Maximum Overdrive is a 1986 American horror film written and directed by Stephen King, in his only directorial effort. The film stars Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, Laura Harrington, John Short, Yeardley Smith and Christopher Murney. The screenplay was inspired by and loosely based on King's short story "Trucks", which was included in the author's first collection of short stories, Night Shift, and follows the events after all machines (including trucks, radios, arcade games, vending machines, etc.) become sentient when Earth crosses the tail of a comet, initiating a worldwide killing spree. The film is King's only directorial effort, though dozens of films have been based on his novels or short stories. It contained black humor elements and a generally campy tone, which contrasts with King's somber subject matter in books. The film has a mid-1980s hard rock soundtrack composed entirely by the group AC/DC (King's favorite band), whose album Who Made Who was released as the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack. It includes the best-selling singles "Who Made Who", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and "Hells Bells".Maximum Overdrive was theatrically released on July 25, 1986, to critical and commercial failure. It was nominated for two Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Director for King and Worst Actor for Estevez in 1987, but both lost to Prince for Under the Cherry Moon. King disowned the film, describing it as a "moron movie", and considered the process a learning experience, after which he intended never to direct again.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Time to Mute the Music? Helsley's Entrance Is All Hype

BT is calling for a change to Ryan Helsley's dramatic bullpen entrance music, "Hells Bells," arguing that the song no longer fits his poor performance with the Mets. He believes the grand, intimidating music is at odds with the fact that Helsley has been "getting absolutely mopped" on the mound. As a comical suggestion, BT recommends "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps, complete with the "Burn, Baby, Burn" refrain, to better reflect the way Helsley has been serving up "flames" to opposing hitters. While he admits that athletes need to get amped up, BT insists that the music must align with a player's performance to maintain its "aura" and not become a joke.

BT dives into a variety of topics, beginning with a glowing review of Anthony Volpe's recent performance and resilience, claiming he's proving all his doubters wrong. He then shifts to the Mets, musing over the baffling "softness" of the team and questioning if Juan Soto is truly as young as he claims. Finally, he offers a bizarre but hilarious suggestion for Mets reliever Ryan Helsley, proposing a new, less-intense entrance song ("Disco Inferno") until he can perform to the level of his fiery "Hells Bells" walk-up music.

Hardrock? 100% "Back In Black"!" __________ Über diese Songs vom Album "Back In Black" wird im Podcast gesprochen: (23:13) – "Hells Bells"(37:05) – "Shoot To Thrill"(48:45) – "Back In Black"(01:03:12) – "You Shook Me All Night Long"(01:10:44) – "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" __________ Alle Shownotes und weiterführenden Links zur Folge: https://1.ard.de/acdc-back-in-black __________ Ihr wollt mehr Podcasts wie diesen? Chris and Simon ring the changes on bell folklore: bells mysteriously rung by polts (or rats or monkeys or blackbirds), bells ringing in churches beneath the waves and in coalmines, and bells with the power ('supernatural bleach') to drive away plague, the Devil and the Fae. Bells toll as death omens the 'death-bell' or ringing in the ears predicts imminent death, and Big Ben chimes thirteen when a royal is about to die. Chris finds a-peal in some physics experiments testing whether bells drive away thunderstorms and Simon chimes in with mermaids and their watery bells. Also, Great Aunt Moll, fierce disagreements over servants, and tips on how to keep your teenage kids in at night...

Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, and we're cranking it to 11 with AC/DC's iconic record Back In Black! Join James and 2008 Connor as we journey through this album one (or more) metaphors at a time. In the wake of Bon Scott's passing and largely shaped by new lead singer Brian Johnson, this record would go on to be one of the best-sellers in the entire world. Hits like Shoot To Thrill, Hells Bells, and You Shook Me All Night Long solidified the Australian pub rock band's place in history. We'll talk about outfits and rituals in a record-setting TWO Fast Fire Facts, and learn about everything from their sewing machine name to the time their music provided the soundtrack for a nuclear attack. Connor owns it, do you? (Oh.. and there WILL be a test.)Keep Spinning at www.SpinItPod.com!Thanks for listening! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

