas with criminal tendencies! We kick things off by exploring all the different laws and regulations Santa breaks on a regular basis, from tax evasion to unlawful surveillance. Next, we dive into …And All Through the House, both the segment from the 1972 anthology film and the episode from the 1989 television series Tales from the Crypt, the ladder featuring the most menacing Larry Drake as the escaped lunatic. We also get to hear Mike's Cryptkeeper impersonation! If you've ever wanted to glue a beard and eyebrows to your face and go on a Yuletide rampage, then Christmas Evil aka You Better Watch Out from 1980, which is John Waters favorite Christmas themed film, is just for you. A Black Christmas / Friday the 13th mashup, To All a Goodnight. 1984's Silent Night, Deadly Night also gets a lengthy, in-depth analysis, just in time for GARBAGE DAY! The film with many names that the ripped off as the basis for Home Alone, Dial Code Santa Claus aka Game Over features a Slayer Santa and a young French Rambo. Wrapping it all up, we get silly with the horrible Silent Night remake from 2012, which was partially inspired by the tragic real life Covina Massacre on Christmas Eve in 2008, where Bruce Pardo crashed the party of his in-laws and killed 9 members of his ex-wife's family dressed in a custom made Santa suit before torching their house with a homemade flamethrower that he brought with him wrapped as a present. Sources for this episode include How Many Crimes Would Santa be Guilty of If He Were Real? by Sean Braswell and Adam Rockoff's Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film, 1978-1986. Warning: Explicit content. What are your limits? Surely there are some types of horror movies that you will not watch. Or are there? There has always been an audience for the disturbing and unsettling image. And there’s an intimate relationship between the violence and sensationalism shown in Underground Movies and the anxieties of our culture. In this episode I discuss Exploitation Films and Extreme Horror: its history starting with Thomas Edison’s first experiments with the movie camera through the Grindhouse Era to Modern Horror Cinema.
