Maximum Overdrive is a 1986 American horror film written and directed by Stephen King, in his only directorial effort. The film stars Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, Laura Harrington, John Short, Yeardley Smith and Christopher Murney. The screenplay was inspired by and loosely based on King's short story "Trucks", which was included in the author's first collection of short stories, Night Shift, and follows the events after all machines (including trucks, radios, arcade games, vending machines, etc.) become sentient when Earth crosses the tail of a comet, initiating a worldwide killing spree.The film is King's only directorial effort, though dozens of films have been based on his novels or short stories. It contained black humor elements and a generally campy tone, which contrasts with King's somber subject matter in books. The film has a mid-1980s hard rock soundtrack composed entirely by the group AC/DC (King's favorite band), whose album Who Made Who was released as the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack. It includes the best-selling singles "Who Made Who", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and "Hells Bells".Maximum Overdrive was theatrically released on July 25, 1986, to critical and commercial failure. It was nominated for two Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Director for King and Worst Actor for Estevez in 1987, but both lost to Prince for Under the Cherry Moon. Siphiwe Mkhize, better known as Enoo Napa. #1 Afro House Artist 2017 on Traxsource ...is a self taught producer from the township of Umlazi, Durban in KwaZulu Natal. After taking up production in 2013, his remix of Jackie Queen's “Conqueror”, an ambient, dark afro sound with a hint of techy synths, caught the attention of Black Coffee in early 2015. In a short space of time, his productions have blazed a trail to the sets of prominent DJs worldwide and earned him the 17th spot on the Traxsource Top 100 Afro House producers of 2016. His quick ascent was no small feat. Enoo Napa quit his job as a CCTV operator to pursue music full time. Challenging himself to the busiest year of his career to date, he produced 15 remixes and 12 originals within 18 months. These included “High in Your Love” featuring Durban vocalist Zipho which made an appearance on Dj Mbuso's Phezulu Selection Vol 4. As well as “Uprising” a collaboration with DJ Shimza released on Shimza's One Man Show EP through Soulistic Records. Now one of the most prolific young house music producers in South Africa, Enoo Napa has remixed for Black Coffee, N'dinga Gaba, Mi Casa, Oscar P, King Sfiso, DJ Merlon and continues to put out heavy, raw afro, electronic infused cuts on various well recognised international labels; Iklwa Brothers Music, MoBlack, Offering Recordings, Aluku Records, Arrecha Records, DM. In 1999, Gerzinio took his passion across the water to Dublin, Ireland, immersing himself in the city's legendary club scene. Regularly seen at iconic venues such as Temple Theater, Ormonde, and the GPO Galway, he carved out a name for himself with weekly and monthly residencies on platforms like Radio4by4 and Progressive Heaven. Fast-forward to today, and Gerzinio is still pushing boundaries. His recent mixes have been featured on the Progressive House Classics blog, and his show "Purple Haze Sessions" continues to drop across selected internet radio , stations, including: Subcode Radio , Progressive House UK, Sonar Bliss Radio Belfast, RTE Pulse – Back 2 Basics , Mixpub Radio, Inferno Radio, Chicago Youth Radio.