"Back in Black," the iconic album by AC/DC, emerged as a rock masterpiece during a challenging period for the band. Released in 1980, the album was a tribute to their late lead singer, Bon Scott, who had passed away earlier that year. Brian Johnson took over vocal duties, and the band decided to forge ahead in his honor. Recording took place at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas, with producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange at the helm. The studio sessions faced emotional hurdles as the band coped with Scott's loss, but they channeled that energy into creating a hard-hitting, no-nonsense rock album. The title track, "Back in Black," became an anthem, showcasing Angus Young's electrifying guitar work. Other standout tracks like "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Hells Bells" contributed to the album's massive success. "Back in Black" not only revitalized AC/DC but also became one of the best-selling albums globally. Its enduring popularity is attributed to the album's gritty sound, infectious energy, and the seamless integration of Brian Johnson's vocals into the band's signature style. The album's impact endures, solidifying its place in the pantheon of rock history. #RockLegendsACDC #ACDC #RockIcons #HighVoltageRock #Thunderstruck #ClassicRock #BackInBlack #ACDCFans #AngusYoung #BrianJohnson #RockNRollPower https://www.acdc.com/ https://www.ac-dc.net/ https://instagram.com/acdc?igshid=NzZlODBkYWE4Ng== https://www.facebook.com/profile.php/?id=100047152025766 https://open.spotify.com/artist/711MCceyCBcFnzjGY4Q7Un?si=6vAfj0qYTrW0WF2_BFwnZA https://youtube.com/@acdc?si=dy_JAhOkao-gRQW6 Please follow us on Youtube,Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Patreon and at www.gettinglumpedup.com https://linktr.ee/RobRossi Get your T-shirt at https://www.prowrestlingtees.com/gettinglumpedup And https://www.bonfire.com/store/getting-lumped-up/ Subscribe to the channel and hit the like button This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rob-rossi/support https://www.patreon.com/Gettinglumpedup

FC St. Pauli is a 2nd Bundesliga team from Hamburg. That's one thing. It is also "Germany's original cult club," an "antifascist pioneer," the "club of punk and techno, or a "swashbuckling left wing club." The history behind these labels begin in the late 1980s, when punks occupied houses around St. Pauli's stadium and antiracists found out that football grounds didn't just belong to Neonazis. It continues today, in a club that has  spoken out against the overcommercialization of football,  or as an ally to refugees, and in a fan culture that defines and defends its antifascist ties between neighboring Bremen and faraway Tel Aviv, Israel. The Fanladen St Pauli connects the then and now. It's a fan-run and, very uniquely, social-worker led project with deep ties of accountability and advocacy to the club, its fanculture and the public, and deep roots in the community. Julian and Paul from the Fanladen offer the lens of activist fans and knowledgable social workers to discuss what works at FC St. Pauli, some history, but also the dangers of the internationalization and commercialization of St. Pauli's rebellious image. How do you find balance? How do you find a way forward and regain joy in your life? We posed these questions to Keeya Steel, founder of the popular Hells Bells and Mast Cells on social media. As someone who lives with POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome), and hEDS (hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), she is all too experienced at trying to find that balance. Keeya shares her journey through a childhood peppered with “you're making this up” accusations, as well as her diagnoses as an adult that brought relief and despair in equal measures. Keeya speaks openly about how humor helped her find her way forward through some dark days, and her decision to share that humor with the world. She shares her emotional journey to accepting her chronic illnesses and disabilities. Keeya also explains the online course she created with Dr. Linda Bluestein on optimizing medical appointments with complex illness, and why she wanted to share that course with others. Keeya reveals tips on getting the most out of doctor's appointments and discusses her experiences with finding new medical professionals. “In the end,” Keeya says, “I want people to be more open to hope and future joy.” An inspiring episode for us all so don't miss it! Our Christmas Rabbit Hole Episodes rank among the highest. This special episode features classic rock songs and theme songs which feature a spooky theme.  We hope you enjoy this first “Halloween” special from What The Riff?!?Theme from the television series “The Walking Dead”  This post-apocalyptic zombie series ran for 11 seasons, from 2010 until 2022.  It was based on a comic book of the same name and sparked multiple spin-offs.  The minor key and strings set the mood well for this horror series.Theme from the television series “The Munsters”  A television classic that surprisingly only ran for two seasons, from 1964 until 1966, in black-and-white.  Some say the ratings drop that resulted in cancellation of the show was due to competition from "Batman."Run Like Hell by Pink Floyd  This track from “The Wall” features music from David Gilmour and lyrics from Roger Waters, the last collaboration to date from these two.  The song represents the turn to violence in the life of Pink as he orders his thugs to attack the “riff-raff.”Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne  The first single from the 1983 album of the same name tells of a creature who terrorized a town, was killed, and then returns from the dead.  The song featured the first Ozzy music video.Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath  The title track to the 1980 album of the same name features new front man Ronnie James Dio on vocals, taking over for Ozzy Osbourne in the band.  Dio is also the source of the lyrics for the track.Spirits in the Material World by the Police  Sting wrote this opening track to the Police October 1981 album “Ghost in the Machine.”  It is a psychological and philosophical piece, discussing man's existence and the failure of the institutions around him. Witchy Woman by the Eagles  One of the early Eagles songs, this track was the only song on the debut album for which Don Henley would have a writing credit.  The inspiration was an amalgam of women Henley had met, but the primary inspiration was Zelda Fitzgerald, the muse and wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald.Hells Bells by AC/DC  The lead-off track to the album “Back in Black” starts with the tolling of a 2,000 pound bronze bell.  Today it is used in multiple sports events, as well as being a fantastic Halloween song.Friend of the Devil by the Grateful Dead  This folk rock track appeared on the Dead's fifth studio album, “American Beauty,” from 1970.  It is one of the most covered Dead songs in their catalog.    Feed My Frankenstein by Alice Cooper  While this song was originally recorded by British group Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction, it is more famous in its cover version which Cooper performed in a cameo in the movie “Wayne's World.”  The cover also has guest appearances itself, including Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx, and Elvira. Superstition by Stevie Wonder  This funky song came out in October 1972 and hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1973.  Wonder chronicles a number of superstitions in the lyrics, and warns against the negative effects of being superstitious. Thriller by Michael Jackson  No Halloween song list would be complete without the seventh single from Michael Jackson's sixth studio album of the same name.  Thriller was not originally intended to be a single, but became that in an attempt to boost the album sales.  The video would be scarily expensive, and would be called "the most famous music video of all time" by the Library of Congress.  The tactic worked, as album sales doubled after Thriller's release as a single.

