It's time to break down A Royal Christmas Hope.ABOUT A ROYAL CHRISTMAS HOPEA nonprofit director meets a prince volunteering incognito at her charity during Christmas. While helping families in need, they develop unexpected feelings for each other — and face the challenge of balancing duty, identity, and love.AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR A ROYAL CHRISTMAS HOPENovember 23 2025 | UpTVCAST & CREW OF A ROYAL CHRISTMAS HOPEJenna Michno as Julia CarterRobert Adamson as Prince ChristopherBRAN'S A ROYAL CHRISTMAS HOPE SYNOPSISWe open at a non-profit, and things are… not great. Director Julia is scrambling to figure out how to save the place. She started Hope for All to give hope for all — but if they run out of money, there's going to be hope for none. What can they do? Well, they could cancel the Christmas tree lighting. Over Julia's dead body! She's determined to figure something out.Cut to a castle. Prince Christopher is over palace Christmas and wants to experience the holiday anywhere else. His parents are not into it, but his mind is made up: he wants to go to America. His dad, the King, agrees on one condition — he must take a chaperone: Malcolm. Malcolm is… not thrilled. So off to America he goes, and off to her family farm Julia goes — which must not be too far away, because she's quickly back in town to oversee an event the non-profit is hosting. Prince Christopher goes out for a jog, wanders into the event (thinking it's a store for some reason), and Julia assumes he's hungry and tries to give him food. He politely declines and runs off.But he cannot stop thinking about her, so he shows up later that night and asks her out to dinner. She reluctantly agrees and ends up opening up about the non-profit's financial struggles. She also teaches him the finer points of eating nachos and drinking cola. He tells her he wants to volunteer at her non-profit.He does — and he's great with kids. She even asks if he has any, because he's so natural with them. He doesn't, but they keep sharing, and she eventually tells him she was married once — her husband Keith died in a car accident a few years ago.Naturally, this leads to them eating Chinese food in her apartment. They keep hanging out… and he keeps not telling her who he really is.Julia's friend starts getting suspicious — he's not on social media, his backstory is shaky, and something just isn't adding up. So she sleuths. And she discovers: he's a prince. Of course she tells Julia. Julia confronts him and breaks things off — she feels betrayed. She's stunned when she later sees that he made a massive donation to the non-profit. And, honestly? It works. She goes to see if he's still at the hotel, but he's already left. When she gets back to her office, though — he's there waiting. They reconcile, head to the Christmas tree lighting, and KISSSSSSSS. Running water. Sanitation systems. Electricity. A car to drive to the store. Enough food to feed your family. These are all things that we've likely taken for granted at one time or another — and they're things that so many in the world live without every day. As part of our Holiday Giving Back Episode series, we talk with the VP of a charitable organization whose mission is to eliminate that level of extreme poverty worldwide. Mark Lutz is the Senior Vice President of Global Philanthropy at Opportunity International. He joined the organization in 1986 and grew private annual revenue from $1 million to more than $40 million. Mark grew up in South Africa with his missionary parents. Living for 20 years under apartheid shaped him to become an advocate for justice. He's also the author of “UnPoverty: Rich Lessons from the Working Poor.” Tune into the full conversation for more on Opportunity International's unique method of making a difference in impoverished people's lives, personal stories from Mark's book that display the valuable lessons he's learned from those living in poverty, success stories from the entrepreneurs Mark's organization has worked with, and a lot more. Here's a Glimpse of What You'll Learn: How growing up in apartheid South Africa was the “germ” that later became Mark's career in the nonprofit world More about the lightbulb moment Mark had in which he realized he could leverage other people's money to fight for justice and an end to poverty The definition of a “micro-loan”, how Opportunity International recipients typically use that kind of loan, and how those small loans snowball into bigger chances at breaking out of poverty Mark shares a story from his book involving a group of women from India and the valuable lessons that they taught him How much Opportunity International money has been loaned out to people in need — and how many individuals have been helped by those What one woman in the Philippines did with a $50 loan and what Mark learned from that story More info about what happens with donations to Opportunity International and how bank partnerships help 10x the impact of those donations Why today's level of poverty can be the next “Berlin Wall” The power of a simple $30 donation The important distinction between giving money and giving a loan, and why that's related to increasing people's dignity Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Opportunity International website UnPoverty.org (Mark's website) “UnPoverty: Rich Lessons from the Working Poor” by Mark Lutz Buy a copy of “Lost at CEO: An Entrepreneur's Guide to Strategy” by Carl J. We can make all the jokes we want about the holiday theme and say how much fun this is going to be...but selfishly, this episode feels so good and so necessary every single year. We're not rolling like Oprah like last year, but we're still doing some good and having some laughs along the way. Hosted by entrepreneur and keynote/TEDx speaker George Andriopoulos. In the final episode of season one of Security Sandbox, Amanda Fennell and Darien Lewis of Relativity's Calder7 team discuss best practices for shopping in the modern age. And as the holidays draw near, they also talked about how to stay secure when receiving and using your own gifts—because that shiny new TV or VR headset might be hiding a hazard or two.
There are many facets to the core concepts of the holidays, but it seems that we often get stuck on presents. Of course, there are different kinds of gifts, such as home-made or extremely heart-felt ones, but many of us buy presents out of obligation. We would argue this is part of what makes this time of year so stressful. Today T and Gen would like to explore the concept of gift giving and how it ties to the capitalist nature of society.
It's another Launchcast Reboot and this is the one where we pretended to be Oprah for an hour. YOU get a donation...and YOU get a donation. Episode 312 is a reboot of a very special episode: The Holiday Giving Show. We spent the episode with Dana and James Battaglia, two of George's co-founders and co-board members from Shannon's Fight, and we got to talk with four other incredible non-profit organizations about their missions and more. It was such a blast to do some major good for such good organizations, and you'll see what we mean as you listen to this tear-jerker of an episode. Season 2 of The Launchcast premieres with a very special Episode 201: The Holiday Giving Show. We spent the episode with Dana and James Battaglia, two of George's co-founders and co-board members from Shannon's Fight, and we got to talk with four other incredible non-profit organizations about their missions and how they've pivoted in 2020.