Mast cell disorders are prevalent in the hypermobile population, but can often go undiagnosed. Persistent pain can be initiated and perpetuated by mast cells, which have also been referred to as “gatekeepers of pain”. How can someone who suspects mast cell issues go about seeking relief for mast cell-related pain? How can medical professionals accurately seek to diagnose and treat mast cell pain? For this conversation, we put Bendy Bodies founder, Linda Bluestein, MD, in the hot seat. With her many years as a practicing anesthesiologist and her long career treating people with hypermobility disorders, she's been in a unique position to research, diagnose, and treat these complex conditions. Dr. Bluestein defines mast cell disorders and ways they may present. She explains why people with hypermobility should be aware of mast cell disorders, and reveals the prevalence of pain associated with mast cell issues. Dr. Bluestein shares her techniques for evaluating pain in a patient, and offers advice on treating pain in a patient with mast cell issues. She suggests ways to communicate with a medical professional about your own pain, and shares her wish list of ways she would address mast cell disorders on a large scale. With practical advice for both medical practitioners looking to improve patient care, and hypermobile people searching for ways to mitigate their own chronic pain, this episode is filled with tips and insight into a complex problem. Additional notes: Excipients: All medications have excipients (“inactive” ingredients in medications that may cause problems in susceptible people). Mast cell disorder testing: Tryptase is just one mediator that is important to check (both at baseline and within four hours of a flare). I provide lab slips to my patients that they can take in for testing as needed. Tryptase levels can be helpful (especially if they are elevated) but a normal level does not rule out a mast cell problem. Pain sources: People with EDS and comorbidities (like mast cell disorders) can have all the types of pain. These include nociceptive (coming from actual or potential tissue damage), neuropathic (problem within the nervous system) and nociplastic (dysfunction of how pain signals are processed). Ask someone to name some of the best-selling albums of all time, and there's a very good chance they will overlook AC/DC's “Back in Black.” In some ways, it's easy to dismiss the band as overly simplistic .. or even stuck in time. But that would be a mistake to discount the impact that the band has had on the trajectory of rock and roll. “Back in Black” came out in summer of 1980, and it's such a great summer party album. (Or course, you could probably say that about every AC/DC album.) “Back in Black” came out just months after the death of lead singer Bon Scott, to whom the album is dedicated. The record is 10 songs of pure fist-pumping fun – with just the right amount of deviousness to boot. “Hells Bells,” “Back in Black” and “You Shook Me All Night Long” are radio and arena staples more than four decades later, and they sound as fresh and relevant as they did then. Do yourself a favor and give a listen to “Back in Black,” particularly if you never have before. After all, it has sold more than 50 million copies ... for a reason.
